Chapter 237: Ch-237: Map?

"Yes!" Amber pumped her fist upward with joy. She was already planning to go on a small road and kill a few nobles or scum with her charm and advance to the next tier.
As Victor was watching Amber almost jumping with joy, a notification appeared, which made his brows jump to his forehead.

[Quest: Find the way to the world of devils and demons]
[Description: Use the map to locate the entrance to the planet of devils and demons]
[Reward: ???]
"Huh?" Victor was dumbfounded by the sudden quest, and his eyebrows rose as he mumbled, "World of demons and devils?"
Victor frowned, and then a small glow appeared in the palm of his hand as a small scroll appeared. He looked at it and said, "This must be the map the Records gave me."
Then, without delay, he unrolled the scroll, and in front of him was a very familiar map which he had seen all his life, and he exclaimed in shock, "Holy, isn’t this the map of Earth? Don’t tell me that Earth and the world of demons and devils are somehow linked."
Victor’s eyes widened in shock as he broke out into a cold sweat. In his previous life, before his regression, he had never heard of devils or demons invading Earth. Just thinking about devils running rampant on Earth and turning the humans of Earth into livestock gave him a chill down his spine. He knew the current Earth was really weak and could not possibly have any means of resistance and could only accept their fate.
Victor then quickly scanned the map and saw a small X on the map. "This must be the place where the entrance is... but why does this location seem familiar?"
Victor frowned as he looked closely at the place where the X mark was, and he still could not remember where he had seen this place. The map did not help much, as there were no names of places, but just the shape of the place on the map.
"Darling, what’s this map?" Amber walked toward Victor with a smile and a look of excitement.
He looked at Amber calmly and said in a neutral voice, "Amber, have you forgotten something?"
"What?" Amber frowned, hearing Victor’s tone. He shook his head and pointed at the distance.
She followed his finger and cursed, "Damn, I forgot."
Amber’s eyes widened as she saw the devil Selena she had just killed had turned into an undead.
"Shit," Amanda also cursed as she saw the undead just a few meters away from her, with her fist ready to squash her head like a watermelon.
She instinctively closed her eyes, but even after a few seconds had passed, she did not feel any pain. She opened her eyes and saw Victor had appeared right beside her and was holding the undead by the head. Then, with an indifferent look, flames erupted from his palm, reducing the undead to cinders.
Amanda snapped out of her daze and looked at Victor gratefully. "Thank you."
"It’s fine, but you should be cautious," Victor said with a charming smile, and for some reason, she felt heat rise to her cheeks.

Looking at the scene inside the base as the group stopped inside, Eleanor, who had never seen such a scene, could not help but yell out sharply, "Those damn devils are really cruel!"
Rina’s face was pale as she had turned pale in fright, and she seemed to want to puke. Looking at the scene, she couldn’t help but cover her mouth as she stared in shock at the ground; it was only now that she understood how cruel the devils were, and she regretted not catching a few devils and slowly torturing them to death. Even that could not wash away the sins they had committed.
The giant gate was wide open, as if inviting them to enter. After confirming that there were no traps hidden underground, Victor led the troops... but when they saw the scene beyond the walls, they all froze in their tracks.
Leaving aside the fact that the entire city inside the walls had been destroyed to the point where it would probably be easier to build everything from the ground up instead of trying to reuse it, what made the blood of the Silvernum troops boil was that at the front of the base, and as if whoever put them there was afraid the enemy troops would not find them, was a small mountain of what appeared to be at least 2,000 corpses piled up.
There were young men who looked like they had been tortured in the worst possible ways, children of both genders, but most of all, there were women. Each and every woman, regardless of age, had clearly been brutalized, humiliated, and finally killed with a slit throat.
Looking at the expressions of horror and pleading still imprinted on the faces of his slain compatriots, Amanda’s beautiful face contracted fiercely as she let out a furious roar like that of a lion.
"Fucking heartless animals!!!"
As if that was the sign of something, all the people who had just woken up from their shock immediately started shouting all sorts of curses at the top of their lungs. The craziest ones directly broke formation and, as if possessed by something, rode their Mechs through all corners of the city in search of any devils and devil contractors.
Victor, unlike the others and even Amber, who had seen similar scenes, had a look of detachment and indifference in their eyes as they looked at the scene in front of them. They had also killed thousands of humans, but they did not show such cruelty toward innocent civilians, and beneath their calm surface was a towering rage, especially Victor, who vowed inwardly, ’Just wait. I will go to your world and perform a massacre.’
"Sigh, gather all the survivors. I can feel many are still being held underground... This is the nature of devils. We cannot change it," Victor said.
30 minutes later
In an open ground, there were at least a few thousand men, women, and children who were shaking in fear as they looked at the army surrounding them, but a few of them had a look of hope as they saw that many of the army were humans, among them being soldiers wearing uniforms of the royal army.
Victor stepped forward, and everyone’s eyes turned toward him as he spoke. "Everyone, we have killed all the devils and their servants, and now the city is under the joint authority of Princess Amanda and the Silvernum Nobility... We know you have been in an unimaginable situation, but I hope that you will gradually recover, and if you need anything, the soldiers will help you."
Victor said, and after his little speech, the survivors were in shock and burst into sobs of relief and joy.
"We are finally free!"
"Wahhh... the nightmare is over!"
Amanda sighed and then looked at Victor and said, "You can take the city, but I am taking the people under my protection. They are the citizens of my kingdom."
Victor just nodded, as he did not have any objections.
Earth, Victor’s Mansion
"Holy shit, I can’t believe I am in a different world!" Rina, who had just emerged from the portal, looked at the row of Silvernum guards as her eyes darted everywhere with excitement.
Victor had emerged from the portal along with Amber and looked amused as he stared at his second wife, who was almost jumping with excitement. He had brought Rina along this time with them.
"Calm down, Rina," Victor said calmly, but Rina retorted, "How can I be calm? I am in a different world... I never imagined in my life that I could visit a brand-new world in my lifetime."
"Let’s go up," Victor said as he walked past the guards, who bowed toward them.
"Miss Rina, welcome." As soon as they went to the living room, they were greeted by Edward, who did not look overly surprised.
"I am going to explore," Rina said without waiting for Victor’s reply.
Just as Victor was about to follow her, something playing on the television caught his attention.
"The World Awakeners Academy will officially open in a few days, and Awakeners from all over the world are highly motivated to get stronger due to the recent invasion, and thousands of Awakeners all over the world are rushing toward the academy," a woman said, but Victor did not pay attention to the words of the woman. Instead, his eyes were fixated on the map of the World Awakeners Academy that was displayed behind the host. Even though it was not clear, Victor, with his enhanced senses, could see it.
"Why on heavens does the map of the Academy match the one I got?" Victor said while gaping at the screen.
