Dream Life

Episode Twenty: The Leap

Time goes back about two months.

I, Jonathan Water, an employee of the Blacksmith Guild Welburn Branch, was extremely busy when the year of Tria's 3017 dawned.

There's only one reason. Because the blacksmiths at the Wellburn branch were in command of the construction of the workshop to be used.

Nearly fifty craftsmen worked beside a blacksmith in the village of Rasmore, a Bertram master's workshop, sweating in the glistening snow. They were craftsmen such as carpenters and leftists from Ars in the Kaum kingdom, and veterans with many blacksmiths. I command and support those craftsmen, but all of their responsibilities lay on my shoulders.

"We have to finish it in two months! For that matter, the bonus will play! Good luck everyone!

In my voice the craftsmen said, "Ooh!" and responds well. Initially in the middle of winter, it was also a rural site that could be called a border, so the artisans' morale was low, but the fact that the blacksmith's guild, Mr. Ulrich Drexler, himself bowed his head to them, "Please," made it seem that the artisans with whom the blacksmith's guild was associated were motivated to go out with Russia.

Speaking of blacksmith guild master craftsmen, he also has comparable powers to kings. The craftsmen, who usually never met with the master craftsman, seemed proud that the master craftsman bowed his head to them.

The work itself is progressing well for what it's worth, and we have an estimate for it in time for mid-March, which is due to be completed.

While I was satisfied with that, I was wondering if there was any loophole in preparing the blacksmiths for acceptance at the Wellburn branch.

Arrangements for materials such as high quality steel and misrills, as well as rare magic metal adamantites rarely even seen by our blacksmith guild staff, have been completed without problems, and the tools ordered from Ars are also due to arrive before the completion of the workshop. Still, I felt something was missing and couldn't help it.

After finishing the day's work, I headed to Kanga Hill, where Lockhart Mansion is located, to talk to someone.

Already the sun falls and we climb the hill relying on the magic props of the lights, but we do not go straight to the mansion, but to the spicy building west of the mansion. The distance I was headed was the one where Master Zacharias Lockhart and the others lived.

So by chance, I met Lady Melissa Marron, who had completed her training. Master Melissa remains boneless leather armor, with a wooden sword in her hand, and looks like she's on her way to get dressed.

"I'm sorry for your tiredness," he said, bowing his head. "I need to talk to Master Sharon," he told him about the matter.

"Is it Sharon? Not Master Zach," he tilts his neck, but I nod loudly, "Yes, Master Sharon, please. It won't take that long," I told you again.

"Okay. I'll call you because I still have time for dinner. Wait a minute," he says, flirting and entering the building. A few minutes later, Master Sharon Jakes appeared feathering a knitted cardigan in a simple white piece.

I bowed my head, "I'm sorry in the cold," he said. Lady Sharon asked with a peeping glance, "That's okay... but she wants to talk to you about something."

"I need to talk to you...... won't it come true to have your time tomorrow morning"

Lady Sharon said, "Yeah, I'm fine. Are you talking about the blacksmiths?" and I can smile.

I was breathing out relief in my heart. Again, this person understands.

Tell him you're right, "I feel like there's something missing in the blacksmiths' readiness to accept. I'd like to talk to you about that tomorrow," he added, bowing his head again.

"Isn't Master Zach better? I'm sure he could use some time before training."

I shook my head in response to Sharon's inquiry.

"Master Zacharias is very busy, and I'm not going to bother you any more about the blacksmiths... if I say that, I will bother Master Sharon too," he explains.

Master Sharon was satisfied with the words, he smiled softly and said, "If it's okay with me, call me anytime," and walked into the building.

The next day around 9: 00 a.m. I was in a guest room away from the mansion. There was not only Master Sharon, but also Master Melissa.

Lady Melissa said, "I wonder if there's anything I can do. But I'm gonna go train in a little while, so I can't stay much," he laughs.

As there is no particular difference, I immediately go into business.

"The construction of the workshop is going well, but I felt like I had forgotten something. That's what I can't think of."

Master Sharon nodded small and asked as many questions as he could think of.

"You don't have any problems with materials or tools, do you? Have you arranged a place to stay or something to eat after that?... No escorts in this village, but any meticulous care for cleaning?

The question fell within the scope of the assumption. I answer to flow.

"Materials and such have already been arranged. Accommodation places also have accommodation buildings in the workshop, so 25 blacksmiths and a few guild staff are fine. The meal is arranged for the village housewife to take turns. If the staff does the cleaning, it shouldn't be a problem…"

Master Sharon seems to have noticed something there. He had opened his big adorable eyes even wider.

"What about alcohol? Aren't you in trouble without alcohol?

I was also calm about the question. Because securing alcohol as a Blacksmith Guild official is an initial step.

"The workshop will be equipped with a warehouse dedicated to alcohol. Even large barrels can store ten or twenty well."

Master Sharon asked, "Where are you going to get that alcohol?" He was further asked. I got there and finally realized my mistake.

"I was thinking of making arrangements in this village… later in the neighborhood of Kilnarek or Bogwood…"

So I cut the word. And I turned down from my impudence.

If you're in a city like Welburn, no matter how many Dwarf blacksmiths are whaled, you'll never run out of booze. Of course, each workshop had its own brewery, which the Alliance rarely procured independently except for special events. For that reason I have overlooked the most important.

The village of Rasmore is famous for its winemaking, but it is a small village of less than eight hundred people. Kilnarek is also a regional city of about three thousand people, and Bogwood is a smaller town than Kilnarek. Neighboring villages also seem to have grown richer over the past few years, but until about a decade ago I hear they were poor enough to have starved to death.

"... This is probably what I was wondering. The fact that there are twenty-five blacksmiths requires less than half a barrel of wine per barrel of barley per day. Even if I can provide you with a scotch, thirty barley drinks and ten wine in a month… If the blacksmiths of each city add to this, the liquor around here will be completely depleted…"

I dropped my shoulder disappointingly. "I'm glad you noticed here," Master Sharon smiles in a bright voice, not seeing my expression. But I shook my neck sideways in those words and couldn't hide my discouraged expression.

"Around here, you won't be able to do without buying it at Periclitle. Whether to ask the Norton Chamber of Commerce but in time to arrange this much quantity is critical......"

The city of adventurers, Periclitle, is a large city with a population of over 50,000.

It is also a commercial city where the main three streets of Aurelia Street, Ars Street and Fonce Street meet, and naturally there is also a large distribution of liquor, a preference.

However, the city of adventurers also consumes a lot, and it is up to the arms of the merchants to ensure high quality items in large quantities.

The Norton Chamber of Commerce that I am going to ask for this time is the Chamber of Commerce that is buying Scotch from the village of Rasmore and wholesale it to Periclitle, and the chairman, Henry Norton, is a solid but more of a dealer merchant than I thought. I hear that Master Zacharias reached out to help as soon as possible when he fell into distress in Thornbrough's city in October.

Even so, blacksmiths cannot be confident that they will be able to secure the amount of alcohol they consume.

This time, the blacksmiths who visit this village are in the parent class. Naturally, alcohol also requires a high quality. It would be the blacksmith guild employees and workshop clerks who understand that, and then like Zacharias.

The only salvation is that the Norton Chamber of Commerce is wholesale of Scotch, so there is an understanding of Dwarf blacksmiths and adventurers. But you can't expect me to plan for that.

When I was distressed, Master Sharon said, "How about having all the blacksmiths bring it?" It was suggested.

And Melissa, who kept her mouth shut until then, said, "That's good. Not just Welburn, but Pericritle, Doctus, Aurelia, Fortis, Ars, and Primus. I think Master Zach would be happy if we gathered all kinds of alcohol," he stands up and endorses.

Master Sharon also stood up and said, "I like that. Mel, that's just great," he was happy to meet his hands.

Seeing you like this convinces me that you are both still mid-teenage girls, but you are both quaternary adventurers, i.e. adventurers who are not strange to be called veterans. I still can't wipe the discomfort.

That idea is too much of a head, but now I switch my mind that we should focus on this issue. Although anxiety does remain in terms of long-distance transport, temperatures would not be as high in March to April, and the quality of alcohol would be unlikely to deteriorate.

All you have to do is increase the wagon load by about ten kilometers when it comes to transportation. We would otherwise need more escorts to go with it, but there are no stupid bandits attacking carriers carrying “booze” with the Blacksmith Guild crest on them.

At least it shouldn't exist on Aurelia and Ars streets. Of course, we intend to take into account the safety of the blacksmiths and attach adequate escorts, but there is no need to increase them to the extreme.

"Sure, then it's possible to secure booze. And the blacksmiths would be happy to compare it to a drink."

So my expression finally loosened. And watching the two girls take their hands and rejoice at each other, I was smiling that these two really loved Master Zacharias. I understand that that would be more pleasant, and I don't get any rash toward it.

I stood up, bowed my head, said, "Thank you for your time," and tried to walk away. But I said, "I need to talk to you, too, or I need a favor. May I have a few more minutes," said Master Sharon.

I lean my neck in my heart wondering what it was, but I do not speak of it and lower my back to the chair again.

"Around the corner, there's a bunch of alcohol going on in a lot of places. So how about a festival?"

I was wondering if there would be a story without more clapping. But Master Sharon's suggestion was not so uncomfortable. I said, "That's good," without thinking deeply.

"So please, I want you to do this festival under the auspices of the Blacksmith Guild."

Master Sharon has complained that way with a serious look on his face. I don't understand why you're suing me with a serious look and say, "I don't mind that. Probably because I would agree with the chief craftsman," he replied. Before confirming the doubts I just felt, I decided to confirm the meaning hosted by the Alliance first.

"Why is it guild sponsored? This is the Lockhart family territory, so I think it would be better if your lord held it?

"If we're going to have a liquor festival here, the hall will always tell Zach to divide it up... he's very busy right now, so I don't want to burden him any more. But Master Zach loves the alcoholic event..."

I fell to my heart with that answer.

Master Zacharias has been very busy building walls in Kanga Hill and training with vigilantes. Since returning here, he has also been involved in improving the quality of long-running liquors, in close meetings with Mr. Scott.

its a way to improve its quality but its so hard for me to understand. For this reason, almost Master Zacharias has compiled the material by himself, explaining it not only to Master Scott, but also to the other two Distillation Officers, Brandon and Calvert.

Though a genius, a fifteen-year-old boy, no, even a normal adult, works too much if he works so much. Our blacksmith guild staff is also a pretty hard place to work, but they have had a harder day than that.

I guess Master Sharon was conceived to have such fun with Master Zacharias. In fact, Master Melissa, lying next to him, says, "I like that," and she grins and nods with a full face.

I also continue to take care of Master Zacharias. If you can give it back with something, it's nothing enough to get a little more work.

"If that's the case, I'll be happy to coordinate with General Headquarters. Leave it to me."

Lady Sharon had a relieved look on her face and bowed her head, "Thank you," she said. I panicked and said, "No thanks. Say whatever I can," he says.

"Then there's just one more thing," said Lady Sharon.

"Please do not tell the Hall or Zach about this. Hopefully, until Mr. Ulrich and the others come from Ars."

For a moment I wondered if I was okay.

But if your lord finds out about this soon, you should tell him to stop it or tell Master Zacharias to compartmentalize it. Then I am convinced that the aim of having Zacharias enjoy it cannot be achieved to reduce the burden.

"Okay. I'll tell Ars and the other branches to keep this a secret because it's a surprise."

Master Sharon nodded loudly and this ended the discussion. I then immediately sent a letter to the General Headquarters and Welburn Branch.

At this time I had no idea what the consequences would be of this festival.

After Jonathan Water left, Melissa, who erased the grin that had floated until then, was asking Sharon a whispered question.

"What's the real purpose? Sure, Master Zach would love that, but that's not all."

Sharon smiles slightly and says, "I knew Mel would know," and speaks with a perky tongue.

"The blacksmith's guild is here (...) to inform the whole world of the fact that we are having a drink (...) festival in this village of Rasmore (...)"

Melissa doesn't know what that means and points her mouth "Tell me so I know". "I'm sorry," Sharon lowered her head small and began to explain.

"We'll sort things out first. First of all, Master Zach is most heartbreaking about Mr. Luna."

"Yes," Melissa nodded. Sharon nods back, too, and keeps talking.

"So Master Zach works so hard to build moats and walls."

"I can tell that," Melissa nodded loudly. "But what does that have to do with the festival?" I'll explain now, "Sharon smiled to Melissa's question.

"This is imperial territory, but it's an enclave. So, if an enemy appears that Master Zach cares about, the Empire won't protect him. It's not easy to help the neighboring Kaum kingdom because it's also imperial territory. And, of course, the Kingdom of Lax, which is at war with the Empire."

Melissa says, "Yeah, I know that..." and shakes her head, "But that's why..."

"But what if this is the protected land of the Blacksmith Guild? Instead of protecting the Lockhart family, protecting the Blacksmith Guild's sanctuary might help the Empire and the Kaum kingdom join hands."

Melissa roars "hmm".

"If the story spread that the Blacksmith Guild had a" alcohol festival ”here, it should look like the Guild is protecting this village. Whatever the fact is."

Melissa was not convinced by Sharon's explanation and said, "But even now, the Alliance's general headquarters says it will protect the distillation technology of the village of Rasmore. Besides, we should all know that Mr. Ulrich and Master Zach are getting along," he argues.

Sharon affirms, "Well," but continues to explain immediately.

"But the only thing the Alliance says it will protect is distillation technology. I'm just saying I don't want you to make weird pulls, too. So we need you to recognize that this is the place where we need to protect the land called the village of Rasmore (...). If there's a" booze festival ”in this village, everyone will know that the blacksmiths care about this village."

Melissa nods loudly and convinces him, "So the guild is hosting a festival, yeah, a" festival ”." Exactly, "Sharon nodded," you'd better say festival, "with an adult grin.

Does Melissa still care, "But you don't have to tell the Hall or Zach about it? Even if we decide on such an important matter alone..." he gives an uneasy look.

Sharon turns off his grin.

"This time the great man of the Empire... maybe the Marquis of Seawell and the Ladswell Border Uncle, and the Queen of the Kingdom of Kaum, will cause a great deal of trouble. These are the only people who can understand the story from the Blacksmith Guild... Neither the Hall nor Zach will be bothered by anyone else..."

So I declare it in a powerful tone for her.

"But I'm not! I would do anything to protect Master Zach! Analogy, scolded later, no, hated!

Melissa is surprised for a moment by that strong tone, but nods loudly that she is the same.

Sharon doesn't change his expression, "I really want Mr. Luna to be gone," he adds. Melissa was shocked by the words and muttered, "Why... you're always talking so gently..."

Sharon smiled softly again,

"I mean it, but I don't think I can do that. On the contrary, Mr. Luna thinks he needs to be protected in exchange for his life..."

Melissa is confused by Sharon's conflicting words. In a weak tone for her, she said, "Isn't that strange what you're saying?," he murmurs.

Sharon takes the story away by nodding small at it.

"Because if Mr. Luna is gone, Master Zach may be gone, too. I feel that if I don't fulfill the mission that God has given me, there will be disaster for Zach..."

Melissa also knows what Sharon is trying to say.

"So you're saying that if you don't protect Mr. Luna, heavenly punishment may fall from God. I mean, I have to protect Luna to protect Master Zach... you've been thinking so much..."

Sharon didn't answer that and changed the subject.

"I'll get back to it. That's why we're having a festival hosted by the Blacksmith Guild. And I have to ask Mr. Ulrich..."

Melissa said, "To Mr. Ulrich? Guild chief, but what?," leans his neck at Sharon's deliberate naming of Ulrich Drexler.

"In April, Mr. Ulrich or his deputy, Mr. Gaulknote, will be visiting. At that time..."

Sharon tells her own thoughts. Although Melissa was bewildered by the magnificent thought, at the end of the day she decided to be prepared.

"I'll help you with your last story, too. If Mr. Ulrich or Mr. Gaelknote comes here, I beg you. That's better," he said at the end with an adult grin.

"Yeah, please. I feel that Ulrich would be more convinced too...... I thought Mel would definitely understand" but with a slightly sad look he looks down "But if Master Zach finds out, Mel too......"

Melissa smiled sunny.

"I know. What Master Zach doesn't like about these things. But you should do it and regret it, rather than regret it. Besides, I don't think Master Zach would hate us for this."

"Right. But it's Mr. Johnny that's the hardest part. It's always going to be tough, but it's going to be especially tough this time."

When Sharon finished saying that, the two girls laughed out at the same time.
