Dream Life

Episode 41: Attack

Tria history October 12, 318.

One year after rescuing Luna, the one sent more than the gods. I still keep my mind closed and I can't even talk. I'm starting to think it might be time to take some action.

I'm also concerned about Luna's state of mind, but more than that.

There has been something wrong with the demons in the Aquila Mountains for the past month or so.

There were also anomalies during the movement of the herd of orgs and oaks eleven years ago. Last time, a relatively weak demon came down to escape from the mountains, but this time the anomaly was that flying demons such as Feilong, Wyburn, and the winged lion, Griffon, could be seen swirling around the top of Aquila.

This information was found by a reconnaissance team in the village of Rasmore and is first revealed by telescopic surveillance. Just in case, we're spreading information all over the place through the Adventurer Guild, but so far there's no strange information in there.

There was no information that there were anomalies, not even in Periclitle, which operates near the Aquila Mountains, or in Riccadale, its frontline. However, it is possible that Pericritle has simply not been able to confirm Riccardale's information.

Last month, I also had something to do with the information I got from the Marquis of Seawell, but the punitive march to Luke has prolonged and the Imperial Northern Governor's Office army is still not back. For this reason, security on the western side of Aurelia Street is deteriorating, with brilliant adventurers and mercenaries being loaned to escort the merchants.

Periclitle and Rickadale are the ones most affected by this. Many excellent adventurers of the second and third grades have been pulled from these two places, making it impossible to even fully accomplish the intermission of demons constantly descending from Aquila. As a result, the burden of excellent scouts exploring the situation in the Aquila Mountains from Rickadale has increased, and they are unable to gather sufficient information.

Nor do the adventurers of PericLittle or Rickadale have the telescope used by the Village of Lasmore vigilante. Although there are elves with excellent vision, they could have missed out on the multiplier of the telescope without rivalry.

Telescopes are not popular because I dare to keep secrets about telescopes and other tools available for human battle. This is to fear that the war will intensify with the tools I have created, so that science and technology will not develop as much as possible except for what can magically be substituted.

It's the reason I keep it secret, but my selfishness is the primary reason I don't want to change this world. Of course I do it ready to be criticized.

The only thing that bothers me is that I feel whispered in my heart that I shouldn't do this. I don't feel manipulated, but I myself, when I was in Japan, didn't have strong restraints in preserving culture and traditions, and I feel strange.

Turning back, I have already discussed Aquila's anomaly with my father and his squire. However, it is dangerous to enter the cheaply steep Aquila mountains, a situation in which, as things stand, there is only one hand that can be struck to enhance the reconnaissance of the foothills.

However, all that could be done was to do it, so the training envisaged enemy raids had been intensified. In particular, the evacuation training of the inhabitants has been carried out twice, confirming that in an emergency, all the villagers can be evacuated within an hour. Sometimes just after the harvest period, food reserves are sufficient, and now even if all the villagers have evacuated to the hills of the museum with their bare hands, they can be castles for two months.

I think I'm doing everything I can to get ready, but I'm in a hurry to see if there's really a loophole.

"You can't help it if you're in a hurry," Liddy told me, adding that Beatrice said, "We're here, too. Don't hold me alone," enough to be told.

And in the last few days, the same phenomenon was being reproduced as it was eleven years ago.

First, weak demons such as Spear Deer "Speadia" and Horn Rabbit began to appear around the village. Further north as the flock of goblins fled, the footprints of relatively large demons, such as the gray bear Krizley and the swordtooth tiger Sabertiger, were also heading north.

This information is immediately communicated to the Adventurer Guild and the Mercenary Guild branches in Kilnarek, and further through the defense forces of the town of Bogwood in the Kingdom of Kaum, as well as to the Royal Government.

My grandfather and father raised the alert level and also made the reconnaissance to the East Forest a three-squad system. They also order the villagers to prepare for evacuation, as well as members of the vigilante to carry their weapons at all times.

The long idleness disappeared shortly after the harvest festival, and the tingling air wrapped the entire village.

October 20th. It began abruptly.

As he headed to the training ground to begin his afternoon training, the bell of the tower for air defense, which serves as a viewing deck next to the mansion, was violently rang. The sound is nothing more than a signal of enemy assault.

My father runs to the tower to check the situation amidst the sound of a bell that is struck with Cancun. My brother and I follow my father. Behind him, he had ordered the vigilante, whose grandfather and his squire were waiting, to guard the gates of Kanga Hill.

A vigilante who came down when he reached the tower for air defense began reporting.

"It's red smoke on the wolf smoke table! Location is number ten!

The wolf smoke table I built was numbered, and I was trained to identify which wolf smoke table.

"Number ten! You're the closest wolf smoke table to Aquila! Zach, I'm pretty sure the scouts around here are Dan."

I enter the tower answering the question of my father's confirmation, "No doubt about it". Head up a spiral staircase with the vigilante in mind. When I arrived on the top floor, I was just out of breath, but I immediately took out the telescope and pointed it at the wolf smoke table.

Cloudy skies and a little hard to see, but the red smoke does rise straight up.

"Definitely, Father. I mean, how much power do you have after that... should I go out for reconnaissance?

Red wolf smoke is the highest level of alert, indicating that villagers need to be evacuated immediately. But that's not the only way to know how dangerous it is. I was going to go on a reconnaissance myself to get more information.

"Wait for Dan's report. You wait here with Lydia and Sharon."

"But…" he tried to argue, "you are the greatest force in this village," blocked,

"Dan is an excellent scout. Be sure to bring the information back alive. So, trust him," he told me.

I noticed blood on my head. Until then, the build-up of haste seems to have caused me to lose my chilling judgment and think that I have to do something about it.

"Okay. Dan would be letting someone have information and heading this way. It's not too late to wait for that and then think of measures. Let's get the villagers evacuated first."

My father told the vigilante on the lookout, "Watch out for other wolf smoke platforms. If you need anything, report it immediately," he ordered and went down the tower.

As soon as I got out of the tower, I called my brother and Sim Marron,

"Let those who can ride horses guide the villagers. You guys look around the house and ask to see if there are any sick people, old people, or children left."

Through the side my father is commanding my brothers to join Liddy and the others. I'm wearing protective gear to do the afternoon training and I'm all set.

Briefly explain what I checked at the viewing stand.

"It was red wolf smoke. I don't know how much enemies, but if Dan returns, we should have information. Until then, we'll just have to prepare as we train."

Liddy replies, "Okay," and Beatrice laughs niggly, "I'm ready." Sharon snorted silently and equally as Mel nodded loudly, "So am I."

"Liddy needs you to stay with me. Beatrice must have been instructed by his uncle. Follow that."

And stood before Mel and Sharon,

"Look at Luna and do it. I'm going to leave it to my mother and sister-in-law when the enemy arrives, but now I'm worried I'm going to panic like before"

I don't know if this time the enemy targeted Luna. But I don't know what happens when the spirits of darkness run wild, as it was in the village of Thysek.

Plus, I'm thinking about her state of mind, trying not to be as well informed as I can that I'm being targeted. It was difficult to explain what was going on because of this, and she asked the two people she trusted to reassure her.

"Okay. I'll try to stick with Mr. Luna as much as I can," Mel said, and Sharon also "I'll tell Mr. Luna it's no big deal," he drew my attention.

Touching their heads pompous, they headed straight for the mansion.

Two hours after the wolf smoke went up, around 3: 00 p.m., I was looking around the hall hill.

The evacuation of the villagers is already almost over and has been gathered in schools that have become shelters except for members of the vigilante.

The old men and housewives talk secretly with an anxious face, and the young children run around energetically thinking it was some kind of event. In addition, in the meadows on the west slope, livestock brought in by the villagers were eating grass at leisure.

In the meantime, my father pulled Enos Vassel over to school.

"I don't know the details yet, but I hear a bunch of demons are on their way here. But don't worry! None of the walls here can be broken, even though they are august, and they have enough weapons and enough food. Sometimes you'll be anxious, but I want you to believe us and act like you're trained."

The villagers also have a relief look on their father's words.

"Probably will be staying here today. As trained, school buildings and training grounds give priority to the sick and the elderly and young children. The tent shall be ready immediately. I'll drop by Tanya later and let me know if you have any problems."

When I said that, I walked up to the gate with Enos.

The villagers began to move tightly, feeling somewhat relieved by my father's words "as trained”.

The last of the villagers to evacuate were the Scots and distilled liquor makers. Unfortunately, he was in the middle of distillation, so he ended it. They also entered Kanga Hill around 3: 30 p.m. and the evacuation of all villagers ended.

Around 4 p.m., a young man who was on reconnaissance came running to the mansion. He was Rob's son Davi, a hunter. He is sixteen years old, like me, but already has the style of a one-man hunter with a disappointing body conceded by his father.

That he leaves his rough breath on one knee in front of his father and starts reporting.

"Ha-ha-ha... from the young lady of Jakes... ha-ha-ha... it's a decree! Ha ha..."

My breath is totally up and I can't spin words.

"Tricia! Water him! Good luck, Davi. Just take your time. Calm down and give me a message from Dan."

Davi nods loudly and takes a deep breath when I say so. When Tricia hands a goblet with water, it drinks up all at once.

"Excuse me. Then it's Jakes' young lady's word.“ Corpse eater Ghoul and skeleton are filling the forest. The number is unknown. Confirm the entire Knight Without a Neck (Durahan) who seems to be in command. Investigate further details before returning ”!

My father said, "Thank you,"

"Ghoul and Skeleton fill the woods..." he mutters and confirms to Davi, "You're on your way here".

Davi replied yes,

"Master Dan said we might reach the village again tonight."

When my father nods at it, my grandfather asks questions on his behalf.

"You saw a knight without a neck. Have you seen any other unusual demons?

"I feel like there was a white ghost (ghost) in the sky," Davi replied, "I haven't seen anything else. Excuse me," he bowed his head.

My grandfather praised me, "It's not enough to just bring that information," as I looked at my father.

"Matt, it sounds like you should step up your security immediately," he adds.

My father nodded at it, too,

"Right. We'll get a little more information if Dan returns, but now it looks like we should take care of the ghost," he said, turning to his squire.

"Tell each of your men what's going on. Night is the real deal. Instruct them to rest until the enemy arrives," he ordered.

Nicholas Garland, Byron Seedorf, Enos Vassel and Will Keegan made a clean salute to their men.

My father turned to Sim and said, "I might get Bogwood to run. Get ready," he says. They're going to request rescue from the Kingdom of Kaum after checking on Dan's information.

When I entrusted my grandfather with the command of this occasion, he said he would write a letter for the rescue request and headed to the office.

My grandfather follows Walt Vassel, the squire head, to the sight, and my brother goes with Sims to the stables to make sure he is ready for the horseback riding squad.

When we were the only ones left, my mother Tanya looked worried.

"I hope it's okay...... it must be undead. I'm scared..."

Thousands of undead have attacked and wiped out villages and towns on many occasions, although there have been no massive undead raids near this village, near the ancient battlefield. Especially near the frontier between the Caerm Empire and the Kingdom of Lax, it seems that for Welburn-born mother and sister-in-law Rosalie, the undead is exactly the image of death itself.

"Gould and Skeleton won't have a problem. Because skeletons are no different from goblins, and ghouls are weak demons compared to oaks. And we're ready for the Ghost."

Smile to reassure my mother.

In fact, there have been no special attacks, be they ghouls or skeletons, so our vigilante can deal with them adequately, one-on-one. Even against ghosts whose weapons normally don't work, the Lockhart family is not a formidable enemy because there are many magic metal weapons that said Adamantite or Mithril, plus Mithrill-coated swords and spears.

(I'd rather Durahan be more dangerous. I don't have much information, but I'm talking about intelligence. But I thought the Demon Clan was coming, but what a bunch of undead... because I was ready for once, but I assumed that one way or the other I would just fight against the Demon Clan...)

I couldn't grasp the full extent of the enemy, but I was slightly relieved that the enemy had appeared.

(An enemy you see is better than an invisible enemy. After that I just hope no more enemies come than I expected......)
