Dream Life

Episode Seven: Headache Seeds

Tria history November 5, 2017.

Half a month has passed since I brought Luna here to the village of Rasmore.

My mother, sister-in-law Rosalie, and maid chief Molly frequently speak up, and Mel and Sharon are worthy of their care. Of course, I'm calling out and inviting you outside, but I still keep my heart shut.

There must have been a saying, "There is no sadness that doesn't ease time," but I have no idea how long that “time” is. I don't have a hitter at the moment and now I'm just praying that time will fix it.

(Maybe I should put aside about six months. Only knowledge to the extent that I read the newspaper obliquely, but haste should have been forbidden......)

The village's defense plan I decided with my fathers after returning to the village, but this one is going relatively well.

The vigilante's training has been increased twice as much as it has ever been. Until then, the training was about once every six months, but now it is increased every ten days, plus reconnaissance of the woods with Hector and Guy. Beatrice and Dan are also added to this reconnaissance, each of them as leaders, dealing with vigilantes in a two-squad system.

Now it was just plugged into the farm idleness, and there was plenty of time to spare, but the doubling of training was increasing dissatisfaction from vigilantes.

This is explained by my grandfather, Govan, to the vigilante as follows:

"If a herd of orcs had attacked the village the other day, dozens of my people would have lost their lives. Five years ago a herd of orcs and orgasms wouldn't be strange if the village had been wiped out... I don't know why it wasn't attacked. Maybe I was just lucky. But it's only a few kilometers (Kimmel) away twice. There may be a third time that there has been..."

So I cut the word and said this with the force of previous years, called the Lion Heart.

"Leave the village if you are unwilling to protect your family in this situation! The Empire will protect us! Those who understand that do not deserve to live in this village!

Those who were unhappy with the word also had no choice but to speak. In fact, it's the Lockhart family and vigilantes that make this neighborhood safe. Many members of the vigilante were proud of that, because most of them nodded at the words of their grandfather.

But it's troublesome when grievances get inside. I kept my hands in secret. It's also like being called a "tangled hand”.

My hit hand, that was a "certain consideration” for the post-training launch.

Upon completion of their training, members of the Village of Rasmore vigilante have become customary to sweat in public baths and carry out launches in a liquor store right in the centre of the village. I often drink barley in that launch.

The barley wine is very warm because there is no refrigerator, etc. If it's a brown ale or something, it's better to be somewhat warm, but the room temperature is still too warm. Furthermore, there are many pale pilsner types in this village, and these are definitely better chilled to a crisp.

So, the consideration I made is that I magically chill the barley at the right temperature.

Of course, if you drink more than just one barrel, it becomes a warm beer, but unless it's also a dwarf, you rarely run out of more than two hundred litres of barrels for about thirty people.

Me or Sharon will chill the barley with the magic of a pseudo-perche effect. That's all, almost no more grievances.

At first he said it was frightening to let his lord's second son or his squire's daughter do that, but after intense exercise he sweated refreshingly in the bath, and most of them fitted into a “combo” called cold beer.

These days I have started to say that the beer I drink on a normal day is not good, and even people are starting to say that I can't wait for “a good beer day” on training day.

I wonder if it's while I'm on the operation of fishing with alcohol, but I can say it sounds like the Lockhart family, no, it sounds like me, so nobody says anything. I'm just so concerned that Liddy and Beatrice are laughing at Nitanita.

The only downside to this operation is that only me and Sharon can chill. Every day is tough because I'm almost out of magic with the fence, so I'm going to ask Sharon to do it.

It is very distressing to have a girl, who is only fifteen years old, take the place of a refrigerator in a liquor store where the drunks hang out.

Besides, being in a safe village, it will still be dark to let you walk the night lane on your way home.

For that reason, me or Dan or Beatrice will provide an escort, but when I ask Beatrice, she starts drinking with the vigilante at some point, and it's even slower to get home. And just because me and Dan are busy, and for some reason Beatrice always runs for office, doesn't end up being extra bad. I also serve cold beer at home, but I guess I like the atmosphere of drinking outside.

Sharon is also getting used to it a lot these days, and it was saved that he said it was a pleasure to talk to the villagers in the liquor store.

Of the vigilantes, those assigned to his brother Rod's horseback squad are more rigorously trained. My brother and Sim Marron train equestrians every day in the meadows north of Kanga Hill for around ten good riders.

However, the training consists only of training on equestrianism, such as running meadows in the "Gallup" or jumping over obstacles, and no training in riding combat is provided at this time.

I mean, as things stand, we're not thinking about fighting on horseback.

If you consider the terrain of the village, the cavalry is a sufficiently useful combat force, but there are as few as fifteen people who are fit, and it is hard to use as a unit of battle.

Besides, so far the number of military horses is low and we have no choice but to use untrained normal horses. In normal horses, you are more likely to panic if you are in battle, and as things stand, you just use it as a quick horse to Kilnarek and Bogwood.

Training for this horseback riding squad, but surprisingly popular. I believe the reason is because my brother-in-law Rosalie, along with her samurai Angie and Elena, is in it. The ability to train with the most beautiful women in the northern part of the empire and the famous "princess", and even the desire to show good things to Angie and Elena, beautiful single women growing up in the city, would be a popular high secret.

As for the crossbow Ishiyumi, we have asked Periclitle merchant Henry Norton - the merchant who undertakes the transport of Scotch - and the next time he comes, about ten units are scheduled to arrive as a first line. Craftsmen are similarly asking Norton to mediate.

As for building more schools, construction has just begun. We were going to build another wooden two-story school building, but we decided to build a gym because we had enough classrooms.

The gymnasium is a bungalow building of about fifteen meters by twenty meters, and the ground like a training ground in a mercenary guild is an easy creation of a bump. It is envisaged that a foldable, simple sleeping area will be provided and not only used as a shelter, but also as a field hospital.

At the end of the day, about the walls in Kanga Hill, but this one has changed its plans slightly. At first, all we had to do was stretch around the perimeter a barrier about five meters tall, but at five meters we had anxiety about an orga twice the height of a human being, so we decided to dig a moat in front of the barrier. This will allow a moat five meters wide and three meters deep in front of the wall, which is five meters high and three meters wide.

The reason I decided on this size was because I thought that by making the moat and wall volume the same, instead of pulling the wall up off the ground, I could make an image of moving it out of the moat area, reducing the amount of magic consumed.

This works surprisingly well, and moats are built with about the same amount of magic consumption as if only walls were to be built. Even including the petrification of the walls and the surface of the moat, it can be built more than ten meters per day and has already been completed for about a hundred meters. The upper surface of the wall is a bumpy gunshot chest wall, and it also creates an escape area like a tower that can be defended against attacks from above.

In building, I had another thought. That's shape.

At first, he imagined the five ridges in the Hakodate, and thought of a proposal for a star-shaped fortress that would make a polygon with a straight line. A shape like the pentagram has the advantage of not producing blind spots compared to a circular shape. Of course, you don't have to think about the impact absorption of an attack by a cannon like a star fortress, so you don't have to skew the earth base.

It did not adopt the proposed star fortress for two reasons.

The first is that the enemy to be assumed has aerial power. Because the Demons are virtual enemies, the Winged Demons and the demons they serve are assumed to be Demons - Winged Demons, Lesser Demons and Little Demons, Imps. Originally, the star fortress was supposed to be a castle fortress that assumed ground warfare, and could not determine whether it was effective against air power.

Another reason is the construction period. By being star-shaped, the length of the wall is longer than the circular shape. Naturally, due to the extension of the construction period, completion is delayed. It was a situation where we didn't know when the enemy was coming, and it was a priority to rush to completion.

Ultimately, the walls and moats that surround the hill, although not completely circular, are planned to fit the shape of the hill. The moat is not meant to be an empty moat, but is intended to be drawn from a storage pond to the east or from the Arn River flowing north of the village. The water builds up if you leave it empty, so it becomes a hotbed for mosquito outbreaks in the summer, and ice tenses in the winter, making no sense. We thought that if the water was flowing, we could prevent a massive outbreak of bowflakes and ice tension.

I did not intend to use it for fish farming, but I believe that depending on the amount of water, it could be used for farming fish such as Ivana and Nijmas. Built for defense, not for aquaculture from the start. I just don't deny that Ivana and Nijmas are fond of each other.

The total extension would take at least three and a half months, as it would exceed one kilometre.

It's not a major drawback, but there's only one drawback or something I don't like about it.

That's because it uses light ground soil, so it's brown and not beautiful. Originally, I don't care that much either because I'm not going to build white Asia or Obsidian walls, but I might just change color on the surface after it's done.

Thus far, the defense plan has progressed well. It's just a situation where you don't know when your enemies will show up and you can't even say you're in a hurry but you can afford it.

The Scots returned from Ars this afternoon with a distilled liquor scheduled flight (Scotch liner).

Scott and his squire Will Keegan, plus blacksmith Guild Welburn Branch official Johnny Water, were set to leave after the street was confirmed safe. As a result, we are leaving on the 22nd of November, that is, more than half a month behind schedule, the day after the information arrived in Ars that the orc herd had been exterminated.

Those who were the lords of the Lockhart family, including us Zach Sextet, welcomed them. And we were happy to be back safely, but only Johnny wasn't very well.

When I asked him why, he began to speak in a slow tone as he chose the words.

"... I asked the master craftsman about the Scotch accommodation, but sometime next April I was going to talk about seeing Welburn's blacksmiths' arms here (...)... to make your lord and your predecessors' armor"

The only way to send Scotch to Welburn is to turn it from for Ars. It seems to have been accepted by the General Assembly that we are going to have an arms test here in the village of Lasmore to see if we have enough arms to drink the "Zack Collection”.

I didn't think so and asked back, "I heard you look at your blacksmith arm to drink the Zach collection."

"Yeah, you're right. But... I wonder what to ask your lord and your predecessors..."

I had a slight headache, holding my temples, and blocked his words, "No, that wouldn't be the problem," he said.

"It's up to the blacksmith to qualify for a drink... that's crazy, isn't it? Besides, the Lockhart family hasn't decided how much it's going to cost... No, we're not talking about that. Alcohol should be drunk by someone who knows what it tastes like... First of all, neither my father nor I have told Ars to just sell it..."

I was confused in Johnny's words.

I can't help but take over the Zack collection. That the Dwarves would think so is within my assumptions. But it was unexpected to ignore the intention of the Lockhart family, the owner of the distillery.

You realize I'm confused and Johnny hastily adds an explanation.

"Nor is the guild going to decide on its own distribution. Of course, I'm not going to ignore the Lockhart family's intentions."

"Oh, really? Didn't sound that way..."

Johnny bowed his head big and said, "I didn't seem to put it the way I did. I'm sorry," he apologized.

"This is only a distribution within the blacksmith's guild. We're talking about how much of what we can sell to Ars can be turned to Welburn."

"... I did intend to sell it to Ars at first, so I don't know, but..."

When I was clouding my words, Sharon rarely joined the conversation.

"I told Mr. Johnny that the Zack collection had not yet been sold, so I said," Why don't you tell him that Welburn will take care of the headquarters? "... it's my responsibility."

If you ask me in detail, this is what happened.

I proposed to use the "Zack Collection”, which has not yet signed a sales agreement with anywhere, to negotiate the distribution of the three-year scotch, and that worked.

But Ulrich and the others stormed off and talked about not admitting it without as much arm as we do to drink the Zach collection.

And it meant making my grandfather and my father's weapons, who had been in Welburn to try that arm. But my grandfather and father rarely leave the village of Rasmore, so the blacksmiths came here to build it.

(Need a blacksmith arm contest to drink? That is also a level of weaponry that the Ulrich and others will or will not acknowledge. It should be worth hundreds of millions of yen. I've only spoken of it once. Hundreds of millions of yen to qualify for that... no. I'm really getting a headache......)

I hold my temples to the insanity of the Dwarf blacksmiths.

Johnny said, "So do me a favor," to me holding my temples and shaking my head.

I said, "Something?,"

"As I said earlier, your lord and your predecessors must receive it. But you're both innocent, so I was wondering if you could admit it even if I said so. So I would like to use Zacharias's help..."

Certainly neither my grandfather nor my father would receive superior blacksmith's arsenal free of charge. Besides, there will be no surplus funds in this defense plan, so it is also difficult to pay a legitimate consideration.

"Surely neither my father nor my grandfather would receive it. Is this necessary before then? I'm willing to sell the Zach collection to Ars and Welburn if they pay me a legitimate price."

Johnny shakes his head "Wearing" with a sad face.

"I wish we had plenty of stock and both just enough to be satisfied, but even three years is not enough. I don't think the Zack collection is even enough..."

I say, "Sure, but..." but no more words come out. Certainly in a state where demand totally exceeds supply. It can be described as a state of taking away from each other over a small pie.

"As liquor lovers, I'm not convinced, but the Ulrich people owe me for making our weapons. I'll handle the fathers' persuasion."

A smile came back on Johnny's face in my words.

"Thank you...... all we have to talk about later is the remodeling of Mr. Bertram's workshop. This one's got Mr. Kurt, so we'll figure it out."

Unexpectedly, "Remodeling Beltram's workshop?" I asked back.

"You said that the master craftsman“ wouldn't be convinced if it weren't for the best blacksmith "... I think it would be enough for Mr. Beltram's workshop right now, because I don't know what material to use this time, and there will be requests from the Branch Managers... of course, we will pay for the remodeling in the guild"

My headache hit me again. I said, "Got it. I'll take care of you," he said, for now, giving up thinking any more.
