Dream Life

Lesson 26: Exploration

He entered the forest at the foot of the Aquila Mountains to investigate the ancient site of Professor Kittry Erbain. The ruins themselves were not found, but we were able to find the path that the Demons or the Imperial Army that followed them believed to have used.

At that time, Luna and her sister Sofia were both trained, and since it was the fifth day of the planned investigation, they returned to the village once.

October 3.

We ended the harvest festival on October 1st and were to enter the East Forest again. This time it's just us, Zack Sexted and Mr. Kitley, scheduled for a maximum investigation period of ten days.

Rough plan, but first we'll follow the traces we last found based on the eastern side of Lake Seelin. Probably going deep inside the mountains of the Aquila Mountains, so in the worst case scenario, you'll go while making a route with my earthly attribute magic.

Climatically the most stable period of the year, but Aquila's mountains are not a strange place for second- or third-degree demons to come out if you go in the back. For this reason, it was decided that the stay in the mountains would be set at seven days and that a survey would be conducted in multiple instalments.

If we don't set the number of days, this is for Mr. Kitley, who is burning in his exploratory mind, to try to continue the investigation forever.

Usually I have to pull it up because of supplies, but with my storage magic (inventory), I don't get replenishment problems.

In fact, there's no problem extending it if it's a safe place, but Aquila isn't safe enough to be licked and hung. Also, if you don't schedule an appointment, my father could send out a search party, which could cause a secondary shipwreck.

Mr. Kitley was at first dissatisfied with the overly cautious plan.

"I think you guys are as easy to defeat as the Land Dragon or the First Giant."

She's right, Dan's ability to fight foes, Me and Liddy, Sharon's ability to attack ranges, Mel and Beatrice's ability to fight melee, we can do something with the Ground Dragon or Cyclops. But if more demons or multiple demons attacked us, we all threatened to lose our lives on the slopes of mountains with few escapes.

"It is also possible that there will be more demons. Sometimes the demons of the Augustus come out in flocks. Exactly. If there were twenty orgasms out in the mountains, we wouldn't be sure we'd win."

Explaining that,

"Right. I'm familiar with this neighborhood. If that's what you are, I can't help it," he gave up.

After we left, we reached Lake Seelin in good order and entered the mountains the following day, October 4th.

Climb the rocks that were almost perpendicular to the cliffs. It almost felt like rock climbing along the way, but I was able to climb without any problems, including Sharon.

Sharon, inferior to muscle strength, was able to climb the cliff because he supported his own body with wind attribute magic. I was Professor Raspade and I called her a magic control genius. It's so unique that I thought maybe I could fly in the sky with the magic of a breeze.

If you ask jokingly about it,

"You can't just fly," he laughs.

"Except if you use something like the" hang glider ”that Master Zach taught you before," he said, "if you use tools, you're confident to fly through the sky.

Hang glider, but I wanted to fly, too, and I had considered it. I came to the conclusion that hang gliders are a relatively simple structure and that flying in the sky is not difficult in itself with magical aid. But now I'm giving up for a reason.

The reason for this is that there are winged lions (Griffons) and winged dragons (Wyburns) around here that could be attacked in the air. Not only that, but also herds such as Harpy and the Great Black Raven (Black Raven) decided that there was a great risk of crashing in hang gliders who were hard to say they could move freely.

I wish I could find a sturdier material other than cloth or have an idea to increase maneuverability, but so far I haven't found any countermeasures.

Investigation of the ruins, but the route from the rock found for the first time towards the back of the mountain was easily found.

Still, Mr. Kitley was cautious.

"According to the literature, the sunset was beautiful at the height of the Porta Mountains. The season is about right now, and I'd like to camp here and see where it is once."

I don't know how accurate it is in the literature, but they want to see where the sunset falls here and decide which way to go.

"Are you all right here," Beatrice said, expressing concern.

She's right, this place hits the ridge of the Aquila Mountains with concerns of being attacked by powerful demons. In fact, by the time we get to this location, we're still fighting the equivalent of a Class IV Skeleton Knight.

Skeleton Knight is a skeleton equipped with armor, shields and swords, moving faster than normal, and has swordsmanship skills.

Five skeleton nights attacked me.

It was not an easy battle, although it was only a struggle, because it was equipped with coordinated attacks and protective equipment reinforced by magic that I didn't think was undead.

"What if we created a simple base near here," Sharon has suggested.

"Right. If I make it with magic, I'll be surrounded."

"I asked you if I could. 'Cause just going back to a safe place from here would be a pretty good L.A."

As Sharon suggested, we decided to create a simple cave with earthly attribute magic on the slopes of the ridge, where it would serve as a simple base.

I was waiting for sunset as I prepared dinner. The gradually setting autumn sunset is beautiful, and the hills of the distant village of Lasmore are stained with oranges.

"Beautiful. I never thought I'd see a village from a place like this," Mel snapping beside me.

When I tried to answer that, I said, "I'm pretty sure in this direction!" Mr. Kitley's voice echoes. The sunset was already hanging on the top of the Porta Mountains, and as the information in the literature showed, the sun slowly set on the top of the highest peak could be confirmed.

However, there seems to be a good margin of error between the sun and the summit of the mountain.

We had to laugh bitterly at Mr. Kitley, who was so upset that he said, "Tomorrow I'm going up from here."

The next day, he climbed the mountain ahead of Dan.

There's nothing like a path anymore, complete mountain skin with no human footprints. Perhaps, but after years of exposure to windstorms, the terrain changed and the road became invisible.

I am inhibited by rock skin, which can be considered extinct several times, and me, Dan and Beatrice precede me in rock climbing procedures and step in by installing ropes.

What I was doing was more of an adventure in an undeveloped area than a site survey.

That day it proceeded at an altitude of about 300 meters, at a distance of about three or four kilometers, but the ruins, of course, did not find a clue.

The next day I will investigate the same. In the afternoon, I discovered a clue. It disappeared on the way up the mountain, the path used by the Imperial Army or the Demons.

"We're going to use this road as a base," Ms. Kitley said, forgetting her fatigue until then and straining.

Going down the road, a cave suddenly appeared in about thirty minutes.

The size of the entrance, but as wide as I spread my hands, even Beatrice, who is more than two meters tall, doesn't have to give in. It's not natural, it's clearly made of earthly attribute magic.

For a moment, I was glad it was a ruin, but Mr. Kitley, the researcher, was calm.

"It doesn't look like an ancient ruin. Maybe the Imperial Army or the Demons built it for evacuation."

When I looked closely, it felt very similar to the cave I had built.

"What are we going to do?," Liddy confirms to his old friend, Mr. Kitley.

"Let's investigate. Because maybe there's something ahead."

We're not all going in, me and Beatrice, Mr. Kitley are going into the cave. These three are so smart at night that they can act without the magic props of the light.

Liddy and the others are asking for alert at the entrance to the cave, as well as rescue when something happens.

Going in the back, I found out that I had obviously made it as a passage, not an emergency evacuation place.

"You don't know how long it's been going on in the back. At least I feel the wind flowing. Look, if we're going, why don't we all go?"

Mr. Kitley nodded "Yes," to Beatrice's words, and I agree.

After we return to the entrance, we all proceed through the cave. There are going to be small demons and undead, but no demons.

"There's no sign of it," said Dan, "you sure don't smell it," and Beatrice feels there's no danger either.

"Maybe it was because the entrance was narrow. Because if you're a small demon, you'll be attacked before you cave in."

There are no trees growing around here, making it a hunting ground for flying demons. We almost got attacked a few times, too, but we were magically getting rid of it.

As we proceeded carefully through the cave, we hit the end of the line.

The ground was torn apart and held back by cliffs like deep valleys. There are traces of caves about thirty meters away, but they were completely filled with dirt and sand, even if they could cross the rift. I don't feel like I can go any further.

Peeping into the rift, he said, "What do you want to do?," asked Mr. Kitley.

Mr. Kitley is peeking in beside me, too, and I get an unwilling reply saying, "Right."

When I tried to talk more, I heard Liddy say, "I wonder what that is." When I looked at her, she was pointing at the one under the rift.

"What's there," he said, pointing his gaze in that direction, but he can't see well in the dark.

"There's a room down there about twenty meters."

As my eyes got used to it, I could see the bottom of the rift, plus what looked like an artificially built basement beneath it.

"Is that the ruin? I feel like the floor is too clean if you just make it into a basement," Beatrice mutters.

She was right, although there was dirt and sand on the basement floor that fell from the rift, it reflected the light of the magic props of the lights and felt a glow like a black gemstone.

"I wonder if I could come down," Mr. Kitley confirmed.

"I have a rope, so no problem, but you should check first"

That's what I say. I make two rock columns to connect the rope to the cave floor. After securing the rope to each,

"Me and Liddy, we'll scout in Dan. I'll be ahead of you, so Dan can come down slowly on another rope. Liddy wants me to come down when I give him a signal after I get down. Beatrice and Mel will pull up the rope when I give the signal. Sharon asks for cave surveillance."

When they all nod at my instructions, they use the rope to get down there. Whether it was torn by an earthquake or something, the rock skin is coarse.

Turn off the magic props of the lights just in case, and stop once near the ceiling in the basement.

The basement is bigger than seen from the top, about ten meters square. The height to the ceiling is about three meters, inside it is complete darkness.

There are no signs of demons, and there are no traps. The floor was littered with desks and chairs crushed with rubble.

Tell them there is no danger in the hand sign and slowly go down to the basement. When I crossed the ceiling, I saw the material, but there were traces made of magic.

However, I feel like I made the cave I went through earlier in a hurry, but this one is polite and distinctly different.

Looking up, Dan and Liddy are also coming down, giving instructions to wait on the spot without going inside.

Going down to the basement, there is scattered debris and desks and chairs that came out when the ceiling collapsed, but the floor is made of black stone like black mighty stone, giving the impression of a classroom or conference room.

I put my feet on, but the trap never worked in particular, and I never felt uncomfortable with the air. He gives instructions to both of them to come down with a hand sign, turns on the magic props of the lights and probes around vigilantly.

There are three doors, two sliding doors, one with a door knob. The sliding door is attached to the left and right edges of one side, with a sliding glass window in between. I just don't know what's out there because it's dark across the window either.

The door with the door knob was on the right side of the face of the sliding door, the other side of which was as bright white as a screen reflecting the projector's footage.

"Is it a classroom?" and Liddy, who came down, asked.

"I don't know. You should have Mr. Kitley look at it, but before we do, we'll see if there's any danger in the room. I explore the front door and beyond the window. Dan asks for the right door. Liddy needs to be on guard here."

Copy that.

I made sure they got it, and I headed for the sliding door.

Apart from the desk crushed by rubble, there were several long desks lined up, but nothing on or under the desk.

There is nothing like a key to a sliding door, beyond the sliding glass is unclear, but it seems to be a hallway.

"It looks like this door isn't locked. What will you do?" Dan's voice echoes.

I decided to ask Mr. Kitley to come down and speak up.

"It feels like a classroom or a conference room, nothing in particular. I don't feel dangerous at the moment."

Beatrice also said, "What are we supposed to do?"

"Maybe we'll all move on, but now be on guard there!

"I get it!

Meanwhile, Mr. Kitley came down sultry.

"It feels like a meeting room. But this creation is common in ancient ruins," he said, exploring his surroundings with excitement.

"I'd like to go in the back, what's your opinion?," Mr. Kitley asked.

I don't feel dangerous, and I'm interested myself.

"It doesn't feel dangerous, and there doesn't seem to be any sign of demons. I'm in favor of moving on, but we should all go."

Mr. Kitley, after a few thoughts,

"Right. The ruins often have undead. I'd like to avoid a dispersion of power, if possible, but I'd prefer to make sure we get out of here."

That's where Liddy pinched his mouth.

"This is Aquila. You should think of demons as more powerful than any other land. Besides, I don't think caves are safe, and I think it's easier to deal with them together."

"Right," he replied to her, "I want to go with all of you," he told Ms. Kitley.

We decided on a policy, so we called Beatrice, Mel and Sharon waiting upstairs.
