Chapter 128: Escort the Giant Baby Out
Vincent Holt was about to go insane with rage. Beverly Lynch’s success was maddening enough, but her ridicule made him lose face completely!
"So what if you made some money? Your shop still closed down! Haha, you failed!"
Beverly Lynch looked at him like he was an idiot. "I closed the shop to quit while I was ahead. The market was flooded with copycats, so there was no money to be made if I continued. Ever hear of cutting your losses? I have other investments that are doing quite well, but of course, I’m not going to tell you about those."
"Jumping from one thing to another like that is no long-term strategy!" Vincent Holt gritted his teeth so hard his molars nearly cracked.
Jane Lancaster deliberately twisted the knife. "That’s fine. She’s gained experience, which is perfect for when she takes over The Lynch Group."
She smiled. "Then she’ll be negotiating business with Zion on equal footing."
Vincent Holt froze. He couldn’t even imagine a scene where Beverly Lynch was negotiating with Caleb Lowell.
It felt as if his own ideal was being tarnished.
"You’re lying! Your dad already found Jasper Sterling as a marriage partner for you! The Lynch Group will definitely be handed over to Jasper Sterling in the future!" Vincent Holt roared, his eyes red with rage.
Luna Morgan tugged at him worriedly, whispering for him to stop, but Vincent Holt shook her hand off.
Beverly Lynch retorted, "Are you nuts? When did my dad ever say I was going to marry Jasper Sterling?"
A glint flashed in Vincent Holt’s eyes, filled with malice. "Don’t be shy, just admit it. I heard you broke up with your little boy toy recently. Isn’t it because you can’t wait to suck up to Jasper Sterling?"
Pauline Shaw was taken aback for a moment. ’Beverly Lynch broke up with her boy toy? Weren’t they head over heels for each other?’
’But if it was for Jasper Sterling... then it wouldn’t be surprising.’
"So that’s how it is." She hadn’t planned on getting involved, but Beverly Lynch had attacked her before. "I think I heard that rumor too."
"Pauline Shaw, please shut your mouth," Beverly Lynch said calmly, turning her head.
Then she looked back at Vincent Holt. "You’re only desperately attacking me over my relationships because you’re triggered. But I’ll take pity on you and let it slide."
This only made Vincent Holt more smug. "When have you ever been this agreeable, Beverly Lynch? You don’t dare argue with me because you have a guilty conscience, right? Actually, you don’t have to be like this. Jasper Sterling might not like being a cuckold."
After speaking, he even turned to the onlookers. "To all the gentlemen present, do any of you like being a cuckold or picking up another man’s sloppy seconds?"
’Beverly Lynch played around with a boy toy, so isn’t she just used goods? What right does she have to talk down to me?’
The men he addressed all shook their heads.
Even the women watching didn’t dare speak up for Beverly Lynch. What if they were attacked as "sloppy seconds" too?
Beverly Lynch was so furious she could spit blood. She walked over to him. "You, come with me."
’She was done with this banquet. No matter what, she had to drag this bastard out and beat him up!’
Vincent Holt said with a smug grin, "Hey, I wasn’t talking about you. Why are you so mad? Alright everyone, let’s have a drink."
Beverly Lynch tried to grab him, but he deliberately led her toward the dessert table. When Beverly reached for him again, he dodged and yanked the tablecloth at the same time.
With a loud CRASH, all the dessert plates on top came tumbling down.
Beverly Lynch’s quick reflexes allowed her to grab the wall and keep from falling.
Vincent Holt said with exaggerated drama, "Why did you flip the dessert table on purpose? Are you trying to ruin the party?"
"It wasn’t me, it was you!" Beverly Lynch’s eyes widened. ’This man is too shameless! How could he turn around and blame me?’
"If you hadn’t tried to grab me, would I have needed to dodge? Today is a joyous occasion! Sister-in-law, look how unreasonable she is!" Vincent Holt turned to complain to Jane Lancaster.
Although he’d had some friction with Jane Lancaster before, he was the one who had come out on the losing end. ’As the one who got the upper hand, Jane should be magnanimous and not hold a grudge.’
’Besides, things were different now. What was a little conflict between relatives compared to the rivalry between romantic competitors?’
’Jane Lancaster should just go with the flow, kick Beverly Lynch out, vent her frustrations, and earn his favor in the process.’
Beverly Lynch clenched her fists and took a deep breath.
She knew in her heart that when it came to family ties, she couldn’t possibly compare to Vincent Holt.
She made a mental note to get even with him later. Just as she was about to turn and leave, she heard Jane Lancaster’s inner voice.
’He’s so vile. The stench of a scumbag has marinated him to the bone. It’s overwhelming.’
’Beverly Lynch is holding back her temper today because she doesn’t want to ruin the party, right?’
Fortunately, Jane Lancaster was already experienced in dealing with scoundrels like this.
Two bodyguards stepped out from the crowd. "Mr. Holt, causing a disturbance is prohibited here. Please leave."
Vincent Holt was dumbfounded. Why were they asking *him* to leave?
"Are you two blind? She’s the one causing trouble!"
He subconsciously glanced around. ’Has Caleb Lowell arrived?’
Because he recognized these two men. Not only him, but everyone present recognized them, because they were Caleb Lowell’s bodyguards.
Jane Lancaster said, "They aren’t blind. You were the one shouting, you were the one cursing, and you were the one who ruined the dessert table. If there’s a disruptive element here, it’s definitely you. So please, leave."
After a pause, she kindly explained, "Zion isn’t here yet. He assigned these bodyguards to me."
Vincent Holt was shocked!
He was shocked not only that Caleb Lowell had actually assigned his bodyguards to Jane Lancaster, but even more shocked that she actually dared to make him leave!
"Jane Lancaster, are you insane? My grandmother is Zion’s own grandaunt! I am Zion’s closest relative! Is your relationship with *her* closer than your relationship with *me*?"
’You’d better figure out just who you’ll be relying on in the future.’
Jane Lancaster replied, "It is precisely because I am your future sister-in-law that I have a duty to teach you how to be a decent person."
Vincent Holt was livid. How dare she be so shameless as to use her status as his sister-in-law to pressure him?
Clayton Lowell heard the argument from a distance, and as soon as he heard it involved Jane Lancaster, he immediately pushed his way through the crowd.
He understood the situation at a glance. ’She was borrowing Caleb Lowell’s bodyguards to throw her weight around.’
"Jane, what’s going on here? Why aren’t you protecting your own cousin? Why are you helping an outsider bully him?"
’Jane Lancaster’s enemy is my friend.’
He patted Vincent Holt’s shoulder with feigned affection. "Vincent, don’t be afraid. Your uncle will absolutely back you up."
Jane Lancaster couldn’t help but ask, "How old are you, and how old is he?"
Clayton Lowell sensed the hidden meaning in her words and immediately said, "So what? As an elder, in my eyes, Vincent is still a child."
"Yes, a 300-month-old giant baby," Jane Lancaster said calmly. "Please escort the giant baby out."
The two bodyguards immediately moved to restrain Vincent Holt.
Vincent Holt panicked. "Uncle!"
Seeing things were going wrong, Clayton Lowell quickly blocked them. "No, I don’t agree! We’re all family! How am I supposed to explain this to Caleb Lowell’s grandaunt!"
’Since they were Caleb Lowell’s men, they surely wouldn’t obey Jane Lancaster completely.’
He stood in their way, refusing to move, certain the two bodyguards wouldn’t dare lay a hand on him.
"If you have the guts, throw me out too!" Clayton Lowell roared at the two bodyguards.
Although he was yelling at the bodyguards, everyone could tell he was threatening Jane Lancaster.
’Threatening me? Fine by me. The one thing I’m not afraid of is being threatened.’
