Dream Life

Lesson 47: Descent

Time goes back about six months.

Tria history circa the beginning of June 3024.

A man stood on a cliff in the mountains east of Periclitle City. The man was slender and tall, and wore a black robe, and his skin was black as sandalwood. And on its back were glossy pitch-black wings.

His name is Saul Inkvar. He is a magician of the Black Demon clan belonging to the Winged Demon clan and Demon clan.

Behind him were three demons taller than two heads, about two and a half meters tall (melt). They have giant bat-like wings on their red-colored skin, eyes black and big fangs, standing as if to protect Saul.

(You weren't as good as the Moon Demons or your mouth. The Temple elders said it was too dangerous to summon more than demons, but even great demons (Greater Demons) are dear...)

His spirit was exalted.

Even the Moon Demons, who are good at summoning magic, have only succeeded in summoning Winged Demons (Lesser Demons). But I have summoned an even more powerful Great Demon and have also succeeded in serving.

Demons are demons of different worlds that have been seen for about a thousand years, including Demon Generals (Arc Demons), Great Demons (Greater Demons), Demons (Demons), Winged Demons (Lesser Demons), and Little Demons (Imps).

Due to their skill in magic and their manoeuvrability to have wings, Moon Demons and Wing Demons were serving Wing Demons and Little Demons as family members.

The secret of summoning was also handed down to the Black Demons, but there was no need to summon more powerful demons than demons to the extent that they summoned wing demons for reconnaissance because of their own higher physical abilities than the Moon Demons and Wing Demons.

Also, the Black Demons had lost much of their tribe during the great invasion of the West about a thousand years ago, and there were only enough sorcerers to count that they could perform the ritual of summons.

Saul was in that Black Demon clan and succeeded in summoning the Great Demon with greater power.

Including that, he was intoxicated by a growing sense of omnipotence within himself.

That was years ago.

Strength gushed without any foretaste, and I thought I could overcome any difficulty. In fact, it accomplishes things that people do not think are possible, such as crossing the harsh Aquila Mountains alone, full of powerful demons. That gave him more confidence.

And he's trying to challenge what's said to be even more impossible.

(The plan is going well. Finally, we have the minimum number we need. After that, summon the Demon General (Ark Demon) and you will be ready...)

Saul flies off a cliff and leaps out into the sky. Three great demons also flew out into the sky to follow it, and four shadows appeared on a brown cliff.

Saul and the others stepped down to a certain place. It was near the waterfalls that the gorges make, and countless demons were roped up. Although the demon resembled the Great Demon, it was only a demon (daemon) one small turn in size.

The demons sat adultly, without disobedience. Its eyes look vain and enchanted with some magic.

At its center, it depicted a magical formation of intricate tattoos about three melts in diameter.

"You've got all the demons," he says, "but the Great Demons don't respond in particular, and he walks straight ahead, either, expecting no answers.

"Then create a Summoning Formation with Demons and Demonic Crystals"

The Great Demons began to move without snorting at the order.

The demons will then be positioned to shape the octagon around the magic formation. The number of its octagons is eight. In other words, there will have been sixty or four demons.

The demon is hung with a necklace containing about four to five cm (semel) in diameter. The Demonic Crystal Stone hung by the demon as it headed to the center grew larger and was about twice as large in the center.

If the adventurers had seen that magic crystal stone, they would have realized it was a superior demon equivalent to the second to fourth levels.

Every demon was fitted with a demonic crystal stone necklace.

The sun had already fallen, but the sky is brilliant with moons and stars, reflecting on the waterfall waters and creating fantastic landscapes. But no one loved the landscape.

"Then we begin the summons," Saul declares, chanting the spell. Unlike normal magic, the spell contained the name of all eight attributes of God.

The Great Demons refrain behind Saul and send their magic. But there was a rebellious, and abusive, light in its eyes that had never existed before.

Saul's face was full of pain with an hour-long chant. There is sweat like balls on my forehead.

Gradually the light begins to leak from the magic formation. The light perished irregularly and also looked like some kind of creature.

More magic is infused from Saul into the Magic Formation. The brightness becomes stronger with it.

And it happened suddenly.

The bright lights turned into columns of light stretching toward the sky.

Its pillars of light were equal to the diameter of the magic formation and stretched so high that it might reach the stars of the night sky.

In about ten seconds the pillars of light abruptly disappeared. As if the sight had been a fantasy until then.

Saul's squeamish voice, "You seem to have succeeded," echoes the gorge, which only makes the sound of water flow.

At the end of his gaze was a demon with the same bat wings as the Great Demon, the figure of the Demon General. Its body was smaller than a gray demon, about one and eight melts tall, and unlike a muscular warrior-like body demon, it was in a slender shape. Though the face is slightly visible and the canine teeth are so common even when it comes to beautiful young humans.

But its presence is overwhelming. The Great Demon and other incomparable intimidation seeped out.

The Demon General's eyes open slowly. And when he admitted the appearance of Saul, the summoner, he grinned niggardly. The laugh is only at the mouth, and the eyes are of a contemptuous colour.

Though overwhelmed by his presence, Saul seeks subordination from the Demon General.

"I summoned that, Saul Inkvar. Obey me."

The Demon General says nothing and further distorts his mouth and mocks him.

Saul was surprised by the Demon General, who honestly did not obey, and gave him an angry look.

"Why! I'm the one who summoned you! Because you obeyed me, you would have answered my summons!

The Demon General didn't even answer just with a cold smile on his face.

Saul exploded his anger even more,

"I demand the fulfillment of my contract! If he fails to obey, he shall extinguish his existence in accordance with the contract. That's all right!

So for the first time, the Demon General opened his mouth.

"Kukukuku... grin... extinguish me with such a degree of power? It's been a long time since I've shown up, but I didn't expect you to laugh all of a sudden. Kukukuku......"

Saul heard the words and immediately attempted to abort (cancel) the summoning magic.

"Gods. Disobey the logic of the world and send him to the other side of nothingness!

The magic formations glow once in the words, but disappeared quickly. And the Demon General existed with a cold smile.

"Why......" I extinguish, but cast a spell again.

But the magic formations did not glow, nor did the demon generals disappear.

Saul gives up that he cannot obey the Demon General and orders the Great Demon to attack.

"Finish this one! You shouldn't be able to move properly yet!

The Great Demon does not respond to that order.

Saul repeats the same order again, but the result was the same.

"It's no use. My family cannot harm my Lord," the Demon General grins.

Saul pulled out his sword because he didn't think it was obvious. I was better at magic than swordsmanship, but I was using my magic with summoning magic, and I had to pull out my sword. But it's not like I can't use my sword.

The Black Demons are a brilliant species rich in magical talent, but also physically tough. He himself is extremely skilled at swordsmanship.

And in his hand was a long sword of misrills shining in silver.

"Even though they are demon generals, death is inevitable if pierced with this sword. I'll still forgive you now. Swear to obey me."

Saul obstinately tries to make him speak the language of subordination because the summoned demon is bound by a covenant. Once the subordination is sworn in, the summoner will have to be obeyed unless both sides agree to lift it. Because I believed that even in a situation where the Great Demon who had obeyed before rebelled and the Demon General did not respond to his covenant, he could reverse it if he made me say the word subordinate.

Just saying "stop laughing," the Demon General was staring at Saul with a cold smile on his face.

Saul hung up on that arrogant attitude.

"I am the man who will be king of the world! I'm not going to back off ridiculed by a demon like you!

Screaming like that will wrap a flame around Mithril's long sword and flash.

The sword is sucked into the Demon General's neck precisely.

Saul is convinced that he succeeded in jumping the Demon General's neck. But the magic sword was easily stopped by the right hand of the Demon General.

"What!" Saul raised his surprise and stopped moving on the spot.

The same goes for grabbing a high-fever sword with my bare hands, but I can't hide my surprise that I was able to react to my slaughter more than that.

He was a swordsman over level eighty and, coupled with his tough flesh, had enough arms to cross with what he called the strongest without magic. And that was also his source of confidence. As a result, he was so easily prevented from attacking that he fell into a state of relaxation.

"What are you freaking out about? You thought you could beat me to be the god of this world?

"Be God..." he roars but tries to draw his sword, but doesn't even move with Pickle as if he were fixed with all his might.

"Now, let me get you out of this cramped place," he said, slowly coming out of the magic formation with the blazing sword grabbed.

"Why can we leave!

Saul screams. His common sense requires the agreement of the summoner to get out of the summoning magic formation, because its summoner, Saul, does not acknowledge it.

"Don't make me say it again and again. Don't think you can tie me up with your strength."

"Damn!," he threw away, and Saul let go of his sword. And he spread his wings and tried to get out of the spot.

But the trinity of great demons hold it back. The Great Demon attached to Saul and forced him to crawl to the ground and squat.

The demon general who came out of the magic formation said, "It's an important stopover. Be polite," he said to the Great Devil,

"Well, for once, let me thank you. You invited me into this world."

"What are you going to do!

"I don't need you to know, but I'll tell you once you're involved."

"Officials!

"You are our God's stopover. It will be a vessel to summon God who will unite our world."

"God's stopover... not the stopover of evil gods!

"You have no choice. Fair enough. With the power of our God, we will drive out the gods of this world. And be my God. I'll give you the honor of taking one end of it. Thank you. Kukukuku......"

So I put my hand on Saul's neck. Saul lost consciousness after cramping with Bikun once.

"We can't let them know about our plans yet. If you don't end this scene, gather the demons..."

The Great Demons said, "I accept. My you," he admits on one knee.

All demons placed in octagons when summoning the Demon General were out of breath. Furthermore, the Demonic Crystal stone necklace has completely disappeared, leaving no trace even of it.

After giving instructions to the Great Demons to gather demons, they themselves wiped out the magic formations. He dug a hole in the place where there were more magic formations, and ordered them to "throw it in here".

The Great Demons throw the demon's body into the hole one after the other. After all demons have been put into the hole, the Demon General uses the magic of the volcano (Volcano) and burns it.

After about thirty minutes of baking, he commanded the great demons to cover themselves with rocks.

"Even you guys can do enough to move a rock. Keep the lid there."

The Great Demons use magic and carry huge rocks. The magic was the magic of the gravitational system that I don't see much in this world.

"You somehow figured out the magic system of this world, too. Now, let's get out of here."

When I said that, I went up to the beautiful night sky. Behind it follows the Great Demon with the Saul.

An hour later, we reached an ancient site in the mountains of the Aquila Mountains.

"You're as it was in God's revelation. There are many negative forces swirling around this scene. Add more raw power to this power..."

Its ancient ruins were close to those investigated by Zacharias with Professor Kittry Erbain. The survival of ancient civilization had been sealed by the gods, and it had become resentful.

"Gather the powerful alive. Sacrifice them and make them accumulate the power to offer to our God."

The Great Demons fly around Rickadale and Periclitle, abducting an unlucky adventurer party.

And the abducted adventurers were given to resentments nesting in ancient ruins, and resentment gradually gained strength.

The power affected the demons in Aquila.

Demons like powerful dragons and giants perceive and kill themselves threatening beings, and weaker demons follow their survival instincts, abandoning their territory to distance themselves and descending to the foot. The demons take their territory, and the demons go further down the mountain. That chain causes unusual activation of demons.

In September, a massive crusade and investigation of the Adventurer Alliance led to the Demon General changing his policy.

"Abominable, but it doesn't taste good to be able to find this place now. Be careful not to be distracted."

Before that policy shift, the presence of the Great Demon had been discovered, but there was no way of noticing the Demon General.

The Great Demons gave up their actions around Rickadale and Periclitle and switched to their actions around the kingdom of Lax in the north.

He also confined himself to one party and made it look like a mere wreck to abduct large crusaders in one place so they wouldn't be organized like this one. That did not make it a major problem in the Kingdom of Lax, but it took three months to secure and transport those who needed it.

But there was no rush for the Demon General. If they don't have a lifespan and need to multiply the time, it's to be able to wait even on a hundred-year basis.

"It took a while, but it looks like you're ready."

At the end of December, the Demon General performed a ritual summoning their God.

Ten melts in diameter sits a vain expressive saul in the center of a certain giant magic formation.

"Now the feast begins!

The Demon General opened the door to the ancient ruins.

Resentment accumulated in the accumulation becomes immense magic and pours into the magic formation. The magic formations went all over the black fog.

The power poured into it rocked the earth. The Aquila Mountains are affected by this, with cliffs crashing in many places.

In about an hour, the magic supply was interrupted. And the mist hanging on the magic formation slowly disappeared.

Saul sits with a vain look on his face. Unlike before, however, it was releasing enormous amounts of power from the body.

"My you," he says, but those who were Saul do not respond.

When I call again, I slowly turn my gaze to the Demon General.

"God. Give me strength."

Whoever was Saul to the word slowly approaches.

The Demon General waited for it on one knee, trembling with joy. But the demon general's expression gradually starts to tense.

"You... no, who are you! Not our God! Are you…"

"I am the god of nothingness," he replied with his vain eyes, getting closer.

"He said it was Vanitas! You wanted to!

"Did you want to? I only wished to manifest myself."

The Demon General was annoyed by Vanitas' words, which had lost any emotions, but felt the danger of being here and tried to escape.

However, although it spread its wings, it was unable to generate lifting forces and could only lag behind from the spot.

The great demon behind him had also opened his eyes to fear, trembling stiffly.

"Be my family. Let's give it a name..."

"Wait! Stop!

The Demon General feared being taken in by being given a name by God. But Vanitas gives it a name, without worrying about it.

"His name was Ashtal. Demon General Ashtal. Chaos and nothingness. Be its embodiment."

With that word the Demon General lost his expression.

Then, on one knee, he bowed his head, saying, "Give your orders to the chief Ashtal".

Vanitas was setting a double trap.

The first is to empower Saul, and cause him to summon a Demon (Ark Demon). And directed the Demon General to summon their God with the sweet word of giving this (Trinitus) world.

However, it is forbidden to let this world summon another world god, and work meticulously to bring to itself the power used to summon it.

As a result, Vanitas was able to descend into the world.

But it's not like there was no price.

Such a forceful method would upset the balance of power with the heavenly gods (frogs) and the eleven pillars of gods, and would also allow the other party to exercise its power.

Vanitas went into battle at that price (penalty). That was based on reasonable judgment, but would have a significant impact on the subsequent battle......
