Chapter 472 - 316: The Elf Queen’s Gift! You Can’t Escape, Little Guy
"Help me..."
’Who are you?’
Su Xuan stood rooted to the spot. He was certain he had heard a voice.
And aside from him, the people around seemed completely unaware of that voice. Their faces showed no reaction. Clearly, only he had heard it.
"I am Mira Orri, the Giant Dragon who represents life. The one your Guild member, Mare Rhine, calls her archenemy~" the voice lazily rang out again, carrying a faint, teasing tone. "But in my eyes, our relationship isn’t one of simple nemeses. We’re... perhaps friends?"
Su Xuan was stunned by the sudden declaration, and a look of astonishment couldn’t help but appear on his face.
’So now I can be absolutely certain. The one sealed in that corpse is the Life Giant Dragon.’
’But it seems her opinion of their relationship is completely different from Mare Rhine’s?’
In Mare Rhine’s eyes, Mira Orri was her nemesis, an opponent she had to face and defeat. But in Mira Orri’s eyes, their relationship had a completely different definition—she saw Mare Rhine as... a friend?
"Is something wrong?" Lucia asked with concern, noticing something was off about Su Xuan.
"It’s nothing," Su Xuan replied, shaking his head. "Let’s head back."
He led the group back to the Elf Kingdom, but Mira Orri’s voice seemed to linger in his ear, impossible to shake.
"Did you know? Mare Rhine and I were actually born from the same egg. In a way, we’re sisters."
"But oh~ we just don’t get along. You know how awful her temper is~"
"She spends all day thinking about destroying the world. It’s a real headache for a Dragon..."
...
Before long, the group returned to the Elf Kingdom.
Su Xuan gave Alina a brief report on what happened in the cave, but he chose to keep Mira Orri’s existence a secret.
"So it wasn’t a clue about the Death Monarch after all? That’s a bit of a pity." Alina sighed softly, but her face didn’t betray much disappointment.
"Mm, that’s right." Su Xuan nodded, then said to Alina, "I hope the Elf Race will stay away from that cave and leave its handling entirely to me. Is that acceptable?"
The cave was no more than ten kilometers from the Elf Kingdom’s border. Other nations didn’t dare tread within that range, wary of the Elf Kingdom’s power.
Therefore, to ensure the cave’s secret wasn’t discovered by outsiders, all he needed was the Elf Kingdom’s consent.
Upon hearing this, Alina smiled and turned, her eyes scrutinizing Su Xuan. "It seems what’s in that cave is very important to you?"
"Yeah, you could say that," Su Xuan nodded, but he found it difficult to explain the cave’s situation to Alina outright.
"Well, in that case~ should I dispatch some Elves to help you stand guard?" Alina suggested with a smile.
"That won’t be necessary." Su Xuan shook his head. The cave was suffused with an Aura of Death, so it wasn’t as if someone could just waltz in.
"Oh, really?" Alina seemed a bit surprised by Su Xuan’s answer, but she quickly pressed, "Then would you mind if I went to explore it myself?"
Seeing the curiosity sparkling in Alina’s eyes, Su Xuan smiled and shrugged. "Be my guest."
He knew she was just kidding.
"How boring!"
Alina rolled her eyes, clearly displeased that Su Xuan had seen right through her little ploy.
The two of them soon arrived before the Elf Queen’s Palace. Alina said to Su Xuan, "The Queen is waiting for you inside. She has something to tell you."
"The Queen?" Su Xuan was surprised. He had thought the main reason for their return was to deal with Paslo’s situation.
"I don’t know why the Queen wants to see you, either." Alina shrugged, a teasing smile on her face. "Maybe it’s because a guy like you is such a flirt~"
"After the Queen is finished using you, come find me~ We’ll go help Paslo reinforce the seal together."
"Using?"
Su Xuan was taken aback by Alina’s choice of words, but his thoughts were immediately interrupted by the sound of the great doors to the Elf Queen’s Palace swinging open.
He looked up to see the elegant and perfect figure of the Elf Queen appear in the doorway. She smiled and beckoned to him. "President Su Xuan, come in. I have something to discuss with you."
Su Xuan glanced at Alina, then walked into the palace.
As he entered the palace, the great doors slowly swung shut behind him.
Su Xuan and the Elf Queen were the only two people in the entire palace. This left him confused, as he didn’t understand what the Elf Queen’s intentions were.
"I’ve met with her~"
The Elf Queen walked toward Su Xuan, her face wreathed in smiles, seemingly very satisfied with the outcome of her conversation.
"Has the Queen made her decision?"
Su Xuan asked the Elf Queen curiously.
He was quite interested in the conversation between Edith and the Elf Queen.
"More or less~"
The Elf Queen nodded gently, her tone soft. "I agreed to her conditions, but there was one matter on which we did not reach a consensus."
"What matter was that?"
"She wanted me to give up a drop of the Blood of the Elf Ancestors, which is an extremely precious treasure for the Elf Race," the Elf Queen explained to Su Xuan.
"And the Queen doesn’t want to hand over this drop of the Blood of the Elf Ancestors?" Su Xuan asked curiously.
"No~"
The Elf Queen shook her head and continued to explain, "I am willing to give up this drop of the Blood of the Elf Ancestors. But Lady Rose proposed a condition that I found rather surprising. She doesn’t want the blood for herself."
