Dream Life

Episode III: Dan's Visit to Wellburn: Middle Story

April 25th.

We arrived in Periclitle, the city of adventurers.

There are two things to do here.

One is to explore Luna's condition somewhat.

And the other is the job of handing over the Zach collection to the blacksmith, Mr. Geiselhale. However, it's perfectly fine to leave this job alone.

Because Dwarf would already know that the Zack collection has entered the city.

As expected, when we entered the inn, Mr. Geiselhale showed his face.

I heard someone from the Lockhart family is here.

It has not been five minutes since I entered the inn. It was too early to get the information to Mr. Geiselhale's workshop in the middle of the South District, but I didn't care that it was natural.

"It's been a while. I was going to visit the workshop later."

That being said, I ordered Bill, a vigilante, to get a stainless steel tank saying, "Bring me one example tank".

That one word brightens Mr. Geiselhale's expression all at once.

"I need a favor," he cuts out, "but Mr. Geiselhale is up in the sky.

I'm learning that it's useless to say anything until alcohol arrives at a time like this, so I decided to wait quietly.

Stainless steel tanks will be transported soon.

"They say it's eight years old," he handed it to me, adding to the explanation Zach has given me.

"Master Zach's story says that it's from Mr. Scott's Lasmore distillery fresh oak barrel mixed (vatted) with the finish of Mr. Brandon's Finside distillery wine barrel. I don't know, Master Zach and Mr. Scott said it was delicious."

"Oh well! Now let's have some fun with everyone soon... Speaking of which, did I tell you I need a favor?

I'm surprised what I was hearing, but I try not to put it on my face.

"I was attacked by a bandit in Karsh..."

"What!" he raises his voice, ignoring it and moving on.

"I'm not a big enemy, I'm not injured, but my gear is bloody and ruined... so I wanted to ask you to take care of it."

"Then everyone come with me. I'll ask the guys who come for a drink of the Zach collection."

We're going to the Guild Branch. Though I thought I might see Mr. Luna, I'll have to go when this happens.

Naturally, as soon as we enter the guild branch, we enter the banquet.

What we need to be aware of is that neither Master Zach nor Mr. Lydia are here. I mean, you can't expect the magic of detoxification, and if you get on the Dwarf's pace, it's life-threatening. This has been said many times by Master Zach.

I was drinking with caution, but I still got to suffer a terrible hangover the next day.

The memories are vague, but we were still talking about the maintenance of the equipment, and it was supposed to be delivered by the morning of the 27th, when we left.

As my head gangs with a hangover, I go explore how Luna, another job, is doing. Even so, I'm just going to talk to Joan, the owner of "The Nest of the Arid Eagle” who's stayed here before.

I was going to go to Mr. Yoan's by myself, but Elena wants to go with me, so we're on our way.

The Jails are completely down with hangovers, so they say to sleep in the inn. At first, I said it would follow because it was our escort, but the escort was not in a position to move.

For once, he's given drugs that work for hangovers, so he'll be back at night.

I don't have any gear, so it's just a spare sword for everyday wear when I'm spending time in the village. Elena also looks like a couple who have come out of the country in a simple generated piece that is a regular outfit, lined up together. In fact, it's not a mistake because you're out of the country.

I was with the banquet late so it was after 9 am when I woke up. It was later than planned, but arrived at the Rough Eagle's Nest before eleven o'clock.

It was time to make lunch, but Mr. Yoan listened to me comfortably.

"I care about Luna (that girl) because Zach asked me to..."

Mr. Yoan's story was that he was having fun with his party buddies and that he had seen them walking with a smile on his face many times. However, it feels like the class hasn't risen and I still keep staying in the cheap lodging.

"... Well, Hazel said it was time to change the inn because the arm is up well. You said you wanted to stay with us before, so I'll let Zach know the situation with a letter or something."

"Thank you. Keep it up."

That's what I say and I bow my head.

I had run errands quicker than I thought, so I asked Elena to say, "Shall I look around?"

When he did so, he nodded happily "yes" loudly.

The South District may meet Mr. Luna, so he walks through the northern commercial district. The city is vibrant because it is a major traffic shock and commerce is thriving. I thought the Imperial City and Ezarrington were awesome, but it feels like we have more momentum here.

The two of us look around the grocery store and grocery store.

"It's like when I looked around with you guys in Imperial City."

"Right. I hope you still have something interesting here."

I was walking around the city having that conversation.

By then he had also totally woken up to the hangover and walked with her in his arms. Sometimes, I felt her sweet scent coming on the spring breeze, and I didn't think I'd abandoned this life either.

April 27th.

I'm done taking care of my gear and I'm leaving Periclitle. I miss my next destination, Doctus.

Enter Aurelia Avenue heading west of Periclitle.

Aurelia Street is dangerous to the west, but the road is well maintained and safe to Doctus. It was a little hot when it came to spring, but I went down the street looking sideways at the Fatas River.

May 1.

There was no particular trouble and I entered the new town of Doctus yesterday. I'm heading to the old town today to do the work that Master Zach asked me to do.

The task I was asked to do is to give Professor Lionel Raspade the dossier and the letter, and to give Professor Kittry Erbain the letter and ask him to look into the gods.

Enter the Old Town, the standard fortified city of the Empire.

It's just me and Elena this time. Jayle and the others have also invited him, but he has been turned down for wanting to take care of his gear.

Imagine, it's a safe city, so I think it left us alone. I feel like Master Zach is secretly instructing me to do this, but I'm not listening.

Doctus goes with Elena on her way home from Welburn, but she's never been to the old town, and she was surprised to see a magician or bookstore and say, "You have so many shops".

"Regardless of the bookstore, they say there are a lot of fakes in the magic props store. My sister said that when Master Zach went, the store owner would rush to bring the real thing forward..."

We head to the Tilia School of Magic with that story.

When I left my weapon and crept through the gates, there were as many students as there used to be. Many students practice magic in the school garden because it's time for the final practical exam.

"You have a lot," Elena said, surprised, but seeing the magic of one student,

"You can't use it in action with that. Is there someone more amazing?"

"That seems normal. Not so much because the Zacks are just too awesome."

Elena had been in Welburn, the big city in the northern part of the empire, for a long time, but she said it was the first time the Zacks had seen a magician fight nearby. For that reason, he thought even ordinary magicians could fight a little more.

I head to Dr. Raspade's room to talk about that.

I've only been here a few times for the sake of Master Zach, but the location of the lab hasn't changed and I arrived at my destination without getting lost.

There are signs of people and I knock, but I don't hear back.

"Excuse me," he says, opening the door.

It would otherwise be a violation of manners, but only the teacher tells me that this is the right thing to do.

It was dim in the room. The magic props of the lights illuminate the desk with the wooden windows closed.

The teacher was on his way to his desk and was moving his pen unconsciously.

"I'm Dan Jakes, the minister of the Lockhart family. Dear Zacharias Lockhart has asked me to give you information about the Magic Formation."

Until then, when you didn't notice us at all, as soon as you gave us Zach's name, you looked up like Gabba.

"It sounded like information from Mr. Lockhart's magic team, but is that true?

"Yes, my name is Dan Jakes, I'm a Lockhart family minister"

"Mm-hmm. I think I've seen him before. Are you Miss Jakes' best friend?

The teacher is somewhat bad and I haven't seen him much, but he seems to have remembered me in relation to Sharon.

"Yes. Sharon Jakes is my sister. Now I'm Zacharias' wife and Sharon Lockhart..."

"Well... where is that information?"

I was surprised that you remembered and forgot to release the materials. [M] I rush to retrieve the material.

"This is a compilation of information from the Blacksmith's Guild."

Hand over about fifty documents. When the teacher tried to take it away and took it, he began to read it without even shaking his side.

"Later, I will deliver Mr. Zacharias' letter," he said, leaving the lab because Master Zach had expected this to happen.

"Is that okay with you?" Elena asked.

Common sense makes her worry natural, but common sense doesn't make sense to the teacher.

"It's okay, or you can't even talk to me, so it's more efficient to run errands at Mr. Kitley's first."

Although she gets the look of being difficult to convince, she decided to think it was something like this because she was new to something called a researcher.

When I visited Mr. Kitley's lab, I was lucky enough to be in the room.

The moment you look at my face, you say, "Long time no see, Dan," and you greet me with a smile.

When I talked about marrying Elena, she hung up the words of blessing.

After a light chat, give him the letter he had kept saying, "It's a letter from Master Zach".

"Master Zach says he needs a favor from Mr. Kitley."

"You want to know about the gods," Ms Kitley mutters as she reads the letter. After reading the letter, he turned to me.

"Zach, your letter only says that something big could happen about the gods ahead. I was wondering if you could tell me more."

"I haven't heard the details either. But we know that there was a demonic figure who summoned the Demon General when he fought the Demon General (Arch Demon) in the depths of Aquila. If you're a Demon, the Dark God (Noctis) is involved, and we've heard other stories about the active movement of light godliness."

"Right......" Mr. Kitley accepts my awkward explanation.

"You remember analyzing the information I got from the ancient ruins."

You're talking about investigating ancient sites with us. [M] I snort loudly.

"What I learned from that information is that Jilsol has something to do with it, more importantly, that there is a secret in the Temple of the Creator (Creatore) in Jilsol..."

I've heard this story before, so I nod without saying anything.

"... I've fished a lot of literature in the Great Library from that tip. So what I found out is that the gods seem to be fighting someone. I think it might be Vanitas specifically."

Master Zach said the same thing, so I accidentally opened my eyes.

"Zach, did you come to the same conclusion?

"Yes, I just said not to tell you this because Master Zach is just an inference..."

"You're as discreet as ever," Mr. Kitley chuckles.

"So what do you want to know about Vanitas?

I wonder how to answer. [M]

Master Zach wanted to know the relationship between the eleven gods and Claire Tor, and Vanitas.

I told him that honestly.

"Yes... you're still thinking about something. Okay."

That's what Mr. Kitley said and nodded loudly,

"You guys are going through here again, aren't you? When would that be?

"I think it's after June in my current plans?

"I'll put it together in the dossier by then. It would help if you gave it to me, Zach, and told me you wanted me to come if you were interested."

Looks like Mr. Kitley wants to do research with Master Zach.

Return to Dr. Raspade's lab after about half an hour of chatting with Mr. Kitley.

The teacher was looking at the material, taking notes.

"This is a letter from Master Zacharias. We need to talk to you about magic tools."

"... consultation? Is that him?

That's what I say and start reading letters.

When you finish reading the letter in about a minute,

"I see. It's a really unique idea. I'm interested, too, so I'm going to fish for the materials."

I promised my teacher I'd be here in a month, and I left the lab behind.

"That's amazing. I first met Dr. Raspade, who sometimes comes out to talk to me, but it was just amazing."

"I was surprised when I first met him, too. Well, my sister said that Master Zach was surprised too, so it seems like everyone would be surprised."

"What is Master Zach, too! I can't imagine."

Master Zach has studied magic props in the village and they are also used in a lot of castles. He said he thought it was the same as Dr. Raspade because he did a lot of other unusual things with his liquor brewing and village maintenance.

Stroll around the Old Town with that story and head back to the New Town. I just left the castle gate,

"I'd like to see where I used to live," he said upwards.

"It doesn't matter. 'Cause I was originally gonna go say hi."

I was going to see the faces of Mr. Novello and Mr. Littlef, who were neighbors.

After I go to the inn to pick up a souvenir, I head to the house where I lived.

The town had hardly changed. Around the well, housewives wash vegetables while they have a wellside meeting, and children run around in squares that they also used in training.

"That's a good point," Elena said as she looked around.

"It's a good place. It's a place full of memories for me..."

I remember when I first came here over a decade ago.

Back then, Dear Zach, Lydia, Beatrice, I had a sister. And Mel, too.

It's a place with lots of sweet and sour memories.

"I'll come back with you. Now take our children..."

She blushes in her own words.

"Right. That could be fun..."

Talking about that, I headed to the house I used to live in.
