Chapter 478 - 319: Getting Married? I’m Not Prepared! Should We Rehearse?
"Where did you hear that term?"
Lucia paused their game of chess, turning to look at Su Xuan in confusion.
She could hardly believe that he was the one to say it.
"From a Giant Dragon." Su Xuan shrugged, then pressed further, "So, you know about a Divine Format exchange? Is it really possible?"
"Yes!"
Lucia answered without a moment’s hesitation. Su Xuan could even see a flicker of determination in her eyes!
It was as if she’d had a similar experience in her past, one concerning... her own Divine Format.
"Even two diametrically opposed Divine Formats can be exchanged?" Su Xuan asked in disbelief. This was clearly beyond his comprehension.
"Of course!"
With a light wave of her hand, Lucia made the chess set on the table vanish without a trace.
She then turned to face him and said seriously, "As long as the two parties exchanging Divine Formats are of one mind, and the two Divine Formats also accept one another, then the exchange can be accomplished."
"..."
Su Xuan listened with rapt attention, his mind reeling. The idea of exchanging a Divine Format was still a shock to him.
"Is this about Mare Rhine?"
Lucia’s gaze swept across Su Xuan’s bedroom for a moment, and she instantly realized that Mare Rhine must be the Demigod who had undergone the exchange.
"Yes." Su Xuan confirmed her suspicion. "Two Giant Dragons exchanged the Divine Formats of Life and Destruction."
"Life and Destruction?" A flash of unconcealable surprise appeared in Lucia’s eyes when she heard the names of the two Traits.
However, she quickly composed herself and offered a thoughtful analysis. "Those two Divine Formats may seem to be diametrically opposed, but they actually share a symbiotic logic. It’s just that this symbiosis manifests more on the level of Power."
"I don’t know the specifics of what happened to Miss Reine, but for thousands of years, she has appeared as the Destructive Giant Dragon, and the Divine Format of Destruction has accepted her. Perhaps, for her, the Divine Format of Destruction is her true calling." Lucia shrugged lightly and continued to elaborate, "A Divine Format, while not a living entity, represents the pinnacle of Law Power. If a being cannot earn its recognition, they can never claim it as their own."
"I see..." After hearing Lucia’s explanation, Su Xuan had a much clearer understanding of the Divine Format.
In the hierarchy of the Magic Continent, a Divine Format was the key to joining the ranks of the Gods. It represented the right to challenge for a Divine Position.
However, after obtaining a Divine Format, there were generally two outcomes:
First, if the challenge for the Divine Position was successful, the individual would ascend to become a True God, gaining supreme Power and status.
Second, if the challenge failed, the Demigod would be left with a Divine Format but no Divine Position. They would not be a True God, but rather a Pseudo-God.
Although they might get another chance to challenge for a Divine Position in the future, as long as they lacked one, they remained a Pseudo-God—a deity existing outside the Law.
While Pseudo-Gods were not True Gods, their Power was not to be underestimated. In some situations, they could even threaten the existence of a True God.
"If you need my help with anything, all you have to do is ask." Lucia paused for a moment before adding, "No matter what it is, as long as it’s within my power, I’ll do my best for you."
"I appreciate the offer, Lucia," Su Xuan replied with a smile. He then picked up the coffee Alice had prepared for him, took a small sip, and began to focus on handling the Guild’s affairs.
Tomorrow was moving day, and he expected to be busy until evening before everything was settled.
Therefore, he had to get all the Guild’s affairs in perfect order before the move.
"You..."
Lucia was taken aback, a little surprised by Su Xuan’s reaction.
After all, he knew now that she was the Pope.
’With a powerful being close to the level of a god right beside him, wouldn’t any normal person choose to cozy up to her?’
But Su Xuan wasn’t like that. He maintained the same attitude as always, as if he had never learned of her identity, showing no increased reliance or change in behavior.
This made Lucia wonder: ’Does he really not care about my status?’
Her delicate brow furrowed as her gaze swept over Su Xuan.
She had mixed feelings about it. She wanted Su Xuan to rely on her more, to become her one and only...
Before he knew it, it was the middle of the night.
Lucia and her party had left long ago, and Alice and the others had gone to bed early, leaving Su Xuan alone in the Guild hall.
Su Xuan rubbed his tired eyes. He had finished arranging all of tomorrow’s tasks.
Even if he couldn’t log in to the game while he was moving, the Guild would continue to run smoothly.
WHOOSH.
Su Xuan stood up, let out a long sigh, and prepared to log out of the game.
But just then, a familiar voice reached his ears.
"Still awake at this hour?"
"?"
Confused, Su Xuan turned his head, only to be surprised by the sight of Edith, who had appeared soundlessly behind him.
She was sitting primly on the sofa, holding the cup of coffee he had left half-finished, and took a delicate sip.
"What are you doing here?" Su Xuan asked Edith, a hint of surprise in his voice.
Edith set the cup down, elegantly crossed her long legs, and rested her cheek in her hand. Her brilliant red eyes gazed intently at Su Xuan as she smiled. "What? Am I not welcome?"
Su Xuan smiled back. "Of course you are."
