Dream Life

Lesson 51: Dan's Rendezvous

evening of February 10.

I've been on alert since I saw a demon-like man on January 22nd, but I haven't even felt any signs

Rickadale has not gone to the back because he gets covered in snow and although he goes into the woods to explore demonic trends, he has more restrictions on his movements than usual. So it wouldn't be gone if I told you there were no signs.

Few of our best adventurers are in the woods. As a result, no extra information comes in.

That situation persisted, but someone came to visit us.

That's Dan Jakes, a member of the Zach Hex (Sextet).

I haven't seen him for about a year or four months, but he's got a more grown-up vibe than before. I guess my consciousness as a minister of the Lockhart family made me do that.

"You've come a lot," he said, tapping his shoulder lightly as he shook his hand.

"I'm out of time. Master Zach seems to be doing well."

You're a little nervous about your first reunion in a long time, and you have a haunted look on your face.

When you're done greeting me, you and Liddy will be exchanging words.

My expression felt slightly stiffer when I met Mel, but it also quickly disappeared and I was back to the same gentle grin I had before.

"I would be tired of traveling in the snow. Once you've left your stuff in your room, let's have dinner and talk slowly."

When I said that, Dan said yes and headed to the room.

"You're feeling pretty calm now," Liddy mutters.

"Right. Well, Dan's turning twenty-four this year, too. And the village seems to be in a responsible position."

"Right. The training also felt like I was doing it without getting out of hand. Well, I don't think she's gonna get out of hand."

As Beatrice put it, Dan's way of finding foot carriage and surrounding signs seemed more out of place than before.

I thought I'd talk to Mel too, but I'm not asking because I'm going to have trouble telling you what to say.

"Are you going to talk to my brother about tomorrow," Sharon asked.

If Dan comes, I'm going to get used to this neighborhood first. For once, we've all talked about that, and I'm guessing Sharon has also heard it in the sense of confirmation rather than a question.

"After hearing Dan's opinion, I'm going to go into the nearby woods tomorrow and get an idea of what's going on around here first. Going to the back of the woods will be around the end of this month where the snow will subside."

Rickadale is north of the village of Rasmore and even higher altitudes. As a result, there is a lot of snow and low temperatures. Naturally cold protection measures are needed and movement is more likely to be inhibited than usual.

A complete rear guard like Liddy or Sharon would have less of a problem, but an avant-garde like me could take delays where they wouldn't expect movement to be restricted.

Dan is also in the forest to the east of the village, so we naturally know what it feels like around it, but we still need to get him used to it because differences in vegetation and snow matter subtly affect the way it moves.

I waited in the dining room talking about that. Already around, adventurers were leaning their jocks and eating with pleasure.

Gladys, a second-degree adventurer, has spoken to me, "You've got a new companion coming."

"Even if I say new, we used to have a party together."

"I just saw it chill, but he was young, too"

"Yeah, it's just one thing older than me. I'll introduce you later, but I'm also Sharon's brother."

"Really? Well, I guess that means you called. I'm looking forward to it."

That's all I said, we put the jock up and then we went back to our own table.

Dan came back with his gear off.

"It's a good place to stay even though it's a border. Surprised."

He's right, Rickadale is the front line for crusading demons coming down from Aquila, naturally hitting the periphery.

But the inn we're staying in, the "Momo Tree" pavilion, is well equipped with luxury accommodation in the big city, and the meals are delicious.

Of course, the accommodation cost is high, 20 kronas for two meals per night and 20,000 yen for Japanese yen.

Sometimes even the cheapest lodging in Rickadale (here) costs ten kronas with two meals per night, so the original price is expensive.

The reason for choosing this inn is that it is for second-degree adventurers.

There are some adventurers of the third level, not just the second, but all the powerful people who are said to be going up to the second level sooner or later.

From such amazing adventurers, you can immediately hear information about the dangerous depths of Aquila. This alone can reduce the risk considerably.

Of course, it goes without saying that good quality of meals is a minimum condition.

They tend to wonder if it's okay to keep staying in an inn that costs as much as 20,000 yen a night, but second-degree adventurers earn at least 2,000 kronas a month and more than 2 million yen.

There are many consumables, and the cost of maintenance is also high because of the high cost of the weaponry, but I often go into the woods for sleepovers, in which case it costs 10,000 yen because it is only room charge.

In other words, the accommodation fee you pay a month is about 400,000 yen, which is only about a fifth of your income, which is not much of a problem.

"Amenities are good, but meals are delicious," he says, recommending the chair.

"I never doubted that," Dan laughs as he sits.

Make a toast where drinks are prepared for everyone.

"So celebrate your reunion with Dan, cheers"

When I put up the Mithrill-coated jocks, Liddy and the others put up glasses and jocks and chanted.

Dan is the lager type of beer I chose. When you put your mouth on it, you open your eyes.

"It's really delicious! You can't beat the beer in the village."

"That's right. This man coached the brewery artisans directly."

That's what Liddy talks about with a laugh.

There is naturally a brewery here in Riccadale. Because there is a lot of first-rate adventurers who are high income earners and there is sufficient demand. For this reason, skilled craftsmen make materials and hassles at all costs.

Most of the beer but the quality was very good.

"I'm not coaching you. I just gave you a little advice."

In fact, even when it comes to guidance, there's nothing I can do as an amateur in beer making, so much so that I suggested thorough temperature control and improved ways to remove yeast.

"It wouldn't be convincing if someone who was immersed in a brewery when they weren't going into the woods told me."

When they say that, there is no word to return it. When I'm in trouble, Mel or Sharon laughs softly, and Dan laughs when he's caught by it.

"Master Zach doesn't change where he goes."

"Naturally. I will spare no effort for good liquor."

I answered that with a laugh, too.

Somehow I remember when I spent time in the village of Rasmore and Doctus and my chest just gets a little hot.

"That sounds fun," he said, and the Gladys have joined the conversation.

"This is my childhood tame Dan. It's the scourge of our party."

When I introduced him, Dan stood up and bowed his head,

"I'm Dan, a fourth-degree adventurer. Best regards,"

"I'm a second-degree Gladys. It's a pleasure to meet you," Gladys offers her right hand.

We exchanged hands with Gladys' party members and all toasted again.

"I've known you a long time. How much arm is that?" He asked me.

"As far as I can tell, you're the best scout. I'm not even close. And the sword and bow are top notch."

To put it that way, the Gladys said, "So much!" I'm surprised.

They know what we're capable of, and naturally they see me, Beatrice, and Liddy as scouts.

"That's not true! Because the sword, the bow, it doesn't reach the feet of the Zacks."

Dan waved hastily and tried to undo it.

"Good scouts are welcome. If it's like Zach or Beatrice admits, it means you can keep our lives. Nice to meet you, Dan."

Originally, second-degree adventurers have no sense of fellowship compared to third-degree adventurers. Because we believe that there are large walls in the second and third levels.

And yet Dan, who is only a fourth-degree adventurer, has never been so easily accepted.

First of all, the biggest thing is that you're a member of our party.

Speaking only of crusades, it's the most powerful party in Rickadale, and I've saved their lives before. That's why we unconditionally admitted who we are.

Another reason cites the lack of good scouts.

This is also the effect of the September investigation. Originally, scouts were often handled by lightly dressed swordsmen or archers. As a result, they are less defensive and disadvantaged in fighting powerful demons. But the September investigation forced those scouts to fight on the front lines, many of whom had lost their lives.

There has also been a decrease in the number of second-degree parties themselves, and excellent scouts are welcome.

The Gladys had just spoken all the way back to their seats saying, "You got in the way".

Dan bowed his head to them small,

"You're good people. Besides, it looks fun here, and I envy it."

"Right. This place has a different kind of fun than the village. But I can't even enjoy it."

So I decided to talk about the future.

"I asked Dan to come because, as I wrote in my letter, I found someone who looked like an enemy of the gods. Just looking at it from a distance, I felt comparable pressure (pressure) to that King of the Undead. Besides, the enemy has a Great Demon. If we don't get ahead of ourselves, we won't be dealing with each other."

"But there's Master Zach, Mr. Beatrice, and Mr. Lydia. Do you really need me?"

Liddy answers before I answer.

"I don't think you know because you haven't seen it, but that enemy is very dangerous. That's why I wanted you to help me."

And Mel said, "Please. Without you, one of us would lose his life," he bows his head.

"You don't have to bow your head, Mel. That's why I'm here."

Dan smiles softly. That said, he turns his gaze on me again.

"Both your hall and your predecessors sent you to fight with all your might. I intend to do the same. Besides, if the enemies of the gods and Master Zach are going to fight, I want to fight with you, even if you're stuck. It's my pleasure."

"I don't think it's going to be a footprint, but this is my pleasure."

Afterwards, while we eat, we talk about tomorrow and beyond.

"Depending on the weather, I'll get used to the woods here first. And I want to make sure you're working with us."

"Copy that. Because you're all going to be stronger while I'm gone."

Dan's right, our leveling is going well.

My swordsman level is sixty-two, and my earthly attribute, which is also my best at magic, is eighty-two, and I have more than eighty other attributes. Magically, you will be approaching Dr. Raspade, your mentor.

Liddy also has a racial trait called elves and is growing slowly, but still the archer level is approaching sixty and magic has a wind attribute of seventy three. High level sorcerer archers so far at her age are very rare.

Beatrice will be forty-three this year, but he was leveling well. The magician level will be seventy-six. Momentum approached Walt Vassel, one of the best spears in the Lockhart family.

He follows me and Mel with veteran-like attention and beastman specific movement acumen.

Mel's swordsman level is sixty six. Beatrice is laughing at me that I care that my level has slowed down lately but I'm only twenty-three and I don't need to worry about it.

The sharpness of the blow is the best of us because we inherit my grandfather's sword most faithfully.

Sharon got seventy good wind attributes. I told Dr. Raspade I was a genius in magic control. Her magic is far more accurate than mine. The more inductive magic you use, the more you can pierce the eye of a rapidly descending Fei Long (Wyburn).

Swordsmanship, which provides tip training, has also become thirty-two, and is at a level where it can be managed even if it is accidental.

And Dan, but when I listened, he was on a level higher than us.

The swordsman level is 51, and the archer level is also 53 and approaching Guy, his father.

Even more remarkable are signs detection and covert skills. Sign perception was 65, secrecy was 63, and compared to me and Beatrice being around fifty, it was a big difference.

"Wow. The Lockhart family, no, the best scouts around Periclitle."

I've never seen or heard of so much scourge in Periclittle or Rickadale.

"Now you can feel safe," Beatrice said, pounding Dan's shoulder.

After that, he listened to the story of the village of Rasmore and Dan himself.

The Lockhart family's territorial management is doing well, and they're growing up as vigilantes.

The bomb statement, "I've decided to marry you too..." quiets our table.

"The other guy is Elena," Dan nods with a bright red face when I hear him.

"Right. I'm sorry about that..."

That being the case, there are no more words out there.

I shouldn't have implicated him in refraining from marrying, but the current situation isn't going to allow me to do that.

"Never mind. And it won't take that long."

"That being said, it's a dangerous job. I knew it was just us..."

That's what I said. Dan forcefully blocks it.

"Being in the village doesn't change anything dangerous. No, reconnaissance in the East Forest might be more dangerous for the absence of Master Zach or Mr. Lydia. Besides, she understands this, too. I was born in a knight's house, so I know... and I don't like it. I'm the only one who's safe, even though we all know it's dangerous. It could be a foothold, but let us fight together."

I couldn't answer that word right away.

"You sure do. If everyone in the village is in danger too, I want to fight with you no matter what... ok. Let's do it together! Just like before."

Liddy and the others seemed to think the same thing as I did, verbalizing their determination.
