Chapter 473 - 316: The Elf Queen’s Gift! You Can’t Escape Now, Little Fellow
"She doesn’t want it?"
Su Xuan’s expression was one of surprise.
’I really don’t get it,’ he thought. ’If Edith doesn’t want this drop of Blood of the Elf Ancestors, why did she make it her condition?’
"She..."
The Elf Queen paused for a moment before speaking softly, "She asked me to give this drop of the Blood of the Elf Ancestors to you."
"To me?"
Su Xuan’s eyes widened, completely unable to comprehend Edith’s decision.
’He never would have dreamed that he would be the beneficiary of Edith’s condition.’
"That’s right." The Elf Queen nodded, her eyes also revealing confusion over Edith’s decision. "She wished for me to gift that drop of blood to you. I have never been able to understand her intentions."
Su Xuan gave an awkward laugh and admitted he didn’t understand Edith’s intentions either. "To be honest, I’m a little lost myself."
"And..."
The Elf Queen looked at him, a gentle light flashing in her eyes.
She gently reached out, her fingertips caressing Su Xuan’s cheek with a touch full of tender affection. "If you had asked for this drop of the Blood of the Elf Ancestors, I would not have refused you either."
"Er..."
Su Xuan was a bit taken aback by the Elf Queen’s words, feeling incredibly flattered.
Although, even now, he had no idea what this so-called Blood of the Elf Ancestors actually did.
The Elf Queen gently withdrew her delicate hand, a faint smile on her face as she said softly, "However, I cannot give you the Blood of the Elf Ancestors right now."
"I’m not in that much of a hurry." Su Xuan shook his head calmly, indicating he wasn’t desperate. He didn’t even have high expectations for the legendary blood.
"That is good, then," the Elf Queen said softly. She then gracefully walked to Su Xuan’s side and whispered in his ear, "It is not that I am holding back, but that the time is not yet right. When the time is ripe, I will naturally give it to you. Therefore, regarding this matter, please explain things to Lady Rose."
"Mhm."
Su Xuan agreed, though he was curious. ’For what reason did the Blood of the Elf Ancestors have to wait until a specific time to be handed over?’
"Thank you, little one."
The Elf Queen gently reached out a fingertip and tapped the tip of Su Xuan’s nose, as if bestowing a speck of starlight.
Then, she said softly, "I have many other matters to attend to, so I will not be able to entertain you personally."
As soon as she finished speaking, the palace doors slowly opened, and Alina strode in.
When her gaze fell upon Su Xuan, she glanced away quickly, a hint of imperceptible resentment in her eyes.
The Elf Queen turned to Alina and instructed her solemnly, "Alina, I want you to entertain President Su Xuan well in my stead. He is a distinguished guest of our Elf Race."
"As you command, Your Majesty!" Alina responded respectfully. She then turned to Su Xuan and said coolly, "President Su Xuan, please follow me."
Su Xuan followed Alina out of the Elf Queen’s palace.
Alina turned her head, a mischievous smile on her face as she teased, "If I heard correctly just now, was the Queen planning on giving you some kind of special gift?"
Su Xuan froze for a second, then looked at Alina in surprise. "You heard all that?" he asked, confused. He remembered there was supposed to be Magic in the palace that blocked Perception.
Alina waved her hand, a playful smile on her lips. "I was just guessing," she revealed cheekily.
Of course, she hadn’t heard anything. Besides, as the Princess of the Elf Race, how would she dare to eavesdrop on the Elf Queen’s conversations?
Su Xuan’s brow furrowed. It was obvious Alina had played him again!
Alina gently tapped her cheek with a fingertip, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Let me guess... Was the Queen going to give you a leaf from the Elf Mother Tree?"
"No." Su Xuan shook his head.
"An Elf Gemstone, then?"
"Not even close."
Alina continued to guess, a teasing glint in her eyes as she joked, "Don’t tell me it was the Queen’s personal underwear? That would certainly fit your... personal tastes."
"Wha—? How is that possible? Even if I liked that, there’s no way the Queen would give it to me!" Su Xuan was utterly dumbfounded by her words, as if he’d been struck by lightning.
’How could the Elf Queen possibly give that away?’
’No!’
’There’s no way I would ever ask the Elf Queen for something like that!’
"Not possible? Then what was the gift?" Seeing his reaction, the smile on Alina’s face deepened. She suddenly stopped walking, stared at Su Xuan earnestly, and asked softly, "She didn’t give me to you, did she?"
"..."
Upon hearing this even more bizarre suggestion, Su Xuan froze on the spot, silent.
His silence made Alina’s brows knit together. She began to suspect her guess might actually be true.
’Otherwise, why was Su Xuan’s reaction completely different from before?!’
Her panic didn’t escape Su Xuan’s notice. He smiled and said, "I didn’t want to accept, but the Queen insisted..."
"How boring!"
Alina rolled her eyes. Su Xuan’s answer had made it perfectly clear that her guess was impossible.
Besides, she had just been overthinking it.
As the Princess of the Elf Kingdom and the next heir to the throne, how could she possibly be given away to Su Xuan so easily?
Unless, of course, Su Xuan conquered the Elf Kingdom.
Once the Elf Queen became a slave beneath him, then that scene might be possible.
"Let’s go. Paslo and the others are waiting for us."
Alina immediately led Su Xuan toward the place where the Dark Elves were staying.
Because of the conflict between the Dark Elves and the Elves, they had been arranged to stay in a remote palace.
Few Elves ever came here; only a few Dark Elf guards could be seen on watch.
When the Dark Elves saw Su Xuan and Alina arrive, they immediately came forward to greet them.
"Lord Su Xuan, Princess Alina!" The Dark Elves’ voices held clear respect, a stark contrast to the hostility they had shown when they first met Su Xuan.
"We’re here to see Paslo," Alina told the Dark Elves.
"Please follow me." One of the Dark Elves immediately led the way for the two of them, taking them to where Paslo was.
Before long, Su Xuan and Alina were brought before Paslo.
But when Su Xuan saw Paslo’s condition, his brow furrowed.
Paslo was lying quietly on a Jade Bed, her eyes tightly shut as if she had fallen into a deep sleep.
Although Paslo’s breathing was steady, her body was emitting a faint silver glow, like a Star in the night sky.
"Paslo started showing these symptoms during the ritual with the Queen," Alina explained to Su Xuan. "The Queen wanted to help her, but she refused."
Su Xuan walked to the front of Paslo’s Jade Bed and asked, "Does she need to be sealed again, like last time?"
Just then, Paslo slowly opened her deep, dark-blue eyes. "You’re finally here, President Su Xuan."
Seeing Paslo struggle to sit up, Su Xuan immediately stopped her with a soft voice. "Stay down. I’ll help you suppress the seal."
"Mhm." Paslo obediently lay back down and waited quietly.
"The situation is a bit special this time. The Elf Kingdom doesn’t have any ready-made tools to suppress Paslo’s symptoms," Alina said to Su Xuan. "Therefore, you might need to... give a little more."
"What do you mean?"
Su Xuan froze for a moment when he heard that.
And in that instant, Alina took a few steps back. At the same time, the other Dark Elves in the room all filed out, closing the door tightly behind them.
"???"
This scene made Su Xuan’s brow furrow instantly, his heart filling with confusion.
’What’s going on?’
’What’s happening?’
Just as he was trying to figure it out, a pair of firm hands suddenly grabbed him tightly from behind.
At the same time, a gentle female voice, tinged with joy, came from behind him.
"Caught you~ my dear~"
