Dream Life

Episode VIII: The Concept of Consideration

Tria history November 5, 2017.

The Scots returned with a regular distillery flight (Scotch liner). It's a pleasure to be back safely, but blacksmith Guild Welburn Branch Clerk, Johnny Water, brought troublesome stories to me.

The Dwarf blacksmiths here in the village of Lasmore will try their arms around the distribution of the Zack collection. That “title” is made by my father, Masaias, and my grandfather, Govan.

It's a very pleasant story for the Lockhart family, so the way you say "trouble” is extremely rude, but it seems so troublesome to me that I'm going to have trouble next.

That being said, we have to clear this issue. I need to convince my father and grandfather first.

They are both rare and abnegation figures of the ruling class. Not that I have no appetite at all, but I do not accept contributions unilaterally without paying a legitimate consideration. They must receive “hundreds of millions of yen worth of weapons" for "free". That persuasion is what I do.

(How do I convince you, but you'll have to go from the front...)

That night, I go to my father's office and explain the situation to my father and grandfather.

As the story progressed, their expressions turned into flashy ones, shaking their heads over and over again. My father opened his mouth, "I mean..." and after a little while I started talking.

"If you have my understanding...... the Wellburn blacksmiths are trying to prove that they can make weapons that are unbeatable to the Ars blacksmiths themselves. For this reason not only Lord Dagenhardt, but also the blacksmith guild's master craftsman, Lord Ulrich Drexler, comes here. Because that purpose determines the distribution of liquor... and that weapon belongs to me and my father... that's what it sounded like, no doubt?

My father spoke to make sure one fact at a time that there was not much thought attached to the situation.

"Definitely with that perception. Jonathan Water says there will be“ at least ”five blacksmiths from Welburn and ten from Ars visiting here. But..."

When I hesitated to say beyond that, my father said, "Is there something still out there? No, from the way I said it earlier, I think I know somehow..." he said with an anxious look.

"No, I hope I'm wrong, but perhaps the number of blacksmiths will more than double..."

My grandfather said, "Why would you think that?," he said, "but immediately grumbled," Because there's a "Zack collection"?

"Whether it's Lord Ulrich or Lord Dägenhardt, it won't be easy to decide which members are going here to the village of Rasmore. As my uncle said, the original wine from the Zach collection sleeps like a mountain here."

The two get silent, but my grandfather groans, "Can't you say no?"

"This is not the way to distribute alcohol, but why don't you decide? In the first place, you can't just sell it to a blacksmith's guild."

"That's true...... for the time being, I think the majority of the Zack collection will be sold to our biggest customer, the Blacksmith Guild. He even said" buy it all out ”when he started making scotch. In a way, it is no exaggeration to say that the Dwarves“ grew Scotch ”. I think we should distribute it to them as much as we can in order to reward them for it... Of course, if distilled liquor were to be made outside of here, we would turn it around to other customers..."

So far, only distilled liquor has been sold to Ars's Blacksmith Guild headquarters and Periclitle's Inn “The Nest of the Arid Eagle," but the Zack collection, for the time being, was primarily meant to be sold to Ars.

At the dawn of Scotch, the blacksmiths of Ars kept me waiting for Scotch.

I am also grateful for saving the Lockhart family crisis. Of course, it's a very small amount, but I'm also going to sell it to Periclitle, and I was thinking of distributing the right amount to the Wellburn branch. But I haven't really thought about it because I haven't found a reliable wholesale destination elsewhere.

In another decade, Scotch will be made even in Ars and Wellburn, so I guess we will be looking for other selling destinations, but so far we cannot increase the number of selling destinations in relation to demand and supply.

My grandfather said, "Even so. The Dwarves won't complain if you distribute it fairly in the amount you think is appropriate," but I shook my head small.

My father says, "Wouldn't the blacksmiths listen if it were your words," but I shake my head sideways again.

"This time we're not talking about simply deciding on the distribution of alcohol for the blacksmiths. Because their insistence is hanging. I want the world to know that I have the arms I deserve to drink the" Zack Collection ”. I suppose that's what you think."

My grandfather said, "Wouldn't it still be necessary for Nong et al to receive the weapons?"

"The blacksmiths seem to think," Weapons are made to suit those who use them, not just to make them. "As you can see from our arsenals, we make the best things according to the characteristics of each individual. So he wants to confirm with his uncle and father's weapons, familiar with Welburn..."

They both shook their heads small and didn't look very convinced.

So when I say, "I think the real purpose is something else," you can't think of either of us, tilting your neck.

"Perhaps the purpose of the blacksmiths in Ars is“ to drink to get a real scotch ”. especially Lord Ulrich."

My fathers say nothing with a frightened face.

I've decided to come up with a proposal to convince my fathers here.

"The blacksmiths of Ars, especially Lord Ulrich, want to come here. But you're in a position, so come on, you can't leave Ars. They want pretexts like this one."

"Even so, I can't accept Mithril or Adamantite's sword for free."

I nod at it and keep talking.

"Materials are brought in the best from Ars. In that case, the weapons made by Lord Dägenhardt and his men will be comparable to those of Lord Ulrich and Lord Gaelknote. A sword could wield hundreds of thousands of C (krona) at a time, and a full line of protective equipment could be one million C. The Lockhart family can't pay for it in cash."

"Of course," my father nods.

Million C (krona) is equivalent to one billion yen in Japanese yen. Lockhart Territory's cash income is more than two million a year from Scotch. This means that the two men's weapons alone could exceed that amount.

"Even if you could pay, the blacksmiths wouldn't receive it. But what about what the blacksmiths want?"

The two seem to have noticed right away. My father groans, "Is it booze?"

"Yes, there are a few" eleven years "here that have been distilled on a trial basis. Whether it's good or not, I'm not going to sell this barrel at the moment, so I was wondering if you'd like me to drink that."

My grandfather said, "But it still doesn't match. In swords and liquor made by superior craftsmen......"

"If you go out and sell an eleven year old scotch, you'll probably get a value of tens of thousands of C (krona) a barrel. Maybe more than 100,000."

The two of them lost their words to too much forehead.

"At the time the barrel was a hogs-head barrel for ale, so it's over two hundred litres. It's down somewhat because it's older, but if you sell it one hundred cc at a time with a glass, you'll get a thousand and five hundred cups. Even a cup of 100C will be 150,000 C. If the Dwarf blacksmith is the opponent, he can sell it for 100 cents."

My father shook his neck sideways, "Still, I guess it's perfectly commensurate," he said. A glass of 100C means 100,000 yen. They're going to tell me it's some kind of bogus bar, but I can sell it for sure if I actually put it up for sale. What's more, it's a story that can move a blacksmith's guild, and it's worth it that can't be replaced with gold. If you're around the commercial guild of Aurelia, you'd be happy to serve even a few times that.

That's not all. Rarity will increase year after year because there are originally only a dozen barrels and the more you drink the less you drink. I can't imagine how much it would be if there were rumors like "phantom 3006". So I wasn't going to sell out 11 years old, 3006 years old.

"It's the oldest distillery in the world. Drink it and it will definitely decrease. So, as an item that can't be replaced by gold, I'm sure you'll be pleased. And of course, it's not just this, but a lot of hobbies, and we strive to give you satisfaction that you can't buy with gold."

My grandfather groaned, "Can't we replace it with gold..."

"Surely the Dwarf blacksmiths are probably better off drinking than gold. If you throw away the idea of paying with money, Zach's idea could be a good one."

What I was thinking was getting my fathers to change their minds. Typically, the consideration for weapons such as swords and protective equipment is paid in cash, even by emperors and kings.

Other works of art, for example, sometimes offer honor, such as a knight's title, but the Dwarves do not want such objects, so they receive them in plain cash as a legitimate consideration.

But if it means consideration, you don't have to stick to cash. Especially if it's what a Dwarf blacksmith wants, it's well worth the price. The point is, if you think the other person is going to be good enough, you think it's okay.

"Sure. I would also rather have my family and residents live happily ever after than my status and honor. If you think about it, should the blacksmiths think about it if they want to?"

When I snort at my father's words, he confirms his grandfather's intention, "Is that okay with you, Father?" My grandfather nodded loudly, too. My father turned to me,

"If the blacksmiths give us the best weaponry, we must be more than satisfied. You're the only one who can tell that. Whatever is in the realm, you may use it as you please. I can't shake my sleeve without it, but if I think I need you, I'm gonna get the most out of it."

"Okay. I won't hang a lot of money, but I'll make sure I'm satisfied."

When my father said, "I left it to you," my grandfather asked with a slightly puzzled face, "By the way," he said.

"It's a good idea to welcome the Rockhart family by citing their total strength... I like that welcome and am worried that they will continue to give me weapons... they are Dwarves, not even if they can do anything abrupt..."

I couldn't answer that question.

(If you do welcome Ulrich or Dägenhardt, the story is passed on to the whole world. In that case, the branches of the National Blacksmith Guild might even say it's their place. No, if they're Ulrich, they don't necessarily want to come themselves but burn them for it. Dwarves don't know what to do when booze is involved...)

My silence caused subtle air to flow between the three of us. My father seemed to think the same thing.

He then gave Johnny a heartfelt look when he reported that his father and grandfather persuaded him well.

"It really helped. If you two don't admit it, what happened... you can write to the Branch Manager later and we're done for now."

"By the way," he says to Johnny, who is relieved, "what is it," he tilts his neck.

"You're five from Wellburn. There are ten Ars. That's what Ulrich said."

I felt sorry for Johnny for this question, who thinks he finally got a load off his shoulder, but I can't possibly not. Johnny replied, "I don't know," with a sad face,

"Probably, but I was wondering if I could double it... I hope it's my mistake..."

Johnny's predictions were the same as mine. I look up to heaven and exhale hoo.

When I say, "I want to ask you one more thing..." Johnny says, "Do you have anything yet?"

"No, I hope I'm wrong, but I was wondering if the other branches would think the same thing after the Welburn branch. Didn't Ulrich tell you about the neighborhood?

Johnny was slightly vacant wondering how to answer.

"... No, I didn't ask. But at least I was wondering if the Periclitle branch would raise its hand..."

This was the same as I expected. We already sell Scotch in Periclitle, so if we listen to the Wellburn branch, we should always think of ourselves as well. Later it is possible that Fonce, king capital of the Kingdom of Lax, and the branch of Primus, imperial capital of the Caerm Empire, will raise their hands.

However, the Fonce branch has seen the Empire and the Kingdom of Lax in a state of quasi-war - ceased in 2990, but the Empire has invaded Lax many times since then. There has recently been a massive armed clash in 310 - so it is likely that the Royal Government will not issue a permit.

It is also likely that Primus will not be granted permission this time because of the distance and the longer absence of the blacksmiths.

However, this is a common sense idea, and they are Dwarves whose common sense does not work. Whatever happens, it's not weird.

After breaking up with Johnny, mental fatigue struck me. I sit straight on the ground.

(How did this happen? Justify the Zack collection...... no, I'm glad you appreciate it too much. The aim of spreading the scotch I had in mind would be achievable... but I feel a little strange heading in the right direction. I thought distilled liquor was a strategic supply before, but now it's more than that... if you look at our arsenal, you'll see, but a knight's house with all this gear, no, it wouldn't even be in the Duke's class. I have a bunch of national treasure weapons. That's still about to increase. The consideration is booze... is this okay...)

I was on my way. Given what lies ahead, it would be comforting if the equipment of my grandfather and father were updated and, furthermore, the equipment of the squire, who was the Lord, were replaced by superior objects. It's not my grandfather's word, but if my grandfathers had the same class of weapons as the sword I had, it's possible that even the dragon "Dragon" could be defeated.

(If Master Jitsu had this Adamantite magic sword, he would be the most powerful warrior in the world. It should have been the second half of the seventies on a level, but not many of them have all this gear. Even I can cut off a normal sword. We just have to keep avoiding attacks we can't take with our swords and shields, or we'll have to take the lead and push them off. A swordsman like me would be able to do that, but being superior to each other won't be that easy... if you really use a magic sword even with my level of arms, you should be able to fold the knife too...)

I know when I try to fight, but I feel more of a difference in levels when I have lower levels. Even with the same level difference, you will hardly be an opponent at levels 5 and 10, but depending on the compatibility between you and your opponent at levels 45 and 50, you may also win at level 45 better.

This is not the absolute value of the level difference, but the difference in ratio seems to be working. Looking at levels 10 to 5, the ratio varies as much as fifty percent. If this is the ratio difference between level 50 and 45, it's only 10 percent.

Applying this relationship to my grandfather, assuming it's level 75, it's possible to win against a level 90 opponent if he has a 20 percent skill difference, but only an instrument that overrides that 20 percent skill difference.

So back to the Ulrich sword I got this time, I feel like this sword is sensibly capable of increasing my skill to five increments. In my case, level 45, it means we can fight each other with a superior swordsman of level 70 or so.

When super-class magicians like Walt and Beatrice are opponents, it won't be easy with the range difference between spears and swords, but if you're willing to fight to kill them, even your grandfather and Nicholas are confident that you can take one or so of their arms.

Applying this to my grandfather would outnumber a level 100 swordsman. Of course, I can't simply compare them because I've never used mass products like those sold there by the Level 100 strong man Tsuwako, but that's what I feel like using them.

In other words, you're going to get a weapon that can be so enhanced.

(I feel like if the squire who was our lord got super first-rate blacksmith's arsenal, he could even defeat the enemies of the gods... maybe this time it's aid from the gods...)

Johnny told the General Headquarters of the Blacksmith Guild in Ars that his grandfather and father had accepted, and also sent the Welburn branch the news that an arms test betting on the allocation of the Zack collection will take place in the village of Lasmore next spring.
