Dream Life

Episode XVII: Infrastructure Development

October 1st.

Today is the harvest festival, the village is busy in the morning.

When I returned to the village at the end of June it felt like a bummer, but when my brother Rodrick and brother-in-law Rosalind, and Sim Marron and his fiancée Angelica, returned to the village in August, I was completely at peace.

Crusade operations in the northern region, in which the brothers took part, have proceeded well, crusading many bandits and demons.

The effect also breathed some breath back in the northern region, where the economy had stagnated due to the decline in security. However, they haven't gotten their hands on the bandits spreading on Aurelia Avenue on the north side of the Fatas River, and haven't even reached full resurrection.

Still moving steadily in a good direction. The army of the Northern Governor's Office, which was marching to the Holy Kingdom of Lukes, began returning.

The latest information indicates that the last unit left the western frontline base of Lark Hill, so if there's no trouble, all units should have arrived in the northern territorial capital of Welburn by now.

If the army returns, we can also normalize Aurelia Street, so it will be fully normalized.

This other major news is the triumph of Crown Prince Gigismund and Duke Alexis Ezarrington.

According to information received from Viscount Ignacious Radford, a grand celebration took place over two days in the Imperial City, and regardless of the Crown Prince's unpopular origins, the appreciation of the Imperial Citizen for Lord Ezarrington became immense.

It's just a rumor, but they're also talking about taking over the prime minister position from Lord Feelobisher at the end of this year.

It seems that Grand Duke Langton and others, the Leopold princess faction, disagreed on this, but with the same force Lord Ezarrington is taking over the Holy General, the number three of the Holy King's kingdom, compared to Prince Leopold, who was not able to achieve great results.

He also highly appreciated the achievements of the Holy Knights, almost devastated by the Holy King's propaganda for being the strongest fighting group, and the Grand Duke of Langton could not be strongly said.

And Luke's Holy King, beaten to pieces by Lord Ezarrington before he was completely skinless, but internal protests began, as the Empire thought.

Information gathered through commercial guilds seems to indicate the following situations:

Archbishop Bernardino Rolfo, leader of the Light Divinity, was fiercely disputed by Silvano II, the head of secularism. The Holy King pressed that the Archbishop should resign to blame because the Holy General of the Order, Montemenzi, had led the defeat.

Rolfo disputed that the military was in the hands of the Holy King's Palace and that it was the Holy King who recognized Montemenzi as General.

I hear that all the information around here was hearsay, and I don't know how accurate it is, but it was a rather ugly argument.

Although the Holy King disputed it, he had the burden of recounting Montemenzi, also a relative, and contemplated using the Cardinal Marino Perdisa in order to drive Lorfo down.

Perdisa was the man who panicked (panicked) at the Battle of Abadzac and abandoned his friends and closed the castle gate. It was vehemently condemned by the priests, starting with the archbishop general, for that.

He himself, feeling ease in his own deeds, assumed that as it was, the Archbishop General would hold him responsible for his defeat and he would be condemned to death. To survive, he rode the invitation of the Holy King, who was supposed to be his enemy.

The Holy King makes Perditha testify that the responsibility for this defeat rests with the Holy General Gaspare Montemenzi and the priests who were advising him. Perditha was an army superintendent who decided on the prize and, as the Holy King put it, testified that the Holy Gentlemen and the priests were responsible.

Furthermore, the Holy King reached out to the other Cardinals to make a crack inside the Order.

There are five cardinals in Phototheism, and six, the seventh floor, including the Holy General, have enough power to elect the Archbishop. The Holy King came into contact with two of the four, with the exception of Perditha.

The Archbishop General Rolfo felt a sense of crisis and turned to a backlash. He chose a more direct method than the Holy King, namely the means of assassination.

On June 9, the Holy King Silvano II suddenly collapsed.

Everyone thought it was an assassination because it was sudden death at this time, and because until then there had been no anxiety in health.

Perditha, who testified further against the Archbishop, also reached a questionable end. He had a heart attack in the hall surrounding his mistress.

To date, power struggles have been frequent within the Holy King, but there has never been a blatant use of the means of assassination. Of course, I know you've used it so that you can't, but there was an implicit understanding.

These facts revealed the existence of assassination units, also known in the Empire as eyebrow saliva.

Rolfo chose a person close to himself as the Holy King.

The new Holy King was Augustino I, after which the former Holy Kings were swept from the upper echelons of the Holy King's Palace. Officials are stunned by its forceful methods, but they thought the Archbishop was trying to physically sweep away the hostile forces and had no choice but to remain silent.

But neither could the Archbishop solemnly sanctify all former Holy Kings. Enforcement of Solemn Qing would make it imperative for the administration to lag behind, forcing it to leave a lower official of the former Holy Kings.

In July, the Saint Kings arose before that. As soon as they had control of the Holy King's Palace, they turned their armies to the cathedral where the Church headquarters were located.

At this time, the Archbishop had only an assassination unit, but not a powerful operational unit. The Saints, the only troops in action, were on the verge of collapsing in Abadzac's defeat. It is said that even without the most defeats, he would not have originally had strength and could not have fought against the secular knights.

The Archbishop also struck a bold hand here. He declared that he would add secular knights to the Order of the Holy Knights, which was heretofore hereditary. Many of the secular knights craved the power of the Order and turned back to the Archbishop, especially because those who could use light attribute magic assumed preferential treatment.

This measure worked and the rebel play in the Holy City closed in just three days.

The confusion seems to have continued after this, but no information has come in yet.

The leadership of Luke's Holy King was badly wounded about this one. Lorfo's resort to assassination plunged the upper ecclesiastical hierarchy into suspicion that he was "not himself next”. It seems that the conservative layer, which was Lorfo's support layer, is beginning to move away from the denial of further hereditary systems.

On the other hand, it is significant that the structure of dual domination of the Church and the Holy King's Palace, which had created chaos in the Holy Kingdom for many years, has collapsed. In the future, the centralization of power in Rolfo, a powerful leader, cannot be denied the possibility of working positively for a country called Luke's Holy King.

I don't know how the effects of Rolfo's forceful methods will come about, but at least it's going as thought by Chancellors Lord Feelobisher and Lord Ezarrington.

This is what big political moves look like, but there was this other piece of news.

I am pregnant with my sibling Rosalind. A nephew or niece will be born before next summer.

Furthermore, Beltram's wife, Meena, Wilhelmina, was also pregnant. A long-awaited first child will be born for Beltram before spring.

Another good news is Sim Marron's marriage to Angelica.

Heading to Baron Colridge territory near Welburn, Sims, who has attached permission to marry, is returning to the village for a wedding after reporting to his father.

There were a lot of other things, but I still coached Luna. But it's a difficult situation to say that it's working.

First of all about magic, but it was relatively easy to feel magic, but the conversion to magic at the heart has not been successful.

The process of giving magic to the Spirit is unsuccessful.

I gave her an example of the original world, and she seemed to understand herself, but it didn't really work out if it was also a psychological block.

I'm just trying a lot with Liddy and Sharon on this. I try not to be in too much of a hurry because it is most commonplace to take years to train magicians.

On the other hand, the body is doing relatively well.

He was smaller than a child in the village of Rasmore because he grew up in the village of Thysek on the border where the food situation is poor, but the dramatic improvement in his diet over the past two years and the recent start of moderate exercise have had a good effect and his physical abilities have definitely increased.

Still, it's not enough to take part in Lockhart Stream training, so it's where you run through Museum Hill and use iron bars and ropes to build on the basics.

She herself, unfortunately about magic, was convinced by those who improved her physical abilities.

"I feel my body move more than it did when I was in Japan. Even so, I never climbed a tree when I was a kid."

I only keep the brightness like this. The presence of Mel and Sharon seems significant on this.

The two of them are often with Luna, and also do her hobby of making sweets together. So much so that they look like good sisters.

"Sometimes I think it's okay to be a cook and apprentice to Mr. Molly."

Sometimes, I say that, but I immediately deny the word by saying, "But you better be able to fight in this world, right?"

Inside, you want to focus more on cooking and making sweets than on remembering the moves to fight.

"Well, magic is convenient. You can tell by looking at me," he says. Because if you don't, it will be hard to keep quiet about her mission.

"Right. But isn't it uncommon for someone to use magic for alcohol and cooking as much as Mr. Zach?

"They say that a lot.“ Do you use magic for that? "But when they say it, they always say it and argue it.“ What if I don't use it for this? "

I laugh out loud when I say that. That only lightens the burden on my mind a little bit.

Other than Luna's guidance, he trains himself and develops village infrastructure.

As always, those who work out will only be actively mentored by their grandfather, but they do a lot of infrastructure development in the village.

Firstly, the installation of an underground reservoir of liquor that I had originally intended to do.

Before leaving for Imperial Capital, Museum Hill had built a basement about ten meters square on the north slope, with some of it as an ice chamber.

Ice is cutting out what you put up in the pond during the winter, a way that doesn't use magic.

The purpose of this is to be able to deal with me and Sharon even in their absence, like this one.

This cellar holds barrels of wine that are given annually by the Marquis of Seawell. It is kept in a room separated from the ice chamber so as not to be too cold, and physically stored about ten degrees.

This is because I don't know when I'll be able to return to the village, so the fermentation won't go too far.

The wine, however, is packed in all bottles made during the journey and stored in a storage magic (inventory) and basement. Stored in the basement accelerates time in the inventory, placing three to ten year items in hundreds.

This was a dummy to hide the existence of the inventory, as well as to ascertain maturation in the basement.

By the way, I'm in the basement, but I use it as a refrigerator, not just liquor. This allowed the preservation of meat and eliminated the need to process it immediately into smoked and other preserved foods, as before.

With my father's permission and the agreement of the residents, I also create a basement of the same size on the northern slopes of the other hills. So far, there has been no effect on crops I've been worried about, and it's well received that it can also be used to store harvested crops.

We didn't make it this year, but we also plan to have a basement for the ice room after next year. This is for cooling the beer consumed in the village, not only because of the dwarves in the training institute, but also because of the requests made by the owners of the three inns.

After me and Sharon embarked on a journey, they blurted out that the beer couldn't cool down and that they couldn't drink cold beer in the bath from the Dwarves and vigilantes.

A cellar is currently stockpiled with liquor for the Victory Festival to be held in October. This was made in the neighborhood before it got really hot. Since the number of dwarves visiting this festival is not as low as last year, I believe I have been able to secure a sufficient amount of alcohol.

In addition to this, work has begun on the development of village infrastructure.

That's sewer maintenance.

The current village of Rasmore employs a suction toilet, but the population is more than one and five times larger than it was when I started reforming. As a result, it was becoming a limit in the way it was mixed with livestock excreta and fermented.

There is also a greater number of people coming from outside than before and a greater risk of plague outbreaks.

That's why we decided to set up a full-scale sewer.

sewage treatment in this world, but unexpectedly it was not drooling.

It was also a very unique method, using an amorphous organism (slime), a demon.

This slime-type sewage treatment system is standard in Imperial fortified cities, starting with Imperial Primes.

To tell the truth, I've known about this for quite some time. At the time I started living in the academic city of Doctus, I thought the sewage was drooling, because when I looked it up, I found that there was a sewage treatment system using slime.

There was too much to do in Doctus to have time to look into it in earnest, only to the extent of reading the literature, and to introduce it into the village. Exactly how to use demons, and there was hesitation. However, I was able to hear directly from experts on this trip to Imperial City, and I was able to step through the introduction.

That I met an expert, but this was a total coincidence.

When planning to build a distillery in the Duke of Feelobisher's territory, it is significant that he gained knowledge with Montague Underwood, an official of the Imperial Agency of Engineering.

The Agency is a department that develops infrastructure such as roads and fortifications, and naturally also owns sewers. That's why I asked him to introduce me to an expert, where I could gain knowledge.

A sewage treatment plant with this slime, but basically an easy structure.

Prepare some shallow tanks to slime into the basement and pour sewage into one of them. When a certain amount of dirt builds up, the stick with the float rises and rings the bell. So the staff manually switches to the next tank.

The slimes melt the debris and dirt that came in. Make sure that after a certain amount of time there is no more debris or dirt and discharge water to the downstream side.

Although this treatment plant comes in with rainwater, there is a bypass line for overflow that discharges directly into the sea and rivers in response to heavy rainfall. For this reason, they don't seem to be a problem, as not only fully treated water is discharged, but it is diluted with enough rainwater that it cannot be treated.

It's a slime used here, but it's a dangerous thing that can strike people by calling it a grade 10 equivalent demon. Nor can it be prevented from going outside in something like an iron lattice due to the fact that it is indeterminate.

That's where it's used was the magic prop of the lights. The slime is of a light-hungry nature, making it impossible to escape by placing powerful light magic items at the entrance and exit. They also have multiple sets of magic props for that light, and the slime has never escaped.

I'm not familiar with sewage treatment systems, but I think they did very well.

This slime-type sewage treatment system was tested and introduced into Kanga Hill.

Slime, but until now it has not been considered a threat and has been left unattended. To do so, you can find it relatively easily if you go to the East Forest.

The slime I found weighs about ten kilograms and is not an onion type like a game, it is just an amorphous object of drool. He moves very slowly, but as he approaches, he stretches his tentacles and tries to take them into his body.

The body of the slime contains a dissolving solution, which dissolves and nourishes the organic matter. It also seems that this lysate has a sterilizing effect, and drainage does not always cause the disease to occur. The most imperial technicians did not have the concept of sterilization.

Because the dissolving solution is not as soluble as strong acid, even leather gloves can be adequately protected in a short time. It is possible to bring it back safely by placing it in a pottery jar with a lid after protection.

The sewer is big enough for people to walk, thinking about maintenance. However, Kanga Hill is also a castle fortress, so there are several lines of about the thickness of the earthen pipe, connected to the sewer outside, so that people and demons cannot easily penetrate the water discharge and overflow lines. It was also normally an operation to lower and close the gate.

Why I am referring to this point is because when I heard about the sewage treatment system in Teito, I thought intruder prevention measures were a pretty good addition or subtraction.

Due to the high amount of water discharged in Teito, it is a water discharge line about three meters high. For once an iron lattice was installed at the exit to prevent intrusion from the outside, but little security was provided and it was felt to be dangerous.

I asked Underwood on this point, but he was optimistic that it was like a maze and that he would not use the sewer to break in because the smell was intolerable as well.

The treatment plant itself was built in the basement of Kanga Hill, making the water discharge point a little farther but downstream of the Finn River flowing through the west side of the village.

For this reason, we will be digging more than two kilometers of tunnels with a total extension, and in conjunction with the installation of the basement, the magic we used when we returned to the village was almost earthly attribute magic. Thanks also to this, the level of earthly attribute magic is raised to sixty-three.

Sewage management, but is carried out by those who have been instructed by the sewage manager of the city of Kilnarek, a fortified city.

I haven't had any trouble so far, so I'm just looking at the time and thinking about installing it all over the village.
