Dream Life

Episode 85: The History of the Human Horse Race

April 1.

Today is Spring Day and in this world there will be a Spring Festival.

Outside the central region, fall harvest festivals are the most exciting festivals, but they have the biggest spring festivals here. They say it means thanking God that the pasture has sprouted well.

At the end of breakfast, we all head outside the city.

The Lockhart family members were invited to the festival, which means that they are more dressed than usual and do not wear protective equipment, although it is the weapons that hold them. However, the Sims follow the usual equipment as escorts.

Yesterday I didn't notice, but countless numbers of nomadic and human horse tents surrounded the city.

From what I've heard from local merchants, the Spring Festival doesn't just sing and dance, but the city stands and feels like a bazaar.

The nomads are going to sell wool, fur, livestock, etc. and buy cereals, household goods, weapons, etc.

By the time you cross the fence, which is the boundary of the city, you will hear whistles and drums from the meadows. It's a cheerful festive tune to celebrate spring.

It feels like a nomadic glamour. Men and women in costumes are dancing in rings. Reminds me of fork dancing with a light step dance.

A peek at the bazaar sold a lot of things there.

Much is made of wool, cowhide and other materials, but some of them were brilliant leather works, such as belts and small storage.

There are also preserved foods, such as dried meat and cheese, which we look at and head to the camp of the Sorrel tribe.

The Sorrels were about a kilometer from the city boundary. It looks like there are nearly a thousand not only warriors who were there yesterday, but all of their families.

A young man who admitted we looked suspicious, but soon a warrior who fought yesterday approached and said, "Well attended! leading by saying."

There were other people visiting the camp of the Sorrels besides us. They seem to be merchants, bringing in not only clothing and household groceries, but also small barrels and spirits that seem to contain hemp bags and liquor containing cereals.

On the other hand, the Sorel side also shows the merchants horses, cattle, sheep, etc.

It wasn't barter from what I was looking at, it was using currency. I felt it yesterday, but it makes the impression even stronger that the Humans are not barbarians.

A warrior who led me stopped in front of a large international tent. There was Pisano, the chief we talked about yesterday, waiting.

Behind him, about ten people refrain from being key members of the tribe. Some of them were warrior chiefs and appeared to be Leeva, who fought Beatrice, and Gius, who fought me.

You don't plan to fight today, you're not wearing any armor, and the upper part of the human body is hung with a leather shirt and jacket that looks sturdy, and a beautiful colored cloth on the body part of the horse.

"Well done for coming!

When Pisano offers his right hand, my father takes that hand.

"Have fun today," he laughed, and his father smiled and replied, "I look forward to it".

When I say that, I head behind the tent.

As it progresses, the sound of the hooves grows louder along with the sound of whistles and drums.

"Let's have some fun with everyone here."

It was a square about fifty metres in diameter, where young Humane men and women danced to the music.

Sit in the car seat on that one painting.

The Pisanos also sit with their legs broken, but uncomfortable as the horses sit.

(I could sit on a horse... No, maybe the structure of my body is subtly different from that of a horse...)

When it comes to sitting down, the position of their gaze is very much the same as when we stand.

When everyone is seated, a small barrel of about sixty litres will be provided on the luggage.

"I heard the Lockhart family is quite a liquor lover. I'm letting merchants prepare the liquor I can get in Netherton today. Enjoy yourself."

I even got information on where you heard it from, that we were liquor lovers. But think back soon.

(It wouldn't be strange for a regular merchant to know if it was just a rumor in the Imperial capital...)

In fact, the Imperial Capital is shaking a variety of topics, including talking about improving the quality of Seawell wines and building a new distillery in Feelobisher.

For this reason, I guess the diagrams of liquor-lockhart and dwarf-lockhart permeate the people of the empire. There is no denying the possibility that the “Lockhart” part is “Zacharias”.

I'm not really hungry before 10: 00 yet, but I can't say no to the booze you prepared for us.

It is poured into tinned jocks, not wooden jocks. Probably because this is more vibration-resistant.

Say "then" and Pisano puts up a jock.

"Celebrate the friendship between the mighty, the Lockhart family and the Sorels, cheers!

That's what I say and tilt the jock.

I thought they would drink it up because they are good fighters, but few drank a sip. I seem too used to banqueting with the Dwarves.

The liquor is a light-colored lager type beer with a strong malty aroma and a suppressed hop aroma. Reminds me of "My Bock” being drunk in the spring in Germany.

A light knob emerges along with the beer, but the focus is on those who talk rather than drink. There are some people at the banquet yesterday who seem to think it was helpful because some of them are hungover.

I heard later that he was strong enough for alcohol, but that his insistence as a warrior did not allow him to get drunk and restrained himself even at festivals.

The words pierced my chest. I give up immediately that I won't be able to, although I hope I won't too.

My father talks to the chief Pisano, and my mother and rosary blossom into talking to the chief's wife and daughter.

Beatrice was talking to the warrior chief he fought yesterday about the spear.

I was interested in the Humans, so I decided to talk to the Humans in the old atmosphere. Liddy, Mel, Sharon, and Luna are with us.

The ancient name was Mateo Sorrell, and he was Pisano's father, a previous chief. His face is engraved with deep wrinkles and he feels an aura like a wise man.

He drinks horse milk wine, not beer, and a fermented smell like cheese drifts.

"It's been a long time since I've talked to people," he laughed.

"If you're traveling, if you have something interesting to tell me, why don't you let me hear it from this grandfather?"

"I don't know if it's funny, but talk about the King's Capital of the Kingdom of Kaum..."

Talk about what it was like to be on a journey. Especially when it came to Dwarves.

"I didn't know Dwarf was such a fun species. Scales from the eyes. Fofofofo!"

They also go well to blacksmiths not only about weapons and tools, but also about the manufacture and care of hooves. Though Dwarf was drinking at that time, he said he had no bare hands to show at the banquet with us and was surprised.

We'll be welcoming each other soothingly like that.

Mateo told me a lot of interesting stories about the lives of the Humans and what happened in the meadows.

He's a good talker for ex-warriors, and he sounds like he enjoys listening to the fiercely familiar Liddy and the pull-in idea Luna.

After all the talk, I asked him what he cared about. Of course, I'm not talking about horse milk liquor.

"... why has such a powerful human horse tribe complimented the Empire? I don't think the Imperial Army can handle so many human horse warriors today."

All I cared about was the history of the Humans and Nomads suddenly admiring the Empire. I've been wondering about it since I was in Doctus, and I've been looking into it in the Great Library, but I didn't think it was true with all the descriptions of "fallen into the glory of the Empire”.

"I care about funny things," he laughs, but his eyes, unlike anything he's ever had, had become serious.

"Fair enough. Then you can tell me the legacy of Nong et al..."

That's what I said and started talking about it.

"The Nun and the Humans overwhelmed the Imperial Army at the time. The magician seems to have slipped a little, but the infantry has no hands, no legs. Don't you think it's natural?

"Yeah, we made a deal yesterday and I thought so, too. Even our squire would be confused if he was struck with an arrow as he walked and stormed with a spear where he was confused. I learned that the old Imperial Army was dominated by infantry. There's nothing you can't confront if you form a party, but then you lack decisiveness. The magic of a magician is also inferior to a bow in range… so I couldn't help but wonder."

"I don't know what the Empire is talking about, but if we keep fighting like that, they won't waver. But something happened.

"Something"? What's that like?

"The chieftains of the main races of the Humane Horse descended from God of the Earth."

I don't think of the word "trust," I get a glance at it.

(Does the Humans also have a role in fighting enemies with the gods? Then you could be involved with me...)

It wasn't just me, Liddy and the others had a serious look on their face. Probably thinking the same thing as me.

"What kind of trust is it? Would you mind telling me if I didn't?"

"If it means not speaking without darkness, you can tell me. There are some parts of me that I can't talk to."

"Of course it is. There's no leak in what we hear from our mouths."

Mateo stares me in the eye, then narrows his eyes and nods small.

"Fine. Then let me teach you the inheritance that will be passed down to my clan. On the night our ancestors left the Great Attack of the Imperial Army, a temple descended from Mons to the then chiefs. For all the chiefs of the ten families... there are two contents of the trust. The first is to accept it because the Empire will send a messenger of reconciliation on the terms of breaking. The second is about the future, but it's forbidden to tell anyone but the chief and the warrior..."

"Is it the future..." he muttered.

"... the first trust soon became a reality. Until then, the empire, which has insisted on unconditional surrender only, has turned it into a request for complete autonomy in exchange for food aid. Initially I suspected it was a trap, but I went into consultation because the chiefs of the ten clans were under the same divine orders. The Empire made further concessions. If I swear allegiance to the Emperor, I will be relieved of all duties such as taxes and military service. Regardless, we may ask for a troop, but if we refuse, we will not be held accountable… We worship the God of the earth (Mons) most among the twelve gods. The conclusion was that doubting the trust was doubting Mons, and he reconciled himself with the Empire."

"Has the Empire never broken a promise in its long history? In a hundred years, some would have forgotten, and I don't think it would be strange to have someone out there driven by greed?

So Mateo laughs nicely.

"Whatever. But all those emperors disappeared quickly. Some accidents are accidental, some are illnesses that do not cure magic, and others are assassinated by their families… We have only heard that it was forbidden (taboo) for the Imperial Family to reach us. It's only hearsay, so I don't know if it's true or false."

If God is holding back behind him, even the emperor of the most powerful nation in the world will not be able to defend himself. If we knew that if we put our hands on the Humans, we would shrink our own lives, there would be no emperor out there trying to get his hands on a meadow where no great right would be gained.

"Is the story of the future already over?

"No, not yet. Even after 2,000 years. When did God tell you anything about the time?"

The shocking story is over. I'm the one who made me listen, but I can't react with unexpected stories.

(If God is involved, he's more likely to be involved with Luna. I wonder what it was about......)

When we were silent, Mateo turned his attention to Luna.

"Is the lady from Lockhart, too?

Luna wonders how to answer that and looks at me.

I nodded at her and took the story away.

"This child is our family. I have a little situation..."

So I thought I'd tell her a story about her being attacked by a demon clan. Because I thought it might be advantageous to impress her here if the earlier story of God involved her.

"Luna, can I talk to you about you," Luna nodded small, "Yes. Because it's already blown out," he laughed. The smile is a little lonely, but I didn't feel threatened.

"She is the only survivor of a village attacked by demons living in the east. Coincidentally (...), we helped, not only my parents, but they killed everything I know... and it's finally getting brighter..."

Mateo turns a sympathetic eye to "such a thing".

And he invited Luna, put his hand on her head,

"The Lockhart family has become our friend. When the time comes to get help, don't rely on Nona. If you ask the merchants in the city of Netherton, you'll know where Nona is."

It's too much to be sympathetic, but the chief Pisar said the same thing to us, so I guess it's a favor for the Lockhart family.

Finish the conversation and say thank you to Mateo.

"Thank you for sharing your valuable story. It was a story that the Empire would never know, so I finally got rid of my doubts."

"You don't have to worry. I just thought we should talk somehow. I hope you think it's Grandpa's whim."

Afterwards, I was given a little horse milk wine. because I thought only the tribe people could drink. When I asked about it,

"I don't mind drinking with friends, but I heard that horse milk wine doesn't suit my mouth. What do you say?

The flavor was indeed subtle.

I don't think it tastes good just because it smells like too much fermented cheese and has a strong acidity.

Mateo breaks his face big enough to see if that came out on his face.

"Things don't taste very good this time of year. If you get a chance to drink around autumn, you should try it..."

It seems that horse milk liquor is made from summer to autumn, and this is not such a good time for spring ahead.

Liddy, who is with him, just gave up with his nose close, and Mel and Sharon also shake their necks sideways.

I just didn't recommend it to Luna. I heard about it, because I had heard that if I couldn't drink it, I would have abdominal pain.

I don't know if I'm in any danger, but I think it's okay because I have “disease tolerance" skills.

I thank Mateo and go back to my fathers.

Then Theo and Serra were shaking as if they were expressing joy all over their bodies.

"Sounds so happy, is something wrong?

"I got a horse!" and Serra hugs me to express her joy.

"Mr. Pisano rewarded us for our battle! One young horse about two years old for us... it's a beautiful horse!

Theo explained to me with excitement.

Looks like we talked about that while we were talking to Mateo.

When I hear "What kind of horse is it," each takes my left and right hand and pulls it to the meadow that is the grazing land.

"That girl!," Serra points. Beyond that was a sneaky frog horse of glossy black colour eating grass.

"Mine is that one!," he pointed as if Theo were going to confront him. Theo's horse was nearly silver gray and this one was beautiful.

"Now I'm with my brothers!" and Serra is delighted as she jumps with Piong Piong.

The horses given to us yesterday by the Sorels are assigned to us, Zaksextet and our squire. Even so, it doesn't mean it's completely personal, it's just for use during this trip.

It was a big black horse that was assigned to me.

I had no choice but to choose because I didn't try to put anyone on it but me, but I got a subtle look at the combination of black costumes and black horses.

(Is it a class change from Lord Dark to a late century champion? I don't have horns in my helmet, so maybe I'll be fine... with that being said, they're both dying unemployed...)

I had a subtle feeling, but the surroundings were very well received.

"This is all they like, so why don't you make it a horse?" Liddy says, "and Beatrice laughed," Don't give up because you're the only one who's willing to put me on it, "he said.

Theo and Serra were the most excited, and they said they were jealous. That seems to have made me excited that I can get a horse today.

I had an afternoon drink with the Sorels, but it wasn't over yet.

I went to the Blacksmith Guild and still have a tasting for the Zack collection.

I had no problems with those who were drinking because I regularly hung the magic of detoxification, but I was worried that it would not affect my departure tomorrow.
