Dream Life

Episode Twenty-five: Site Survey in the Aquila Mountains

September 21st.

Yesterday, Professor Kittry Erbain of the Tilia School of Magic, also a mentor, came to the village.

She visited this village to investigate the ruins. He also said he wanted to survey the Aquila Mountains when he graduated from college, but he looked at the old literature and said the survey area was limited.

"... we have the materials of the Imperial Army two thousand years ago. Just when I was fighting the Demons. I hear a unit chased the demons fleeing east. That's when I went into the mountains to cross the Aquila, and it said I saw something there that looked like a relic. I didn't have a specific place name, but judging by the terrain, it's just around here. Specifically, it will be around the east side of Lake Seelin..."

And he came here because the village of Rasmore is closest.

"You'll be familiar with the information around here, so I'd like to ask you to escort and guide the investigation. Especially if you're Zach, you can have my assistant."

I've done escorts before, and I heard the exact location, but it looks like it's about three kilometers northeast of Lake Seelin, and it doesn't make a huge entry into the Aquila Mountains.

I'm interested myself, and I took care of Mr. Kitley in college, so I decided to take it on.

Besides, I have something to talk to Mr. Kitley about, and sometimes it was just fine.

What I want to talk to you about is Luna.

Luna's magic training, but it's been over two years since we started. I tried everything, but no matter how it didn't get activated, we felt it was the limit alone.

He asked Kitley, a professor at the prestigious Tilia School of Magic and an authority in research on the Spirit, to look at Luna's situation.

Call Luna and have her try the release of magic.

Mr. Kitley looked me up in many ways to try her hand on Luna and cast a spell with me.

After about two hours of research, I concluded with a slightly harsh look with a crease between my eyebrows.

"I don't know what caused this, but the release of magic is being deliberately suppressed. It seems to be well shaped in your body, but it feels like you can't share it with the Spirit."

"Is that still the case...... is there any way to solve it?

"I'm sorry. I've never seen an example like this before. What I know is that magic cannot be used unless it removes the cause that is suppressing release. It's really weird how close you are to the Spirit."

This conclusion has already been a common recognition between me and Liddy and Sharon for over a year now. For this reason, he has stopped his magic training since last summer and has switched to martial arts training.

Initially, I tried to teach him swordsmanship that I was good at, but I also had my own hopes for doing bows in high school, making him practice bows.

But that bow isn't very aromatic either.

Hector is the best archer in the Lockhart family ministry, and he can be called superior. But the long bow he uses and the Japanese bow he uses in the Japanese bow seem completely different.

I only knew the shape of the bow differently because I was an amateur at all about the bow myself, but the experience when I was in Japan was useless due to the fact that the bow was different from the basics such as how to keep an arrow.

As a result, I was worried about remembering this bow technique or making a Japanese bow, but eventually I decided to make a Japanese bow in Luna's hope.

Its Japanese bow, but only Luna knows the structure. I know the shape somehow, too, but I've never taken it in my hand, and I can't even imagine the structure. I checked with Luna that it meant they were combining wood and bamboo, but that bamboo was not available and it took quite a while to reproduce.

This world's longbows process figs, tonerico, and so on, basically shooting arrows with the center of the bow.

The Japanese bow on the other hand combines bamboo and trees and shoots with an arrow in the lower third or so position.

Also, although the long bow has strong string tension and does not pull very large, the Japanese bow has the difference of pulling large and powerful for weak tension.

"... I felt weaker than a short bow (short bow) because what I was using was something about fifteen kilos strong"

Incidentally, it seems that bow strength is sometimes represented by the word "weight”.

Eventually, the material was magically modified with wood attributes, and it was decided to make a Japanese bow.

I thought magic would seem easy, but it was harder to balance than I thought. The center of gravity of the bow, or the most effective position when the string rebounds, seems difficult to use without successfully aligning the position where the arrow can be placed.

I don't use a bow myself, so I don't know what it feels like, and for ten days, after about a hundred trials and errors, I finally got something satisfactory.

"It would be awesome if a bowman could reproduce what he will remember over the years in just ten days. Even so, I was using fiberglass."

That's what Luna said and she was laughing.

I got a bow, but I don't have enough basic muscle strength. For this reason, he did not train hard all of a sudden, but combined muscle strengthening with training to shoot arrows.

As a result, he is now up to archer level twelve. However, due to the lack of mentors, I am concerned about the slow pace of leveling and the fact that it takes about three months to get to a level.

The most senior level of a fourteen-year-old girl.

level up slowly, but she herself seems to have more fun than magic training,

"I've never been so free to shoot an arrow"

"Really?

"Because the bow is important to do," he laughed, adding, "But I don't hate that Rin feeling," he said.

I teach you something like escort that you should have this other melee mindset. Even so, my martial arts skills are barely improved because I teach them to be amateurs.

I have also tried using a dagger, but I have narrowed it down to bowing and martial arts because I have an aversion to using a blade because I saw a tragic corpse in the village of Thysek, and because I have less freedom in the glove for Japanese bows, "skewers," and because I would rather squeeze the number than do a lot of things.

It's a Japanese bow, but I tried it once.

The reason is simple: the Japanese bow is a large bow that can be used for riding, as can be seen from the example of a fluttering horse. That's why I thought I might be able to introduce them to the village cavalry.

One of the reasons I thought that if I let Luna teach me the basics of this other thing, it would also help her improve her bowing.

I tried, but it still didn't work. I knew I wasn't talented, but I'd fly before, but I never hit it properly.

"Mr. Zach has too much clutter," Luna laughed.

However, I only tried the horse once on board the Love Horse Kokuyo to do the flushing horse. Of course, Sim Marron, who didn't hit it in purpose but was watching it, showed interest.

"That's an unusual way of attacking. But as far as the Centaurs and the nomads are concerned, I think it's an effective way to attack them."

It is indeed a tactic of war that makes it possible to attack without causing damage, in order to shoot an arrow from a horse that runs at all costs. It is possible that an opponent who has never seen it in particular can have significant effects combined with an ambush effect.

Another good thing is that it could be used in combat, even if it's not a military horse that I let train. There are more than twenty trained frog horses in the village of Rasmore, but there are also about thirty more ordinary horses. There have been quite a few more things that are good at equestrianism, so if used as a bow cavalry, it could be a great battle force.

Sims continued bow training every day after receiving basic instruction from Luna, which took him to a practical level in about six months. Originally, I guess he had a bow talent because he draws the blood of longbow genius Hector Marron.

Now the higher the level than Luna, who hits the master, the more Luna is discouraged by that fact. This will also vary in talent, but I believe the difference in training time is significant.

The Rockhart family's cavalry was set to standard the Wah bow due to Sim's prophecy.

Turning back, I have decided to leave tomorrow for Mr Kitley's request.

In the afternoon, plans will be made while checking the maps.

The weather was not too hot or too cold, so we planned to stay in the woods for five nights.

The members take Zachsextedt and Luna, plus Sophia. Three other servants will be accompanied.

This means that Luna and Sofia are also trained together. Rather, Luna was also allowed to participate in Sofia so that it was not noticeable.

Most of all, Sophia was happy to get into the deep end of the woods.

I have a single purpose, but I don't expect to find it in a single investigation, and I think I have to go to the investigation several times. For that reason, this time we will only investigate a relatively close part and look for clues. That's why I decided it was okay to have two people who were less combative.

Of course, we are both in the east woods and have no problems with basic behavior in the woods. Although there are endurance issues, it means training that includes them.

In Luna's case, there was an element of the enemies of the gods, some opinions about how to take them to dangerous places, but I'm pushing them off that I don't want to miss the opportunity to gain some experience even in the sense of getting back the lag I've had.

September 22nd.

Autumn clear blue skies have been spreading since morning.

In response to Luna and Sophia's participation, Mr. Kitley questioned us as "okay," but it seems that we decided that we had no problem because we were responsible and because we saw the Lockhart family training.

"And it's an amazing training," she can't seem to hide her surprise, but she laughed, "That's what I'll be sure to say to anyone who sees it the first time," Ms. Kitley was convinced.

The attendants accompanying him are Marc Norman, archer, Dick Cole, swordsman, and Les Lindsay. Under Hector's guidance, Mark has developed his skills as a scout and has recently commanded vigilante. He was promoted as a directing officer because he knows more about Lake Seelin than we do.

Dick is a tough swordsman just like Byron. I'm used to waving a large sword, but I didn't have the talent for scouts and needed to gain some experience. This time he is also to be instructed directly by Dan.

Les is the type of swordsman who uses one-handed swords and shields, close to Nicholas. He also respects Nicholas and works as a civilian. This time he accompanies us to carry out a survey of the terrain to plan for future reconnaissance, in order to enter deeper than usual.

About five kilometers to Lake Seelin. Since the lake itself is about three to four kilometers in diameter, the eastern side of the lake will be about ten kilometers away. We will continue along the Arn River, which flows north of the village, but expect substantial travel distances to be about fifteen kilometers due to deeper forests along the way.

If it's just us, we'll head further back after we get east of Lake Seelin, but with Mr. Kitley, Luna and Sofia, we were supposed to find a camp earlier today and explore Aquila's hemline after the next day based there.

I had anxiety. Luna's strength, but she was up more than I thought in her daily training.

"How's your tiredness?" Asked Luna, "I'm tired, but not as hard," so much so that I could afford to smile even though I walked through the hard-to-walk woods for more than half a day.

Exploring the woods from the next day, no ruins could be discovered.

It's just that it's training Luna and Sofia. We were both in the east woods, but we had never come this far deep, and at first we could not hide our confusion against the constantly attacking demons.

"There are so many demons," Sophia likes, Luna agrees, "it's all about strong demons too".

We are not the enemies of Zaksexted, even if we are strong, with the giant mukade of the fifth level, Giant Centipede, or the orc of the sixth level. However, he was clearly a formidable enemy to the two with lower levels, and I had never seen him this close.

When a Gray Wolf or other Seventh degree demon emerged, he was made to fight with our support to gain experience, but just as heavily loaded in Level Twelve Luna, he did little damage to his enemies. Even though Sophia, on the other hand, is still an eleven year old girl, she managed to fight one-on-one from being in general ranks with Swordsman Level 21.

Sophia, but he was leveling faster than Theo or Serra. I used to feel like a naive girl, but these days I encourage Stoke to train me from morning to evening. Seems to be in a hurry because there are no near-target Theo's and only far reaching goals like mine and my brother's.

It's good to work hard, but I'm neglecting my studies for that matter, and I make them study while I watch them not to escape.

Ruins of purpose, but not found in the ruins themselves. But on the twenty-fifth of September, the fourth day, I was able to find traces of what I believe the Imperial Army had gone through.

Only scaffolding that seems to have scraped the rock, even when it comes to traces. Very ancient, at least like a long time ago when the village of Rasmore could be, it was thought that the Demons, or the Imperial Army that followed them, made it with magic.

"It's hard if it's not us ahead," Beatrice said in such a harsh rocky place that Dan and I went up and confirmed, but in the circumstances where Luna and the others were, we decided we couldn't move on.

The next day, we pulled it up as planned and decided to go back to the village and rethink the plan.
