Falling Mage and the Power of Divergence

Lesson 265: The Truth Ten Years Ago

"What happened to my parents?

When he heard that word of Seyya, Rona's face was already ready. That's something we'll have to talk about sooner or later, because no one is better suited than Rona to the person who tells Seyya the truth.

"Seiya. How far does your lord remember?

Once she took a big, deep breath, Rona asked Seiya the other way around.

"I know something happened ten years ago. But I don't know what it is."

Ten years ago. That is the day Seyya separated from her parents, and at the same time the day she lost most of her memory. And it was also the opening day of the fallen magician Christina-Saya.

Seyya remembers vividly from that day ten years ago. What I don't remember is before that, and what happened that day ten years ago.

"Right. Then we have to talk about what happened ten years ago."

Rona suggests we start talking when we get what she ordered because it's going to be a long story. And Saiya, who drank that suggestion, honestly waited for what she ordered to arrive.

And now, before Seyya and Rona, everything I ordered was in place. Rona began to open her heavy mouth when she included a sip of tea.

"Ten years ago, the concubines were fighting an enemy."

"Enemy?"

"Hmm. His name is again, but his concubines called him Noah."

"Noah......"

Seiya didn't sound familiar with that name, but I don't feel like I know why.

"Noah was a powerful magician, trying to destroy the world."

"The world? I've heard such stories..."

Seyya couldn't hide her surprise in the first story she heard. If there was a magician who tried to destroy the world, there would be some kind of record, regardless of the consequences. But instead of having heard such stories in Seyya's life, she doesn't even know about relevant events.

"That would be so. Because the Episcopal Church of Leiria doesn't know about Noah."

"Are you saying that the Seven Wise Men don't even know?

If even the Seven Wise Men at the top of Laylia don't know, then it's natural that Seyya never heard of them before.

"And even Dacrya knows only some people. That's the same for Leiria."

"Part of Dacrea? Is that my father?

"Bye. Keith took the lead and intercepted Noah."

I thought I knew I didn't even have to ask ahead. Seiya hesitated for a moment to stop listening there, but immediately dismisses the idea. Because I thought Seiya would regret it if I didn't hear the consequences, no matter what the other consequences were.

"How did it turn out?

"My concubine lost. Then we succeeded in sealing Noah's movements."

"Seal the motion? So you're still alive with that Noah thing?

"Probably."

Truth be told, Rona didn't even know whether Noah was cheap or not.

"So my parents are in Noah?

"No, I don't know that"

"What do you mean?

"The concubines got into a showdown with Noah, but they broke it off."

"They let you split up?

"Uhm. Then the concubine doesn't even know what happened to the two of them"

Lona bows her head adding "I'm sorry" to her confused seiya. The expression was full of colours of regret.

"The concubine was supposed to pick up Seyya after the showdown, but the concubine, who took a heavy toll in the battle, had been unconscious in that world the whole time."

"Were you unconscious?

"Mm-hmm. The concubine who survived the battle with Noah caged herself in her own world to escape his pursuit. And I lost consciousness, and I finally woke up on the visit of the Sayers the other day. So the concubine doesn't even know what happened to Keith and the others."

Seiya, who felt there was no lie or falsehood in Rona's words, bumped into another question.

"Then why is my memory missing?

"It's not the magic Keith hung to protect your Lord."

"To protect me?

I don't understand how protecting myself can lead to a lack of memory. Seiya can't hide her confusion.

"The Lord is a special being with the power of holiness and night. If Noah realizes the threat of the Lord, he will try to erase it before he grows and becomes an obstacle. The concubines had to protect it, but it was a bitter decision because they weren't sure they would win the showdown before. I think you've put a real hard time into this."

That was the real reason for Seyya's lack of memory. Until I heard it, there were all sorts of doubts about why the hell it was, but if I heard it, I wouldn't be offended.

"And the concubines lost. The concubine bears a deep hand, and Keith and the others are missing. As a magician who lost his memory, he ended up wandering."

Seyya didn't know who the hell Noah was that the strong guys like Rona and Keith couldn't beat in bundles.

"And Arthur and Gillanell in that battle?

"No, it was the concubine and Keith, and your Lord's mother, who came to the battle. The others are not participating."

"Why not?

Seiya could not understand why the other strong did not participate. As far as Arthurs' treatment of Seyya is concerned, it's a good thing he's in the fight against Noah.

To tell you the truth, the concubines were running away.

"Were you running away? From what?"

"From the Lord worshipped by the Holy Knights and Gilanelles"

"Lord? Were there still beings that bound the Arthurs"

Truth be told, Seyya had long doubted the existence of those who stood above Arthurs.

"You knew?

"Somehow."

"Right. Then talk fast. The Lord's purpose is to destroy Noah. And the concubines and Keith were also fighting under their Lord, but the concubines fled from it because of an affair."

"An incident?

"Lord, Seyya. Keith and the others wished to have a child between Keith and the Mother of the Lord. But his lord pressed him to give up his child because the showdown was near. Neither Keith nor the Lord's mother deserved it because of their invaluable power..."

I can guess without asking. In other words, Seyya's parents, who were forced by its Lord to give up their children, refused to let their children down and began living in a small town in Aquaristan.

"So the Ronas, who also isolated themselves from the Arthurs, went to Noah with the three of them?

You're right.

What an ironic story. Because his lords, who pressed Seyya's parents to give up their children, now rely on Seyya's power.

"Well, Keith and the others didn't regret it. You know that too, don't you, Seyya?

"Oh."

Saiya, whose memory is still vague, but this is all I could say for sure. That Seiya has no doubt that her parents grew up loving her. So Seiya doesn't hate anything about Rona or about the others. Whatever has happened in the past, because the love Seyya received from her parents is a truth that is not false.

"Thank you, Rona."

"Don't you resent your concubine?

"I was convinced to listen to what I was saying. Rona said bad things about the Arthurs to protect me, and she tried to lock me up in Rona's world to protect me, didn't she? And yet how can you resent Lorna?"

"Seiya......"

"And you didn't decide my parents were dead, either, did you?

Even though she knew that was a hopeless thing, Seyya wasn't willing to admit her parents' deaths until she was sure with her own eyes. Rona is surviving, so no wonder her parents are surviving.

So Seyya made a new readiness for determination.

"I fight Noah to find my father and mother. Will you cooperate, Rona?

"Of course not."

Lorna snorted in tears at Seyya's request.
