Dream Life

Lesson 5: Kaum Royal Palace

Tria history January 1, 319.

A new year has begun.

A welcome feast was held last night at the General Headquarters of the Blacksmith Guild.

There is a custom in this world of remembering those who died on New Year's Eve, usually quiet, but it became a festival as usual because the Dwarves didn't have the right atmosphere. Before the date changed, jocks were quietly put up to mourn the dead, but still their natural cheerfulness was not lost.

The decoration of the boulevard light, Ars' New Year's Eve specialty, was rolling, but what surprised me more than that was that Queen Katrina was at the banquet with patience.

(If I thought you were making a big deal out of me this time, I would have stayed with you. There should have been some political enemies. So defenseless... well, I guess I've been out of it with a full system because I'm talking about that guy, but I feel horrible to ask...)

That happened, but the year 319 has safely dawned and we are supposed to head to the royal palace today to say hello.

In the morning it seems that there is something like a general visit to the Imperial Palace when it comes to Japan, where the events as the Kingdom of Kaum, the King, will say New Year's celebrations to the people, and we plan to enter the Royal Palace after 2 p.m.

This visit to the Kaum Royal Palace of the Lockhart family is official as a nobleman of the Empire, and we are also required to look like nobles deserve it.

My father, my brother, and I are shoulder straps in our dresses as knights of the Caerm Empire, that is, knightly clothes based on blue. Liddy and the others were dissatisfied with this "how come it's not the usual black".

"It doesn't matter. Because in Lord Zacharias's case, his reputation as a magician is greater than that of a knight's son. It's about time my name became more famous as a gastronomer. Hahaha!"

Viscount Ignacious Radford, the star of this one, laughs so with a refreshing smile. He is not hungover because the magic of detoxification worked, or because of the strength of his native liver.

Though the Viscount told me so, my brother Theophilus is wearing the same outfit, so this time he is wearing knightly clothes, but I think he is a little uncomfortable himself.

The women, but my mother and sister-in-law Rosalie are dressed in brightly coloured dresses like New Year's Eve, and they also wear capes made of pure white snow wolf fur from their shoulders to combat the cold.

Liddy and Beatrice were also wearing dresses, not their usual men's clothes.

Liddy is a green dress with a simple design, suitable for beautiful golden hair and clear white skin.

Beatrice is also a dress, but in her case, it feels like a skinny design night dress because a big body looks bigger in a normal dress. I wear more hair decorations to give them glamour, but I still feel the color is stronger.

Mel and Sharon are my favorite dresses, Mel wears blue A-line and Sharon wears yellow A-line stuff. They were trying to get their hair up and put on slightly darker eye makeup than usual to make them look adult.

When asked why, Sharon told me.

"I'm Zach's fiancée, so I thought it might be better than being childish... don't you look good?

"I'm fine. It looks great on you."

When I answer that, I smile like a flower blossomed, but I feel so dodgy that it goes hand in hand with makeup that I rarely normally wear.

My sister Seraphine is also wearing a thin blue dress, but she zeroes, "I would have preferred a knight's dress, too," she said. I usually dress easily as a swordsman, and I don't seem to mind dresses that inhibit movement.

My mother asked me about it and scolded me, "You too, apprentice Mel".

And Luna, but this time she's supposed to be between her modesty along with her samurai Angie and Elena. The girlfriend also wore a calm, black-toned dress that suited her well with a neat face and a laid-back shape.

After I gave him a slightly happy look when I told him about it, he leaned down embarrassed or embarrassed. Still, I think it's a bright sign that I'm able to react so far.

At the end of lunch, take the carriage to the royal palace.

Viscount Radford and his fathers get into their own carriages with their respective crests on them, but we used the carriages prepared by the Kingdom of Kaum because we were traveling on horseback.

At the front and rear of the carriage were Sim Marron, who wore polished armor, and Dan Jakes, who wore a half-armor of flying dragon leather made by the famous Wood Ravengart. They both wear a pitch-black cloak with the Rockhart family crest, which stands out for its rigour.

Luke Wilby, newly recruited as their subordinate, and five other squire members, as well as John and five other vigilantes, are wearing steel armor and following.

Luke, a squire, but the oldest thirty-two years of his employment this time. At that age, he is a strong swordsman, Level 38. With all this strength, it's not so strange to be doing mercenary corps executives.

And while its strength is also gained, it is so well looked after that it is admired by many young members as a compiler of vigilantes. My father expects me to have three children with my wife but to be promoted to Empire City.

Other subordinates are Mark Norman, the archer who accompanied Welburn last year, Jim Quinn, the swordsman, Kevin Turner, the magician, and Ricky Burton, who was hired this time. By the way, I have been given my last name by my father because I have become a squire.

John, a vigilante, was the first young man to take the squire hiring exam, who has been bought the motivation and promoted to Imperial City. All but him are young people in their early twenties, but expectations that are all above level thirty.

Those ten men are equipped with a steel half-armor, which is the standard equipment of the Lockhart family. This half armor was also specially made by Beltram and is made of Alus steel, a high quality steel. This armor, but because Beltram is made under the guidance of Gaelnotes, is of better quality than the stuff of the regular knights of the Black Steel Knights of the Kingdom of Kaum.

No one would think that they were wearing the same pitch-black cloak as the Dans, moving tightly, and that they were a country vigilante if they didn't know.

Going up the boulevard is nothing like the people coming down from the royal palace. With Viscount Radford's men flying the flag of the Empire, the flag of the great golden eagle with its wings spread, the Ars citizens immediately notice us and wave at us.

"That's very popular. You won't be welcome so far in the Imperial City, so why don't you just saddle me into the Kingdom of Kaum?

Liddy is naughty, and I've said that. Of course, she doesn't mean it either, but I don't know what it feels like to say it.

"Sure. But on the contrary, it's better not to be welcomed in the Imperial capital."

"Why not? I think it's a good thing," Beatrice tilts her neck. Liddy and Mel are equally inclined to the neck, but Sharon was the only one who nodded small.

"The Lockhart family has done nothing in the Imperial City."

"Really?" and Liddy leans her neck.

"This battle against the undead has nothing but recognition of the extent to which it happened on the border of Kaum if you look at it from the people of the Imperial Capital. The fact that we are welcome in the capital means that another thought is working. Neither the grand aristocracy of the Crown Prince nor the grand aristocracy of the Leopold Prince will care about the civilian population, so the forces that have the potential to move will be limited"

"Where do you think that is?

Stand two fingers on Liddy's question.

"One is a commercial guild. He puts his shoulders on the Crown Prince, but His Royal Highness is not popular with the people. So we'll try to capture the Lockhart family after we've manipulated the information."

"Where is the other one? It won't mean a sorcerer's guild, and I can't think of any."

Mel has been asking questions.

"Another force is the Neutralists, the Chancellor, Lord Feelobisher, to be exact"

"Why would the Chancellor put his shoulder in the Lockhart family? Sure, it was the prime minister who summoned you, but I have no idea where that is."

"I'm too little information from here on out to be too confident, but somehow I can see why the Chancellor would increase the value of the Lockhart family. One is to increase the value of taking it into your faction. Lord Ezarrington, who succeeds to Lord Feelobisher's trail, has no organization to back him up. I mean, if I get into neutrality, I can have a strong relationship with two guilds: the Blacksmith Guild and the Mage Guild. But that's not all it's weak..."

So I look at their faces and then I go on talking.

"As a neutral, I want supporters within the Empire. If the merchant is a Crown Prince and the army is a Crown Prince, only the general public will remain. The more merchants and armies go up there, the less people will care about their intentions, but the people who actually work are both merchants and servicemen civilians. If family and friends support the neutrals, nature and its information will be in their ears. Then you should realize that the neutrals are serious about the country. You're like a commercial guild later. Take us into your faction after you've met us as heroes."

"It'll be a hassle if that happens. You'll never make it back to the village."

I snort loudly at Liddy's concerns, but immediately laugh, saying, "It's only a hypothetical story that if you're welcomed in the Empire City,"

In fact, both commercial guilds and prime ministers should take it into their own factions before they start manipulating information. Because if you start first and they take it away from you, you can't even see it.

We were talking about that, but the city of Ars is narrow and soon arrives at the royal palace.

Get off the carriage at the Royal Palace entrance and you'll get a fan-shaped view of the city of Ars.

The sight was nothing like looking up from the bottom.

Pure white snow accumulates in multiple, stair-like townships, where the gentle sunlight of winter is inserted, showing kindness like ink painting. The brave summit of the Porta Mountains to the west was set against a background as clean as a borrowed landscape.

Looking up to the royal palace, there was a heavily made palace with a long history, which made it feel like a historic company temple, though not gorgeous.

Break up with the escorts here, Viscount Radford will always be and only the Lockhart family.

"Come this way," a knight in his late thirties will guide him. Apparently they belong to the Knights of Holy Silver, not the familiar Knights of Black Steel.

He seemed to greet the Viscount before we arrived and could not hear his name, but later on he heard that he was the Queen's brother and chief knight, Viscount Richard Rosingrave.

There are few windows with glass in the royal palace and many magic props with lights have been used since daylight. For that reason, or warmer than I thought.

I was guided during the refrain before I saw it.

There is about thirty minutes to look at it, and the samurai takes the time to relax while she drinks the tea she puts in.

When the guided knight arrived and deposited his sword, he went straight for a look. The sword is for etiquette, and I keep it in my storage magic Inventory. Technically, we are bringing weapons unauthorized into the royal palaces of other countries, which may be guilty, but we will not notice, other than those of the Lockhart family, because the storage magic itself is close to the gaga.

Cold outside air pricks my skin when I go out into the hallway where I can see the courtyard. But I was blinded by the beautiful courtyard and forgot the cold for a moment.

Mid-winter doesn't mean flowers are blooming, but it's like a blacksmith's city. Metallic objects are elegantly placed, and they caught my eye.

The object was a statue of twelve men and women that seemed to mimic the appearance of the gods, whether they were also using it in misrills or even outdoors, shining silver.

The knight in the guide said, "It must be inside," and all the faces of the Lockhart family I saw for the first time were nodding.

The large hall of sight is at the end of the courtyard, guarded by heavily armed soldiers with spears in front of the heavy doors. Mother, brother and wife ahead of Viscount Radford and Father, and then we continue, with our younger brothers lined up at the back. The Viscount side is also lined up behind several officials of the literary arts.

"Viscount Ignacious Radford of the Frog Empire! Lord Masaias Lockhart! Admission!

One of the soldiers screamed out loud in the quiet courtyard, disproportionately loud. To pay our respects to the royal family, we bow our heads deeply with one knee poked.

Slowly the door opens.

I couldn't see the back because I was lowering my head, but I could only see that a luxurious deep red carpet was laid.

When the Viscount stands up slowly, we stand up the same way, but be careful not to raise our gaze.

The large hall of sight is about twenty meters wide and thirty meters deep, and the thought is bright as to whether there is much glass used here.

There are sloppy, aristocratic people lined up to the left and right of our way. And then there is a luxurious chair at the far back of it that looks like a throne, but proceeds with caution not to turn his gaze to the person sitting there.

Viscount Radford stopped, and we stopped the same way following behind.

A heavily ministered nobleman tells him, "Your Majesty says," and we look up slowly.

"I am in a good mood for His Majesty and greet the New Year from Ignacious Radford, the minister of His Majesty Siegfried XXI, Emperor of the Caerm Empire..."

You're just used to it, the Viscount goes on to offer his New Year's celebration greetings without starvation.

At the end of the Viscount's greeting, congratulations are returned from King Albert XI.

"I, Albert XI, received only the mouth of a celebration from His Majesty the Emperor Siegfried XXI of the Caerm Empire. I ask His Majesty the Emperor to tell me at last."

The king was speaking more slowly than he thought.

Hearing the words, I was thinking about the king's age. I should have been fifty in my memory, but the saggy skin I saw and the tired and squeaky voice make me look like an old man over seventy.

Next to the right stands the Queen Katrina, whose face is better than usual, and next to the left stands the prince who thinks he is the king and the prince in his mid-twenties.

When the king returned greetings like the regular text, he never kept his mouth open.

Instead, the queen uttered a welcome word to us with a bright look.

"Viscount Radford, Lord Lockhart. Thank you for your words of congratulation to His Majesty the King. God bless you both and everyone you go with."

We bow our heads heavily to that word.

(If Katie does this too, she's a normal queen... thanks for the strong image she has with the Dwarves and I can't wipe the discomfort...)

When I was thinking about that, Prince Philip, Prince of Kings, came up with the same words.

"... I want the Imperial envoys to fully enjoy Ars' New Year. Especially Lord Lockhart, whose mother has taken care of him many times."

I thought it was a mild joke, and the prince hasn't broken his serious look and seems to think so from the bottom of his heart. It must have become a natural and serious character between an unmotivated father and a mother who supported the kingdom by herself.

Words are then also received from the Duke's class of heavy ministers, but younger than imagined, with the oldest Lord Swinton about forty years old and Lord Norrish and Lord Moncton in their early thirties.

The story I heard last year was that the Royal Family and the Three Dukes were fighting a power struggle, but I guess it has something to do with the fact that the previous Duke of Norrish took refuge and replaced him the other day. There were also rumours that the Shergold Marquis, who was near the king's side, had lost his legs and that the queen had sought to rejuvenate the civilians, so there seemed to be some influence.

At the end of the New Year's greeting, he leaves the Great Hall where he saw it. And when I arrived during the refrain that was first guided as it was, my father sighed heavily.

"It still doesn't suit me. My stomach hurts when I think I'll see the Emperor."

There's still a dinner party, Lord Masaias.

Viscount Radford told me with a laugh, and my father becomes even more sinister.

I was a little tired, but my younger brothers were excited about their first glimpse of the king, and thrilled that the three of us were amazing.

"We don't have to go out to dinner," Beatrice said, and Liddy nodded aloud and agreed, "That's all I saved."

Only my father, mother, and brother and wife attend the dinner party, and we're supposed to go back to the inn. They rarely have a second son on these official occasions, not Liddy, but I seriously think it helped.

He broke up with his fathers and returned to the inn with half of his escorts.

Back at the inn, the Dwarves were waiting.

"It's a banquet to celebrate the New Year!

Though I still wondered if that had happened, I had zero grin that this one was hundreds of times better than the court dinner party.
