Dream Life

Episode 40: Imperial Facts

Tria history September 1, 2018.

In the last two months or so, the acceptance of blacksmiths and distillers has progressed well.

The first distiller (pot stills) course begins in August at the Lasmore Training Institute and is studied by about thirty young dwarves. They are not only Ars, but Jung-young, in their twenties and early thirties, who have gathered from Periclitle and Doctus and even from the imperial capital Plymouth, who, after two years of training, return to their respective cities.

In July, three other blacksmiths came to the skilled (expert) course from Periclitle to Guiselhale. Furthermore, in August, Zergius and others from Doctus are coming to improve the magic team with a course for the skilled.

Zergius's sword-beating opponent was Gerald, a second-degree adventurer who was looked after until last year. Gerald himself said he wasn't willing to rebuild the sword, but he accepted Zergius' plea, which taught him a bitter laugh at the story then.

"I'm old enough to retire, too, but every time Zergius sees me, I don't want the money, so I say," Follow me. "I had no choice but to come. Well, one of the reasons I came to see the true darkness (Darkness) Demon Swordsman (Sword Wizard) is because I didn't think it was an evolutionary upgrade. Kukukuku...... hahaha!

Looks like he remembered my old two names when he looked at his gear, and at the end of the day he was holding his belly and laughing. I expected them to say it themselves, but it's still so embarrassing to be told these two names face to face.

Two more younger brothers I was listening to, Theo and Serra, said, "Two names for Brother Zach, cool! I say," so innocently, that no one in this village has become more famous. Probably because the merchants I heard at the Black Pond "Black Ruff" pavilion and so on make it a story all over there, they think it will spread all over Ars Street at once.

When I look familiar, Liddy laughs, "Give it up, Tigress." Beatrice says, "I'm a bitch." Tigress. "Isn't that better than that? I don't know what you don't like".

"Nobody gave me two names," says Dan.

Indeed, Liddy has two names: "Princess Ice and Snow (Blizzard Princess)".

Mel was also dubbed a "red-haired (red) sword ghost (fiaschode lady)" by his intense training during the Doctus period, and Sharon was also dubbed a "tornado" Tornado witch Little Witch "by virtue of her good use of blade tornado (Tornado Slash).

Dan was the inconspicuous one among us, so there were no two names in particular. Maybe the two names I don't need at all are what I want for a boy as good as Dan.

The plan to defend the village of Rasmore is also well under way.

All towers for air defense were also completed, and the number of crossbows, Ishiyumi, exceeded two hundred. Crossbows have been trained to be used by vigilante swordsmiths and magicians, and certain achievements have been made. In addition, housewives and other non-vigilante hopefuls, about two hundred people, are taught to handle it, and a fixed target of two or thirty meters away is a sufficient skill.

They also have a sense of crisis in last year's Oak commotion and are actively participating in training to protect their families, especially their children, but it is unknown whether it will work in action.

A newly developed misrill coating technology, but only Beltram can create satisfactory objects at present. Meena and the newly added Volkers are also learning, but they can't master moves that combine metallic magic with magic granting skills overnight.

Still, with forty Mithrill-coated swords, twenty spears, and two hundred Taiya Bolts, gradually, maintenance is progressing. As for the arrows, I tried to coat them in a jar, but they were too small to refuse.

Instead, I have about a hundred arrows with misrills on them. This is for a leading archer who said Hector Marron or Guy Jakes. As it stands, I have not even gotten around to protective equipment, but I believe that I will be able to get some numbers together within a few months.

Of the defensive plans, there has also been good progress on the rescue system from the Kingdom of Kaum. In early July, a request from the Blacksmith Guild arrived in Plymouth, the imperial capital of the Caerm Empire, followed shortly thereafter by an envoy from the Kingdom of Kaum. The negotiating desk on the imperial side became Marquis Seawell, as expected.

By virtue not only of the skillful bargaining skills of the Marquis of Seawell, but also of the active endorsement of the Chancellor, the Duke of Feelobisher, it was approved by the Senate in late July and has been adjudicated by the Emperor immediately.

The signing of the agreement with the Kingdom of Kaum took place in mid-August. And I have been contacted today that Marquis Clement Seawell and Viscount Ignacious Radford, the belly, will visit the village here in Lasmore.

Originally, the agreement itself would be between the Empire and the Kingdom, and the Lockhart family would only have to be notified, but the Marquis himself wanted to visit the village of Rasmore, and he deliberately extended his legs from Ars to this point.

I was more confused than surprised to hear that the Marquis himself was going to visit. The Lockhart family (of which) are only knights of creation and have few contacts with a senior nobleman named Marquis. Since his brother Rodrick is the daughter son-in-law of Borderline Uncle, he has more contact than any other knight, but not in such a way as to invite him to the territory.

Also, there is not enough facility here to accommodate important figures like the Marquis. Due to the policy of my grandfather and father, the Lockhart family mansion remains crude to a lesser extent than the farmers. The Queen of the Kingdom of Kaum is visiting the other day, but I don't pay much attention because it is an informal visit and the First Queen recognizes her as a member of the Dwarf rather than a royal family.

Especially when it comes to numbers. The Marquis' entourage is better than a hundred, including escorts. That's why it's so hard to secure a place to stay. Sometimes that happens, and I'm beginning to wonder if it's time to build a castle with my earthly attribute magic.

When we managed to secure the accompanying person's place of stay and finished preparing to welcome him, just a line of the Marquis arrived.

My father and brother greet and lead at the entrance to the village. Behind it comes a luxurious carriage protected by the knights through the hills. The villagers know that the Marquis Seawell family is cordial with the Lockhart family, and all the villagers welcome them in line on the road.

I'll pick you up at the mansion, but this is an official visit, so basically it's not my turn. Probably enough to give you a tour of the distilleries and reservoirs.

Inside the line was the figure of the old known Viscount Ignacious Radford. When I finished greeting him all the way, the Viscount called out.

"But, Sir Zacharias, don't get carried away," he said with resentful eyes. I don't know what you're talking about, and when I tilt my neck,

"Example Alcohol Review,“ Dwarf Festival. "Missing that one was the biggest failure of my life. There is still remorse left. If I'd listened in March, I wouldn't have been able to. But what was left here..."

When asked in detail, he heard that there was a liquor tasting, unlike the Dwarves who left Plymouth on their way back to the territory.

"I didn't even hear about it then," he said. "Did you prepare all those events in a month or so..."

He was then begged by the Viscount to bow his head and "if possible, let the Dwarves taste the dishes he behaved during this stay".

A titled nobleman, it also leads me to bow my head and panic from the head minister of the Marquis family.

"I can't do everything, but I'll arrange to get it out whenever possible"

Happy with the words, he walked into the mansion with his usual pleasant smile.

Once inside the mansion, the Marquis officially informed me that an agreement had been signed.

Later, in a soothing atmosphere, the opening of wines and distilleries from the Marquis Seawell territory is talked about. But when it comes to the story of the Imperial Army's offensive against Luke's Holy King, the atmosphere darkens at once.

"... to some extent I know, but I'm struggling harder than I thought. I'm oblivious to the military, but they're going to be adhesive for a few more months..."

The empire's offensive against Luke's Holy King was prompted by a plot against the northern governor, the Raswell Border Uncle. Luke assassinated Uncle Borderline's brother-in-law and plotted to use his further real brother, Viscount Tysburn, to make Uncle Borderline independent.

Coincidentally, we got caught up in it and the conspiracy could have been prevented. The Emperor ordered the troopers to march as punishment for Lukes. The main force behind this march was considered the Northern Governor's Office Army, but this was plotted by the nobles of the Imperial capital to cut off the power of the Borderline Uncle.

Twenty thousand of the Third Regiment of the General Prince Leopold and fifteen thousand troops of the Northern Governor's Office will be the total strength. The Siege Squad and the Court Mage Squad are not accompanied because we do not envisage this march until the Siege Battle.

Prince Leopold of the Third Legion is a young but brilliant commander and has done much in the battle against Lukes so far. In addition, the Northern Governor's Office Army is sufficiently skilled to find any elements to struggle with.

On the contrary, the Luke side has financial and transport anxieties due to the lack of cooperation from the commercial guild, which is a substantial sponsor. Even more strategically neglected denominational headquarters are likely to put horizontal spears on the battlefield, with few elements that can beat Luke's side.

When my grandfather points that out, he explains the facts that the Marquis may know.

"There certainly seemed to be an optimistic mood when marching from Lark Hill. In fact, they never got much resistance for about half a month after they started the offensive..."

Lark Hill is a fortified city on the border with Lukes, making it a base of offense against Lukes. From Lark Hill through the south side of the Moenia Mountains into Lukes, but there are no big cities near the border just with wilderness spreading.

The Imperial Army began its offensive on May 1st, marching about a hundred kilometers to literally go unmanned fields.

Luke wasn't arching his hand either. We deployed 50,000 troops where we pulled in the Imperial Army and were waiting.

Luke's power, however, was dominated by peasant militias with only poor equipment, not enemies of the Imperial Army, mainly cavalry. In just one day he defeated 50,000 enemies and proceeded further into the depths of the enemy land as he pursued them.

Luke's counter-attack began about a hundred and fifty kilometers from Lark Hill.

He built a defensive formation at the end of the main street heading to the Holy City of Paxlumen, where he had 30,000 troops. It accommodated more defeated allies and amassed more than 50,000 troops.

That's not the enemy of the Imperial Army, but this time the march stops because he hasn't accompanied a siege weapon or a team of court magicians. Still, its defensive position was not a permanent castle fortress, but a degree of impoverishment with horse fences lined up, and he was optimistic that the Imperial Army, which gained momentum, would be able to attack without bitterness.

Luke consolidates his defense by pushing the peasant militias forward freshly. The weapons of the peasant militias are spears, and the imperial cavalry is hard to break through, coupled with a horse fence installed in a narrow jar. He switched to a positive attack method by the infantry, Spearmen and Archers, but Luke's resistance was stronger than he thought.

The Imperial Army generals thought Luke was using a drug called "Lucidus blood” to distract peasant militia fears. As a result, he loosened his hand in the attack and moved on to a protracted battle. The effect of “blood of Lucidus” is a few hours, when it expires, it loses its power as it burns out. Also, if used continuously, not only will the dominant eye fall off, but the drug addiction makes him obsolete, and the power rapidly falls.

The imperial side expected this, but after a few days, Luke's morale never dropped. Though I sneak the interstate to find out why, the interstate never came back.

Furthermore, the Imperial Army's Heavy Forces will be under attack. So the Imperial side also realized that the Beast Slave Troops had begun a backward agitation as they hunted intermediates to block information. Still good in numbers and equipment, the Imperial Army keeps the Heavy Squad on guard, while proceeding with its attack.

About ten days after the onset of the offensive in Luke, he succeeded in capturing Luke's knight. That turns out why Luke's resistance was strong.

"... the Church handed out a fanatical clergyman as a commando. They magically shot a peasant soldier in the name of God trying to fall back in fright and did not allow him to take a step back. Especially a priest named Azaro flew the head of a peasant militia with the magic of a circle of light,“ He who draws here is the enemy of God. He declared that those who defy God will uproot all the clans ”. The peasants began to think it was better to be killed by their enemies, and no longer feared death..."

Looks like Luke created a commando like the former Soviet political officer "Commissar" and made the soldiers dead soldiers.

Priest Azaro is in his mid-thirties, but he is a high magician over level sixty who not only releases his magic from the top to break the cavalry from horse to horse, but also tells the soldier who loses his will to fight and flees, "Destroy the Divine Enemy!" He had planted a strong fear in imperial soldiers, such as throwing mercilessly arrows of light at them, screaming.

Still, the dominance of the militarily dominant Imperial Army was unwavering. Gradually, he attacked the defensive position and reached the top of the line in mid-June, about a month after the start of the offensive. Beyond it lies the cities and countryside of Luke. It is to damage Luke in this operation, and no permanent occupation is contemplated. For this reason, the offensive forces were planning to destroy and plunder in Luke's cities and villages and pull them up.

When the pinnacle was reached, the soldiers of the Imperial Army were convinced of victory. It was flat farmland and plains that spread beneath the eyes, because they were the battlefields the Imperial Army was best at.

Though Luke built a defensive formation at the exit of the river and showed the structure of a thorough anti-war, he was not an enemy of the Imperial Army with nearly 20,000 cavalry in a less handicapped flat, but crushed it in just one day.

Luke's army fled into the fortified city and consolidated their defenses. The Imperial Army attacks neighboring towns and villages in disregard of the fortified city. At this time, the Imperial Army generals were going to return after a few rough days because the remnants of the troops had also decreased, but Luke had fought back in an unexpected way.

"... His Highness Leopold said he sent battalion units to a relatively large town and squadron units to the countryside. But Luke has put up a terrible battle. The peasants suddenly attacked their weapons, whether they were women or children..."

The Imperial Squadron shall consist of one hundred men, five squadrons and five hundred men. With a population of about three to five hundred in the countryside, adult boys are conscripted and absent, so it is sufficient force if they simply plunder and destroy rather than occupy them. But Lukes apparently used women, children, and old men to wage guerrilla warfare.

The woman invites the soldiers into the bedroom to alert them, using the knife that had made them lurk, and the child approaches them by pretending to twist things, aiming at a gap in armor with a poisoned needle. The old men poisoned themselves as they helped cook it out.

Hundreds of units of soldiers were sacrificed in the first three days. The Third Corps burned the village in retaliation, and the inhabitants they found murdered without question, regardless of their women and children.

In late June, Prince Leopold worries about the situation and begins to think about withdrawing. However, although it caused some damage to the enemy forces and burned some twenty towns and villages, I wondered whether the effects could not be said to be sufficient for the purpose of punishment.

A showdown in the field is needed to make a big difference, but Luke is unlikely to respond to a field battle against his own army.

The prince thought that an attack on a religious establishment would also force the enemy to go out, destroying the churches of towns and villages, as well as targeting the diocese about thirty kilometers away. Further deliberately disseminate the information and encourage Luke's side to deploy.

Although Luke rode out on that provocation, he has responded beyond Prince Leopold's expectations.

They carried out Operation Scorched Earth.

Poisoned wells, springs and other water sources, and further set fire to forests and meadows. The operation was also considered a proposal by the Azaro priest, and Prince Leopold was surprised by the unique perseverance of the fanatics, who gave up the march and retreated until the

Still, Luke was more obstinate than the Imperial Army expected. It has been ambushed by the Beast Slave Squad against the retreating Imperial Army's Heavy Squads and wounded soldiers.

Soldiers' morale diminishes at once as hundreds of beastly slaves attack in the dark night. Prince Leopold was forced to retreat from Lark Hill to a plain about fifty kilometers.

"... this is the situation at the end of July. His Royal Highness Leopold is in a predicament. Fortunately, there has been no great damage to the Third Regiment or to the army of the Northern Governor's Office, but it is not surprising to be accused of fleeing without producing results. In fact, Luke's losses should be immeasurable, but the imperial political enemies will fortunately attack this..."

As the Marquis puts it, many rural areas have to be abandoned because the Lukes side carried out scorched-earth operations within their own territory. In addition, the Beastly Slave Squad, which can be described as the Tiger Son, has also been killed in battle on a 100-person basis, and has achieved sufficient results in view of the future decline in national power and combat power. There is no doubt, however, that Prince Leopold's reputation will be diminished as this troop outpost is a punitive operation seeking flashy results.

Prince Leopold's arms are to be praised by nature. Because they are attacking and winning enemy countries and further reducing their national power. Furthermore, the entire army has withdrawn while maintaining order against the attack of the Beast Slave Squad, which could be considered Luke's trump card. In previous battles, an ambush by dozens of Beastmen has destroyed a regiment of 2,000 men.

"I guess we can't go back to Empire City like this. Your Majesty should give you another march order after autumn. The enemy will gather his strength as well, but His Highness won't be enhanced. It involves mentz..."

Forecasts by military experts in Teito meant it could be prolonged until around next spring.

(If the northern governor's office army can't return until next spring, Aurelia Street will be even less secure I guess...)

The decline in security on the streets of Aurella is not directly related to the village of Rasmore, but if this situation continues, good mercenaries and adventurers could head for Aurella from the eastern region close to the Aquila Mountains. If the Demons came over Aquila in that situation, the kingdoms of Kaum and Lax would not have to know, and Pericritle would not be able to react instantly.

(I hope this isn't the work of the enemies of the gods... the unpleasant feeling doesn't go away...)

I responded to Viscount Radford's request and sifted through the dishes he had made at the Liquor Quality Review, but was hesitant to serve pizza, hamburgers and other junk food to senior aristocrats like the Marquis.

Tell the Viscount about it, "I don't think it's even as nasty a dish as you say?" He leaned his neck, "There is no such dish in the Empire either. I want you to make sure you serve the only dish you can eat here".

In the end, they give out everything that can be reproduced, such as Fish and Chips and Gelato.

The Viscount, eating it, said, "I did what I really spared. If it goes with the best liquor the Dwarves have chosen for their selection......" he muttered, "I would love for you to call me to the next Dwarf Festival. I will always participate, no matter what obstacles," he bows his head greatly, despite being in front of the Marquis, his lord.

With the Marquis laughing as he saw it,

"I'm sorry, but you have to do what Ignacious wants. It was tough when I came back in April. I've been told many times that you came all the way home to report it to me. I can't stop being foolish any more."

The words erupted unexpectedly.

"I would love to invite Master Ignacious to participate as a judge. Because only Ignacious is the enemy of Dwarves' obsession with alcohol."

To my words, "No, let the judges shy away. I'm not buying the Dwarves' grudges," he said. Everyone on the spot laughs at the trick.

Peaceful time had passed, and one line of the Marquis of Seawell left for Imperial Capital after a two-day stay.
