Dream Life

Episode 10: Fighting in the

May 25th.

He was about to cross the border between Fortis, the mercenary country, and the Caerm Empire, Roguedale.

After noon, there were few different merchants and the merchants moving in the same direction could no longer be seen.

By then the top will be closer and the gradient will be even tighter. The fact that we put in frequent breaks, and the fact that the carriage is lighter than the merchants, makes the horses less burdensome, but still slows down.

In addition, the streets are narrower and the carriage is finally different. If there was a raid here, there would be no escape, and a long line could be avenged, causing great damage due to the dispersion of power.

My father cares about that, too, and he's consulting with me and Beatrice, who will be in command before and after the line at the break.

"Should I go forward too"

My father commands the whole thing in the middle of the line, but considering the possibility of attacking me from the front, he has asked me if I should come forward.

"I don't know what they're after, but you better stay away from the center"

"But in this situation, I'm going to take the lead. I think you should have me."

"I think that's likely, but this time we have the Netherton craftsmen and their families. I want you to stay in the center, as usual, to remove their anxiety."

"I think so, too. Me, Mel, and Dan can handle it without my stepfather. If I have to, I can count on Lydia and Sharon."

"Right. Then I shall be in the centre, as I have always been. But the avant-garde is tough, so let's turn Luke and Mark around."

Luke, who is also an excellent swordsman in the role of squire compiler, and Mark, a well-armed archer, were to be sent to the avant-garde.

Additionally, Liddy and Sharon were also allowed to be slightly forward from the center, putting in place a system where support could be provided without moving.

And 3: 00 p.m.

The Lockhart family arrived at the top of the canopy.

Below you can see the countryside of the eastern realm of the Empire, as well as the Wale Peninsula in the distance.

Immediately after everyone thinks they have slipped through the candle, Dan's scream suddenly sounds.

"Ambush ahead! Most archers! Evacuate to the shield!

And Liddy's tall scream also sounds.

"Enemy behind you, too! He's about to drop a rock! Get out of the carriage!

Craftsmen and their families, who were in a carriage in Liddy's voice, jump off the carriage in a hurry.

Looks like we've got ourselves into a trap.

I was sure of the victory.

The Lockhart family's long line has crossed the top of the canopy, but they still haven't noticed us.

"Give Samson a signal! Drop the rocks!

Orders Samson, the deputy captain lurking in the woods ahead of him, to drop a rock in order to instruct him to attack and at the same time crush Lockhart's carriage directly below him.

"Kill the blacksmith guild people too! Mick, you're in command here. I'll see what I can do."

"I got it, Doug's husband," Mick grins with a big scratch on his cheek.

This guy sounds like a dick the way he talks and looks, but he cuts his head off. This operation was his idea, too.

The first time I heard about it was three months ago.

At that time, I didn't think I could sell fights to the Lockhart family and return home safely, nor did I think I could safely pass through the Empire before that.

But since this guy became my right arm, he's infiltrated the empire well, and he's behaved well since he got into this neighborhood. With that in mind, I'm beginning to wonder if I can make it back to Luke's lair alive after successfully completing this operation.

Of course, this operation has been given sufficient fighting power by Luke's officials after identifying the Lockhart family's power. If there were so many armed men, raiding the Imperial Army's Heavy Forces would succeed.

But Lockhart has a powerful magician named Zacharias. There are other magicians named Lydiane and Sharon, and these three alone could have wiped us out. This time the liver is going to disable them.

It was Mick who thought about it. Even so, his plan isn't that complicated.

He drops a rock and blocks the streets where the center of the line crosses the line, breaking off the enemy's power. Thirty troops, mainly twenty archers, will be placed forward, defeating the enemy from a distance. In the meantime, the main unit, which has finished dropping rocks, slashes into the centre. Zacharias in the rear doesn't go forward with a bow towed from the top of the canopy, but slaps the rear guard after annihilating the front and center.

The rock next to me makes a noise and falls.

Soon I heard the sound of a carriage named Gusha crumbling and multiple women screaming. However, it seems that Lydiane's warning worked, those on board were already down and just stayed to crush the carriage.

Drop two more rocks, but no damage was done to the enemy. Still, not only the rocks, but the confusion was blocking the way for multiple carriages, and the operation of dividing the front and rear was a success.

I take twenty men and I go down the street to tell the rocks.

The place we were was was about twenty meters (melt) high from the street, and it also broke my bones to get down there. A lot of guys have ropes available in advance but aren't used to this sort of thing, and it takes longer than I thought.

Send a gaze to the Samsons as they descend. Arrows were constantly released from the woods, and two soldiers who were at the avant-garde of the Lockhart family were down.

I'm relieved that I should have done this before. And then he glanced at the center where we were headed. There's a carriage crushed by a rock, and a woman and child who escaped trying to crawl and hide behind a rock.

Next to it was a commander-like great man waving his sword up to take command. There are just three dwarves and two kids around.

(Where did Lydiane and Sharon go?

Doubts come to mind, but the answer was quickly found. They were getting off the horse and running between carriages to support the avant-garde.

"Target them!" and give instructions to the Mick on top.

I hear "Copy!" but there are only ten archers up there. Given the restraint on Zacharias, it would only be harassment.

It took me about five minutes to get down the street. Two of my men were killed by archers, two were injured, but there are still seventeen, including me. Lockhart's power is about twenty men, and it's a situation without Beatrice and Zacharias, his biggest power. This alone would be an excessive force.

"He's the Masaias! Pick him up!

I heard Mick's exciting voice from above.

I don't need him to tell me, my biggest goal this time is the Lord Masaias. Next, Zacharias, my second son, but Rodrick was supposed to end it with me. But for some reason we were acting differently and this time we were to give up.

"Focus on him!," he said from his men, "Ooh!" The cry goes up.

Masaias also reacts to that voice.

"Keep them away from me!," he yells, jumping from his horse and pointing his sword at him. That's a grand setup that impresses me as the head of the prestigious Lockhart family of Wu.

From afar, she said, "Lydia and Sharon go to your father-in-law!" I hear a Beatrice-like woman. Attacks from two magicians are troublesome. Besides, it is difficult to fight even with seventeen men here, so I order five men to restrain them.

At this time there were three dwarves, two children, and one young swordsman and one magician around Masaias. Double the number of children because they don't get into numbers. Above all, this swordsman's arm is above level thirty. If you wrap it up all at once, you'll be able to kill it without hanging it for five minutes.

"John is beside me! David, tow him with a spear from behind! The blacksmiths use the carriage as a shield for restraint! Theo, don't let Sella do this from the front! Just focus on the agitation and buy us some time!

When I commanded that much, I formed between a crushed carriage and a cliff to avoid being sidelined. That's the rock heart of the war. It also gives precise instructions in this situation.

But it's also a wasted effort.

"I'm opening a breakthrough! Don't take my hand away from me! Clean it up all at once before the magician gets here!

That said, I stick my long sword straight out and storm as I consolidate my defense with a shield on my left hand.

I'm the best user in the unit, but I'm not the most aggressive. Either that's because I'm good at defense, but in this situation, I'm the quickest way to get in and stop him from moving.

Masaias has slammed the bastard sword against my shield. The shock stops me from advancing.

But it didn't just stop. He stuck his long sword straight out as he drove off the attack with his shield.

The aim is a gap in his armor. This guy's armor belongs to a superior blacksmith. My sword isn't as cheap as it sounds, but it still definitely plays. So I aimed for a gap between the chest armor (Cuiras) and the shoulder (Spaulder).

My attack was easily launched. He expected to come after the place and avoided poking by defying his body.

Still, I could afford it. Because my proximity allowed my men to mount it. If this happens, this one has an overwhelming advantage over the number and skill.

That's what I thought, but from left to right, I said, "Ouch, shit!" I heard voices that could not be exclaimed or screamed.

I'm slashing Masaias and I can't afford to watch, but it seems my men have fallen under attack. So I didn't know exactly what was going on.

Two more men fall from their knees. I finally understood what happened there. At the end of my gaze was a dwarf with a one-handed hammer.

A young Dwarf said, "Let me do it!," he exclaims, waving his hammer. Of course, his men attack him with a sword, but Dwarf suffered that slash with sturdy protective equipment and was still flat down the hammer.

I heard it was sturdy, but I didn't expect Dwarves to fight so much out of common sense, and I'm flabbergasted.

More screams were heard from the rear. I'm guessing he wasn't alarmed, but he slashed his men's legs while the two kids ran.

Five men have been rendered powerless, but this one is also slashing and laying down the swordsman who stood beside Masaias, and Masaias himself breathes with his shoulders.

And the Dwarves, this ambush, but these guys aren't intact either. No, it's so bloody full of creation, so strange to be standing.

"We'll settle this once and for all! Don't let Dwarf get any closer!

That's all I ordered, and I was struck hard by the head. He fell, not knowing what had happened, and when he realized it, he was looking up at the sky.

I smelled blood in the back of my nose and noticed that my helmet was gone. Looking to the side, a helmet with an unusual form of throwing sword stabbed was falling.

"Father!" I heard the voice and thought of the young man and the sound of his hooves.

As I shook my head and stood up with my sword as a cane, a black warrior across a giant black horse was looking down at me.

That black warrior, Zacharias, has stuck every horse inside of us. Including me in the force, my men panic.

Sadly, "Wow!" and I scream. I've never fought a cavalry before, and I never thought it would be more horrible.

A giant hoof crushes his men's heads like watermelons. Zacharias had also swung his sword and one of his men had been slashed.

With this intrusion, the battle trend leaned towards Lockhart at once. Looking up, the support from above was already gone, as were the men who headed for the Lydianes.

I guess Zacharias or Lydiane defeated the archers on the cliff and unleashed more magic on five of their men.

I hadn't given up winning yet. Because if you defeat the Masaias in front of you, you will achieve your purpose.

Squeeze your courage and head towards Masaias.

"Die!" he says and waves down his sword. Normally I don't utter words like that, but in this situation I had no choice but to arouse myself.

Masaias takes my sword with a bastard sword. That's as far as I expected. I hit the shield attack (shield bash) while sticking my shield forward.

Masaias' body blows away. He was hitting the carriage behind him on the back and poking his knee.

Zacharias is kicking his men, and he's away from me.

Now we can defeat Masaias. That's what I think, I rebuild my sword, and I stick it in every body. Now it's a full-bodied blow that doesn't even think about targeting a gap in armor.

I tried to stick my sword in the belly of a defenseless guy. But my sword was held back by his armor and I couldn't even scratch it. The surprise divided the victory or loss of the battle.

A moment later, the slaughter of a swordsman and the relentless blow of a dwarf were struck.

The torso armor plays, and the bones all over his body fall to the spot under the shock of falling apart. The right arm bent to the weirder, and the sword was flying far.

The raw liquid flows through his forehead and his vision is dyed red.

So I lost consciousness.

When I woke up, the day was leaning, and it seemed like it had been about two hours.

Tied tight with rope, unable to move. However, the treatment seemed to have been given and there was no pain except in the right arm.

"I'm in trouble if I can get away with it. My right arm only has first aid."

The Lord of that voice was a blonde young man with black armor. Behind it also stands Masaias.

"You lost... you're strong, Lockhart is... hehe..."

I just had to laugh. Both Masaias and Zacharias are alive and well, having more than tripled their power and even hung up to the ambush.

"How many of my men are alive?

"Thirty-five. Unless someone escaped, but they probably captured everything."

It was a complete defeat.

More than half of my men died. Not only that, but I survived knowing the whole operation.

It should have been seen by Luke's officials from afar, but even if they hadn't been caught, it would be revealed that Luke was involved.

"What's your damage, by the way? How many are dead?

"I didn't let one die. There have been serious injuries."

I'm flattered by the word, but I recall that this man is also superb as a healer.

"Anything but instant death...... that was the word from Lockhart's training. I didn't know it was the same in action..."

I was unwilling to resist. As it is, I know it will be handed over to the Imperial security forces and executed, but I have no choice but to prepare and lose so far.

It's an unplugged way of dying to tighten your life, but it's far better than wild drooling. For once, you die a warrior.
