Yun Sheng’s scalp prickled under their gaze, her limbs stiffening.

What really set off alarm bells in her mind was that these two ferocious beasts had previously shrunk down in front of her, acting completely cute and cuddly.

They were both staring at her now. ’Don’t tell me... in the next second, they’re going to shrink down, pounce on me, and start nuzzling me in front of everyone?!’

This absurd, yet highly possible, thought made Yun Sheng break out in a cold sweat.

She subconsciously glanced outside the courtyard.

The intense fluctuation of spiritual power and the resulting commotion had startled many residents in the neighborhood. They rushed out of their homes or stood on their balconies and by their windows, gaping in shock at the unbelievable sight in the sky.

They were pointing and murmuring amongst themselves.

Yun Sheng could even feel several curious, probing gazes being cast toward the Lin Family Villa from various directions!

’I absolutely cannot draw any attention!’

Just as Yun Sheng was burning with anxiety, wishing she could hide back inside the house, she discovered to her horror that the figures of the two giant beasts in the sky were actually starting to waver, contract, and show signs of shrinking.

Heavens!

’Are they really planning to change into their "pet" forms and charge over here?!’

Yun Sheng’s heart pounded wildly. She widened her eyes and, looking toward the sky, opened her mouth to form silent, forceful words.

"Don’t you dare shrink! Leave immediately! Stay away!!!"

Her face was sterner and more urgent than ever before, her cheeks even flushing slightly from the tension and effort.

Stared down so "fiercely" by Yun Sheng, the two top-tier ferocious beasts in the sky, who had been just about to shrink, both froze in unison once again!

A flicker of astonishment crossed the majestic eyes of the Holy Light White Tiger, and for a moment, its glow seemed to dim.

The Abyssal Giant Wolf’s reaction was more direct. It narrowed its eyes and let out a low, almost dissatisfied grumble from its throat.

Nevertheless, its massive body obediently stopped shrinking, and the tip of its tail twitched with agitation.

The two giant beasts had actually... stopped shrinking because of Yun Sheng’s silent "rebuke."

They didn’t move any closer, but they didn’t leave immediately either. They simply faced off against each other warily, their gazes occasionally darting toward Yun Sheng.

The Holy Light White Tiger slightly adjusted its posture, making its silvery-white body appear even more holy and radiant in the sunlight, as if silently showing off how "handsome" and "reliable" it was.

Not to be outdone, the Abyssal Giant Wolf’s surrounding cerulean flames burned a little brighter. Its sapphire eyes seemed to say: ’Look at me! I’m stronger than that stupid tiger!’

This bizarre scene caused the onlookers, who had been stupefied with shock, to burst into even more fervent discussion.

"Isn’t that White Tiger the White War God’s spiritual body? Could the White War God be here?"

"The other one looks really familiar, too..."

"Wait... look! It looks like they’re... looking in the direction of the Lin Family?"

"The Lin Family? You mean Miss Lin Yueyao’s home? Could it be because of Miss Lin..."

"No! They’re looking at that daughter the Lin Family just took back! Yun Sheng!"

"My god, what in the world is going on?!"

All kinds of gazes—shocked, probing, and even a little fearful—landed on Yun Sheng like a spotlight.

Just then, Su Wan also chased after her from inside the house. She grabbed Yun Sheng’s arm, her voice trembling slightly with nervousness.

"Shengsheng, it’s too dangerous out here! Quick, come back inside with me! This isn’t something we can get involved in!"

Yun Sheng stumbled as Su Wan pulled her, but she didn’t obediently turn to go back inside.

Her gaze remained locked on the two giant beasts facing off in the sky, her heart beating even faster from the focused stares of the crowd and Su Wan’s tugging.

She knew Su Wan was right. Staying here would only make her the center of attention and lead to endless speculation and trouble.

But she couldn’t just walk away and leave things like this!

If these two big guys weren’t "handled" properly, heaven knows what they would do next...

Yun Sheng didn’t have time to explain to Su Wan. She looked up at the two ferocious beasts again and gestured with her eyes toward the entrance of the neighborhood.

"Go," she mouthed silently.

The Holy Light White Tiger and the Abyssal Giant Wolf seemed to understand her.

The White Tiger let out a reluctant snort, but its massive body still turned. A silver light flowed around it as it flew off in a direction away from the crowd.

But after flying a short distance, it glanced back at Yun Sheng one more time, its eyes full of grievance.

The giant wolf was much more decisive. Its cerulean eyes gave Yun Sheng one last, deep "look."

Then, it transformed into a black shadow, swiftly melting into the shadows of the distant buildings and vanishing from sight.

With the departure of the two ferocious beasts, the suffocating pressure in the air finally dissipated.

Yun Sheng secretly breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a layer of cold sweat on her back.

"It looks like they’re gone, Madam. Let’s hurry inside."

She turned and spoke to Su Wan, who was still in a state of shock and confusion. Her expression was calm again, as if the heart-pounding scene from moments ago had nothing to do with her.

But unseen by anyone, the fingertips of her hand, hanging at her side, were trembling uncontrollably, betraying an inner turmoil that was far from her calm facade.

The trouble seemed to be getting bigger and bigger.

Su Wan let Yun Sheng pull her, following her back into the house in a daze.

Not until the main door closed, shutting out the probing gazes and faint murmurs from outside, did she seem to finally find her voice.

She grabbed Yun Sheng’s hand, her voice filled with unabated terror and lingering fear.

"Shengsheng! Just now... what in the world was that just now? Why did it seem like... like both of those spiritual bodies were looking at you?"

"I don’t know either, Madam. Maybe... two High-level Sentinels just happened to have a conflict near us? As for them looking at me... it must have been a coincidence."

"But..." Su Wan still seemed doubtful and unsettled.

DING DONG.

At that moment, the clear chime of the doorbell rang out abruptly in the living room.

Su Wan and Yun Sheng both froze, instinctively looking toward the front door.

’Who could it be at a time like this?’

Su Wan composed her expression and walked over to open the door.

The person standing outside the door made her freeze instinctively.

"Ah Ye, you... what are you doing here?"

Standing outside the door was, indeed, Bai Ye.

He was dressed in a white Star Alliance military uniform. At the moment, however, the normally crisp, clean, and spotless uniform had several faint wrinkles, and there was even a small, scorched black mark on his cuff.

His cold, handsome face was still perfect, but a few strands of jet-black hair had escaped their usual neatness. They fell casually beside his brow bone, adding a sharp, intimidating edge that he rarely ever showed.

On Bai Ye, who was at all other times the very picture of perfection, these minuscule details were already sending an unusual signal.

The moment the door opened, Yun Sheng saw Bai Ye. Her heart sank, and she had the conditioned reflex to immediately turn and bolt upstairs.

’Speak of the devil!’

’This guy just finished fighting Si Jin, and now he shows up at the door. What good could possibly come of this?!’
