Dream Life

Episode 55: Prime Minister's Thoughts: Previous

Around 9am on February 11th.

Non was questioning the Lockhart family.

Our Lord Masaias, who thought it was easy to give, met the demands of Non due to his honesty. No, I don't hate it if it's for the Empire, but I said no to cooperating with the individual.

I was heartily impressed with that integrity.

Few have ever spoken out so much about honesty against Non. In a different way from the Dwarves the other day, I admired their rigidity.

My son Rodrick surprised me, too.

He was the son-in-law of Hubert Raswell, the Governor of the North, and I got information from him, but that was nothing more than a competent and honest figure as a samurai.

But I retained more insight than I thought. So much so that I wonder if I can be Lord Alexis' right arm if I can work out well.

And Zacharias I was most excited about this time, but I enjoyed it more than I expected.

I could not believe that Lord Alexis called it a difficult enemy and could not draw any concessions, but I was convinced in my previous stories.

Reasonably disputed Noh's intimidation and tenderness. If that's all you can do, then there's nothing you can't do even with academic excellence. But this young man prevented Noon from going ahead so that he could not argue.

Imperial Chancellor Tatsuno has great responsibility for the security of this country. Having pushed that thing forward, I have shown a real example.

If we try the objection that we left to our emotions here, we will deny ourselves where Noh stands. I thought about cutting it off and throwing it away even more as it was an aerospace theory on the desk, but as if I had read Non's mind, I also took the lead here to show a real example.

When I'm shown so much insight, I suspect I'm really a sixteen-year-old boy. If you're a long-lived race like an elf or a dragon man who just appears in a legend, you don't know, but the boy in front of you is only visible to people no matter how you look at him.

He seems to be impressed, but Nor is he going to end it with this.

With so much delicacy, he also possesses the powerful power of a blacksmith's guild. I don't have a hand in not using it.

"I don't care what Lockhart does, I don't want to help him."

I whine with a voice close to talking to myself, but I'm sure they'll hear me.

"Non is in a bit of a hurry. Sometimes at this age, more than that, the problem of the heir to the Imperial Family cannot be solved because of the impatience..."

This is what Non meant.

"... my successor, the Duke of Alexis Ezarrington, is no better than this nonsense. If he becomes prime minister, the foundations of the empire will be even stronger. But he lacks compassion, unlike Non. And the inheritance of His Majesty is a matter of deep roots. In fact, there have been times in the past when the imperial stalks were about to tilt due to this problem. At a time like this, the prime minister who divides politics is under a lot more pressure than I thought..."

So I stare at Masaias staring at him.

"You said earlier that if you were for the Empire, you wouldn't hate death. That's not true."

"No two words, sir."

He ran out in a clear tone.

"Then help the Empire. Non only works for the Empire. I am loyal to His Majesty, but I give priority to the country over His Majesty. This remains unchanged against the next emperor, His Majesty. In other words, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, or His Highness Leopold, would oppose the reign if it were to shed even a slight shadow on the end of the Empire. Can't you still help Non?"

Neither intimidation nor tenderness worked, but it seems to have moved my mind to this word.

"If it is for the Empire, there is no no no no no"

Masaias replied so as to squeeze it out.

"Then Lockhart will be given to Lord Alexis."

Masaias tried to snort. But before that, Zacharias interrupts by saying "fear".

"Bye. I'm asking the Lord now. Don't be silly!

Even though I said that, I didn't say it any stronger because I was wondering what he was going to say. Did Zacharias perceive what he thought? Zacharias stared firmly into his eyes and opened his mouth.

"I'm afraid I do. We have no objection to the Lockhart family cooperating with His Excellency. However, I fool you that the Lockhart family should not be in the Empire, either militarily or politically."

"What does that mean?

"The military aspect is as I said earlier. We would like to explain the political reasons…"

Though I asked, what he said came with an imagination. He would also say that interference from the Crown Prince, the Leopold Prince, aimed at strengthening relations with the Blacksmith Guild should be prevented.

It was so bracketed high.

But Zacharias' words overshadowed Non's expectations.

"My brother, Rodrick, is related to His Excellency Uncle Raswell Borderline, the Governor of the North. His Excellency the Governor of the North is an impartial man without any personal interest, and is not inherently a matter of concern, but if we link the history of the Empire, the Governor of the North will always be suspicious of His Majesty the Emperor. Does the fact that the son-in-law of such a person is in the Imperial capital, near His Excellency the Chancellor and His Excellency the Duke of Ezarrington, who will be the next Chancellor, incite unnecessary vigilance on the part of His Majesty the Emperor and the factions"

"I mean, bye. I would like to say that Lockhart is suspected by His Majesty the Emperor."

Fully possible story, but His Majesty our predecessors, and now His Majesty, do not have such an idea either. In fact, only some of the elders are on the lookout for the northern governor. They have only been making noise over the years to defend their own interests.

For this reason, it fell out of Non's head, but it can be said that if we only look at the possibilities, we do not know what the next generation of His Majesty will think.

I was beginning to think that my conversation with this person was extraordinarily enjoyable, and I decided to ask what I didn't even think.

"Bye. With this Kilnarek possession, relations between the Lockhart and Raswell families are believed to have deteriorated. Wouldn't that be a problem?"

I've also been in close contact with Hubert about this, making sure it won't be a problem at all. But I wanted to hear how this person would cut back.

"It is certainly not surprising that it has become such a recognition. However, the relationship between brother and sibling is good and a child will be born at a time not so far away. In that case, His Excellency the Governor of the North will draw the blood of Lockhart..."

So I watched as I peered into Non's face.

This answer came with anticipation, but Non nodded slightly to encourage ahead.

"... The Raswell family has been hit by many misfortunes, a situation in which there are extremely few relatives. If my son Patrick's orphan, Francis, was an adult, he wouldn't have a problem, but he's still a child. The Viceroy's son is in addition to his brother-in-law Rosalind, but we hear that the one you loved most was Rosalind. Thinking about what might happen, I wonder if the Raswells would leave their relationship with the Lockhart family deteriorating. And if his brother stays in Imperial Capital, as the days go by, it will appear to the aristocrats that the relationship between the Lockhart and Raswell families is good."

I'm not wrong about what I'm saying.

Assuming Francis dies, the sons of his three sons will be adopted by the Raswell family. And the most prominent candidate is Rosalind's son, the Rockhart family.

But you can't put that in your mouth.

"So how do we work together? All I'm saying is negative."

I thought Zacharias' eyes lit up when he asked. I guess I've been waiting for this question.

"I believe the Lockhart family is external and working with Your Excellency is the best way to do so. Specifically, your relationship with the Duke of Ezarrington breaks down and makes it look like you've reconciled with the Raswells. In other words, we go back to the subordination of the Governor of the North and make him think that he is out of touch with His Excellency the Duke. I was wondering if it would be desirable to work together in secret on that."

"Mm-hmm. There's nothing I can't do," he said. This is serious.

"Yes. I know that His Excellency the Duke of Etherlington's maid and I are friends in rumours. If there are rumours that your ladies have lost interest in me, there will be rumours that the relationship between the Dukes of Ezarrington and the Lockhart family will cool off, because of their identities in the first place."

"Sure, but I heard you like what happened to Lord Laurencia and Lord Primrose."

Without breaking my serious expression, I made a little tease of it. I wanted to see how you would react to these stories.

Zacharias smiles slightly. But I immediately returned my expression.

"You were both born in the Duke's house. If you know you have political feelings, whatever your personal feelings, you will choose the best path."

I say "um," but I recall the name "Prince Harlem of all directions (All-Range Prince)," and the question comes to mind, "I wonder if that's really going to happen."

"It is easy to claim good relations with the Raswell family. As soon as we have a series of events in the Imperial City, we plan to head to Wellburn, and we just need to take advantage of that opportunity. We haven't decided yet, but we hope our brothers will join the Northern Governor's office army. Then it will be clear to everyone that the Lockhart and Raswell families have reconciled."

"I got that far. But that doesn't do any good."

Non stares even sharper. But Zacharias can read Non's thoughts, and he can't even see the frightened dust.

"The Lockhart family will return to the faction of the northern governor, but will in fact be His Excellency's hands and feet, gathering information on the border. Not only that, but we can use our influence on the Blacksmith Guild to strengthen our influence on the city of Periclitle, the Union of Urban States, and on Fortis, the country of mercenaries, in favor of the Empire."

"Neither Fortis nor Pericritle is of great value to the Empire. I can't say it helps to that extent."

This is different from the heart.

The power of Periclitle's Adventurer Alliance and Fortis' Mercenary Alliance is not insulting. Outside the South, which is safe in the Empire, the influence of both guilds, which are responsible for the safety of the people, is enormous.

Non himself is trying not to fail in his efforts to strengthen his influence on both guilds. In fact, he has a close and good relationship with the Mercenary Guild and has succeeded in sending a large number of mercenaries into the war against Lukes when he drives the army of the Northern Governor's Office.

To elicit this man's thoughts, I dared say something contrary to what I did.

"Fortis' military power is not insulting. In addition, the influence of both guilds will be strong enough to go to the border. Even if the peripheral people are upset, the impact on the entire empire will be limited. But there is no denying the possibility that the impact will expand unexpectedly. Given the establishment of Luke's Holy Kingdom, I would fool you into thinking that the presence of the Adventurer's Guild, the Mercenary Guild, which stabilizes the hearts and minds of the peripheral people, is never small…"

As expected, it was the same as Non's idea. Non says nothing and stares.

"… the city of Periclitle is also a major street requirement: Aurella Street, Ars Street and Fonce Street. And the important thing is that Periclitle gathers a variety of information. Given the value of the information, I wonder if it might not be useful"

This person seems to have suggested knowing that Non attaches great importance to information.

I am astonished at the importance of information so much at this young age. I'm going to add more questions as I indulge in laughter again.

"That information, but how do we get it to Nong? Send out messengers frequently and you'll be suspected."

"We invite His Excellency the Marquis of Seawell to cooperate. We still regularly exchange alcohol and ingredients with the Seawell family. If you let them get into it, no one will notice. Especially if Viscount Radford has anything to do with it, the image of gastronomy and wine should be too strong to look like we are exchanging information"

This has already been done, and so far neither the Crown Prince nor the Crown Prince have noticed it.

"Then I'll confirm. Lockhart cooperates for the Empire. The method secretly sends information collected through Periclitle and the Blacksmith's Guild to Non. That doesn't mean."

"Exactly."

I saw a relief look on Zacharias here.

Certainly for Non and Lord Alexis, it is well worth the offer, no, very much.

Although the value of the Lockhart family is thought to be only its influence on the blacksmith guild, it is in fact its geographical condition and the magnitude of its influence over the free border zone.

Without Zacharias pointing it out, I want information about Periclitle and Lax so much that I can get my hands out of my throat. With that information, we can take the lead against commercial guilds.

That would allow us to grasp the roots of a commercial guild that would scratch the politics of the empire, making the empire an even more stable country.

I guess I felt sensitive about that. So I thought Non had forgiven me for this, and I got a relief look on my face.

But these places are still young.

"Still weak"

I didn't raise my voice, but starting with Zacharias, the three move their shoulders viciously to Non's words.

"At the very least, if you cooperate in a ploy against the backdrop of the power of the Blacksmith Guild, you won't be working for the Empire."

Because this condition is said by Lord Alexis, I know Lockhart will never ride.

I also know that this is a difficult hand to use.

Even Katrina Brentwood, known as that Dwarf Queen, takes great care when using the power of the Blacksmith Guild. Despite being recognized as a Dwarf drinker.

But Non wondered what this man would say and how much more concessions he would make by poking at it.

Non had fun for a long time.
