Dream Life

Episode 43: The Retreat Battle in the Mountains

evening of September 3rd.

He entered the Aquila Mountains for investigation, but continued to be constantly attacked by powerful demons. In it we have seen two extra first-degree equivalent demons in our hands, and we have fought many times with second-degree equivalent demons.

Usually I avoid it without fighting demons, but they keep taking the lead because Dan, the scout, isn't around. Once I suggested to get ahead of me, everyone opposed and declined that the spread of power was not a good idea.

He was also unusually murderous to demons who would usually escape if he did some damage, forcing him to fight until he defeated him. For this reason, you can't even rest.

I decided it was dangerous to be here any longer, and declined to investigate.

I managed to get back to where I camped the day before, but I was more exhausted than I was yesterday. Especially me and Liddy and Sharon, who almost ran out of magic, and standing is also a hard situation.

Beatrice and Mel are relatively fine, but still keep walking through the rugged mountains and not without fatigue due to their proximity to even bigger demons.

Serve a meal you can from the inventory. I've brought every pot of simmering I've had made in the inn, and it's a thousandth of the time, so it's still warm enough.

Eat a warm meal, put out a fold-out simple sleeping area and lie down. I just can't get my gear off, but this alone bites cold portable food and recovers much faster than falling asleep on hard ground.

Sharon was more tired than he thought, so the four of us alternate and do the sleeping number. Still, I can get enough sleep.

Fortunately, during the camp, he was not attacked by demons and arrived safely in the morning. Thanks to this, my health had completely recovered in the morning.

only one exempt from the sleeping number. Sharon was firmly frightened,

"It's tough today, too. If we don't get a full recovery here, it's about the safety of all of us. So rest without worrying."

I was honestly nodding.

September 4.

After breakfast, we leave for a simplified base.

After I left, the demons attacked me again, but there was more to it than that.

The party that follows us is leaving a day late, and if it's at the same pace, we should be nearby, but there's no sign of it.

It was about eight kilometers from the simplified base to this place, and the meeting was supposed to take the same route to this area.

It's a party of second-degree adventurers, and they'll struggle with the demons that attacked us, but it's hard to think of wiping it all out. Thinking about it, it's possible that we're moving forward cautiously, but if we don't, it won't tell us we pulled out, and they could be wiped out.

I marked a few places there and wrote down on the ground that we had withdrawn. If the Great Demon sees it, it could be abused, but I've never seen it before, so I prioritized communicating the fact that I withdrew over that risk.

I walked for about three hours and as I tried to take a break, Liddy pointed forward.

"There are two Feilongs (Wyburn) a little further. Looks like he's attacking something."

Looking into her eyes at the one she pointed to, she found Wyburn plummeting about five hundred meters away.

"Maybe a subsequent party is being attacked. Guys, can we go?"

We have also fought five times in this short time against demons equivalent to classes 4 to 5, and we are getting tired. There is also the possibility of a subsequent party, but we cannot deny the possibility that we are simply fighting another demon. It was impossible to move on in this situation, it was a battle between demons. So I can't even see it.

Everyone nods at Sharon's voice, "I can go."

We went straight down the ridge on our fast feet.

It's a rocky place that's hard to walk on, so I feel a distance of five hundred meters. Hanging enough to go down about three hundred meters, a group of six adventurers had been attacked by Wyburn.

Two people have already fallen, swordsmen and magicians have taken control, and magicians have unleashed magic. The other looked like a healer, providing relief for the fallen.

"Let's hurry. But be careful."

I lead the way, followed by Mel, Liddy, Sharon and Beatrice.

He proceeded with caution to other demons and was noticed by Wyburn a hundred meters away.

The voice of Beatrice's warning, "I'm coming over here," echoes.

One Wyburn came toward us like he said to stay out of the way.

"Sharon attacks with a powerful arrow (Gael Arrow). Liddy, use your bow."

Beatrice and Mel step forward to protect Liddy and Sharon without having to say anything.

Wyburn is a winged dragon 10 meters long and 10 meters long. Braces like dragons are dangerous monsters that don't throw up, but cleave metal armor like paper with sharp fangs and nails.

It strikes the sun on my back.

A huge black shadow surrounds us, slightly frightened by its immensity.

When I aroused my courage, I hung a demonic martial arts all over my body. Let Ulrich's magic sword wrap orange light around him and intercept him with a front-eye stand.

Sharon's Gael Arrow hits Wyburn directly in the face. Though bounced by a sturdy scale, Wyburn is surprised that he has been attacked and turns his wings off the attack.

Liddy shoots an arrow at the rising Wyburn, but no damage is done with the launch arrow.

Wyburn rises about a hundred meters and peeks this way.

Once the magic and magic swords are unlocked, he turns to Liddy and Sharon and says, "Go with the air hammer!" and skip the instructions.

I don't wait for the two of you to reply, I cast a spell.

"It is the god of the wind (Wentus) who brings many winds. Stiffen the wind and give it a great hammer. I give my life to you..."

In the meantime, Wyburn descends toward us again.

The distance from Wyburn frees the magic in thirty meters.

"... smash my enemies! Air Hammer!"

Liddy's magic was also activated to fit me, and a huge chunk of air hit Wyburn directly.

Having eaten three air hammers at the same time, Wyburn falls far out of balance and crashes before us.

Soon Beatrice and Mel rush over, adding an attack with a spear and sword that wraps the magic around them.

I joined the attack with my sword.

Fallen on the ground, Wyburn can't move well due to the impact of the crash, roaring as if he were abominable to Beatrice and Mel's onslaught. But the movement on the ground was dull, and with my addition, it became a bloodstain to see.

"Here comes another one! Be careful!

I heard Liddy's warning, and glancing forward, the other one with an angry look was plummeting down.

"I'll take care of this one," he said to Mel, hanging his demonic martial arts all over his body.

You're forgetting me in anger, and Wyburn, who's descending, sticks his nails at me, without slowing down.

Strong wind pressure hits me and my helmet feels like it's coming up, but ignoring that, I jumped up. It's about five meters high. It's just the shape that comes to the front of Wyburn.

You didn't anticipate this behavior, Wyburn came into it in the same position as it was. But he's opening his mouth wide like he's trying to chew me up.

I use the magic of the breeze without chanting to change track and avoid Wyburn's neck slamming in suddenly.

Not only that, but I definitely slap the orange magic sword into its neck.

A sword is sucked into a thick neck over fifty centimetres in diameter covered in thick scales. And cut it off to the middle of it, and Wyburn clashed to the ground without rising.

Beatrice heads to that Wyburn and pokes a spear around his heart that wraps magic around him. After several cramps, Wyburn was desperate.

In the meantime, Mel's was also settled. The bloody Wyburn was lying still.

"You're all fine!" When I hear it, I get the answer that it's not a problem.

"Beatrice and Mel ask to recover the Demonic Crystal Stone. Liddy's heading to that party with me. Sharon asks for perimeter alert."

That's all I said, I ran out toward the adventurers who were being attacked as they were. Because I was concerned about the condition of a falling adventurer.

Going down, it turns out to be the Gladys, as expected.

"Are you okay!," Gladys said, "It helped," but quickly gave me a sad look.

"Peter and Ronnie got hit. I'm still breathing, but I can't apply my hands."

Seeing the two lying around was a terrible situation indeed.

The swordsman is cleaved with nails of every leather armor and is blood-coated. Apparently the healer tried to stop the bleeding, but he couldn't even seem to stop it.

The other is an archer and his right arm is about to cut by half a thousand and his left leg is bent in a weird direction. This one is only able to stop the bleeding, but I guess you decided that you can't take him back in this situation.

I immediately go beside the swordsman and hang my healing magic. Imagine wound sutures and muscle regeneration, as well as reconnecting blood vessels and nerves.

In about a minute the wound connected nicely and the rough breath calmed down a little.

Gladys tried to say something, but without worrying about it, he turns to the archer. Liddy had already seen it and had finished treating her right arm.

"I've managed my right arm wound. Maybe the blood vessels and nerves are connected well too. But I can't do my left leg. Something totally wrong with your knee joint."

I do have my knee bent in a strange direction.

"It hurts, but be patient. Mr. Gladys, hold this man down so he doesn't break out."

When I say that to the archer and Gladys, I immediately hang on to my knee treatment.

First push the bent knee back into force. At that moment, the archer wants to scream loudly, but ignores it and hangs a healing magic.

The image is about restoring the bones of the crushed knee to their original shape, but I'm not so familiar with it, so I'm just asking the tree spirits to put it back around here.

My knee, which was congested and swollen in about thirty seconds, returned to its original shape.

"You're cured...... no, thank you. I've known this guy for fifteen years..."

Gladys, the leader, took my hand and conveyed his gratitude. There are tears in its eyes.

Finished the treatment, but the archer looked up at me properly, as he said he couldn't believe it.

"Probably fine, but if you have difficulty walking or something, say it"

When I say that, I get up in a hurry.

"I can walk... it was so bad..." he muttered.

"Thanks! I thought I had to die here. Thank you so much......"

A man in his mid-thirties, but I've been crying and thanking him for being so impressed.

Surely in that situation, there would have been nothing but euthanasia. Besides, I couldn't walk properly my whole life, even if I went back to town at the risk of the party being wiped out. I don't know if that's what you think, but...

"You should withdraw from here immediately. Because it was more dangerous up ahead."

Gladys, the leader, can't hide his surprise in my words.

"Even you decided it was dangerous..."

"Yeah, I even watch dragons and the first giant (cyclops). You should retreat to the base I built immediately. Instead, we're going to withdraw regardless of you."

"Of course we pull it up," he nodded instantly at my chopped way of saying.

The swordsman, who was badly injured, is called Ronnie, and he walks with the shoulder of a Gladys party member. Exactly because there was too much bleeding and there was no complete recovery.

Another injured archer is called Peter, he walks on his own. Because it is also a scourge, he checks safety ahead of time.

I said I shouldn't force you.

"I died once anyway. And the bow is broken, so that's all I can do."

That's what I've said with a smile.

He was then attacked only once by a level 3 equivalent death knight (Death Knight).

Death Knight is a large man-made undead monster over two metres tall, equipped with metal armor and shields on a giant sword. It's a nasty demon that movement is the only thing that works with a magic or magic metal weapon because it has a high defense for dull things and is undead.

Beatrice and Mel are wrapping magic around their weapons and lightly knocking them down. Gladys, who saw how it was, was shaking his head "I can't believe these guys are in third grade".

We made it to the simple base safely, but there was a run-down secondary adventurer party there, just like the Gladys. They are sinking uniformly, without having to count the number of people, and we can see that the party members are missing.

"Are you guys okay?" someone talked to me. He was the leader of a veteran party that came with me from Periclitle.

"Yeah, they managed to escape."

"Enough for the Lockhart guys to retreat. We're going back to Riccardale tomorrow."

With that said, other adventurers agree.

"I have the same idea. You should come back with me tomorrow. If there's an injured person before that, please let me know."

Then about half raise their hands.

I could see that it was a fierce battle, such as those with major lacerations or broken arms.

"And you guys are amazing. Is no one hurt?"

"I was lucky," replies Gladys, "what's the guy who instantly killed Wyburn talking about?"

"By the way, how much did you take down," he asked.

"You were able to recover the Demonic Crystal Stone with the equivalent of eight for the second level, twelve for the third level, and about twenty for the fourth level and a little for the fifth level. Some of them couldn't be recovered, so it's a little more, but I've hardly seen anything below grade six."

Besides the admirable voice of "That's just great," there was a mix of voices that shouted, "Is that all you knocked down and intact?"
