Dream Life

Episode 46: The Shadow of the Ghost Nation

December 5.

Three months have passed since Aquila's mountain survey.

In the meantime, he has been in the mountains several times following a crusade request from Rickadale, but in October the fierce attacks of demons like that will disappear, as will the frequent non-return of adventurers.

I've been in the depths of Aquila many times since October, but I haven't seen the Great Demon (Greater Demon), not to mention the missing person.

And in November, the demons themselves diminished to the extreme, and the more clapping the mountains of Aquila became quieter.

The Adventurer Guild also seems to be concerned about the missing Adventurer, but the only way to do so is to issue a declaration of termination, with the announcement that it was officially terminated in mid-November.

In December, temperatures are dropping all at once in Rickadale, where the altitude is high.

I'm starting to wonder if I could go back to my hometown of Rasmore once, as it means I'll be in the woods with cold protection, but it's time for snow to accumulate.

Still, we stayed in Riccadale. Because the problem of the Great Demon has not been solved, but it remains possible that it is a being that does harm to the enemies of the gods, that is, Luna.

It's not just going into the mountains unpaid.

He is also being asked to crusade demons around Riccadale today. The request I received was a crusade of five great ghosts.

The Orga crusade is about their relationship with the Demons, and among the species known as the Ghosts, the Great Ghosts serve the Orga.

Sometimes it's easy for other adventurers to alienate themselves from the crusade of ghostly demons such as orgasms and orcs. That's why we're taking the initiative.

Reasons to be estranged, but ghostly demons do not leave much to be made of.

If it is a beast or insect system, it leaves materials such as skins and crustaceans, which makes it an extra income. Especially since demonic materials above the fourth level can always be bought for a thin price, so much so that they can sometimes be more than rewarded for crusades.

But ghostly demons don't earn extra money for the same dangers. Naturally, crusading another demon with flavor becomes more popular.

There are other reasons why I don't like ghost demons. That's the strength of reproduction.

In the case of large ghost-based demons like orgasms, hill ghosts (trolls), and cow ghosts (minotaurs), there is just no explosive increase, but the number of little ghosts (goblins), dog ghosts (cobolts), and medium ghosts (oaks) increases on a monthly basis.

As a result, the danger increases at once even if left alone for a short period of time. In fact, in the case of ghost crusades, there is an overwhelming increase over the number in the request, which becomes a risk.

Also, other advanced demons rarely make a herd, but ghostly demons make a herd. Not to mention goblins, cobolts, etc., but nearly thirty herds even in third-degree equivalent augs and trolls. It's tough for us to deal with that many.

Of course, it wouldn't be bitter at all if it was about five orgs for this request. Even if ten bodies are opponents, they think they can defeat another demon intact without even unforeseen circumstances such as an intrusion.

The only hassle is finding someone to deal with, but in the case of Auga, it's easy for you to notice the smell of a woman if you go near her and get close to her on your own. I'm not saying this because I look blatantly disgusted when I tell Liddy and the others about it.

Today's request is about five kilometers northeast of Rickadale, where we have information that we have found the footprints of an orga herd, and that we are going on a crusade.

I've gotten used to the woods around here lately, so it's an easy request to finish in about half a day.

Proceed smoothly through the woods and arrive where the information was. The scouts are me or Liddy, but since Auga is the opponent, I'll explore the surroundings ahead of time.

Footprints were immediately found, and as information suggests, there were about five bodies. It's a relatively new footprint, and it feels like we're territorial around here. Footprints continued north.

After further investigation, I found something so uncomfortable that I could accidentally have a voice.

That's just what I found when I raised my face, just over two meters tall. There was a branch of a tree paid for with a blade.

"Do you need to pay for branches this tall..."

And further investigation showed that several branches had been paid for, all relatively high. There were other little cloth-like objects hooked up about two meters away. The cloth was relatively new and sturdy like canvas.

So we call everyone and explain what we found.

"You don't hear much about Auga using blades," Sharon said.

"Maybe this guy's a demon," Beatrice mutters.

"What do you want to do? Do you want to keep following the trail?" Mel has confirmed.

I'm worried about that too.

Its footprints are relatively new, and it's only been about two days from what I've seen. Ordinary orgasms won't get out of the territory big, but likely won't apply if the Great Haunted are in service.

If you're an orga with a big stride or a big ghost tribe, you don't make it so bitter in the woods that it's hard to walk, so if you're serious about pursuing it, you should be quite prepared.

"You should go back once and put the information in the guild," Liddy suggests.

"I agree with Lydia, too," Beatrice said, setting the policy.

Then we head back to Riccadale, paying attention to our surroundings.

As soon as he entered the Riccadale branch of the Adventurers Guild, he reported the situation.

The receptionist is not very nervous, "Is that the mark of paying the branches with the blade?"

"Isn't someone waving their sword? He said he'd be happy if it was around his face."

"Would you do such a waste," he questions,

"There's no information on the Demons from anywhere, is there? Well, the story of September is unresolved."

Officials can't seem to move with that much information either.

"Okay. But just in case, please talk to the Branch Manager. Depending on the Branch Manager's decision, I think we should contact the General Headquarters as well."

It was a suggestion from me, a second-degree adventurer, and I thought I couldn't go under and say, "Okay. I'll tell the branch manager," he immediately acknowledged.

I couldn't talk any further after all, but I kept the info flowing to the adventurers here.

The next day, we head back to where the Auga footprints were. We're going to follow the trail as far as we can and find out what we're trying to do.

Footprints were still there, and tracking itself was possible. But the sky was covered in thick clouds, threatening to snow.

"I'll give up there when it snows, but I'll follow you where I can. It may not matter because I've been free for three months, but I'm really curious"

"Right. Finding out is not a bad thing in itself. I'm just wondering if we can get through this."

In Beatrice's words, "Because there are no villages or towns ahead? confirm."

"We're just going north of here into the mountains. If we head northwest, it's the Kingdom of Lax, but if we don't get out to Fonce Street, there are few towns and villages, so we can't chase them that way either."

She's right, the Aquila Mountains are sticking out north of Rickadale, with no towns or villages. As the Demons are aiming somewhere, if they can't catch up, they can't even target their destination. Then it would have to be a vague report and would have difficulty treating it as an guild as well.

Still, there is no denying the possibility that we are creating a base nearby. I'm going to do as much research as I can from Rickadale to the perimeter of Periclitle alone to make sure it doesn't become an obstacle to Luna.

Footprints were heading north. I didn't feel like I was flirting and I didn't think I was looking for prey.

That day we celebrated the night about ten kilometers north.

Create a simple base with earthly attribute magic, camp there, and prepare for the next day.

We discussed today's pursuit over a meal.

"Whatever you think is unnatural. I don't feel like fishing for bait at all," I say, nodding as the four of them agree.

This is what I noticed in the middle of the chase, and if the five-body org eats the bait, it needs a big beast.

The bones of the large deer that fed them were buried, not that they had not fed them, but they could not find traces of blood that they had eaten when they were laid down or as they were devoured.

"The place where we took our break was also unnatural. It's strange that Auga should sit down and take a break."

As Liddy put it, there were signs of taking a break in several places. It rests in the form of sitting on a fallen tree, and doesn't feel like a crude demon.

"Is it still the Great Ghost Clan?" Sharon asked.

"That's a good chance. There are still traces of paying off branches."

"But I think I've used a sword in an oak, too," Mel said.

Indeed, the oak that attacked the village of Thysek, where Luna came from, had a sword, and there was no figure of a manipulator (Tamer) -like demon clan.

"Sure, but in the case of oaks, we can use weapons for humans, but for augs, they're too small for humans"

"Right," Liddy nods.

It's hard to imagine an orga twice the size of a human being using a weapon for human use. I don't know yet if it's a sword or axe for both hands. But it's too small for a one-handed weapon such as a long sword to use. Anyway, if you're clever as a human being, I don't really think that an orga that's just a demon would do such a clever thing.

"Thinking about it, there's a good chance the Demons are involved... but you just feel weak as evidence. Hopefully we can find something after tomorrow..."

"Right. But it's going to snow tomorrow..."

That's what I say. I shudder brutally.

As the saying goes, the following day, December 7th, there was snow in the morning. That's why we decided to go back to Riccardale.

We arrive in Rickadale that night and go to the Guild branch with that leg to report.

"The Orga herd was heading north. The only thing that bothers me is that they use blades, and that they're rational for augs."

"Is it a blade...... well, I also use oak and goblins, so it's not impossible. If you were ten kilometers north, no crusade is necessary. Treat this request as complete."

"What happened to the report to the General Headquarters," he asked.

"I'm sending you information just in case."

The Branch Manager also sent information to General Headquarters just in case we were second-degree adventurers.

"What happens to this matter," Sharon asked.

"I'll also report the results of this one. It's a story that Mr. Zach and his party found, so we can't leave it alone. But I don't think the total headquarters can do anything either. It's this time of year, and we haven't had a second adventurer back in Rickadale yet."

The evidence is too weak to send a massive investigation team to the midwinter forest and the second-degree adventurers are pulling up to Periclitle in a massive investigation in September, and there are still only two sets of parties back, making it difficult to conduct a massive investigation qualitatively as well.

After the snow stopped, we went back into the woods to investigate, but there was no trace of an auga.

Once, I went back to Periclitle and went to the General Headquarters for a report, but I couldn't get it to work because the evidence was weak.

Not surprisingly, I thought the Alliance was unlikely to move with this information. I was just hoping for the possibility that I might be getting another piece of information.

In the end, there was nothing I could do, and I went back to Rickadale again.

A group of orgasms that Zacharias and the others followed had, as he expected, the Great Ghost Operator (Tamer).

Tamer was northbound with four of his family members, Auga, and two demonic women known as the Winged Demons.

They are passing the scene just two days before Zacharias and the others. If that timing is slow, it is likely that the Winged Demons flying over the sky have been discovered by Zacharias and others. If that happened, Zacharias and the others would have persevered in their pursuit.

And one Tamer of the Great Haunted Nation, one Winged Demon Spellman, one Apprentice, and four Augs would not have been able to contend with Zacharias' party, and would have been captured or exterminated. In that case, it is likely that the objective could not have been achieved.

They hadn't noticed, but they were helped by the good fortune of a slight slip of time.

Tamer increases his family as he spends the winter on the edge of the Kingdom of Lax. Furthermore, the magician set up a magic formation of metastases and called in another companion.

The companions are the Tamers of the Middle-Ghost tribe, who, with the help of the Spellman, will summon their families, Orcs.

Six months later, Tamer attacked a fort with his increased family and winged demons and little demons summoned by the Winged Demons.

That became the artillery for the invasion of the Demons in 325 years of Tria history.

But they were not the only demons who entered the western side of Aquila.

As expected by the Adventurer Guild and Zacharias, rituals were held in the mountains of Aquila.

The ritual was tragic and Aquila began to shake again. The mountain literally rocked.
