"James Taylor, you really don’t have to force yourself. As friends, we should be happy. Why do you have to force yourself?"

Yvonne continued to walk forward as she spoke.

James frowned and thought to himself, "If I can’t even be your friend, I will feel even worse."

He caught up with her and blocked her way, saying, "I know whether I’m happy or not. Just come back with me."

After saying that, he did not wait for her to agree. He grabbed her hand and returned to the car. He forced her back into her seat, then he stepped on the accelerator and drove the car away.

After that, neither of them spoke. When they reached a bustling intersection in the city center, Yvonne said, "Stop here."

James did not say anything and parked the car by the side of the road.

Yvonne silently opened the door and got out. After closing the door, she said to James, "Drive carefully on your way home."

However, as soon as she finished speaking, the car zoomed off like a gust of wind, leaving behind a deafening echo of the car engine.

Yvonne could not help but frown.

She knew that James was angry.

She also knew that she had gone too far, but even so, she did not think that she had done anything wrong.

Since she didn’t like him, she couldn’t give him the chance to get close to her, even if it was just a little bit.

At that thought, she retracted her gaze and turned in the opposite direction.

In the speeding car, James finally calmed down.

He realized he should not have left like that, even though the place she got off was the downtown area.

But she was still a girl, and an attractive one. If something happened to her, it would be terrible.

Thinking of this, he quickly drove the car back, but she was nowhere to be seen.

He sat in the car and couldn’t help smacking the steering wheel angrily.

Why couldn’t he control his damned character? Didn’t he tell himself he needed to be more patient?

Didn’t he tell himself that he wouldn’t care about what she said?

The more James thought about it, the angrier he became. No, he had to make sure that she was safe at home. Thinking of this, he sent Yvonne a message: "Remember to message me when you are home."

Yvonne saw his message before she went to bed. She lay on the bed and stared at it.

She hesitated for a long time and could not decide whether she should reply or not.

To be honest, she didn’t want to go on like this with James anymore.

Although they were friends, she could always feel that he did not see her as merely a friend.

What should she do to make him give up completely?

Yvonne felt a headache coming on. "Forget it, I’d better reply so that he won’t worry."

Thinking of this, she typed two words, threw her phone aside, and turned off the light to sleep.

However, James could not fall asleep because of these two words.

"I’m home."

Did her message have to be so short?

He sat up irritably and walked out of the door.

Apart from James, Christopher was also having a hard time tonight.

Not long after he and Janice returned home, Janice’s stomach began to feel uncomfortable.

She kept running to the bathroom the whole night.

The sight of her vomiting and sick gave Christopher a fright.

He quickly drove her to the hospital.

....

After arriving at the hospital, Janice was admitted to the emergency room.

Christopher could only wait outside the door anxiously. When it opened, he hurried over.

"Doctor, how is my wife?"

It was an old doctor. Looking at his anxious face, he frowned and said, "You young people really don’t have any common sense. How can a pregnant woman eat so many crabs at a time? Fortunately, she was sent here in time. She’s fine, but she has to stay in the hospital overnight for observation."

After that, the doctor left angrily.

Christopher rushed in to see Janice. She was lying on the bed with an IV drip. He felt his heart ache and didn’t know what to say.

When Janice saw him, she apologized, "I’m sorry, Hubby. I made you get scolded." She had heard everything just now.

Christopher was usually such a proud person. After being scolded in public by the doctor, she hadn’t expected him to endure it quietly.

Christopher didn’t say anything. He thought to himself, "It doesn’t matter if I get scolded, as long as you’re fine."

Earlier, he felt scared at the doctor’s words.

When Janice saw that he was silent with a grim face, she thought he was angry.

She hurriedly said, "Hubby, don’t be angry with me, okay? I won’t be such a greedy glutton in the future."

Biting her lip, she held his hand wearing a guilty look.

Only then did Christopher say, "Silly, how could I be angry with you? I was just a little upset. Are you feeling better now?"

Nodding her head, Janice replied, "I’m much better now. My stomach no longer hurts, and I don’t feel the need to use the toilet constantly."

Hearing her words, Christopher was relieved, but he still said, "It was my negligence this time. From now on, I will take good care of you, and such things will never happen again."

His tone was full of guilt.

"Hubby, it’s not your fault this time. I was too greedy. I swear never to eat crabs again. If I break my promise, let me become a dog."

She made a solemn vow, which made Christopher laugh.

He chuckled and said, "Well, you don’t have to swear. You can still eat crabs, but

only after the child is born. You can be rest assured that I will make up for all the crabs you haven’t eaten recently."

"Doesn’t that mean that you’ll have to prepare a full truck?" Janice teased.

"As long as you’re willing, I’ll give you as much as you want."

Christopher said.

Janice blinked. "Do you mean that?"

"Yes." Christopher nodded. He looked at the time and picked up the medicine. "It’s time for your medicine. Good girl, open your mouth."

The next morning, Yvonne found out that Janice was hospitalized. When she found out that it was because she had eaten too much crab last night, she could not help blaming herself.

After all, she was a doctor. She should have reminded Janice, but last night, she was busy avoiding James and completely forgot about it.

"Sorry, Janice. I should have warned you last night that pregnant women can’t eat too many crabs."

Over the phone, she apologized profusely.

Janice replied, "It’s fine. It’s all my fault for being greedy. I’m fine now."

"Then you have to remember to take good care of yourself and eat less of seafood in the future."

"Got it."

After hanging up the phone, Yvonne breathed a sigh of relief.

As soon as she walked into the consulting room, someone came in.

"Sorry, the computer is still starting up. Please sit outside and wait for a moment."

She said apologetically.

She didn’t expect that the person came in directly.

When she saw a pair of polished LV leather shoes coming over, she looked up subconsciously from her computer, only to be stunned when she saw who it was.
