Dream Life

Episode 63: The Emperor's View

February 12th.

After a meeting with the Chancellor, a banquet with the Blacksmith Guild, I finally feel a little calm.

All I have planned for this evening is to attend dinner at the Duke of Etherlington's house, and I have no other plans.

Although my father and brother have been busy in the morning discussing future plans and gifts to the Imperial Family with the Marquis Seawell.

We'll be free until around 4: 00 p.m., but we already had plans.

While yesterday, Robbins Chamber of Commerce president Bart Robbins suggested that we take a tour of the Imperial City, because all but my father and brother, the Lockhart family, were supposed to participate.

By the time I finished breakfast, Robbins appeared at the Marquis Seawell house.

He heard about the meeting with the Prime Minister, too, and I know it's the schematics, but he seemed to care how it actually was, and his expression doesn't always have any brightness.

But as we talked, we found that there was no problem at all, and his expression also became brighter.

"Today we are going to have a look at the commercial district and each temple, etc. Do you have any hopes?

There was no particular hope, but the weather hasn't been nice since this morning.

So far it hasn't rained, but it's not strange when it comes out with more and more airspace.

He thought the same thing, "I hope it didn't rain..."

As there are no easy rain umbrellas in this world, it is rare for ladies in dresses to walk in the rain. The women of the Lockhart family didn't wear anything as gorgeous as a dress, they didn't have to worry about it that much, but they never bothered to go in the rain, so when it started to come down, they cut it up there.

Although there is no great distance to the commercial district, the temple is dispersed in all directions, which makes a carriage necessary.

The carriage is used for Lockhart family belongings and Seawell Marquis belongings. This is to make the Marquis Seawell family better off finding out they're in the back, and less trouble.

Triumph and head north through the North Gate to enter the commercial district. I was passing through here yesterday, but today I relaxed and looked out the carriage window.

(That's a lot of fine buildings. I feel like I know it's status to open a store in this tunnel. Speaking of which, I have to go to the Spencer Chamber of Commerce...)

I remember because I saw a Spencer Chamber of Commerce sign outside the window, but when Sharon did the information-gathering, he was in contact with me in the name of my interest in ingredients from all over the country, and I even got a list.

I was already interested in the original sense, although I didn't need to set Spencer up any more by her workmanship.

Get out of the carriage in front of Robbins Chamber of Commerce headquarters and stroll through Triumph Tone.

"I would recommend the Clark clothing store to your wife and young wife, Zacharias's wife and fiancée, as the dinner party starts today."

In contrast, my mother said, "Aren't we not going to make it now?" Ask the question. My mother is the daughter of a Welburn tailor and I know it takes a lot of time to tailor a dress.

"Of course if you tailor your dress, you won't make it, but they say just adding a few embellishments will change your impression a lot. I don't know much about this neighborhood."

The largest clothing store in the Empire, it seems, has a wealth of ribbons and fur (fur) points that can be attached to it.

"I like it somewhere else," Beatrice says, and Liddy agrees with "yeah."

Hi. I think these two are running more into the eating air than the color.

"Let's go together," Mel invites, and Sharon also says, "I think Master Zach would be more than happy to do that," for backup shooting.

"Right. I guess I'd be happier if you two were cleaner."

When I say that, "You have no choice," Beatrice breaks, but Liddy wasn't too enthusiastic about "it's nothing."

"Mr. Lydia is with me," my mother said, and Lydia seems to have given up.

I took Luna and Serra's hands and walked relaxed. Nothing. I could have been one of the Liddy's, but I tried to hold hands with Serra, who was with me because Luna was looking at me somehow.

"I hope you find something," I said, holding Luna's hand a little cold.

Then he looked up at me happy and replied with a smile, "Yes." It seemed right to hold hands.

We got to the Clark clothing store right away, but the nervous faceted shopkeeper Danny Clark was waiting for us.

Looking at you and Sharon, what you threatened to do when gathering information still seems to be working.

Still, I take the women's hands and mouth them with my mother at the head. The figure feels familiar and he realizes that he is doing business extensively with noble opponents.

It goes around the store headed by my mother, but it even comes with clerks to Angie and Elena, the samurai, and Luna, the child, whether it's the finest customer treatment.

I wasn't so free because Liddy and the others asked me for my opinion, but Dan, Theo is the only one I have to do enough to look around the store shabby. By the way, Sim Marron and his squire remain at the Marquis Seawell residence as his father's escort.

I tried to ask Dan about yesterday in his spare time, but sometimes the Liddies said, "How's this?" I could barely ask because they would ask. I just hear that it worked.

In an hour or so they all found something they liked, with a satisfying look on their face.

Liddy bought an emerald green cape, Beatrice an orange scarf, Mel a rose flower made of a deep red ribbon, and Sharon a sapphire blue ribbon.

Luna also bought a bright white silk handkerchief with plenty of lace and showed it to each other as a friendly Selah.

When I finished shopping, Clark was whispering something to Sharon.

I was curious and asked later, "I just asked if this was okay," he told me with a laugh.

Apparently, I just checked to see if my actions fit against her threats.

Once I asked him how he answered,

"What do you think? And I just answered ambiguously. He'll think a lot of things for himself."

Apparently I didn't affirm or deny it.

"That's fine for now, but don't hunt it down too much"

Put your hands on her head with that said.

"Yes, I won't be impotent anymore, so I'll be fine."

Does it switch quickly or does it not look like it is already dragging?

I get Clark's drop-off of my pulled face, but for some reason Robbins' face was also pulled.

The Spencer Chamber of Commerce is on its way.

Many merchants visit the store because this is the best trader in the Empire and it is very lively.

Were they still contacted in advance here, and Virus Spencer, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, was waiting while rubbing hands.

"Welcome. Okay, back there."

Follow him to the back, but be guided to a place like the conference room, not the reception room.

And many liquors and ingredients were arranged narrowly on that desk, behind which more than ten men and women appearing to be in charge stood.

"Master Sharon told us, so we have everything we can prepare. We've also made sure that you can try anything that needs to be cooked on our side. Though not enough to satisfy Sir Zacharias, who is most famous as a gastronomer. Now, let me explain from the one in charge."

Take tastings and tastings, one by one.

The mushrooms of the Kingdom of Sartooth in the north are served in soup, while the olive oil of Jilsole in the south is served with bread for tasting.

"This white wine belongs to the Kingdom of Lax, which His Royal Highness the Crown Prince loves. The Chamber of Commerce purchases every barrel and sells it bottled......"

There are goblets lined up so that you can try them at a time when you want a little drink, and I admire that you are quite a strategist.

But the wine was an unfortunate one.

Because it has been transported by ship for a long time, it is oxidizing and smells like I could smell it on my nose. It was also slightly salty and the freshness of the white wine was compromised.

Liddy and the others are feeling it too, not saying anything but looking subtle.

"Would you mind convening this one? So how about a drink made of rare central corn"

Taste the corn liquor but there was no corn-like aroma and it was a terribly sour liquor.

It tastes closer to vinegar than alcohol because it doesn't stop fermentation.

"They say it's supposed to be a little sweeter booze, but this is what happens while you carry it. Therefore, we will only carry you to Imperial Capital when we arrive early by sea…"

This is vowed to my heart to drink when I go local and I will look at other liquors and ingredients.

There were dried taras and salted herring on the western island of Perpulse, and many things made me think they might be available in the village of Rasmore.

"This is a rare seasoning, but it's a zilsole fish soy sauce. I have a habit, but when I use it for cooking, it gives depth to the flavor."

That's what I said. I've handed you the vegetable tomato stew.

The smell of seafood stock was strongly felt when the spoon was carried into the mouth, and there was a unique depth when it was included in the mouth.

"This is good. It's called anchovies. You can use this for cooking."

When I say that, Beatrice says, "Really? All I smell is stinky fish," he says, wrinkling his nose.

They haven't eaten the stewed tomatoes yet, but they haven't gotten their hands on it because they smell the raw state.

"When you put the fire in, it smells all at once. Try eating 'cause you think you're fooled."

When I say that and give him the tomato stew, he brings his nose closer in the feeling of fear. The look of it made me smile unexpectedly like a cat with new food found.

You're ready. Put the spoon in your mouth. Then it changes from an unpleasant feeling until just before to a bright look at once.

"Delicious! It's going to go well with white wine."

"When used to season potatoes, it should also go with beer"

When we were having that conversation, the secretarial woman behind Spencer was taking notes. Maybe he's trying to find business stories from my conversation.

"It looks delicious even for a pot of vegetables. Maybe even fish fillets."

Luna has said that.

It's unusual that I haven't spoken, but I never put that on my face, and I said, "Right. Maybe you could freshen up with a lemon or something," he continues in a casual conversation.

My mother also had a tasting while talking about how to use it with her brother-in-law Rosalie because of the many rare ingredients.

I spent more time than I thought tasting or going through the purchase process, and it was time for lunch.

Leaving the Spencer Chamber of Commerce, Robbins asked, "What will you do for lunch?"

Everyone, including me, was tasting more than they thought, but I thought it was bad when Robbins was booking, and I asked him what his plans were.

"Mr. Spencer was in the mood, so I thought this might happen."

Apparently, it was within the assumptions.

"Why not have a light meal at our Robbins Chamber of Commerce sandwich shop?

I knew there was a store because the sandwiches and hamburgers I served at the Dwarf Festival were becoming popular in Imperial Capital and Robbins was consulting me.

When I went there because it was right around the corner, I saw a bright store with lots of striped shelter (awnings) and glass.

This place feels as heterogeneous as the calm atmosphere of the Imperial City as the Gelato store, but lunchtime means that many people are lined up.

We are VIP treated, so we are led to the store from another entrance.

Immediately the clerk showed up, handed over the menu and started explaining.

"Recommended are ham sandwiches and beef burgers made with Ezarrington ham. The beverage will be a chilled herbal or orange juice, liquor…"

It's a flowing explanation, but I felt nervous for some reason.

When she finishes her order and tells her about it after the clerk drops back, Liddy laughs and explains why.

"Isn't that obvious? Most of the menus here are what you think. Have someone like that come with the owner. It's strange not to be nervous."

I was pointed out and convinced, but I can't get used to it.

(I was a small citizen in Japan. And I've been like this lately... I can't get used to it...)

Sandwiches and hamburgers carry freshly baked every time from a bakery directly run by the Rockhart family, comparable to Maid Length Molly's bread. The contents were also better managed or tastier than I thought.

When I finished my meal and went outside, the rain was starting to fall. It's still far from the main entrance, but the afternoon sights of the Imperial City were to be postponed.

(That was more of a tasting party than an imperial sight... well, I can't help it...)

I asked Robbins to lend me a painting of Gelato's shop because I was free this afternoon.

"Did they think of a new menu! Make sure you use one of our stores!

And the taste of eating asked me to.

(That being said, there was talk of giving you a way to make chocolate. I can't do this unless Master Ignacious is here, but instead of tasting...)

In the end, we Zachsextedt and our brothers, and Luna, were to stay.

I further asked Robbins to contact Primrose.
