Dream Life

Episode 37: Finding a Destination

April 12th.

Liddy and I left the town of Cardobec and arrived in Periclitle, the city of adventurers.

The Inn is the “Nest of the Rough Eagle" pavilion that we have used before.

Sometimes it's easy to get information because there are many adventurers staying in this inn, but it's a big deal that my husband Yoan can be trusted.

Yoan and I met on our journey into college, but since then we have been using it every time we come to this city because of the store that wholesales Scotch, and we talk about booze and food.

My age in this world is apart, but it feels good and I have a friendship and I want to use it as a clue to find a party that Luna is going to let in.

However, we do not intend to target adventurer parties staying at this inn.

Adventurers who can stay here all the time are relatively high, because it's not like Grade Seven, who just graduated from the rush, stays there.

This time I'm going to get some information from Yoan about the adventurer staying at this inn and look for a candidate party.

When I entered the inn, "It's been a long time," Yoan greeted me. To be since I stayed six months ago when I was on my way to Cardobec.

"You're gonna be in trouble for a while."

"Is this just the two of us?," asked Mira, a damsel in apron.

"It's just the two of us, but I think we'll have more in a little while... I need to talk to you later than that"

When I cut it out like that, Joan and Mira looked at each other, but said, "Well, if you ask me, I'll ask you a few things. Hopefully after dinner," he laughs and understands.

After dinner, Joan and Mira, who finished cleaning up, were waiting in the dining room.

"What are you talking about? Is that alcohol tangling?

There's a bitter smile on that word, but I squeeze my expression right away.

"This time it has nothing to do with booze. I need to talk to you a little bit about my family..."

Tell me how you've been and what you came here for.

"That is. Your sister-in-law is looking for a party. Without naming it Lockhart, either."

"That's what I'm talking about. I'm looking for a party with a leader in grade 5 or so and a woman in the subject in grades 6 to 7"

"You're an archer, she is," Mira asked.

"Oh, the level is twenty-three. I've taught you how to behave in the woods, so you shouldn't be stuck."

"Right. We don't have a party, but I'll ask the other inns."

"I'll ask the guests here, too, but your sister would mean a noble lady. I hope it's not too much trouble."

I can understand Yoan's concerns. Here in Periclitle belongs to the Union of Urban States, but in the imprint of the Empire. It's not only the Adventurer Guild that you don't want to rub with the Imperial Nobility, but also those who live in the city.

"You don't have to worry about that. Because he won't give Lockhart's name either, and my father makes it clear he won't make it a problem if anything happens. Anything you want, you can send my father's signed papers to Alliance headquarters."

"Well, that won't be necessary, but I wonder what the leader of the accepting party would think"

After we talk like that, we go back to the room.

"What are we going to do from tomorrow?," Liddy asked.

"I can't leave it to you. We're gonna move, but we're gonna have to look for a bowman to teach Luna how to maintain her bow."

The primary purpose is to find a party for Luna to enter, but we also have to think about taking care of her bow. Her bow is specially made in this world, using wooden attribute magic modifications (modifications). That's why we need to explain how to hang magic.

"Right. You'll be fine because I have a handout."

"Really? I haven't heard of it."

"I don't know if I'm here yet, but I have an elf bowman I took care of when I used to be here. I make a lot of other things in the bow, but you could have used wood attribute magic."

"It was about forty years ago, wasn't it? Well, some people will have inherited the trail even if they're not there, so why don't you take that line?"

The next day we head to the southern tip of the South District, the Adventurer District, the district known as the Blacksmith District. There are many blacksmiths called to live here, but there are many shops dealing with weapons, tools, etc., and bowmen are often present here.

"Do you want to say hello to GeiselHale," he suggests to Liddy.

Geiselhale is a heavy town in the Periclitle branch of the Blacksmith Guild, and has been looked after before, and he led the adventurers to the rescue when the village of Rasmore was raided by the undead.

He also comes to the Dwarf Festival every time, so in this city he will be the next person to face merchant Henry Norton.

When you go to the workshop in Geiselhale,

"Well done for coming! Well, drink first!

Soon the jock that was ready will be given to me.

"I'm not here for a drink today......" but for once I decided to have a drink as a courtesy.

"Celebrate the reunion and toast!

"Cheers! Sieg Scotch!

Liddy has also been given a jock to put up the jock with a subtle face.

Finish your toast and tell Geiselhale you'll be in this city for a while.

"Right! That's good!," he rejoices, "may I leave the village?" and makes me look worried.

"The village has no problem. Well, I can't even attend the Dwarf Festival for a while, but it's been a year or two."

Neither last year's Victory Festival nor this year's Dwarf Festival have participated. I don't know what will happen next, but I'm going to support Luna from behind for a while even if she enters another party. Even so, we won't be able to do it for that long.

We talked about that, but we're not talking about Luna. Because if we talk here, we can see rumors spreading all at once among the dwarves of this city.

After a few beers, I followed the workshop in Geiselhale just because I was coming back. And then head to the archer's workshop that Liddy was saying.

It was inside the blacksmith district and arrived about five minutes from Geiselhale's.

"Right here. Looks like you're still working on it."

There was an old tree sign, where it said “Eug Gallange's workshop”.

Once inside, a unique smell mixed with wood and glue irritates the nose. Tensions of bows were arranged, as were capes and gloves of leather.

An elf man with a big apron appears when he says, "Are you a customer?" As usual, his age is unknown, he is slender and tall, and he is the second one characterised by white skin, green blonde hair and jade eyes.

"I say Zacharias. Actually, I wanted to ask you a favor..."

That's what I said. Show Liddy the Japanese bow he was holding.

"I wanted to ask you to take care of this kind of bow."

When Yug takes the bow in his hand, he begins to look at it with a shiver.

"That's a rare form. You're magically crafty... I can't take care of this."

That's what I say and flatter my shoulders.

"Actually, it's something I made. So I can explain how to take care of it."

"You can't see the story. Then why don't you take care of it?"

"Excuse me. I'll talk to you from the beginning. This bow is not for me or her here, it is for another. I wish I was in this city all the time, but I won't always leave. So I asked him if he was a good bowman..."

Explaining the circumstances, he said, "I see," but the interest was geared towards the bow.

"Is it okay if you're telling me how to make this? Mr. Lockhart?

You seem to have noticed me.

"How did you get your name?," he said.

"If you look at a bow with the name Zacharias and the magic of so much polite modification (modification), you will soon see that it is Zacharias Lockhart, Mr. Raspade's beloved apprentice."

"Did you know Dr. Raspade?"

"Oh, because I was a desk-lined alumni with him. It was a long time ago, but I hear a lot about celebrities like him."

Dr. Raspade's alumni mean he's over 150 years old.

"I was a teacher's friend," Liddy whispers surprised.

Youg didn't notice the words.

"I can take care of it, but can you show me how you make it first? It's been a long time since I've been exposed to new technology, and I can't keep my excitement down."

I remember Dr. Raspade in those words, with zero grin, but he was seen with sparkling eyes, and immediately began to explain.

"The material in this bow is a strawberry tree. Hang a modified magic on this part to increase elasticity, which in turn increases rigidity. Changing it continuously is the hardest part of this technology…"

After a brief explanation, I'll actually try it in the workshop. The magic itself is not that difficult, nor does it use magic, but it is difficult to change the image continuously, and it takes about an hour to teach.

"... I see... the image here is of a willow, and here is an oak... at the end of the day it feels like getting the whole thing in order... this is hard..."

That being said, I can learn the trick in about two hours. Exactly. I've just been an artisan for over a hundred years.

"Really interesting! With this it is possible to increase the power of other long bows! But could you have told me? Normally, it's a secret technology.

"I didn't mean to hide it originally, and this time it's fine because it's also for my edgers"

"If you're not going to hide it... do you mean technology to this extent is no big deal? I see..."

"I have a favor to ask you, I'm talking about my edger earlier, and I hope you don't say that around as much as you can. It would be helpful if you didn't ask, including the circumstances."

"There seems to be something going on, but they taught me all this technology for free. Let's remember that."

He's Dr. Raspade's alumni, but he's not as insane as his teacher. When you say that,

"It's an honor to be with him, but it's also out of heart. I'm not as talented as he is, but I'm not that insane."

After all, it seems like a long time ago that the teacher was insane.

We'll also clean up the maintenance on Luna's bow and head back to the inn.

I talk to Yoan, but in exactly half a day I couldn't find any information about the party I would be a candidate for.

We started collecting information the next day. I'll go to the guild's training ground and watch the young adventurers, but they can't even get my name out, so I can't even gather information.

Three days later, on April 15th, about Periclitle, Yoan found me good information.

"They're staying at a nearby inn, but the archer recently retired, he said. So I was talking about looking for a good archer."

"What kind of configuration is that?

"The leader is a healer and a fifth degree. There is one swordsman and scoundrel level six and one Halvard user level eight. I hear the leader is a young woman, the swordsman is an animal man, and the Harvard user is a young creation who became one about a year ago, but a solid party with very few failed requests."

Ideal configuration than I thought.

I like the fact that the leader is a woman and a healer. Besides, the fact that beasts with better vision and smell than humans are added as a scourge is also a reassuring material in terms of safety.

If you have anxiety, you will have fewer newcomers and fewer people in the eighth grade than you would normally have at a party recently.

Concerns about newcomers, but Halvard is a harder weapon to handle than I thought.

The flashy appearance and high attack power are appealing, but without formal training you can't do decent damage with semi-productive training. It was difficult to be a force of war without talent even if you were formally trained, let alone possibly useless in our stream no matter how much you trained.

In fact, the Lockhart family doesn't employ Halvard. This is due to the large aspect of commonality of equipment, but it takes longer to become more skilled and more difficult to combat.

Another small number of people, but it's not just a question of adding more people. Because we need to think about a well-balanced placement of our forces. This party would be exceptionally well balanced if it had a defensive, so-called “shield (tank)" role, but a higher defense means that the equipment costs money, which is less for a party made up of relatively young people.

"I need to talk to you, see if you're okay"

"I think that's probably okay. Can we just talk about this from me?

"Right. It would be helpful if you just kept the head of the story open. If possible, it feels like we need to talk only to the leader."

"Okay, man."

The next day, I heard about that party working out at the guild's training ground, and instead went exploring it.

I spoke to an adventurer who was nearby and got a lot of information.

The leader's name is Hazel. A woman with a bright feeling in her mid-twenties. His ability as a healer he showed during the training was not poor, and he was accurate in giving instructions.

The swordsman is called a fan, he was a small cat beast man in his early twenties. A sharp move like a cat beast man, but not so much a sword arm. The level would be in the first half of twenty units.

The Harvard user is called Ryan, a mid teenage boy who still remains unobtrusive. The physique is splendid and has a long and thick chest plate of about one hundred and ninety centimeters. Harvard's arm is amateur, as per prior information, and I've never dealt with being our type.

"You shouldn't be in the back of the woods very much," Liddy whispered.

Totally agree. These three would have the best requests for about grade eight, specifically the crusade of small flocks of goblins and forest wolves.

"I hear you had a high level of retired archers. Reduce or hurt enemies from a distance, and two stab stops as they approach. I guess that's how it was."

By the way, the archer did not retire for physical reasons such as injury. They decided to get married and use it as an opportunity to retire the adventurer and hunt in a small village.

"So, what do you do? I've heard." All I want to ask is whether to entrust Luna or not.

"You won't feel inferior because you're not so different from Luna powerfully. The only thing I'm worried about is when the enemies of the gods come after me."

"But if I mention that, aren't we going to have to be in the village? Vlad Varonos, if the enemy of the class were to come, I don't think the third level could protect us."

"Right."

Liddy's the best thing to do. If you think about protecting against the enemies of the gods, it's hard to protect them unless they're about fortified museum hills.

"The purpose of this one is to encourage Luna to grow. If so, this party is pretty good. The rest is what Luna thinks."

The next day, Luna and the others came to Periclitle.
