Dream Life

Episode XXVII: Knight Harrison Gannell: Previous

Tria Calendar July 18, 2017

In the refreshing early morning of summer, a clear blue sky and a gentle breeze not yet containing heat stroke my cheeks.

Yesterday, we discussed the order of the dates and had them in Mel, Liddy, Sharon and Beatrice's order. Liddy looked strange, so she said, "Mel said it first. Well, the rest is somehow," he misled.

As a result, Mel's tension was unusually high in the morning and he was softly restless. I'm not even into my usual early morning training at all.

I was heartbroken by the way it looked.

(That's heartbreaking when you seem to have so much fun. If you find out it's a trap to lure Ganell out of "Oobi," you'll be sad... when you're safe let's make it up to you one more time, let's start over...)

I finished my training and it was breakfast time.

Mel had already finished getting ready to go out and was in the same blue piece as at the banquet.

He also smiled brightly during breakfast, "Where are you going today?" He asks.

"Right. Anywhere Mel wants to go."

Though I said so, I was thinking about where I was going for a while.

As expected, Mel said, "Uh, where would you like it?" and a confused, then expecting something, answer returned.

"Well, let's take a peek at the boulevard shops or hang out around the West End"

The boulevard is the northern street - the street from Netherton to Lowcliff, the main city of central Caerm Empire - as well as the main street of Wellburn. As a result, there are many branches of "Oh You're So", a large store headquartered in the imperial city of Primus and the commercial city of Aurelia, which are constantly busy.

It's this boulevard, but it's so beautiful, it's a great place to stroll.

Originally Welburn's general building used an orange roof made of red tiles, white or yellow lacquered walls and black embalmed columns, each and every building depicting a stunning contrast like a picture of a width. Furthermore, the buildings on the main street were all supposed to be three-story buildings for the reason that they would increase the living area, and the straight street was followed by a triangular roof at the same height. Since many of the buildings were shops, signs were hung at a glance of what store, and a beautiful shelter Awning was stretched out with a bright, primitive cloth. Further, the upstairs and third floor windows that hit the residential area are decorated with colorful flowers, enough to create the illusion of being in a theme park.

The western district, on the other hand, is the commercial district of the city of Welburn, with a variety of shops connecting clothing, weapons and accessories from groceries. There are no architectural restrictions like boulevards here, but there are still red triangular roofs and white lacquered buildings, with similar beauty to European tourist destinations.

Furthermore, the market Bazaar is open in the square, with tents of various colours. Between tents like narrow alleys, the voices of sellers selling a wealth of goods echo.

They are both lively and a great place to do window shopping with a blah blah.

We also lived in a big city called Doctus, an academic city, but Welburn, just one of the world's greatest powers, the northern city of the Caerm Empire, is a different city in size. Doctus has a population of 15,000, but the new town, which becomes a commercial district, is only a city of about 10,000 people. Wellburn, on the other hand, is a large city with a population of 30,000 in the city alone and a population of over 100,000 when combined with surrounding cities and villages that hit the economy.

Because of this, the commercial district is also large, and the goods range from those in the southern part of the empire to those in the northern Kingdom of Sartooth and the Oriental Kingdom of Kaum, as well as in variety and quantity.

Even I know the big cities that said Tokyo and Osaka, Wellburn seems big enough.

I wear my usual black monochrome outfit with a ruffled style of hemp shirt on my leather trousers. Just in case, I have a bastard sword. Sometimes Mel on the other hand is a piece, and he doesn't have a sword. If I had to, it would be possible to take the spare sword out of the storage magic Inventory, but I wouldn't be able to make the usual move, so I'm not thinking of giving it away unless it would be a pretty dangerous situation.

We leave for downtown from Welburn Castle around 9: 00 a.m.

When I give her my left arm, Mel is tangling her right arm with a slightly shy look on her face. From the side, it would look like a first couple.

Peek into shops dealing with clothing and accessories as you stroll down the bustling boulevard with a large crowd of people.

In the morning we decided to stroll down the boulevard and grab lunch at a fashionable food store that felt like a cafe just in the West End.

The cafe serves tables to stick out onto the road, and guests are eating wine and beer in one hand.

The main roads in Wellburn are cobblestones, and the fact that there are no earthquakes makes it difficult to open a cafe if this is another city. In addition, the width of the major roads seems to be determined, and the roads are quite wide on roads other than boulevards. As a result, even if it sticks out a little, it will not interfere with traffic.

When I asked for a garret with cheese, spinach and eggs - something I cooked with buckwheat powder thinly crêpe-shaped - Mel asked for the same garret and asked, "What does the drink go with?," he asked.

"Apple liquor (seedle) is probably the best. We should be able to get some white wine around here."

Mel asked for a slightly sweet apple liquor (seedle), as I recommended, and I chose a light white wine.

Eat a fragrant baked garrett and thrive on stories that have no other love.

When we finish our meals, we roll out to the city again.

Until then, I felt no danger. But sometimes, I felt the kind of gaze that would spy on us.

(Probably tailed. I don't think they're going to attack me today, but I need to make sure I'm not just alarmed...)

I retightened my mind so Mel wouldn't notice.

Me - Harrison Gannell - infiltrated Wellburn City one evening yesterday, July 16.

Arrangements already seem to be turning in the name of Harrison Gannell, dyeing his hair black, knocking around the castle gate of Welburn City as the pseudonym he always uses, Harold.

It's dangerous because Harold's name is passed on to the Knights during the Lockhart family raid, but this time there was no prep period and I had to use it.

But it doesn't mean there's no chance of winning at all. The name Harold is not unusual, and the orb - a demonic prop that proves his identity - is hardly discernible as authentic. If ordinary soldiers are opponents, there is little fear of discovery.

In fact, the soldiers conducting the interrogation at the castle gate were barely alert, just checking the criminal history by the orb - the orb has a mechanism to know as a criminal when he breaks the pledges he makes at the time of creation.

The state of the city tells that story, too.

Though rebel disturbances by the Fourth Battalion have come to an end and discomfort remains with Luke and Aurelia, it has been announced that the ceremony of the marriage of the Borderline Uncle will take place as planned in a few days' time, and the celebratory mood dominates the city.

In the meantime, I was thinking of taking action to clear up the carelessness of Dear Desmond - Associate Baron Desmond Gateskel.

The first thing I thought about was rescuing Master Desmond.

But he haunted his head before the ingenious ploy of Raswell Borderline Uncle.

Borderline Uncle announced that Master Desmond had been manipulated by Luke with suspicious moves and had been forced to act against his own will. Master Desmond is an unfortunate victim, and he also makes comments to the effect that what he hates is Luke and the guided Aurelia.

For this reason, even if I rescued Master Desmond, it can only be seen that Luke did it to hide evidence or use it even more masterfully.

Dear Desmond, who should be rescued before then, was forced to self-harm by Borderline Uncle, and it is likely that he has already died.

Even if you have not yet died and have succeeded in escaping with great difficulty, it is difficult for Master Desmond to make a fresh start. Wherever you go, it's Luke's further evil. It would be Othi's supposedly used to make you point the spearhead of Borderline Uncle's anger at you, whether it's seen as a knife for you.

I mean, even if we get that guy out of here, we'll just pass the time for no reason, and he'll just be used for Uncle Borderline's publicity work. This is the ingenious part of Uncle Borderline.

And what matters is that the proud Desmond can't possibly do anything about it. I wish I could persuade you, but I can't think of that.

That's all I've thought about, and I realize I'm ahead of schedule.

Too little information should be used as judgment material. Everything I've just thought about is just my imagination.

I switch my head if I have to try to gather information now.

Gather information and peek into rescue opportunities. And if the opportunity comes around, I will risk my life to save you. That's all I have.

But it is highly likely that you have already died. Another measure should also be considered, as time will not be used for no reason.

And the next thing I thought about was retaliation.

Retaliate against Hubert Raswell, the borderline uncle who fell for Desmond.

Borderline uncle is trying to use his daughter's marriage and strengthen her political base. I'm not sure, but Master Desmond thought so.

He is now eliminating his political enemies, Lord Desmond and His Excellency Viscount Tysburn - Viscount Constance Tysburn, brother of Uncle Raswell Borderline - and singing the spring of our world. So I'm going to give him despair by targeting this opportunity and rewarding him with one arrow.

I had that opportunity yesterday. Borderline brethren were interested in banqueting with the blacksmiths in an exercise area outside the city. I looked up to heaven unexpectedly for missing that wonderful opportunity, but I reconsidered that the opportunity was still there. Yes, there is still a great opportunity for Rosalind Raswell and Rodrick Lockhart to celebrate their marriage.

Rumor has it that an open (open) carriage will be used to parade Welburn Town at the end of the ceremony. Not only Rosalind and the others, but also Uncle Borderline and his great-grandson, Francis, ride the parade.

There will be numerous guards along the road, but there are more spectators coming from the neighborhood than that. If we get mixed up in that, we'll have plenty of opportunities for assassination.

Until then, Uncle Borderline and his family will never come out of the castle. I just couldn't create a collaborator in the castle, so I just have to peek out of the castle.

Fortunately, there were a few subordinates left in the city. It's subtle if you can trust me, but you can assume that the chances of betraying me are smaller than you fear me.

I set July 20th as the day of my decision and began to prepare.

July 17th was running to arrange for crossbows and poison materials to be used in the assassination.

Rumors were circulating that Master Desmond had harmed himself that night from a subordinate who was letting him look around the castle.

"... right after I confessed to anything, I'm talking about being poisoned in a dungeon at Knights headquarters on the 14th night. In the meantime, the announcement seems to mean after the wedding ceremony..."

It makes sense to keep Master Desmond alive at this time. Furthermore, it should not be published at this time. If so, as this rumor suggests, Dear Desmond has already harmed himself.

My heart stains black in despair. The remorse that I didn't make it made me feel bad.

(Still didn't make it...... I knew but careless...... then only retaliate as planned......)

The next July 18th I was also running to get ready. We succeeded in obtaining crossbows and poisonous materials. This poison was taught to make by Oulette of Luke, and is powerful enough to defeat even the Auga in one blow for it to be made of relatively easy to obtain material. At any rate, it has the disadvantage that when it touches the air quickly, it becomes ineffective in a matter of minutes. Due to this characteristic, it is necessary to approximate to some distance to be applied and used on the arrows, and it is necessary to shoot the arrows as soon as they are applied. For this reason, sniping is hard to use.

Information on the parade course was relatively readily available.

information before I was known to have disappeared, and the probability is high. Of course, you realize about me and I have the possibility to change the course, but still it is difficult to change this course dramatically. From now on, we will only be able to skip time to the point of being precise.

As he was haunted by the raid on the parade course, reports came up from one of his subordinates that Zacharias Lockhart had left the castle and was strolling through the city.

"... I put my arms around my daughter and rolled her out to the city for fun. For once, I put it on, but I went into the shed and clothes store many times..."

Reports indicate Zacharias was strolling the city with a girl of his generation, probably Melissa Marron. I say that I was shopping with little or no arming and no vigilance.

I doubted the report and wondered if it was a trap.

Zacharias is the man who kept me and Master Desmond drinking boiling water. Low Cliff - an accomodation town in the northern part of the empire - raids in the nearby woods, the rebellion of the Fourth Battalion at Welburn Castle. In all cases, you kept overturning our measures.

Without him, he would have succeeded in a raid in the woods near Lowcliff and acquired the distillation technology the Lockhart family possessed.

The revolt of the Fourth Battalion, Dear Desmond's measure, would also have been successful without him. Had that been the case, the Raswell family would have been in the possession of His Excellency Viscount Tysburn.

Zacharias, who can be considered the culprit of all, plays safely in the city.

But he is such a genius that Master Desmond fears. In fact, he is said to have a lot of influence over the two guilds, the Blacksmith Guild and the Mage Guild.

You've already got the information that I'm stunned. Then it is easy to imagine me either rescuing Master Desmond or retaliating against them.

Yet he says he's rolling out to the city with a cheerful face.

This is obviously a trap.

It must be a trap to lure me into.

"I've been purchasing rumors just in case, but apparently, he promised to roll out to the city one by one with four women..."

I didn't know the details, but from what I heard from the guards at the Castle Gate, apparently Zacharias has promised to go out to the city with four of his party members. That's what he said to the guard himself.

And according to reports from the subordinates, the girl looked more like a young man who had a lot of fun and freshly became a lover.

I still had doubts about the possibility of a trap. But even if it was a trap, this would not be a great opportunity, or even if I began to think so.

This plot to raid the Border Bell is likely to fail.

I looked down at the parade course, but the Knights had already been placed in a suitable spot for sniping. Further, he snuck into the house along the road and threatened his family to secure a sniping spot, but not only was the night security unusually tight, but he frequently came to check the house for anomalies.

I have no bowing talent.

So much so that I'm thinking of using a crossbow that's relatively easy to handle and sniping. It was intended to prepare multiple crossbows so that even if the first shot failed, the second shot could be fired immediately.

I also thought about getting into the folks lining up along the road, but bringing in weapons is supposed to be restricted, especially the bow and sorcerer's wand that can be used to snipe would end in failure just because they were seen by the surrounding masses. I was beginning to think about giving up sniping in the crossbow.

That's where we're talking about Zacharias.

He is famous as a mage, but he is also quite good as a swordsman. From what I've looked into, he's also highly capable of serving as a scout for scouts, which will be difficult to target unintentionally. But isn't that where his guard is?

My abilities are probably known.

My swordsman level is fifty five. One step ahead of what is commonly called mastery, a level everyone admits to being top notch.

But he's a lockheart.

There must have been more than a few Level Sixty in that house. Besides, the information says he trained with a second-class adventurer called Superior and was crossing each other.

I mean, maybe you don't think it's going to be a threat with strength to my extent.

This would be the guy who calls it a hopeful observation. But I decided to bet on this.

Even if you can't reward the Raswell Border Uncle family with one arrow, it would be desirable if you defeated Zacharias, the direct cause of our falling into this situation. I know it's a lot of resentment for him, but that doesn't matter to me right now.

Plus, if you kill Zacharias, you'll be able to eliminate one of the leading edgers of the Raswell family. I took the helm off assassinating Zacharias Lockhart for reasons like privilege.

The fact that today is Melissa Marron means that tomorrow is either Sharon Jakes, Lydiane Dupree or Beatrice Labal.

If Beatrice Rabal, the tiger beast man, has no choice but to abstain. From what I've looked into, she's a fierce beyond level sixty, vigilant as a real tiger, and unintentional would be impossible.

If tomorrow's opponent is Sharon Jakes, there's a good chance he'll succeed. She's a brilliant magician, but I'm not going to give her the chance to use magic.

Being Sharon Jakes is the most successful, but he's also going to make a decision at Lydiane Dupree.

She is a brilliant magical archer, but if she enters the melee, she can't be a threat. He has four attributes and is excellent as a healer because he can use water and light attributes, but in the case of the poison he uses this time, it should end before he is treated with magic. Because the poison I use is instant, and even though the healer is right next to me in Imperial City, I have never been successful in detoxifying it.

And it was July 19th.

I was lurking near the castle gate at Welburn Castle, aware of the danger. There are a lot of bureau and knighthood buildings around here, and my disguise could be spotted. I came to look at the opportunity knowing the danger.

I won the bet.

Today's opponent was not Beatrice Labal.

Next to Zacharias was Lydiane Dupree.

I began to follow quietly after staring behind the two people who looked like I was having fun putting my arms together.
