Chapter 64: Meet Me In The Car

Before I could fire back another mental retort, the heavy double doors of the executive suite swung open.

Yerin practically bounded into the office like a hyperactive puppy, her dark eyes sparkling behind her glasses, while Sarah walked in smoothly behind her, carrying two steaming cups of coffee from the VIP staff lounge.

"Seth!!" Yerin gasped, rushing over and dropping onto my lap on the leather sofa, wrapping her arms around my neck without a second of hesitation. "Tell me you have good news! Did you manage to write anything? Or do I have to prepare myself to sing ’One, Two, Three, Four’ on live international television?"

I let out an amused laugh, wrapping one hand around her waist to steady her while my other hand rested lightly on her thigh. "Relax, goblin. Have a little faith in your boyfriend."

I tapped the notepad resting on the coffee table, showing her the two handwritten, meticulously structured lyric sheets.

"Two complete songs," I said with a grin, looking up at her. "The first one is called Where You Are—it’s a quiet, personal track. The second one is When the Lights Go Down, designed specifically as your farewell anthem for the fans."

Yerin blinked, her mouth dropping open in shock. She quickly reached down, grabbing the notepad and pulling it close to her face.

Sarah walked over, setting one of the coffee cups on the table before leaning over the back of the sofa to read the handwritten sheets over Yerin’s shoulder.

For the next three minutes, the room fell into stunned silence.

As Yerin scanned the lines of Where You Are, her eyes widened, and a rosy blush slowly spread across her cheeks. She recognized the subtle, intimate references instantly, the quiet nights, the contrast between ’Nova,’ the pop icon, and the chaotic girl who loved eating snacks in my bed.

Then, as both she and Sarah moved on to read When the Lights Go Down, the atmosphere in the room shifted entirely.

"When the lights go down, don’t think I’m saying goodbye... I’ll be somewhere beneath the same moon, looking at the same sky."

Sarah let out a soft breath, her sharp eyes staring at the paper with unfiltered astonishment. "Seth... did you... did you actually write these yourself? In less than two hours?"

"Yeah,’ I chuckled, rubbing the back of my neck casually. "I told you, I used to write a bit of poetry back when I worked kitchen shifts. I just listened to the instrumental tracks you sent and wrote what felt right."

"What felt right?!" Sarah repeated, shaking her head in disbelief as she pushed her glasses up her nose. "Seth, these aren’t just ’decent’ lyrics, these are absolute masterpieces! The emotional arc in When the Lights Go Down is going to have thousands of people in the stadium weeping! It’s the perfect farewell statement for Nova’s career."

She shot a pointed, amused look at Yerin. "And as for the first track... well, I think someone here is about to burst from sheer romantic overload."

I looked down at Yerin. The pop star was staring at the paper, her lower lip trembling slightly, her dark eyes shimmering with tears.

"Seth..." Yerin whispered, her voice thick with emotion. She dropped the notepad onto the cushion, turned completely toward me, and threw her arms around my neck, burying her face in my shoulder with an overwhelming, clingy squeeze. "I love it... I love them so, so much! They’re so beautiful!!"

"I’m glad you like them, babe," I said warmly, stroking her back gently. Seriously, this girl was so cute.

Yerin pulled back slightly, looking down at me with flushed cheeks and starry eyes. Driven by sheer affection, she leaned down and pressed her lips against mine, kissing me with passionate intensity as her petite body trembled against mine.

"Mmm..." I hummed into the kiss, my hands naturally sliding down her back to rest firmly against the plush, soft curve of her waist, pulling her flush against my chest.

Across the coffee table, Sarah let out a subtle, amused throat-clear, though a faint smile rested on her lips as she watched us. "Alright, alright, break it up, lovebirds. We still have a concert to produce."

"Yerin reluctantly broke the kiss, resting her forehead against mine with a sweet, breathless giggle, her cheeks burning bright red. "You’re the absolute best boyfriend in the entire world, Seth..."

"I try my best," I said with a grin, giving her waist a playful squeeze that made her squeak softly before she slid off my lap.

Sarah picked up the lyric sheets, handling them as if they were made of pure gold, and looked at me with a mix of respect and lingering fascination. "I’m going to take these directly to the sound director and vocal coaches right now so we can integrate them into today’s rehearsal schedule. Seth... I honestly don’t know how to thank you. You just single-handedly saved our entire production."

"Don’t worry about it, Sarah," I said smoothly, leaning back against the leather sofa with a relaxed smile. "Just make sure my girlfriend gets enough rest and doesn’t stress herself out before the big night."

"Deal," Sarah said warmly, shooting me an appreciative glance before turning toward the door. "Come on, Yerin. Time to go show the vocal team what a real anthem looks like."

"Coming!" Yerin cheered, blowing me a kiss over her shoulder as she rushed out the door behind her manager. "See you later, Seth!"

The heavy double doors closed once again, leaving me sitting in the quiet office.

Leaning back against the sofa cushions, I stretched my arms out, a completely satisfied smile resting on my lips as I took a sip of the warm coffee Sarah had left for me.

[Fufufu~] Paige’s voice purred softly in my mind. [A saved concert, an overjoyed girlfriend, and an extremely impressed hot manager... Not bad for a day’s work, Host!]

"Not bad at all, Paige," I chuckled, taking another sip of coffee. "Not bad at all."

Right then, I got a message on my phone. Curious, I opened it and my lips twitched the moment I read those words.

"We’ll have some in the fun later. Get your dick ready, babe."
