Dream Life

Lesson 38: Discovery

January 30th.

Marquis Clement Seawell asked Viscount Ignacious Radford about the grape variety after Zacharias left after completing a report on the distillery construction candidate site visit.

"I thought all the grapes around here were the same, but I didn't know that was different. Ignacious, you didn't even notice?

"I'm ashamed," he said, bowing his head.

"If you ask me, I thought you were right, until now my perception was that the taste of wine varies from village to village and from year to year. Regardless, it wasn't just a barrel of wine from the same village, I saw a lot of flavors, but I assumed it was simply a difference between being made."

"I see… so do you think there is a grape that is suitable for its long-term aging?

"Definitely," the Viscount nodded loudly.

The Marquis questions the Viscount's confident appearance.

"Why are you so confident? I thought you said Zacharias might not even have it.

"Because that Lord Zacharias was confident," said the Viscount, breaking his expression greatly.

"I'm not sure where it is," he says, tilting his neck.

"That alcoholic god's son said," revolutionizing seawell wine. "He is not one to utter such things if he is not sure. Especially when it comes to booze."

The Marquis said, "I see. You're absolutely right," he nodded with a laugh.

"If we don't find it tomorrow, we're going to have all the village wines checked. We believe this is a great opportunity for Seawell."

"I asked for it."

Viscount Radford replied, "I'll take care of it."

"It's a procedure after that grape is found, but ask Lord Zacharias to use“ secret techniques ”to see if it really suits long-term aging. The premise is that it will be the best, but we are thinking about planting grapes from that village in other villages and making it the highlight of Seawell wines."

"Right. That's good. But that wine, is it something that tastes so different? I saw the taste earlier, but I had no idea."

"I had the same sentiment as your palace. This is the same for Lord Zacharias, and only Lord Beatrice has noticed the difference in scent."

The Marquis says "um" and arms up.

"Shouldn't we also be looking at hiring beasts?"

Dalungton answers the question on his behalf.

"Sir Zacharias said the same thing. He said he could do better if he left quality control to a beast man of a good race with a nose. But I didn't propose this to you, I overheard you chatting with Lord Beatrice."

The Marquis says "um" and thinks.

"There must have been an Orc refugee flowing from Lukes. The Chancellor had a problem with his head, but why don't you hire him in our territory?"

In the Holy Kingdom of Lukes we have adopted human supremacy, and the subhumans, especially the Beasts, are the object of persecution.

Originally, the beasts made a relatively small group (community) of several hundred to a thousand people for each of the same species, but each community was burned down and the captured beasts are enslaved.

There were those who had fled into the empire before being enslaved, the number of whom was thousands in size.

Some of the refugees are scattered around the world as adventurers and mercenaries, but in the elderly, children and some races unsuitable for battle, the only way to do so was to create and live near the border with Lukes, whose treatment was now a problem.

As an empire, we had welcomed the Beasts in promoting Luke's outrage, but there was little land near the border with Luke that was destined for farmland, and we had no choice but to provide food aid.

There are lands in the south and east that can be colonized, but there are a limited number of aristocrats who can continue to support them until they are able to become self-reliant in their clothing. Peasants also had many conservatives and often rebelled against accepting interracial.

"My Seawell can adequately feed about a thousand people, and if I persuade my people, there will be less rebellion. I don't know if I'm motivated by the Beasts..."

"I don't know if you don't try to talk about it, but when you say you accept each clan, the other should also compromise to some extent. Worsening security is a concern, but it will also depend on the person there. I hear that small dogs who are not fit to fight are also very important in character, and I wonder if they are worth a try."

"Mm-hmm. Let's talk to Lord Alexis about this, too. If we start, we should soon incorporate it in the Duke of Ezarrington territory. Then take the story as Zacharias' suggestion and bring Lord Alexis into your company, and it will be easier for you to do the rest."

Marquis Seawell drew the elder, the Duke of Alexis Ezzarington, to ask the Imperial Government to root for the dispatch of troops to maintain law and order.

"You should also check this matter with Lord Zacharias. Because he could have a better idea."

And when Zacharias was summoned and asked about the plan, he raised his hand in favor.

"I think it's great. Refugees are not only an economic burden but also a factor in the deterioration of security. The reason for insecurity is that refugees have anxiety about their lives, especially economic anxiety…"

Furthermore, he continues to talk with excitement.

"... I think it would be very good for the Beasts to be given a job that only they can do, even in defending their pride. If everyone was given a job they didn't want to do, it would hurt their pride, but if“ we can only do it ourselves, "we should be proud of the job and strive to lead them to success themselves"

Marquis Seawell hears his words and nods, "I didn't think that far, but you sure do," he said.

"The idea of phototheism discriminating against beasts is wrong. The God of Light (Lucidus) is a God who“ illuminates the light all the time ", and is precisely the God who embodies that all men are equal under God. Using that God's name, burning down villages and enslaving innocent people can be described as blasphemy against God."

Zacharias criticizes phototheism more spicy than usual.

"You're right. As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to make a few more specific suggestions, but is there any good wisdom?"

The Marquis asked me that,

"The Beasts also have their own culture and traditions. Respecting and further acknowledging it would be the first step towards reconciliation. I wonder if it is important for you to take the lead and move forward with your interaction."

"I know what you're going to say..."

"Specifically, we showcase each other's cultures. I love wine so much in Seawell territory. You show them that at festivals and events. And let them also show on the spot what they are proud of, and if Your Excellency himself acknowledges that, will the Beasts also feel that they are not poor refugees, but members of the Marquis of Seawell"

"Mm-hmm. You sure do."

When the Marquis nods, Viscount Radford also agrees.

"Fortunately, your museum is extremely popular in Seawell. The people will be convinced if the pavilion itself reaches out to the Beasts and declares that they should join forces for the development of Seawell territory."

Zacharias offered further ideas.

Then more than a thousand dogs migrated to the Marquis of Seawell territory.

Initially, although they were bewildered by the work given to them by Marquis Seawell, they remembered desperately that it was a project that the Marquis himself had asked for, and even more so a stable job in a safe land, to lose it.

Their efforts are rewarded and gradually become glanced at by the brewers of the people.

And they grew to such an extent that their presence was said to be indispensable for improving the quality of seawell wines.

Further large-scale migration took place in neighbouring Ezzarington territory.

The Duke of Ezarrington not only gave the land to the species who were not good at fighting, but also to those who were good at fighting, such as the Tigers, the Lions and the Bears.

Lord Ezarrington knows they are not suitable for agriculture and proposes to earn income by serving in the military.

The conditions were relatively relaxed.

He promised the Beastmen, who were good at fighting, that a certain percentage of them would serve only for a limited period of time, and that if they fulfilled that condition, they would provide food aid.

Of course, he was to join the Imperial Army because when he was admitted to the Knights of Ezarrington, he was suspected of conspiracy by the Emperor.

The Beasts swore allegiance to Lord Ezarrington and the Empire and fought for the Empire. Especially in the war against the Holy Kingdom of Lukes, which drove us out. It works great in a battle fearless of death.

Marquis Seawell, who devised it, was given more territory for his merits, but the land was given to the beasts.

Seawell becomes known not only as a land of wine and gastronomy, but also as a place of peace for the beasts.

And the peak Seawell Brandy will be given the name Female Tiger (Tigress), two of the originating Beatrice Lockhart….

February 1st.

On the second day of the survey of distillery construction candidate sites, today we toured the villages across the Seawell River, to the west.

Starting from the village of Dwary, closest to the city of Seawell, we will confirm it as the villages of Craig, Moulin and Blair. Along the way, he arrived in Blair village, twelve kilometers north, after two p.m., as he was tasting in the village where he was making wine.

The villages in the West Bank also have a long and short time of what is a pass on the terms of distillery construction, and they did not find a better place than the village of Kleiteymore they found yesterday.

But the mysterious grape Beatrice noticed yesterday is finding.

The wine is from the village of Moulin, about nine kilometres north of the city of Seawell, where some of the wines tasted similar to the young Cabernet Sauvignon.

However, I tried some barrels, but there was variation in quality, and Viscount Radford said, "The wine in this village is a lot off the beaten edge," and as it stands, the fruit aromas are highly tannic of the good ones, many of which are hard to say good wines.

When I asked the village brewers in detail, they taught me with a bitter laugh.

"The year of the hit is fine, but if the weather isn't any better, the yield is small, and the flavour is strong and only makes it a wine with no big deal. So I'm mixing it with other grapes, but my villagers are saying enough about pulling out this tree and turning it into another tree..."

"That's a waste!" I was voicing it unexpectedly.

"If you have personality, you should leave that behind. The wine in this village has the potential to be a high quality one or two contenders in Seawell."

In fact, some of the tastings were of better quality than those given last year.

Viscount Radford was also astonished at this,

"The tannins are strong but the aroma is good. Just letting him sleep for a few more months would taste pretty good," he said.

I got one of five barrels to give this barrel to, but as far as I'm concerned, I'd like to get this wine ripe soon.

However, I don't intend to make the storage magic Inventory public, so I need to have it sent to the village once and it will be around June of this year as soon as possible to pack it in a bottle.

(As a precaution, I built an underground reservoir in Kanga Hill, so the flavor won't fade, and aging in barrels will feel good. But you want me to drink fast. Sneak, I wonder if I'll get about two or thirty bottles. Speaking of seeing what happens, both Ignacious and the Marquis will admit it...)

For once, the theory of storage magic is publicized in Professor Raspade's thesis, the mentor. However, when it is known that this magic can be used, many inconveniences can be considered.

In the Imperial Palace and the Royal Palace, assassinations may be suspected because weapons can be released or poison brought in. It can be used for other burglaries, as well as smuggling.

Furthermore, although my storage magic is small for each storage space, in theory, the number can increase as much as possible, so it has what can be termed infinite storage. Militarily, it's a convenient place to transport supplies for tens of thousands of people by itself.

(Because it's just a hassle to be known and has no benefit at all. Both the professor and Mr. Kitley told me to keep my mouth shut, and I only said special magic to the Ignacious, so I have no fear of being cursed with the present. How much do you want to drink to expose your hands...)

Though I think so, I offered to ask Viscount Radford to give away about twenty litres of barrels of the same flavour because I was really concerned.

"I haven't brought it today, but there's a metal tank in the Lockhart family carriage. Besides, I would like you to share this wine with me, and I would like to use my magic to speed up aging."

I immediately acknowledge that the Viscount was concerned, too.

"That's good! I was going to ask for it from here! Don't say 20 bottles, you don't mind a barrel. Except, of course, for the gift."

I said no with a bitter smile at the words.

"I didn't bring the tank just to add a barrel, and I don't have enough bottles"

To tell the truth, there are bottles, and there are enough stainless steel tanks to use for precipitation. However, I told him how much it would not be strange if it was in the wagon because it would be where I had all that stuff.

"You'll rent the kitchen, but if you split it by tomorrow, I'm sure you'll come to a conclusion in four days"

"Let the knight pick it up first thing tomorrow morning. I'll be able to give it to you by noon tomorrow. Regardless, you can use the kitchen as much as you like. It's a corner, so I'd like you to try even bottles made in the realm, but what do you think?

The Viscount seems to want to see if it is possible to age for a long time in a bottle made of seawell.

"Of course it's no problem. Shall we use this magician's stuff, too, Cork? I think it's easier to compare."

"Mm-hmm. So please"

Cork, a stopper in a bottle, but this is something that is magically modified and made from normal wood with wood attributes. I also looked for real cork, but so far I haven't found it and use it with bitter meat measures. As far as my magic confirms, it can withstand twenty years of aging, so it's practical enough.

I eventually decided to make twenty bottles with the bottle and cork I made on Seawell territory.
