Extra's Path To Demon King

The Lich laughed in a malevolent glee. [Good, good, I assure you, I will torture your women right in front of your eyes; I will make the beasts violate your women while you can only watch.]

The instant Zabiur said that, a dark shadow fell upon the figure of Axel; the intensity of the sword rain gracing the Deathly Hollow increased unknowingly.

The Golden pattern of his runic eyes flashed with a trace of demonic red for a moment. He said, "Miss Sophia..."

Sophia whispered, wearing a smile that was not a smile, "Radiation Convergence...."

The countless attacks that Valkyrie had performed till now, all containing massive amounts of radiation, now converged right onto the pulsing nether core of the High-Lich.

Zabiur, who had almost recovered, was now hit by a power he did not understand, that struck his very core.

The Lich could not avoid an attack he could not sense; he could not dissolve an energy that could not be observed; he could not recover from something that could not be comprehended.

And that was the terror of the Valkyrie’s Radiation magic.

The Deathly Hollow in that moment was filled with dread; he could not defend against the rain of rune swords. Inch by inch, slowly but surely, all of his skeletal body was destroyed beyond repair.

Only its pulsing nether core remained, but the High-Lich was not finished; his entire body was rebuilt again at a moment’s notice right as the rain of swords was over.

Cracks spread through the blackened second layer of sky, where their battle was taking place.

But the Deathly Hollow did not start to fight back; rather, he immediately turned into a trail of darkness, fleeing the battlefield immediately, while leaving behind ominous words, "I will come back, and I will strike you the moment you least expect, Human mongrels."

But there was a price to reforming his body so fast, after receiving such grave attacks; in the end. The Lich could only sacrifice the last trace of his World Force, with a violent burst, to get rid of the Radiation magic’s effects.

Yet, as a result of that, his power level as a seeker dropped from quasi 5th phase to the previous peak 4th phase.

To the shock of the Deathly Hollow, right in front of its path of escape, the Valkyrie suddenly appeared in a flash.

She did not even use any fancy moves, but one single mighty kick, and the fleeing figure of the Deathly Hollow was shot back like a football being kicked in full force.

Axel grabbed the skull of the once mighty High-Lich; the sheer killing intent emanating from his figure could not simply be measured, almost reaching the same level of bloodlust as that of the Valkyrie herself.

He asked the Deathly Hollow, his voice unsettlingly chilling, "Sorry, what did you say? I couldn’t really hear you, can you repeat the words?"

Axel threw the skeletal body in the air, and using his sword like an axe, akin to a blunt weapon, he smashed it onto the High-Lich’s figure, only using his physical might, letting out his boundless rage.

Bang!!!

Baaanggg!!!

BANG!!!

BAAAAANGGG!!!

With each of the strikes, inch by inch, the skeletal body of the Deathly Hollow began to crumble into ashen dust. In comparison, the Lich could only howl in pain.

Eventually, the only thing left was the pulsing nether core of the High-Lich, which began to glow and dim in a violent rhythm.

A mocking laughter of the defeated undead echoed from the pulsing core, moments away from exploding, "AXEL NOMRAD, YOU CAN’T KILL ME. IN THE END, I WILL SIMPLY COME BACK STRONGER, AND NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES. I WILL MAKE MY WORDS COME TRUE."

But in that very instant, a twisted sneer appeared on the face of the absolute runecaster as he uttered, "Soul Pulse resonance..."

Soul Pulse was a powerful spiritual spell used by the continental organization named Arclight to send emergency messages over very long distances.

Back at the Unified Human Academy, when the forces of Zabiur attacked, Axel killed Taser Vex and the Arclight personnel who had helped him in that endeavor.

At that time, those spies of Arclight working within the academy grounds, at that moment before their death, tried to use this Soul Pulse spell to send the information back to their main headquarters within the Human Lands.

However, Axel had blocked it; from then on, he had been somewhat researching this spell, trying to decode it, to find other uses of this conceptual spell, which was far more powerful than it seemed on the surface.

And Axel had indeed found the right use for it.

Whenever an undead, mostly in the case of Lichs, is defeated or destroyed, it is practically impossible to truly kill them.

Because the main part of their soul always remains in their phalactory, hidden wherever it may be. When their half soul on the battlefield perishes.

That main soul within the Phalactory thus receives the energy from its half soul’s death and thereby replenishes and becomes complete once more.

Axel said coldly, "I think you’re misunderstanding something, Lich; you’re not getting out of here alive."

Axel activated his own created spell from the inspiration of Arclight’s Soul Pulse spell. The High-Lich’s soul shuddered; a wave of harrowing power seeped into it, but to its horror, the undead soul realized that nothing was happening to it.

Rather, the effects of that power which had seeped into the fragment soul were traveling towards the main soul through the link between this half soul and the main one.

In a matter of seconds, the soul pulse resonance spell somehow destroyed the main fragment of the Lich’s soul; as a result, the half soul within the battlefield now became Zabiur’s main soul.

Terror and Despair, unlike never before, flashed through Zabiur’s eyes.

Axel used his overflowing mental power to forcefully pull out the screeching soul from within the pulsing nether core; he hurriedly placed it into a special soul-capturing container that already held two other special souls.

Axel breathed in and out loudly; the 5x multiplier of his mind power by the five variable rune artifacts vanished.

He stammered as blood gushed out of his nose. His body really couldn’t handle it anymore. He also let go of the boost imposed by Heinz’s Calamity Warlord and Sword Brother titles.

Even the boost of power by the Runic array comprised of the countless rune weapons spread throughout the battlefield was now mostly gone.

Almost 30% of his peak battle prowess displayed against the High-Lich came from all the boosts combined; if not for that, in his state as a Runecaster, he naturally could not fight in the same caliber as Sophia, and by now even Lucien seemed much stronger than before.

Weakness spread through his entire body. Sophia rushed to his side and helped him stand. Axel did not even have the energy to keep standing, looking quite pale.

The Valkyrie tried to give him a healing potion, but Axel shook his head and rejected the kind gesture; his energy pathways were now in complete chaos; a healing potion might even make it far worse.
