Dream Life

Episode 56: The Lockhart Family Policy

March 12th.

A letter from Dan arrived under me. The contents of the letter are astonishing, that there are demons far beyond Vlad Varonos, the King of the Undead.

To this fact I decided to hold consultations with my father, Govan.

"It's a letter from Dan."

That's what I say. I give my father a letter. The sun is already tilting and the sunset is plugging in from the outside, but the magic props of the lights are already lit and the office is sufficiently bright.

My father takes out his favorite presbyopia and starts reading letters.

As soon as I started reading, my expression became strong.

"A monster far beyond that Vlad... can a man defeat such a thing..."

I nod unintentionally at my father's whining.

Because hopelessness in that battle won't go away after all these years.

A herd of undead filling the meadows.

Huge enough skeletons to look up...... Knight Without a Neck (Durahan) rushing up the slopes of a human bone...... Necromancer (Rich) manipulating powerful magic......

But a being that gave more despair than all of them combined, that was Vlad.

A hero called Lionheart, my father risked his own life to stop moving, an enemy that the warrior who was the Lord of our house was finally able to defeat as he became incapable of fighting.

No, that was lucky. One wrong step, we would have been wiped out. For just one demon.

I assure you that Dan, who fought that demon, will have far more power than that. And it is said that this letter also confirms his son Zacharias. If Zach hasn't put in any corrections or supplements, he has to be taken as a fact.

This means that a victory is a tremendous opponent even if you fight with the total power of the Lockhart family.

My father finished reading the letter.

"So, what are you going to do, Matt?

My father's expression looks as usual, but his complexion looks blue and white, even though he receives the warm reddish light of the sunset.

"To be honest, I can't keep up with my head. As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to go and help Zach."

"Right..."

Unusual for a resolute father, he seems lost.

"I would like to gather those who were the Lord to decide on future policies. Let Rod have his first use tomorrow morning and come with Byron."

"Right. Before you do, you should talk to Walt and the others here."

At the suggestion of my father, I call six people: Walt Vassel, Nicholas Garland, Hector Marron, Guy Jakes, Enos Vassel and Will Keegan.

These are the ministers who deserve to be called treasures of my Lockhart family.

Walt and the others gather to talk about the contents of a letter from Dan.

Even Walt, who in his audacity does not take a pull on his father and usually rarely changes his expression, has a surprise look at the content of the letter.

"... I can't be mistaken for the enemies of the gods that Zach said. Beyond Vlad, there are Vlad-like demons, the first giant (Cyclops) in the dragon, and even the Great Demon (Greater Demon) and Demon (Demon)."

Everyone firms their expression to the words of my father.

Nicholas says "Dear Hall" and asks to speak. When I nodded and allowed, I started talking in the quiet tone of the usual way.

"What does Master Zach think? I think he might have something in mind."

"It seems to explore the actions of the enemy. It says," Consider how the enemy moves, intercept, or strike out. "

"What does it say about the Adventurer Guild?

"The story Zach heard is that the guild is not going to move. So far, there is no direct influence, and there is little evidence that the First Demon Nation is involved. I don't think the guild works either."

Nicholas' expression slightly clouds the words.

"Does that mean there is no support from other countries either? That's a tough situation..."

Nicholas thinks there.

Guy speaks on his behalf.

"East of Riccadale continues with deep forests and rugged mountains. The cavalry is useless, and even if it is an infantry subject, it will not continue to supply, so I was wondering if it would be difficult per se to strike out with a large army. So even if there were reinforcements from other countries, it wouldn't work for more enemies than Vlad."

Guy was an adventurer in Periclitle until he served the Lockhart family. The only one of us has ever been to Rickadale and knows the situation on the ground. That he pointed out that the great army could not operate.

"Right. I think the same thing about that."

So Nicholas joins the story again.

"It's also going to be difficult for the Lockhart family, on behalf of the Alliance, to sue for the crisis in the world. Because if we make a loud noise, it could cause panic. Even if we ask for help from another country, it would be better if we looked at the information Zach got."

"Right. Let's consider that."

Indeed, the name of the prestigious Lockhart family of Wu has grown too big. As Nicholas put it, it is likely to be counterproductive to complain of extraordinary danger here.

No one would then open their mouths, and I declared the meeting closed.

"I'm calling the rods. We'll have another meeting tomorrow afternoon, but think about what we should do by then."

Break up with my fathers and head to my lord's private room.

When I saw my sinking face, my wife Tanya called out.

"Is something wrong?

"Oh, I got a letter from Dan. They've got a horrible enemy."

My wife's expression is strong in the words.

My youngest daughter, Sophia, who was lying next to me, said, "Are you a terrible enemy? I've heard."

My daughter turns fifteen this year. Childhood disappears, too, and her height is beyond Tanya, her mother.

I've learned swordsmanship from my father, and now I'm arm enough to outnumber a mid twenties vigilante. I go along with it sometimes, but sometimes when I get alarmed, they take one.

"Oh, they say he's an enemy beyond the King of the Undead"

"You're a great enemy. I want to go to Riccardale, too."

Sophia hasn't fought Vlad, and she didn't seem to come pin when she was told she was King of the Undead, and she's saying something energetic about the weather.

On the contrary, blood draws from my wife's face.

"Are you stronger than that... so what? Zach and the others are coming back."

I usually talk in a Viscount-like tone, but now I can't afford that, and I'm back to my old tone.

"Tomorrow, I'll also call Rod to talk about it"

I answer that, but I don't think Zach will ever come back.

If I were to return to the village, I would be with Luna. To protect her here.

That one loves this village. We will not adopt measures to make the village a battlefield. The most likely thing would be to try to do something on your own.

But I won't tell my wife about it. Because it only makes you worry in vain.

The next day, with the dawn, I put out my use on the rod.

I entrusted a letter to the apostle's squire, but I have not written the details. No, to be honest, I didn't know how to write it. So it just says that Zach and the others want to find a powerful enemy and discuss their response policy as soon as possible.

Around 11 a.m., Rod brought Byron and Sims back.

There will be no more than the knights of the Lockhart family in Kilnarek, but I can't even afford to care about that.

"A powerful enemy appeared?" He spoke as he deposited his horse with his squire. The look is as bright as usual.

"Oh, according to information from Dan, an enemy has emerged beyond that Vlad"

A grin freezes in my words.

"It's not a mistake to ask, is it? It sounded like an enemy beyond that Vlad..."

"Oh, that's what I said. I'll tell you more in the conference room."

Even the ex-mercenary Byron, who was bold enough for our conversation, had stiffened his expression.

For the first time in a long time, key players from the Lockhart family gathered together. The only people who aren't here are Zach and the Theos who are going to Fortis to train.

But everyone's expression is dark.

"Some have already listened, but Rodrick and the others are here, so I'll explain it again from the beginning with the meaning of confirmation..."

Explain the contents of the letter Dan sent to you. There were more than ten men, but only my voice echoed in the conference room.

"... say it again at the end. It's the enemy Zach decided would surpass that Vlad. It would be more dangerous than the last great army of the undead. Only we, the Lockhart family, can move against that enemy now. The reason is because we are the only ones who know the existence of the enemies of the gods. I want you to give me an unmistakable opinion on how we should move on that."

Nobody spoke for about ten seconds. Rod breaks that silence.

"I want to check with your father."

"What?"

"I understand you can't use the Demonic Crusade Agreement, but aren't you thinking of asking the Royal Kaum Army for rescue? If you seek help through the Blacksmith's Guild, Your Highness will surely send you the best."

My son's opinion is that I thought about it too.

"I know what you're trying to say. A blacksmith's guild will help us without talking about the enemies of the gods. Under an agreement that says it will protect the Guild's facilities, if you ask the Royal Kaum Army to dispatch it, it will certainly come true"

"So that's what you're going to do?

I shake my head (wearing it) on the question.

"Why is that? Based in Kanga Hill, I think the Royal Kaum Army and the Lockhart family can fight in Vlad's favor."

I have also discussed this with my father, but I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible. And probably Rod knows about that, too.

"Even those Vlads are the only ones here who could have fought properly. If we are any more enemies, there are not thirty of us who can move properly, even though we are the Lockhart family. Too little experience in action when it comes to the elite Black Steel Knights of the Kaum Kingdom. My father and I are of the view that it is not to say that it is not to say that it is to say that it is to say that it is not to say that it is to say that it is to say that it is not to say that it is to say that it is to say that it is not to say that it is to say that it is to say that it is to say that it is not to say that it is to say that it is to say that it is not to say that it is to say that it is to say

My father nods aloud beside me.

The strength of the vigilante has risen significantly compared to the time of Vlad's raid six years ago.

Luke Wilby and others, who recruited his squire at the time of the Viscount to the Viscount, reached the veteran range and some were above level fifty.

There was also an increase in the number of promotions from vigilante to squire, with more than thirty Lockhart family squire. All of them are above level thirty-five and have a tough mental ability to dive through even more of my father's tough exams.

But even so, if those beyond Vlad are enemies, only the old minister and core squire will be able to fight.

Meanwhile, the Black Steel Knights of the Kaum Kingdom are said to be the elite guardians of Als Street and Fort Toa, but there have been no demonic attacks on Fort Toa in recent years and little experience in action. In addition, senior aristocratic elites often become commanders, and questions mark their ability as troops.

As for the Commander's case, it has gradually improved with reforms led by Her Royal Highness Queen Katrina, but it would still not even reach the feet of the Lockhart family.

Everyone agrees with my explanation, but Rod has made further suggestions.

"If the Demons are opponents, isn't there some way to turn to the Mage Guild for help? With Zach's handout, you'll find a high ranking magician in the professorship class at the School of Magic, Professor Kitty Erbain, who used to come to the village."

"That's what I thought, too. I'm going to give Zach instructions to consider it, but given what he's not saying, maybe there's something wrong."

I have visited Doctus several times, but there are no direct handouts to the Mage's Guild, nor do I know the truth.

I'm just wondering if there's something wrong with Zach or Sharon, who's familiar with the Sorcerer's Guild, when he sees that he doesn't propose anything.

When Rod finishes his remarks, Byron raises his hand. When I nodded, I started talking in a harsh tone.

"I don't think Master Zacharias will turn the village of Rasmore (here) into a battlefield. I thought if I were to strike my hand, I would mount an ambush. So what we can do is work with it."

"Right."

"It seems to me that you do not want to involve us in the fact that that person is unable to communicate a clearer policy. However, if you are going to fight so many enemies, you should put in the utmost fighting power. If he had the strength, he'd come up with some way to do it."

Many nod at Byron's remarks. Especially so much that young Rod and Sims are right in the mouth.

The only one of them had a stiff expression. That was Nicholas.

"Tell me if you have any opinions," he says.

Nicholas nodded quietly, "You may be offended," he prefaced and started talking.

"I wish I could win with the greatest power, but you should also think about when you lose..."

Young Rod's expression hardens on the word when he loses. If anyone but Nicholas had spoken, Rod would have pinched his mouth.

"... If we can fight and win with all our strength, there is no way that Master Zach will not be proposed to do so. Perhaps Dan suggested it and pushed it… If my thoughts fit, if you don't think about it and move on, you'll annoy him."

"You mean when you lost..." Hector mutters, but no one has the look to blame Nicholas.

"So what do you think we should do?" My father asks.

"If we are to challenge the battle again, we must strike at those who stand above us, such as Lord Gideon of the Sword Saint of Fortis and Lord Hamish of the Red Arm of the Kingdom of Lax, who are said to be a thousand. To do so, you will need commanders who bind them."

Gideon Dyer is Theo's division, and if he can move him, he can gather the excellent mercenaries of Fortis, the mercenary country.

Hamish Markat is also said to be the best mercenary in the kingdom of Lax, and his mercenary regiment has many a thousand mercenaries.

"Specifically?" My father hears even more.

"Dear Hall, Lord Rod needs you to stay"

"I can't do that!" Rod raises his voice.

"Now listen to Nicholas!" When my father reprimands me, Rod bows his head small, but doesn't look convinced.

"We cannot appeal to the whole world without Master Miyagi and Master Rod for the fact that our predecessors commanded us and defeated us by implementing the measures contemplated by Master Zach. It is the position of the owner of the prestigious Lockhart family of Wu, the man, who needs to know Lord Gideon, Lord Hamish. Furthermore, if the Lockhart family is on the front line during the rematch, Master Rod will have to stay."

Rod had previously met Hamish when transporting the Zack collection.

"Even though we met, we just stood and talked years ago. Whatever your father, the head of the Lockhart family, says, I'm going to Riccadale."

I knew I had to stay. It is unlikely that there will be anyone from the Lockhart family when we fight again. Given that, Nicholas is not wrong in pointing it out.

"I know exactly what Nicholas says. But when you fight again, I'll be on the front line. I'd rather think about winning than losing it."

Rod puts a relief look on my words.

"Then confirm. Everyone here, except me, heads to Rickadale. Others only take a squire whose father and Walt allow him to accompany them. Father, is this okay?"

"No problem, but what are you going to do with Kilnarek's rule? You can't let this place go, either."

"I'm going to leave it to Rosalie. I can trust the Kilnarek officials, and I was wondering if there would be any problems if Nicholas' men were focused for a short period of time."

There are few problems without a lord's proxy, but the absence of a master or knight's lord at all leaves anxiety when something happens. In that regard, the position of Northern Governor Raswell as the daughter of the border uncle and wife of a man is helpful. Civilians proposed by Zach and raised by Nicholas are also steadily gaining strength, with no problems in the short term.

Besides, even if demons strike this village and I lose my life, I can avoid the fact that my third son Theophilus tells Fortis that if his grandson Dean is in Kilnarek, there will be no one to inherit the Lockhart family.

Hector then expressed concern about the absence of the Commander class.

"There is no one left to take command but your palace, but is the defense of the village okay?

My father answers about it before I answer.

"All you have to do is deputize for the captain for the squire you won't take with you. With a few enemies, you can fight with Kanga Hill and this castle. Thinking of the old days, there's still too much power left."

My father was right, when I came to this village, the vigilantes were just less amateurs than recruits and poorly equipped. Compared to that, only those left behind have sufficient power.

"As it stands, it would be enough if I stayed. Everybody help Zach."

Thus Rodrick, a man headed by his father, Govan, from the Lockhart family; Walt, a minister, a knight; Nicholas, Hector, Guy, and Byron, whose sons Enos and Sims, plus ten of his squire chief Will, decided to head under Zach.

Afterwards, Father and Walt spoke out to key squire, with Luke and ten other squire to join.

There are many wives and beliefs in the chosen squire, but I can't just say that this time. I thought the unchosened squires would divulge their dissatisfaction, but the fact that my grandfather had chosen them immediately did not cause dissatisfaction to be heard.

The only person who leaked his dissatisfaction was his second daughter, Sofia. It is true that the level is about to reach forty, and I have some experience in action, so I don't even know if I want to go with you.

But you can't just ask selfishness this time.

That evening, he announced he was headed to Riccadale.

But the fact that those, arguably the total power of the Lockhart family, are going to march out, made it a story that Zach is going to exorcise the dragon he finds so as not to be unnatural.

For this reason, many villagers came to see me off the next day when I left. Its expression was bright and inside it was "Bring back the dragon's head!" and so on. "

I crossed over and waved at them, but tried not to cloud my expression.
