Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Chapter 445-They Were Together-Together

Gigi:

Both of them had files in their hands, and judging by the direction they were heading, it seemed they were on their way to Ragnar’s office.

Of course, I knew exactly what they were up to.

They were looking for excuses to get close to Verity, knowing perfectly well that she was there.

The way they kept elbowing each other, first one shoving the other aside and then getting pushed back, genuinely made me feel terrible for them.

This wasn’t how things were supposed to be.

They were brothers, for God’s sake. They were supposed to stand together as a team.

But then again, with Verity acting like a Jezebel in their lives, what else could I expect?

The moment they raised their heads and noticed me, however, their expressions changed.

Both immediately averted their eyes, their ears turning red with embarrassment.

And I knew exactly why.

So I decided to play along, clearing my throat and turning my face away as though I was equally uncomfortable.

Eventually, they approached me and stopped outside the elevator.

I noticed how anxiously they kept tapping their feet, neither quite knowing what to do.

I was heading down to the parking garage, whereas they were already on the floor they’d intended to visit.

But I wasn’t about to let them get away with avoiding me so easily.

They seemed to understand that, because after exchanging a glance, both stepped into the elevator with me.

After all, there was still some unresolved tension between us.

An awkward silence engulfed the three of us throughout the ride, and their stiff body language made it painfully obvious how uncomfortable they felt.

When the elevator finally reached the underground parking garage, I stepped out, and both brothers immediately hurried after me.

I’d parked my car in the basement, and I was making my way toward it when they caught up.

"Gigi, listen," Jaguar began.

I turned around and gave him a harsh look.

"Please, just tell us one thing. Did you go to see Ragnar?"

The fear was written all over his face.

He was clearly worried that I’d already told Ragnar everything that had happened between us.

"Did you tell Ragnar about it?" Theodore finally blurted out, unable to contain his anxiety.

I remained silent for a moment, studying their faces and watching the color slowly drain from them.

"You know I never hide anything from Ragnar," I reminded them.

Both visibly swallowed.

"But this time, I couldn’t bring myself to tell him. It would’ve made you two look terrible. I mean, how could I possibly tell Ragnar that both of you came to my house that day?"

I paused, dramatically lowering my gaze before wrapping one hand around my opposite elbow and closing my eyes.

"But don’t worry," I murmured. "I’ve already apologized to Verity."

When I finally looked up, their eyes had widened in disbelief.

"Yes, I only came here today to apologize to Verity, not to complain about either of you."

Jaguar immediately placed a hand over his chest and released a relieved sigh, while Theodore tipped his head back and closed his eyes, looking as though an enormous weight had just been lifted off his shoulders.

"Anyway, I suppose things between us are already ruined now. I should get going," I announced dramatically, turning toward my car.

Just then, my phone began ringing.

Normally, I would’ve ignored it, but a small part of me hoped it was Ragnar calling to ask me to return to his office.

I didn’t even know why I wanted that so badly.

Perhaps because he’d been acting increasingly distant lately, and I desperately wanted him to show me that he still cared.

He used to be so attentive toward me, always making time for me and ensuring I felt important.

But now, probably because of all the problems involving his brothers, he barely seemed able to give me any attention.

And we were practically on the verge of getting engaged.

I brought the phone to my ear as I slowly slipped into the driver’s seat, only to discover that the caller was none other than Rochelle.

Wonderful.

I was already mentally preparing a dozen excuses to explain why Jaguar couldn’t be with her.

Perhaps I’d tell her I’d spoken to him and he wasn’t interested, or come up with some other explanation to get her off my back.

But what she said next was the last thing I’d expected.

"Gigi, have you checked your social media? Has anyone tagged you in those clips?" Rochelle questioned urgently.

"What clips?" I asked, reaching for the steering wheel without starting the car.

The brothers were still standing outside, watching me with a mixture of embarrassment, guilt, and uncertainty.

And judging by the way their expressions began to shift, they could probably tell from my face that something was wrong.

"Gigi, you seriously need to check your accounts. People are tagging each other in those videos, and it’s looking really bad. I feel so sorry for you."

My heart practically dropped into my stomach at the dramatic sympathy dripping from Rochelle’s voice.

I immediately ended the call and frantically opened my social media accounts, searching for the videos she’d mentioned.

And the moment I found them, my heart seemed to stop.

They weren’t the videos I’d spent so long fearing might surface online.

They were something I never would’ve imagined seeing.

Videos of Ragnar and Verity from their trip.

One clip in particular caught my attention.

Verity was standing on the porch of her hut, with Ragnar right beside her.

They appeared to be having a conversation, but there was no audible dialogue, only the footage someone had secretly recorded.

In the video, Ragnar first defended her from some crazy woman who’d apparently been causing trouble.

Then he moved awfully close to Verity, saying something that made her shift uncomfortably.

I couldn’t make out a single word, but what happened next was enough to make my stomach twist.

Verity went inside her room, and Ragnar immediately followed, practically rushing into the hut after her.

My vision began to blur as I struggled to process what I was seeing.

And the comments beneath those clips only made everything worse.
