Dream Life

Lesson 10: To Doctus

July 10.

Dan's wedding and Dwarf Festival were successfully completed. Of course, it was difficult to say that the Dwarf Festival was safe because it was attended until the Late Night Festival.

Still, it ends without any major trouble, and the village is regaining its peaceful routine.

I was in the illusion that I had had time to spare because I had been flustered for the past month or so.

Even so, daily training and reconnaissance to the East Forest, distilled liquor making and even free time for Nicholas' prosthetic craftsmanship, who lost his left hand.

That prosthetic craftsmanship, but I can't say it's working.

I know the cause of this, but I have not found any problems in the input circuit, until I say that the problem in the conversion circuit part is huge. Specifically, it seems to be an error when communicating the movements ordered by Nicholas to the spirits.

Also, I've tried a lot on the output part, but it's difficult to stop at a subtle angle, and there are piles of glitches such as having to keep consuming magic.

first prosthetic hand, but failed to try to reproduce both wrist and finger movements. The cause is that the magic formations are too complicated to convey their intentions to the spirits.

For this reason, we tried to simplify it.

A modification was made to move only the index finger and thumb as its first round.

The force application and subtraction have not yet been controlled, but it can be confirmed that only two of them will work well. However, if I increase the number of fingers, my movements will go crazy as soon as possible and I will be out of control. I can't think of a solution to this glitch, and it's a situation where I'm repeatedly trying and making mistakes.

I was having such a day, but today I received a letter from my mentor, Professor Raspade.

The letter said that I had received new information and that I had come up with a good idea in the conversion circuit part, and I wanted Doctus to come because I wanted to talk to him directly.

After dinner, he whines to himself, "I wonder what's going on" as he leans his booze.

"Why don't you go to Doctus? I think you might want to go to Aurelia and find some new ingredients."

Liddy was in favor of the trip.

Beatrice is slightly passive and agrees with Beatrice that "the journey is good, but because life here is the best," Mel also agrees that "it will be time to take the exam, and I think you can take it a little slower".

"I think I should go to Doctus," Sharon insisted uncommonly and clearly.

"Why not? Mel's right, Doctus is full of people right now," Beatrice said.

"Because I'm concerned about Mr. Kitley's research."

"But the gods told me not to get involved," I argued.

"Certainly it was forbidden by the gods to involve Mr. Luna. But I don't think I was even forbidden to look into it. Doesn't it interfere with what the gods say to look into the gods of nothingness (Vanitas) and inform various people of their results?"

"I mean, do what you can without directly involving Mr. Luna?" Mel asks.

"That's right. I can't tell you for sure because I didn't hear it in person, but Vanitas is interfering with a lot of people. So is that demon general (Archdemon), and Vlad, king of the undead... if nothing can be done, it would even interfere that we are alive. Because Luna is the adopted daughter of the Lockhart family, and indirectly, she has no choice but to be involved."

Sharon's thing is polar, but it's not going to be out much. In fact, if it were to be viewed as interference by the extent of the investigation, Mr. Kitley's research, which I suggested, would also be splendid interference.

"Even for me, I think there's too much to be concerned about Vanitas to be refreshed. However, I am curious if it will not fit deeper in the opposite direction"

"Fit in depth? What do you mean?" says Liddy, questioning.

"I mean, I think if I found out, I'd want to move. If you don't know it, you'll have to be refreshed, but if you do, I wonder if you can let it go, or if you want to do something even if you know it's interference."

"You sure do. There are things in the world that you shouldn't know."

Sharon disputes Beatrice's opinion.

"But I don't think you can even see it if you leave it like this and the world dies. According to Zach, even if Luna and someone called the Son of the God of Light (Lucidus) join forces, they can only seal it for thousands of years. I mean, as soon as it fails, but the world could go to doom."

"No, I don't think so," he denied Sharon's words,

"It was twenty years ago when I came to this world, but that's when I met the gods. The story then was that it could perish hundreds to thousands of years later. I mean, not right now."

"If so, we should extra head to the investigation. If it doesn't affect you soon, you have a chance to get it back."

Sharon is desperate, but I wondered why.

"I don't know what you're trying to say. But why are you so desperate? Sure, Mr. Kitley's research could be the key, but it might not matter at all."

"I've thought a lot about it, too. How is the existence of Vanitas so unknown? Why is the Temple of Claretore, known as the Temple of the Beginning, so unimportant? Why is it that the first god, Claire Tor, is so unbelievable in the first place… I just think Vanitas is intentionally hiding it, the gods"

I care about her myself. But I don't understand what it means to look into it.

"Sure it is..."

"We don't think about anything. We're not livestock. I don't care what the gods do where they don't know it, but what about being people who even leave it within their reach?"

I know what Sharon's trying to say.

"Right. You just have to move carefully after you find out. The gods also forbade direct contact, but only ambiguous things were said about indirect involvement. If you think about it and act on it, you may not have a problem."

"I mean, you're going to Doctus?" Liddy confirms.

"That's what I'm saying. Vanitas, knowing about all the gods as well as Creators should help you in deciding your course of action in the future. And in terms of protecting this village."

What I care about is Vanitas' behavior. Even if destroying the world is a raison d 'être, I do not believe that it will destroy it unconditionally. If Vanitas is a god who destroys the world unconditionally, it should be most efficient to do so from the time the world was created.

So I'm wondering if there's some kind of condition.

The same can be said about the gods of the eleventh pillar.

There are too many constraints for it to be moving to protect the world. We talked about empowering Vanitas if you interfere too much, but you can smash it before you do. For example, it is likely that they are constrained by non-Vanitas beings.

In the meantime, he said that when we met the gods, there was a superior being than ourselves, and that we were being restricted by it. Finding out about that superior being may see the Gods' principles of action.

"Tell the fathers what this is all about. On top of that, I'm going to ask my opinion and if there's no objection, I'm going to head to Doctus."

"Right. You should talk to your museum and your predecessors," concurs Beatrice.

"What would you do if you were to head to Jilsol? If you go through the Empire, you have to go through Ezarrington, and if you come from Aurelia, you'll go through Lukes."

Mel expresses concern.

"Depends on what happens, but I think I'd rather use the sea route via Aurelia than go within the Empire"

"Why is that? I think the Lockhart family is an enemy of light godliness."

"I don't think there's much of a problem if you use Aurelia's merchant handouts to become a traveler. Well, I can't help but gather information around here."

"Right. We have to use the port of the Holy King to get from Aurelia to the Imperial Capital. With so many ships crossing, there should be a lot of travelers as well as merchants, and I don't think you'll stand out unless you get out of port town."

Liddy is right, the sea route connecting the commercial city of Aurelia with the big consumer, the imperial primus, is busy on many ships. Many of them have concealed their identities, but the Holy King has also placed emphasis on relations with commercial guilds and has not exercised any significant control.

That being said, we cannot say that there is no danger in the present situation, where relations between the Empire and the Holy King have deteriorated. Travelling within the Empire can get you into a political conflict, but there is little anxiety in terms of personal danger. However, if you can identify yourself in the Holy Kingdom, you are likely to be held hostage against the Empire and the Blacksmith Guild.

Then I went to talk to my father and grandfather.

My father, who listened to me, said, "Well," then he meditated his eyes to think about it.

My grandfather seemed to agree with my actions,

"Finding out about the enemy is a good thing. Especially now that we don't know where that pitch-black demon clan is, we need to know how the enemy moves."

Hearing his grandfather's words, his father slowly opened his eyes.

"As Father said, it is necessary to know about the enemy..."

So I cut the words and stared me in the eye.

"... there is no reason for me to stop you if you are going with knowledge of the danger. First of all, you must be convinced yourself as it is now. You should act thoughtfully as long as you stay stuffy."

My father seemed to see in my heart.

"Thank you. But if you go from Doctus to Jilsall, you will leave the village for at least six months, perhaps a year. I don't think that enemy is going for this place, but I'm still anxious not to be able to come back if anything happens."

"That point will be fine," my father said, adding with even more laughter.

"It's not a mission from the gods anymore. You don't have to feel it. Why don't we just think about traveling without water with Lydia and the others? I heard there was a“ honeymoon ”in the world you were in. I'm out of time for newlyweds, but I think it's a good idea to relax."

He seemed concerned that I might be tied to the Gods' mission.

"Right. I'm going to take a sightseeing trip to Aurelia or Gilsall, and I'll try not to worry about it"

After breaking up with my fathers, I will report to Liddy and the others.

Beatrice and Mel, who had not been on board earlier, were so pleased that the four of them raised their voices of approval about the honeymoon.

The departure shall be on the 13th of July three days later, and preparations will be made.

When it comes to preparation, I have no position other than that of second son of the Lockhart family, and the distillery has no problem with the Scots. Parent classes are mostly taken, as you can see from the blacksmith guild's training institute lecturer's work the other day at the Blacksmith Skills Assessment Meeting, so there is nothing to be done urgently.

She said she was going on a honeymoon because she wouldn't worry about her mother or the ministers.

"Send letters sometimes. Besides, you'll be back as soon as you have a baby."

My mother tells me to laugh.

"I know you do, but don't be impotent. Because you don't have to carry everything."

You don't have to tell me. You seem to know what I'm gonna do.

July 13th.

He was dropped off by his family, ministers and villagers and left the village of Rasmore.

The villagers think they're going on an easy trip, but the families and ministers feel they're headed for a serious job, even though they haven't told them the details, and it takes words to pray for safety on the road.

Go north on Als Avenue as usual and head to Periclitle.

Though we passed the dangerous Karsh Pass along the way, we were never attacked by demons or bandits.

He arrives safely in Periclitle on July 18th.

I stayed at the Northern District Inn so I wouldn't meet Luna again this time, and it was worth it and I never met her.

He arrived in Doctus on July 22nd.

After Zach and the others left Periclitle, Luna heard their rumors from party leader Hazel.

"Mr. Zach and the others will be in Periclitle. He said he's going on trips to a lot of places because he's married to anything. I envy you."

"Is it a honeymoon......" Luna replies, but said nothing more.

"You're in a good position. I can't imagine a trip without a purpose."

Fans of Cat Beast Man also nodded at Ryan's words,

"Right. Well, he's a second-degree adventurer at that age. You're going to relax because you earned your disappointment."

"They're making money from other things and alcohol, so you don't have to work like us. But I wouldn't be jealous if I could do anything like that, but envy doesn't make a difference."

"I envy you because you have money? Or because you're married?" and fans tease.

"Oh, are you trying to tell me I can't have that?" Hazel stares. But soon he laughed, and Ryan was caught, too, and started laughing.

Luna did not join such a conversation.

(Is it really a honeymoon? But it's none of my business. 'Cause I ran away from those people...)

Though I think so in a sense of self-derision, the fact that I didn't see him casts a shadow on my mind.

"You missed me?," he asks, feeling like hazel is going to brown, but in those eyes I could see the color that cares for her.

"No. It's a fun trip around the corner, and you should stay out of the way. Besides, I don't miss you because I have everyone."

He seemed strong on Hazel, but didn't mention that, saying, "Right," and holding Luna's shoulder.

"I'm not talking about the money earlier, but it's time to move the base."

"What are you talking abruptly about?," the fan tilts his neck.

"This inn isn't bad either, but I want to make some money during the summer and move to the" Rough Eagle's Nest ”pavilion in September. Because it's famous for its delicious food."

"But are we okay? I think it's enough here," Ryan said.

"You hang in there. You're the only one who can defeat the big guy at our party, and you want Luna to eat something delicious."

Hazel pounds Ryan on the shoulder.

Listening to such conversations, Luna was thankful to God that she could have been with a good fellow.
