Mountain immediately rose from his front with a loud roar that shook the entire room. He raised his massive shield and planted it right into the floor, just as the projectiles came.

At the same time, Sumo and Inquisitor rose at his sides, their swords raised, and then Jenna appeared right next to Ark.

BOOOOOOM!

The sound of ringing metal reverberated through the air as the projectiles pounded into Mountain’s shield. But he held on.

Sumo and Inquisitor moved like phantoms, slicing up any projectile that came at Ark from the sides, turning the floor around them muddy.

As for the golem, Ark handled it himself...

The golem’s foot came down with oppressive might, but Ark casually raised a hand forward. He met a force of thirty thousand pounds with the palm of his hand—

Anyone who saw him would have assumed he was mad. But once his arm made contact, something shifted in the very universe.

Like playing a movie in reverse, the monster retraced its path, moving back in time.

The air around it stilled, its body functions moved in reverse, and then five seconds later, it was at the point it had been in the past...

But that was not all...

"Accelerate..."

Swish!

The monster was suddenly flung back, slamming into two other golems and knocking them to the floor.

Ark pointed his free hand at the monsters, and an ashen flame filled with lightning appeared. Beside him, Jenna raised her staff as well, a massive fireball appearing above their heads.

"Burn them all."

VWOOOOOSH!

A shockwave cut through the room on impact, both spells reducing the golems to a pile of charred, broken rocks.

A toasty heatwave followed, sweeping past the floor before washing a comfortable warmth over Ark.

He turned around to the golem he had bonded with webs earlier and began walking towards it.

The golem snapped the webs like strings, its crimson eyes glowing more fiercely—

And then a stream of fire suddenly poured out of its head, rushing towards Ark.

But Ark simply grasped the fire as though it was a refreshing gust of wind.

"Rebound..."

The flow of fire suddenly reversed, but this time, Ark did not rewind the entire golem, only the fire...

"Accelerate!"

The fire collided with the coming flames, rushing past them before blowing the golem’s head apart.

He wiped up the debris that had appeared around him, then stared up... at the boss monster.

[Golem Refresh Initiated!]

Multiple fresh golems appeared around him like a wall, the monsters all fixing their eyes on Ark.

"How irritating..."

He could wipe out as many golems as they came, but there was one disadvantage he had, and the reason that plan would ultimately fail...

Mana...

While the event would constantly refresh the number of golems in the room, his mana would constantly be depleted up until he could no longer use spells, or resummon his Summons.

’It should have appeared by now...’ Ark glanced around the room, his eyes searching.

There was only one reason he had been bold enough to use rebound so many times, even though he knew just how much mana it consumed...

His eyes brightened once he saw it. It was a glowing blue orb that hovered just slightly above the floor.

If he could consume it, his mana would be immediately restored!

There was only one tiny... little problem.

It was right in front of the boss.

Ashen flames raged on one hand, while his mace glinted on the other. The room trembled as the golems began their death march—

"Alright boys, and lady..." Ark could feel the excitement bubbling up in his chest. "Let’s go get it!"

<•••>

Olivia was a sweaty mess...

She could not remember how many golems she had killed, neither could she remember just how much experience she had gathered so far.

There were just too many to keep count of, especially when it came to the mud golems.

Although they were much weaker than the others, their destructive damage more than made up for it.

The first time she saw them get refreshed, Olivia felt her heart drop, but now, she had accepted that it was simply the way survival missions went...

Swish!

While in the air, Olivia suddenly darted to the side as a dark projectile rushed past her.

She tucked her wings to her side to increase her speed, and then raced towards the mud golems, moving so fast that the world blurred in her vision.

And then suddenly, a dark shadow appeared in her path, trying to snatch her from midair.

Olivia adjusted her wings once again, this time spreading them out like a parachute to slow herself down.

Red light flashed in her face as the golem’s eyes met her own, filling her with dread.

But she gritted her teeth and flicked her wings down in a way that made her spin, before bringing her golden axe down on its head—

Schkkk!

The axe dug deep into its skull, turning its head to rubble. But before she could even catch her breath, a mud bullet slammed into her wing, sending her down.

She landed hard on the floor, tasting blood in her mouth.

"Those damn bastards!" Olivia cursed as she got up on shaky feet, her chest rising and falling with exhaustion.

But as she stood up, Olivia found herself surrounded by crimson eyes. Four golems had cornered her on all sides, their legs raised high to crush her.

"How dare you treat me like a bug?!" She yelled as blood drifted down her face.

"I am Olivia Harrow!" She launched herself right at their feet, and then released a burst of lightning that drilled a hole right through them, allowing her to escape through the narrow hole.

Once she was at eye level, Olivia pointed her finger at one of the golems. She felt her insides burn as lightning surged through her body.

Every single aspect of her was charged, from her skin, to her bones, even down to her very blood cells—

Each of them raged with caged lightning, which she unleashed a second later.

"Lightning steam!"

Swish—Bang!

The thin steam of lightning obliterated the head of the first golem, but Olivia did not stop there. She moved her finger, bursting the heads of the other golems as well.

Olivia heaved a breath, feeling as though her muscles would burst at any second. Since she always used her body as a conductor, it always felt as though she had been put through fire each time she used that skill.

But she laughed as she stared at the corpses.

"Ha! That is what you get for underestimating me!" She scoffed, before glaring at the mud golems.

"You guys are next!"

But the next thing she saw was more than enough to steal her joy.

[Esau is bleeding. His health will continually be depleted over time]

[Esau’s health is at 50%! All stats will be affected!]

Olivia’s eyes widened. "What the hell is he doing?"

She turned around to search for him, only to realize her mistake nearly a second later. In that time where she looked away from her enemies—

She had given them the opening they needed.

"Keh—!"

Olivia suddenly coughed blood as multiple projectiles sung into her back, causing crippling pain to surge through her body.

She fell down from the sky like a broken plane.

[Golem Refresh Initiated!]

And just as she landed, the large foot of a golem came down upon her—
