Falling Mage and the Power of Divergence

Episode 331: Mother and Child Reunion (Bottom)

Mother and child are to be reunited in unexpected ways. Because each was a sudden reunion with their own thoughts, there was a difference of food in each other's thoughts.

Now his mother Mocha, who came to this Avalon Island because she wanted to help her daughter. But my daughter Serena thinks her everyday life for herself has collapsed due to the appearance of her mother, and she unconsciously utters words that blame her mother.

To my daughter's words. My mother lost her words. I can only apologize. Seeing my mother like that, my daughter blamed herself with guilt.

I was just surprised at my mother's sudden appearance, and I'm not blaming her. But the words I now uttered were clearly to blame on my mother. I don't know how my mother is here. Serena still looks confused.

There was someone to speak up to Serena who was confused. Together they were ordered to pick up Mocha. It's Morna and Isi from the Student Union of Arsenia School of Magic.

"Serena, I don't know what you're saying."

"Serena, please calm down"

The two calm down as they lean softly against Serena. Thanks to that, Serena was able to calm down a bit, too.

But just because she calmed down doesn't mean the situation will change, and Mocha, her mother, was still standing in front of her, feeling sorry for her. Sometimes we haven't seen each other in a long time, or there's a little bit of air between them.

Mocha, who doesn't know what to say to her daughter, and Serena, who has said words that are unintentional but hurt her mother, try to care for each other, resulting in more awkward air.

Perhaps this is usually done by keeping distance for a little while, but I can't do that right now, as I always do with nature. There wasn't a solid certainty, but the two intuitively know that leaving as they are now makes them even more awkward.

But fortunately, there were Moona and Aisi in addition to the two of us on this occasion. Moona, distracted, asks Mocha.

"Long time no see, auntie"

"Yeah, it's been a while, Morna. And Aisi."

"Hi."

Because each parent and child has an interaction due to the relationship between the same student association, the Mornas are also quite close to Mocha.

"Suddenly, why is my aunt on this island?

"It's a long story, but in short, it's a request from the Holy Knight."

"Are you Lord Arthur-One, the Holy Knight?

"Yeah, they came to me in person, and they invited me here."

"I see, is that what happened"

The three people who ask why Mocha showed up are oddly convinced. I was hearing that the Saint Knight Arthur belonged to the same group as them. If you try three, it's easy to imagine Arthur not on this island operating in Leiria.

"So is our purpose too?

"I've heard the rough story."

Mocha looks like he understands the idea of a Morganese faction that has overthrown Leiria. But if they asked me how I was agreeing with the idea, it was the impression that Morna and I were not.

Now that Mocha doesn't yet know all the purpose of the Morganas and why, she doesn't have enough information to agree or disagree with them in the first place.

Then why are you in this place?

The answer was simple.

"Your mother... came to bring me back?

Terrified to ask Serena. In common sense, parents can't agree with a child trying to overthrow the current system in his or her country. At least after all the time parents have spent under that system, they also know the country well.

I tend to hate extreme changes every time I get older: human. That's because adaptability to new things diminishes.

If you think about it that way, you can be convinced that Mocha showed up on this Avalon island to bring Serena back. But Serena's worries ended in concern.

"I'm not here to bring you back."

"Heh..."

"Your mother doesn't know more about what Serena is doing right now. But that's why I'm not gonna tell you to stop it."

Serena loses her words to her mother's unexpected words.

"The Holy Knight told me why Serena is here."

"It's..."

If they ask me what I fight for, it's for a thought-provoking seiya. But it's embarrassing for my mother to know that.

"It's nothing good. It's great not to fight your friends, your people, to protect whomever you want."

"Mother..."

"But let me just say this"

Mocha turns into a serious look.

"Until now, Serena helped me or just watched me from the side. But this time your mother will fight with Serena, too. Protect Saiya-kun together. But this isn't for Saiya, it's for Serena. Just as Serena wants to fight for Seiya, so does your mother. If I tell you, this is your mother's selfishness. And your mother will push that selfishness through to the end."

Definite readiness to feel from Mocha's eyes. That was the look of a mother Serena had never yet tried. But at the same time, for the first time in his life, he felt immediately the greatness of his mother.

I don't need any more words of apology between us. Each fights for his own ego. My daughter is for a thought-provoking boy. My mother stands up for such a daughter.

Serena snapped small toward her mother.

"Mother... thank you..."
