Dream Life

Lesson Three: Dark Attribute Magic

When we head west on Aurelia Street and reach today's destination of the city of Low Cliff in a few moments, a caravan with whom we act is attacked by bandits.

On a narrow road in the woods, a wagon leading was attacked, causing a line of about a hundred wagons to stop intact.

We were about fifty meters from the beginning, but the bandits attacked us, too. Cunningly, at first, he attacked from the south side - the direction of travel, the left hand side, and drew attention, then the time difference, the north side - the direction of travel, the right hand side, from the ambush.

That number is roughly thirty.

A multitude of cluttered groups with single-handed swords, double-edged axes, spears, etc. in scratchy leather armor rise to crack the bushes and rush in with a barbaric voice.

At that time, on the north side were my father, Masaias, two vigilantes, and four Beatrice.

The heady forty bearded man drives the men aloud with a niggling laugh.

"There's only four of us! Get rid of it!

Are your men convinced of the victory in that voice, too, "" Whoa! "" and when he responds cheerfully, he leaps to his fathers one after the other.

I was anxious for the enemy to take the lead.

(Yummy...... I feel like I've seen it and no one stands as good as Beatrice or Byron, but only four of them will push it off in numbers...... but were the first ones? I use my head more than it looks. We need to regain the lead somehow...)

The archers, who emerged from the south, seemed to be gathering their main strength on the north side. Perhaps their initial prospect would be to attack with a bow from a distance and stop half the escort.

And with that gap, the main force on the other side would have pushed it in at once and was going to pinch it.

But instead of our magic being powerful and stuck, it quickly wiped out and attacked us to abandon the original operation and push it out in numbers at once.

My father sets up a bastard sword, the sword of love, and gives instructions to Jim the swordsman and Kevin the magician.

"Don't let him near the carriage. Calm down and follow my instructions."

Hiding in the shadow of his grandfather, Govan, known as a hero, he is not noticeable, but his father is also an experienced warrior and a brilliant commander. The gyms, who were standing on my father's calm figure, soon regain their calm.

The head seemed to think his father should be crushed first, "Kill him first," he slams three bandits.

One of them, a giant swordsman comparable to Byron, slapped a boneless two-handed sword at his father.

Without panicking, the Father beautifully receives an attack that he has only left to his power, and wields his own sword so that it is even more tangled in his opponent's sword.

That slash, aimed at a gap in the armpit, precisely slashes off the man's left elbow. The bandit couldn't understand what had happened and stared blankly at his left arm as a bright red blood splash rose. But I immediately said, "My arm! My arm!" cries a lamentable and pitiful scream.

My father wasted his time stabbing a stop, putting a kick in the man and trying to make space.

But soon a bandit with a big scratch on his shallow black face waves an axe for one hand and hits his father.

My father can retreat without difficulty from the man, but the bandits attack my father as one sprang up after another.

Beatrice, a short distance away, had shown her specialty in deformational spears and was quickly raising the two to a blood festival. And one by one, he tries to protect his father, where enemy attacks are concentrated.

However, even if the number of enemies is overwhelming and the enemy is damaged and lowered, a new enemy will soon fill that hole. Even with her arms, I couldn't easily turn to my father's support.

In the meantime, the bandits, who had not participated directly in the attack, were close to twitching and turning to the carriage.

Me, Liddy, and Sharon, the three of us, although magically towing from the top of the carriage, couldn't stop the bandits from legging.

Because it was ambushed, it was a riot before allowing the enemy to approach and unleash Range Attack magic. Shooting Range Attack Magic in the current situation could damage not only enemies but also allies.

As a result, we were unable to effectively use our powerful weapon, magic.

In the meantime, only one thing was fortunate. That was that the bandits who attacked from the north had no archers and would not have been attacked from a distance.

But also in the meantime, my father and two young men, Jim and Kevin, are gradually cornered.

I was in a hurry for this situation.

(Passionate in many...... if you don't reduce the pressure a little, it will taste bad......)

I was releasing a flashy arrow of light as conspicuously as I could to draw the attention of the bandits at all from the top of the carriage.

But unexpectedly, the bandits were aware that we were afraid of misfiring.

Under the orders of the chief, a bandit with a shield prevented a magical arrow and, as a whole, surrounded him to attach to his fathers to prevent him from shooting Range Attack Magic.

Furthermore, the bandits are showing a collaboration between the swordsmiths who wave their swords in the front, and the magicians stick out their spears and the bandits.

Beatrice, who is just a magician, did not let the swordsman in his nostalgia and attacked him without difficulty, but the inexperienced vigilante youngsters were slightly damaged by a spear stretching after the sword.

As my fathers managed to keep the front, Byron jumped from the other side.

His two youths, his men, also follow with a desperate look and turn to the support of their fathers.

Byron, like me, decided that the south side was a hunchback, leaving it to Mel and Dan, and seemed to give top priority to my father's support.

With the entry of the Byrons, Jim and Kevin also managed to push back the bandit pressure.

Still, I just recovered from the first confusion and disadvantage, and even with the Byrons joining me, I still have quite a few bad minutes.

Byron pushed himself among the bandits to reduce the pressure on his father after ordering Brett, the swordsman, and Sid, the magician, to protect his father.

Show off the explosive slaughter you're good at and take down a few bandits. It wasn't just that, it was rambling around like a mad warrior trying to confuse the bandits.

The bandits couldn't just leave Byron alone, either, and they had to turn their power toward Byron toward their fathers.

Another fierce man, Beatrice, had about five bandits attacking him. They saw Beatrice as a dangerous opponent and were in an operation to contain the five of them.

Its Beatrice, but because of the huge difference in skill with the bandits, there was no rush color in the expression.

On the contrary, she said, "You won't be dealing with me to the extent you are. Just get the strong guy out," he provoked, trying to reduce the pressure on his fathers a little.

Young vigilantes, Jim and Kevin cannot afford as much as Beatrice, and are desperately attacking their enemies. Brett and Sid, who came for backup, were also surrounded by multiple enemies and gradually pushed.

However, although blood was shed from arms and feet, none of the four had yet suffered decisive damage.

My father was desperately attacking the bandits as he skilfully covered for them, too, leaning on the carriage.

I got glued, but both lacked decisiveness. The enemy was nearby, such as diving into a mere twenty meters or so and ambushing him, but besides his thoughts, Brett and the young men stood up and burned their hands at two powerful warriors, Beatrice and Byron.

Meanwhile, the three of us, me, Liddy, and Sharon, both powerful fighters, were attacking each other for fear of misfiring.

(It's glued now, but if it's also a small trigger, the enemy pushes it in at once. We have to decide now...)

I decided to use my newly developed original magic in this situation.

"Sharon, Liddy, get me in tow on my behalf! Use dark attribute magic!

I made the decision to use Dark Attribute Magic as Range Attack Magic.

Fire Attributes Magic Flame Storm (Firestorm), Water Attributes Magic Snow Storm (Blizzard), and Wind Attributes Magic Big Storm (Tempest) are bigger if you are aggressive, but in woods where trees grow depressed, fire attributes threaten to burn out, and other magic is inhibited by trees and the effect drops to the extreme.

Generally it is said that dark attribute magic has a short range and takes time for it to work. That's because it needs to be cloud-like in order to use a medium called "dark”.

But my thought of dark attribute magic was supposed to be a forest war like this one. As a result, the speed at which the magic unfolds and the effect is exerted is fast.

As I began to build up the power of the Spirit, Sharon began to restrain the bandits with a finely controlled swallow cutter to avoid hurting his allies, as I instructed.

But the enemy also began to get used to this one's magic, and it had no more effect than towing.

Liddy cleverly uses the whirlwind blade (wind slash) and bow to help his struggling allies.

Besides us, the archers, the front and rear carriage escorts, had sporadically fired arrows and begun to tow. But there was no further cover, and the swordsmiths of the escort did not try to leave the carriage.

There's a reason for this, and none of us think it's flimsy.

Both the front and rear merchants were small about two wagons, and naturally the number of escorts was as low as five.

For once, the arrangement when organizing the caravan, when the front and rear carriages are attacked, has been decided to help each other, but it is still not easy to move when there is this much difference in power.

Especially in the case of small escorts, it is often called the collection of solo mercenaries rather than a single organization like a mercenary regiment. For this reason, even if we know that banditry elimination is the most effective means of ensuring safety, we are hesitant to stay away from our employers and actively join the fight.

If this is an organization like the Mercenary Corps, it is also possible for the captain to show leadership and divide the mercenaries between two employers to protect and the elimination of bandits, but even if leaders are determined in the gathering of incoming mercenaries, they are often unable to distinguish well.

I didn't expect backup from the start because this was also a gathering of solo mercenaries who said so.

It took me about a minute to finally gather the power of the Spirit.

I cast a spell as I shed the power of the accumulated Spirit against my arms.

"Night and peace, God of darkness (Noctis). Give me the black butterfly that will take your move. I will not give you the power of my life at that price. Bind my enemies..."

The chant of the spell is over. And I scream the last keyword.

"Dance, Black Butterfly! Black Butterfly Circle Dance (Spanglewaltz)!"

At that moment, about ten centimeters of pitch-black butterflies fly from my right hand. The figure is like a patterned magpie butterfly, with a beautiful silhouette like a cut picture.

As the magic falls out of me, one butterfly after another wings from the flat of my hand. That number reached hundreds, and flying gracefully silent was like a flock of butterflies in the jungle around South America I used to see on TV.

The butterflies head towards their enemies as they whirl through the woods. The figure depicted an elegant circle like riding the rhythm of the circular dance Waltz.

"What the fuck!"

The bandits marvel at the herd of pitch-black butterflies filling their heads.

The young bandit, who was attacking Beatrice, stops moving for a moment to the unusual phenomenon he sees for the first time.

Beatrice couldn't have missed that gap and said, "Where are you looking!," he bruises, slamming his spear precisely into that bandit's throat.

The bandit let go of his sword and held his throat, falling down screaming with a creep.

Even around the bandits, who have not crossed their swords directly, the pitch-black butterfly approaches them in circles. Did the bandits feel something creepy about those black butterflies, swinging their weapons and trying to get rid of them, but the flickering butterflies skilfully avoid weapons and stick them in the faces of the bandits one after the other.

The young bandit, who was waving his sword, shakes it off with his left hand in an attempt to strip the butterfly sticking to his face. But there was no entity in the butterfly of darkness, and the left hand only scratched the universe vainly.

"Damn! What the hell, this is! Ugh! …"

The young bandit is deprived of his sight and screams in panic. Shortly afterwards, he collapsed off his knees like a doll with a broken thread.

He refrained behind him, and at first he was the head with an extra look on his face, but he saw a young man fall, and said, "A poisonous butterfly!," he exclaims aloud.

Seemed like a poisonous butterfly to the head, but that's a mistake.

Because my unleashed butterflies of darkness are not poisonous, they cause paralysis.

The chief felt his men's agitation and realized the disadvantage, "Once, pull!" and commands retreat. The men immediately obeyed that order, interrupting the fight and starting the retreat.

Beatrice has dealt with this magic calmly because she has seen it before, but her first sighted fathers didn't seem to understand for a moment what happened.

Beatrice said, "It's Zach's magic! Enemy now! shouting," My fathers quickly regained their calm.

Not only my father, but Brett and the young men reacted immediately to the words, wrapped around butterflies in front of me and defeated one bandit after another who was panicking.

(That's right, there are times when the boss is just working out...)

Even while I'm thinking about it, the bandits will take my father's sword one after another or my butterfly will take my fighting power away.

Some of those who were in the rear were unaffected by butterflies, but at a distance they became food for the air hammers of Liddy and Sharon.

We took a good number of bandits, but still more than half of them succeed in leaving the ring of battle.

Distance was taken from the black butterfly, and some of the bandits had a relief look on their face.

But my magic wasn't as simple as ending it. The Dark Butterflies go after the bandits as if they were invited by sweet flower nectar.

A few more bandits succeeded in escaping among the trees, but the pitch-black butterflies persist in chasing the bandits out of my sight.

My magic is self-contained magic, similar to swallow-wing blades (swallow cutters), mimicking croak baldness. For this reason, the butterflies recognize their allies, Beatrice and their fathers, and move to wrap themselves around only the bandits.

For the record, the image is a butterfly that is attracted to flowers, but then the faces of the bandits will be flowers.

It is quite resistant to imagine the faces of those bearded bandits as beautiful flowers, which are well controlled by giving up the image of flowers and making them sap stained from the trunks of every tree.

The magic that causes paralysis includes paralyzed arrows for standalone attacks (paralyzed arrows) and fog of paralysis for multiple attacks (paralyzed mists), both of which are difficult to use.

In the case of paralysed arrows, it only works on its own. In the case of paralysed mists, which are range attack magic, those in the fog range can be paralyzed regardless of enemy allies, and the fog travels fairly slowly. For this reason, it was magic that could not be used in the event of a riot like this one.

To overcome this shortcoming, I imagined a butterfly with the effect of paralysis.

There was nothing particularly profound about the reason for the butterfly, and even the fly was fine. But in the case of flies, it reminded me of an animal that died of the plague, not a very good image, and conversely, the black butterfly looked beautiful, so I made it a magic called the Black Butterfly Circle Dance (Spanglewaltz).

I was happy with my magical success, but on the other hand, I remembered my concerns.

(Once activated with the same swallow cutter, it's easy because it chases enemies on its own, but it's called dark attribute magic... the Demon Clan's impression is too strong to be used with grandeur. I would definitely have been certified by the Demon Clan if I had flied it...)

Black Butterfly Circle Dance (Spanglewaltz) is a very brilliant magic if only it works. But shortcomings also existed in this magic.

Dark Attributes It can be said to magic in general, but the Dark Attributes that the Demons like to use are very poorly imagined. Especially in Luke's Holy Kingdom, as an evil god move, so much so that it is forbidden. For this reason, I am hesitant to use it too much.

There is another major drawback.

That means that the Magic Power (MP) consumption is very high.

The MP consumption per swallow blade (swallow cutter) does not reach one percent of the total MP holdings.

But the magic of Spanglewaltz is only activated, and it consumes nearly ten percent of the MP per minute until it's taken more than 20% and released itself.

The MP is cut in half because it was active for nearly three minutes this time as well.

So far, there is little magic with high MP consumption.

This is the cause of high MP consumption, but this is as simple as it gets.

That's because you activated dark attribute magic in bright daylight. Speaking of in the woods, it is quite inefficient to gather the power of the Dark Spirit during the day. If this is night, it can be activated with about half the MP.

Spanglewaltz, moreover, has a large number of dark butterflies to appear.

I think one or two people would consume very little MP, but if we put out a few hundred - this time about three hundred - at once, naturally the consumption of MP increases in proportion to that number.

Then, we need to reduce the number, but because it is originally a fog of paralysis (paralysis mist), if we don't give it some number, it doesn't work as magic. So far, even the smallest number doesn't activate unless you give it about two hundred.

Most importantly, this time, we are putting out about 50% more to ensure that the enemy is stopped.

I repelled the bandits in the front and finally could afford to look back.

Dan and Mel were slashing and tying bandits before I even noticed behind them. I was in a hurry for a moment and tried to activate the magic to cover me, but seeing as Liddy next door was following me properly, I regained my composure.

(You're just a veteran. I can see right behind me too......)

Her unleashed arrow pierces Dan's opponent, and another bandit upset by it is slashed down by Mel.

The south side was Yang Dynamic, but there seemed to be two other swordsmen besides the first three who attacked with bows. They thought it was easy to give when they saw young Mel and Dan, and they were looking at the gap and attacking.

(Looks like you could have just knocked us down without hesitation... but you were obviously after us...)

I was concerned about a lot of questions about this raid.
