Dream Life

Episode XVII: Escape

The corridor on the third floor of Castle Welburn was overflowing with soldiers from the Northern Border Army. Too suddenly, even Master Zach doesn't seem to be able to grasp the situation.

In the meantime, I, Dan Jakes, have been ordered by your halls, Masaias Lockhart and Zach, to check the safety of the escape route used by His Excellency the Governor - Hubert Raswell Borderline Uncle.

The number of enemies is overwhelming, even though we managed to stop them now. Mel in such a place...... it was really hard to leave the Zacks behind. Of course, that Master Zach ordered it, so I know this is the best way.

Yes, and why Master Zach nominated me.

In a fight in the hallway, I'm not very helpful. That's why they chose the least defensive way.

But I'm not pessimistic or demeaning about it. Because this mission will help me. So I changed my mind and decided to do everything I could to scout the escape route.

Upon entering the room, the hall was communicating Mr. Beatrice's concerns to His Excellency the Governor. His Excellency the Governor, as the Hall has advised, has acknowledged that I will scout the way out. [M]

The hidden door for the way out is behind a fine fireplace. Because it is rarely an open door, or when I try to open it, I make an unpleasant noise called Giggy.

Once inside, a narrow, narrow spiral staircase appeared leading from the third floor to the basement where His Excellency's living room was located.

It was dark and full of dusty smells there. I put on the magic props of the lights, cautiously, but hurriedly went down the stairs.

Down at the bottom, the smell of damp soil and mold becomes stronger.

As fast as you can take a narrow underground passage, but run on a small run, paying attention to the signs of the enemy.

Occasionally, ratty red eyes glow, but there is no sign of any particular enemy. There are some iron lattice doors along the way, which will be carefully opened with the keys deposited by His Excellency the Governor. They say it's an iron lattice to prevent anything from entering from outside the castle, and if you try to force it open from the opposite, the trap activates and the ceiling in the aisle falls.

In about five minutes I could see the blur and the end. With the slightest light that plugs through the gap in the door, you can tell that's where you're going.

I killed my breath and proceeded with caution as I explored the signs on the other side of the door.

Approaching the door, he puts his ear on it and looks inside, he hears a faint scrubbing sound of metal armor called guillotine or a weapon-like metal hitting the wall.

But I can't hear you talking at all.

Again, hold your breath, concentrate your consciousness and look inside. Now to see how many soldiers are ambushing. I explore people's signs as I imagine the room in my mind. Ten people were definitely felt. I'm not sure, but I feel that close to twice as many soldiers are ambushing. Another important thing is the smell of trees burning like pine lights.

(Mr. Beatrice is right...... this door would stab me with a spear the moment I opened it. Master Zach might be able to do something magically, but I don't know what's going on inside, so it might be difficult... for now, we need to hurry back...)

I didn't want to spend any more time, so I'm going back fast on the road I came from.

As I climbed through the spiral staircase with horrible thoughts, the worried facial hall master and Master Rod waited. Mr. Lydia and the others were just walking into the room, worried about the hallway.

(Did you defeat the enemy in the hallway while I was on reconnaissance... is that without Master Zach?

For a moment, I thought so, but I think the first thing to do is to report it to the pavilion.

Trying to report to the Hall on the spot, the Hall said, "There is no time. Report directly to His Excellency," he said.

I was confused by the words. [M]

His Excellency the Governor had a completely different atmosphere than he had at dinner yesterday. He spoke to me yesterday in a gentle way, but now with a harsh look, he was enough to remember his predecessors - Govan Lockhart. I get distracted by that viceroy, and I get really nervous.

I was thinking about that, and, uh, I got eyes on Mr. Lydia.

That's when something cold flowed down my spine.

Yes, Mr. Lydia's eyes were very scary. (12) It is not like raising "Manami", it is a beautiful face as usual, but I understand.

Lydia is very angry right now.

For a long time, Lydia became very worried about Master Zach. Especially when Master Zach gets involved in irrational things, his usual kindness lurks in the shadows and he's very scared. I mean, there's a crisis looming on Master Zach right now.

I looked into Lydia's eyes and realized that I had no time to think about trivial things such as how to report them to His Excellency the Governor.

Squeeze your courage and poke one knee in front of His Excellency the Governor. And without preconditions, I immediately started reporting.

"I will report to you. There are no enemies in the aisle. But at least ten people at the exit, not sure, but I felt signs of a close to double that number of soldiers. You were lurking your breath, I didn't hear you talking, but you were obviously poised to kill at the door. And I also felt something like a pine light burning."

I was anxious to know if it was the right language, but when I couldn't say that, I would go through it in the same way as when I reported it to the hall.

His Excellency nodded, "Well, thank you for your hard work. Dan Jakes" and he labors about me, but soon began discussing "Lord Masaias, I would like to hear Sir's opinion" with the Hall.

I look down and exhale. The tension I was straining was resolved.

I wanted to step back from before Your Excellency, but the two of you are in continuous consultation, and I can't grasp the time to step back.

"... there is no mistake in Dan's view. Me, too, and my son Zacharias are buying his abilities high. If this person is more than ten soldiers, it definitely means that there are so many ambushes…"

Haven't heard anything else distracting you, but your Excellency seems to have checked with the pavilion about the accuracy of my report.

My face gets hot at the assessment of the hotel. But it cooled off all at once like cold water was hung on the next word.

"Let's put Rodrick in the transmission. I will escort my squire Guy Jakes and this Dan Jakes."

The Hall appointed me and my father as Lord Rod's escorts. Master Rod says he will go to the Knights outside the castle for rescue. The escort is a very important task. She told me to leave it to me and honestly felt the load was heavy.

Furthermore, Mr. Beatrice, who is in front of the door, asked, "Will you accompany Lord Beatrice?," you said.

Mr. Beatrice shook his head small to the side,

"As the lord says, I'll let you stay here. Because only Guy's husband and Dan are less likely to be found. If a big girl like me wanders around, I can't help but stand out."

Mr. Beatrice answers that with a little relief, but that's not true at all. If Mr. Beatrice is serious, my father, anyway, it's difficult for me to even explore the signs. Maybe Master Zach doesn't want to leave here worried.

The pavilion nodded small and said, "Okay. Guy, Dan, I asked you," he said. Then Lord Rod told me he wanted to stay here, but the Hall and His Excellency the Governor persuaded me that the three of us would go and call for rescue.

As soon as we decide to do it, we move on to action.

Remove the rope from the back sac (backpack) and tie it to the window frame. This backpack was just given to me by Master Zach. I'm sure Master Zach knew this would happen. He's really amazing.

Looking out the window, about three or forty soldiers were waiting under their hands for the lighted demon props.

Before the hall said anything, Lydia turned to the window with a flat voice with no emotions, saying, "I'll take care of it downstairs". And "Sharon," he calls out to his sister. Apparently, you use magic at the same time as your sister.

It's not an atmosphere to ask someone, but Master Zach seems to be guarding the hallway by himself. Lydia is genuinely angry because of it. This is what happened. Mr. Lydia is really scared. Better than my predecessors and Mr. Walt during training - Walt Vassel, a squire head.

I knew about it, so I knew immediately what I was going to do.

And just a little, just a little, sympathetic to the soldiers downstairs. Because it will be attacked with tremendous magic.

I told my father and vigilante Mark to snipe through another window.

"Mr. Lydia seems to destroy the enemy downstairs. Let's help too."

My father immediately realized my intentions and began to prepare a bow, but Mark didn't know what he was going to do and was in a bit of a hurry.

I didn't think we'd make a difference. [M]

Soon I heard Mr. Lydia and Sharon chanting spells.

Still seems to use the rare major moves.

"God of light (Lucidus), who commands all the light of the world. Give me your shards and many stars. I will not give my life to you at that price..."

Next to it Sharon also casts a powerful magic spell.

"It is the god of the wind (Wentus) who brings many winds. Feast of the Spirit of the Wind, I ask for a great storm. I dedicate the power of my life to you at that price..."

And they were unleashing magic at the same time.

"... give my enemies the hammer of God! Meteor Shower!"

"... blow the wind! Tempest!"

Lydia's meteor shower is activated.

Dozens of lumps of light - spheres about 20 cm in diameter - appear in the rain that descends. For a moment, its beauty blinded me, but soon a lump of light ripped the curtain of the rain and poured it down to the ground.

At first it was a meteor of pale light. But soon he starts to shine golden to represent Mr. Lydia's anger, and outside it becomes daylight.

Furthermore, the magic of my sister makes the sound of the loud air ripping through the room. Because of the glare, I can't open my eyes, but the sound of a boggle of broken garden trees and a blown stone hitting the stone wall, Katsunkatsun, pokes my ear.

When the sound and light subsided in about ten seconds, quiet and darkness were returning like lies.

And I peered downstairs to snipe the surviving enemy soldiers.

The garden was lit with demonic props of soldiers' lights. It is wet by the rain that falls, illuminating the ground as it sways. What appeared in my eyes in that light was the appearance of an unbroken garden and a soldier hooked to trees like an object.

I didn't think I was the world's landscape for a different landscape from reality. Yes, because it was like a land of the dead coming out of a fairy tale.

Returning to me in a matter of seconds, something cold again flows down my spine in the agitation of the anger of Mr. Lydia and his sister. But we can't miss this opportunity right now.

"Dear Rod, Father"

When I said that, Lord Rod and my father, who were confused by the magic of Mr. Lydia and his sister, also returned it to me.

In my case, I'm used to the magic of the Zacks, so I could return it to me right away, but if I could just show this much magic, I wouldn't seem to be able to keep up with it in a normal way.

My father takes the lead, and when I do the rope, I go down. It just doesn't seem to matter if it's wet in the rain, and we'll be on the ground in no time.

Master Rod goes down on a signal from my father. He is now named as a knight, but when Lord Rod was also in the village of Rasmore, he was dangerously down to the ground because he did a good job of climbing trees and ropes.

Finally, it's me, but I ask Lydia to "take the rope off me when I get down," and she goes down without even asking me back. I wasn't afraid of Mr. Lydia for not hearing back. I was just in a hurry.

As I descended to the ground as I slipped, Mr. Lydia took off the rope for me.

I recovered the rope, and the moment I looked around, I accidentally drank my breath.

It was supposed to be even more amazing than I saw it from above. The nicely maintained lawn is burned to a pattern, and the garden trees and beautiful flowers carefully pruned by the gardener are unbroken. More than that, the soldiers looked miserable.

He is bent in a direction where his arms and legs are unlikely, rolling to the ground in a baked figure in many places. That wasn't all, some bodies hung upside down against big trees and were being hit by the rain with a resentful look. Some seem to be alive, but more than half seem to be dead. It was so awesome magic.

My father suggested to Master Rod in a small voice that I was solidified by the sight.

"Let's use the soldiers' gear here. Fortunately, there seems to be some left to use..."

My father disguised himself as an enemy soldier and seemed to think of escaping outside the castle.

Master Rod nods, "I like that," and takes away the gear that seems to be available. Mr. Beatrice may have declined in anticipation of this situation. Because you probably won't find the right gear for that guy.

Already wearing protective gear, I decided to borrow only the cape and helmet of the Knights and guard my surroundings.

Every piece of gear was severely painful and it took me about five minutes just to pick it up. It took me a few minutes to get more gear on, and I didn't care if the enemy noticed the sound of magic and came this way.

About enough after I went down to the garden, Master Rod and my father were able to gear up.

My father wears a platoon captain's helmet and Lord Rod wears his squire's gear. No matter how many nights it is in the well-known Rod, it quickly falls apart. So it looks like my father bought a negotiator and got out.

Strangely enough, the enemy never showed up while gearing up. To be precise, there were soldiers on patrol on the walls, but they did not come down to the garden and rushed to report, but normally continued to guard.

We headed to the front gate with our father in the lead.

The rain is even more intense, illuminating the rain grains from which the magic props of the lights fall. In the magic props of the lights, the vision is narrow and even my father, a few meters away, can only see blurry.

At the main gate, I use the name of the 4th Battalion Commander, whom my father taught Lord Rod, to make a request to open the gate.

"The life of the Glenfel Battalion Commander has led us to send a decree outside the castle! Open the door!"

But the gate never opened, only the voice of a commander-like man returned.

"By the life of the battalion captain, we can't let any number of" whatsoever "through here."

I tell him again that my father is the commander of the battalion, but the commander has shown his will to reject in a flat voice, with absolutely no fitting.

"Say it again. Every man who tries to pass by is ordered to slash and throw away. Leave early."

My father also seemed to think that it was no use any more, saying in a small voice, "Let's think of another way," and then going back in the original direction.

Looks like we found a blind spot among the garden trees, where we decided to discuss our future policy.

My father agrees with me when Lord Rod says, "Looks like the enemy can only respond to the orders given".

"It seems so. Then I was wondering if it would be okay to go over the walls. If you quietly defeat the guard, you'll be able to descend unnoticed."

My father also seemed to notice the indifference of the soldiers on the walls. I didn't hear, but Master Zach said the soldiers might be manipulated by magic or drugs.

I was finally convinced there. [M] Because the enemy's movements so far have been too unnatural.

We made it to the stairs up the walls as we made our way through enemy patrols.

My father and I were to go up on the walls first and finish off the soldiers we were patrolling. Fortunately, the soldier on patrol is alone and, if successful, can overcome the walls unnoticed.

I lay in the shadows of the arrow compartment, and my father draws his enemies. It's a decision that you won't be slaughtered all of a sudden because you're disguising yourself as an ally.

As you can imagine, the enemy soldiers have been speaking to my father about who and what. My father approached me from behind in the gap where he said reinforcements would be, and he cut off the enemy soldier's neck with a knife.

Shortly after he raised his voice, the soldier ran out, and his father picked up the magic props of the lights that the soldier had and began to move to be vigilant around him.

"I keep pretending to be an enemy soldier. You go with Master Rod to the Knights headquarters."

My father seems to act like an enemy soldier to avoid being suspected by his enemies. It would be dangerous if we found him, but now we don't have time to argue. I thought of my father and felt a tingling pain in my chest, but I sent a signal to Master Rod.

"I don't suspect enemies now. Escape immediately."

When I say that, Lady Rod says, "This place is dangerous. Guy's coming with me," you said, "but I disagree with that.

"Now it's a top priority to go get an ally. My father would be fine. If you have to..."

I say nothing more and tie the rope I brought quietly into the arrow compartment. Did Master Rod understand my thoughts, said nothing more, and passed on the rope and went down the walls. Following that, I escaped safely outside the castle.

My father's disguise worked, and I could slide into the shadow of a mansion across the boulevard without being able to shoot arrows through the walls.

In time, I think it's about thirty minutes. My father's story was that even Zach's magic doesn't buy me much time, so I need to hurry.

We started running quickly. [M]
