Dream Life

Episode 75: Dinner Outdoors

I'm Edgar Steadman. He is the head of the Viscount family that brings him to the Duke of Cheslock family and is also responsible for transactions on Cheslock territory.

Cheslock is located at the southernmost tip of the Wale Peninsula and there are many special agricultural products that cannot be produced in other territories, such as fruits and spices. The deal is very closely linked to the prosperity of the territory and my responsibilities are heavy.

I am coming to the Seawell Marquis Mansion today to attend the Rockhart Family Sergeant's Supper.

Honestly, I thought I'd say no the first time I heard it. Because I heard it was an outdoor standing meal format.

Of course, I was interested in the food and liquor of the Marquis Seawell family, but dining outdoors in this cold sky would not tell the taste or anything like that due to the cold. Unless you can even enjoy a dance with a beautiful princess, but the fact that it was just a meal never caught my interest.

The reason I'm present, but that's because I had the strong recommendation of Viscount Ignacious Radford, who brought the invitation.

The Viscount of Radford, but it's not like he's been dating for a long time, but he recently got acquainted with it.

He wants me to work with him on a cocoa deal, and as far as I'm concerned, he introduces me to a vendor who deals with it if it sells cocoa that doesn't sell well, and tells me about production plans.

He was famous as a gastronomer and, in fact, the restaurant he went with served us a very high quality meal.

I ran out to say that he had an unprecedented taste in cooking this time and would go to an outdoor venue instead of a big hall if he were me.

Further, I heard that His Majesty the Emperor had admired the Seawell wine, and I decided to bet on his words.

With your palace, it will be a separate action in the entrance hall and will be guided to the garden. I soon regret wearing a fur coat but still having difficulty preventing the cold.

A lot of people complain about the cold, so I guess they feel the same way about me.

However, this time we are talking about a lot of people who were forced to participate, and also because the Crown Prince and Leopold Prince are present, they try not to show each other any confusion, which is not a very strong tone.

A toast was heard from the Great Hall, signaling it. Alcohol and food began to be served outdoors as well.

The servants carry the glasses one after the other to the attendees, who are about fifty.

A beautiful red-haired girl brought a glass to me too.

"It is a sparkling wine from the village of Rasmore. Enjoy."

That's what I say. Hand Nicole and a smiling glass.

I am old enough to say my daughter, but my heart is slightly tempered by that uncontrolled smile. Well, the Cheslock people, both male and female, enjoy love, so it's the usual thing.

The wine received comes in an elongated, beautiful glass, receiving an orange light of bonfire, showing a gold-melted beauty. An infinitely gushing bubble is like a holy fountain, and I don't get tired of just looking.

When you put your mouth on that glass, the refreshing acidity and sweetness of the white wine spreads to your mouth. I didn't think it tasted good, so much so that I whined "yummy".

The girl from earlier is back again. There was a small plate in his hand.

There is a dish of roasted wheat like a loaf of bread with loose meat on it.

"It's a thing with a horned rabbit liet on the cracker. I think it would go well with that wine."

At that time I was wearing leather gloves but realized that the dish was ready to be picked as-is and I admire the consideration.

Throw every cracker on the table into your mouth.

Rabbit meat with strong salt gas and fat, but little odor, and when eaten with fragrant crackers, the unique aroma of the meat spread to his mouth.

Looks like something else was hidden as well as Riet. Slightly stronger acidity and herbaceous aromas spread to chase after.

"It contains Ezarrington pickles. The acidity and herbs of white wine vinegar go very well together."

"Right. This is brilliant."

"I think it tastes better when you drink wine," he smiles.

Interested in a girl like me who talks to a nobleman forty years ago without fear, but now mouths wine as he was told.

"Wow. This is so good," the words leak.

It flows clean as if the fat and strong saltiness were flushed with citrus water. Not only does it flow, but the aroma of the wine's grapes creates an indescribable sense of well-being.

I tried to speak to the red-haired girl but had already brought the food to other attendees and could not talk.

Enjoy delicious knobs and wine, but soon it will be empty.

Then the red-haired girl brought the next liquor as if she had foreseen it.

"It's a white wine from Ezarrington. It is a wine with a slightly strong acidity but a gentle aroma like white flowers. Go ahead."

That's what I've said and offered you a glass.

When I put my mouth on it, the crisp liquor runs down my throat, quite unlike the sparkling wine I had earlier.

"Isn't that even the finest thing in Ezarrington?

When I whine that way, the girl smiles and says, "You're right. It was given to me by the Duke of Ezarrington," he replies. So when I turned my face to talk, a boy about the same age as her carried the dish.

"This is Hata's fry in Ezarrington. The Duke said to make it a new Ezarrington specialty."

In its hands was a silver basin, lined with fries with skewers.

Take one of them and carry it to your mouth.

"Hot!" he said, freshly fried.

"It's hot because it's fried there," he says, pointing to the stall at the edge of the venue.

"It's a secret, but it's better here than in the big hall."

When I said that and laughed nicely, I went to recommend Fry to the next customer.

When I finished enjoying the fries and white wine, the aroma of the next dish began. It smells familiar and looks like seafood soup.

Wine alcohol (alcohol) was warming my body, but I was still feeling cold and wanted something warm.

Its seafood soup is in a teacup, with small slices of bread floating inside.

Slowly sipping that soup, white wine was available. Different from the earlier stuff, but I was talking about Ezarrington's wine.

This combination was also excellent.

As I indulged in the flavor, Viscount Radford appeared.

"Do you enjoy it"

"I didn't think so much. That's the Seawell family. It entertains me so much that I don't think I'm out there. That's Lord Radford."

to my words. He shakes his neck to the side.

"I'm barely involved. To the extent that I mentioned the supplier of the material. hahahaha"

That's what I say and laugh luxuriously.

I couldn't believe the word, and I asked, "Is that true?"

"Many of this dish was conceived by Lord Zacharias Lockhart. That's the son of a liquor god. No one goes to the modem in this cold sky. As a matter of fact, my family was worried that no one would come into the room. That's why I'm here."

It is true that nearly an hour has passed since the feast began. If you were just drinking, you would have escaped into a warm room unbearably.

"But only the Seawell family will be able to serve so much food and booze"

"I'm really glad you said that, but I didn't drink the red wine after this, and I was wondering if that word was too soon. That's what we call God's booze."

It is now noticed that I had not yet drunk the red wine of the Seawell family. Speaking of Seawell, it's red wine, but I do only drink white wine.

"Enjoy it fully after this. I would confidently recommend red wines, especially those coming out of the next. If you're going to another room because of the cold or tiredness, I'd like you to tell your servants to bring me some red wine."

This word was being said so that not only I, but all those present could hear it. I guess I'm so confident.

"I'd like to give Lord Steadman some time later, would you mind?

"Of course. It is neither for me nor for me to wish to speak with Lord Radford, who is slaughtering the house of the Seawell family"

This is no rhetoric or anything.

The Seawell family has been growing wine sales rapidly since last year. Furthermore, we have heard that plans for the construction of the distillery have also been agreed with the Dwarves, so it will definitely develop.

And more importantly, it's famous as a gastronomic city.

Cheslock territory earns cash by selling agricultural products. Of course, there is more than a certain amount of tax revenue, but income from outside the territory is very important.

Cheslock is moist in fruits, spices, etc., but the harvest of cereals such as wheat is low and the majority is purchased from outside the territory. Minus that, it's like a ton of things that aren't in deficit.

If Cheslock's produce is popular in the gastronomic city of Seawell, it is definitely popular in major cities such as Imperial City, Ezarrington and Langton. It's a city with all that publicity.

Further to what Lord Radford told me, they're hosting a wine festival. In that case, it will gain visibility at once and its promotional effects will be immeasurable.

Being kind to Lord Radford, who divides the Seawell family like that, is very beneficial to the Cheslocks.

So the option of saying no is unlikely.

With that in mind, the next wine came out.

This time again, she was a red-haired girl, carrying a glass with an adorable grin.

"It is a red wine from the village of Moulin, Seawell territory. Enjoy just the wine first"

The glass is brilliant with a beautiful red ball (ruby) coloured wine in the light of a bonfire. The same is true of previous wines, all of which are beautiful and seem to be palatable from sight.

I tried to put my mouth on the glass, but I accidentally stopped my hand at that rising scent.

The guests around them are stopping hands in the same way.

"This is the wine...... incredible"

That was an overwhelming scent to whine about. The aromatic aroma of red wine hides its ripe, berry-like sweetness.

"It's delicious when it's a little in your mouth and then slowly drunk. That's how I like to drink."

The red-haired girl passed by me as she said so.

Mouthfeel like I've been drinking many times, but I was so focused on wine that I didn't care about that.

That's when I heard cheers from the big hall. I don't know what the cheer is, but I'm concerned about this wine now, and not quite.

As I was told, after it's in my mouth, I slowly swallow it.

If you hadn't told me, I might have drank out of that overwhelming delicacy at once. The balance of aroma, acidity and tannins was so good. The smell of wooden barrels in other red wines does not feel fine dust, only the aroma of even aged wines wraps me up.

There was cheering around me too. And I seemed to unknowingly zero the voice of sentiment, just like them.

"Please have this one for this wine. The vessel is getting hot, just touch the part of the plate below"

What's served is beef dishes in warmed vessels. Every vessel is placed on a dish with cloth on it.

"It's beef stewed in red wine. It's one of Seawell's specialty dishes. Before it gets cold."

The beef is cut into bite-sized pieces and can be eaten with just a fork without using a knife.

Does it simmer well or it feels hollow enough that you hardly need to chew it.

After a good taste, include red wine in your mouth.

"Sure this fits well. What a delicacy..."

The taste of the meat blended into the sauce, the freshness of the red wine, the intricate aroma of the spices… I feel a taste that cannot be expressed in my expressive power.

Not only that, but I was impressed by the care of warming the vessel to make it harder to cool.

When I dipped the accompanying bread in the sauce and pinched it, the wine quickly disappeared.

As Lord Radford put it, I realise that there was no choice not to attend today. So satisfying food and booze.

With that in mind, the redhead girl brought another red wine.

"This one will be the one that matured the earlier one. This is what Ignacious described as“ the supreme wine ”. We'll have cheese for this later, so take your time."

That's what I'm going to say and leave the red wine.

What Lord Radford said about “the supreme wine” is a very famous story in the aristocratic community. It was a wine given only to His Majesty the Emperor and some Duke families, who did not expect it to be drinkable.

This wine, I cannot describe.

It's deeper and softer than the earlier ones, but I can't think of any more words.

There were five varieties of cheese prepared, from soft to hard, but each produced a different aroma, enough to make me think there was no better way to eat good cheese.

Drink up the supreme wine at all costs.

"The last wine is sweet from Her Royal Highness Katrina, Queen of the Kingdom of Kaum. Please join us with the accompanying pound cake."

That said the red-haired girl put down a plate with a glass and pound cake and walked away.

I didn't really like the sweet wine and enjoyed the remnants of the happy fragrance right now, but I decided to try it when I heard the ladies around me say "This is so delicious".

It has a sweet but firm aroma and is moderately chilled, so it doesn't feel sticky. When you add more pound cake to your mouth, the aroma of dried fruit, nuts and roasted wheat inside adds to the sweet wine.

So the dishes are finished, and the servants direct them to the rooms assigned to each.

This dinner party, but it's rare not to talk to anyone else this much. I was free to talk, especially in the form of a standing meal, but I was too focused on cooking and booze to feel like diplomacy.

I can also speak to a red-haired girl.

"I will show you to Viscount Radford's room"

So I spoke to her.

"May I ask your name? You must be the one to bring him to the Seawell family."

The girl named herself as she bowed her head gracefully.

"My name is Melissa Marron, daughter of Hector Marron, Minister of the Lockhart family"

So I finally know who this girl is.

to be one of Zacharias Lockhart's fiancées.

When I entered Lord Radford's office, there was an unexpected person waiting for me there.

I poke one knee and take her right hand to greet her.

"I am Viscount Edgar Steadman, a minister in the Duke of Cheslock family. We are honored to meet Master Primrose."

Yes, the second daughter of the Duke of Ezarrington, the Duke of Primrose Ezarrington, was in front of me.

At the end of the greeting, Master Primrose began to speak with a serious look.

"I have a favor to ask of Viscount Steadman. I'd like you to help me with Viscount Radford's story."

I can't even imagine what the story is.

I bet Master Primrose has never been in a story involving politics before. There have been rumors these days that Zacharias might fall in love and be descended, but still there are no rumors that would entangle politics.

"Dear Primrose, then Lord Steadman will also be in trouble. We need to talk to you first."

That's what Lord Radford started talking about instead.

The story wasn't that big of a story. They want more cocoa in Cheslock. That's a hell of a deal to have a hundred-year-old contract. I have also said that I will advance ten years' worth of money to increase production.

"That cocoa has endless possibilities. So please. Make lots of them"

That's what I say. Master Primrose bows his head.

I panicked and said, "Face up,"

"If you put your current story in writing, I will escalate it to your pavilion," I had to answer.

I don't have the guts to tell the next Chancellor's lady to bow her head and let me think.

The involvement of Viscount Radford is about gastronomy, and it won't be a bad story for Cheslock territory either.

But there's only one thing I have to check.

"Is this matter involving His Excellency the Duke of Etherlington?

Lord Primrose answers my question, not Lord Radford.

"This is my existence. My father has nothing to do with it, and we haven't talked about it."

I guess it's true because I'm slightly bitter when I look at Lord Radford.

Speaking of Primrose, I've heard you have a strong interest in sweetness, so I guess it's about that.

"I will definitely work with you on what I can do. It's a good story for the Duke of Cheslock."

I was a little drunk at that time and didn't think too deeply.

The next day, I received a written letter from Lord Radford.

It is in accordance with the form of the contract, enough to be signed immediately. I feel uncomfortable that I have been so quick to prepare.

Lord Radford has a strong image of a gastronomer, but he is a very capable civilian. I wouldn't be so prepared to not talk about making money.

But before I say I will cooperate in front of the Duke's decree, I must persuade the Miyagi to proceed.

Because an elderly duke's warrant doesn't know where to marry her.

The men of the Cheslocks have fiancées, but it is a great idea to be married to other dukes, and even to be married to the Imperial Family and Her Royal Highness the Queen.

Turning a woman to her enemies who might be at the centre of such power is a lifeline for a lower nobleman like me.

After that, I reported it to Mr. Miyagi, but without expressing interest, he immediately accepted, "Ask him if the Seawell family asks you".

From what I've heard, they have made that supreme wine a special souvenir, and at that time they seemed insisted on this cooperation.

I guess that being prepared for all this is a pretty profitable story. I feel sorry for you, but in this matter I kept going as I thought over there, and I reconsidered that I should withdraw my concessions on other things.

Later Cheslock made a great profit in the production of cocoa.

Viscount Radford and the Robbins Chamber of Commerce bought all the increased production from the recreational area, so they succeeded in earning a steady income.

However, when demand for chocolate began to grow, the story of breaking the contract with the Radford family at Cheslock and selling it to other chambers of commerce rose. At the time, a chamber of commerce had emerged that would double the Radford family's buying value, because it was thought that a bid would make several times more profitable.

But it didn't run.

It is because Viscount Steadman insisted strongly that the breach of contract was to scratch the name of the Duke of Cheslock family, but it is said that one other person turned his hand from behind.
