Chapter 282: Thank You Hubby, You’re The Best
Seeing that Yvonne was just sitting there, as if she was not interested in anything, James paused and imitated Christopher. He also picked up a crab and the tools, and extracted the meat.
"Try this. Crabs are now in season, and their flesh is succulent." As James spoke, he placed the piece of crab in Yvonne’s plate. Yvonne looked at the crab meat and was stunned. "You can eat it yourself. I can peel it myself."
As soon as she finished speaking, she was about to push the crab meat back to James.
James stopped her and said, "Why? It’s my duty to serve you. What should we do if you get pricked by the crab? Be a good girl and just eat."
As he spoke, he placed the plate back in front of her.
Yvonne felt a little helpless. After all, they were at the dining table. If she continued to push the plate back and forth, it would look bad and cause misunderstandings.
She subconsciously glanced Janice and Christopher. Both of them were engrossed in their little word, without noticing what had happened between James and her.
Yvonne could not help but feel glad that they had not discovered the situation.
Otherwise, it would have been a misunderstanding.
With these thoughts in mind, she did not continue to decline.
When James saw that she accepted his offer, he picked up the crabs with more enthusiasm.
Before long, his plate was full of crab shells.
There was also a lot of crab meat placed in front of Yvonne and she couldn’t help feeling speechless.
"James Taylor, can you leave me alone? Whatever I want to eat, I’ll get it for myself. If I can’t finish the food, wouldn’t it be a waste?"
"Got it."
Although James said that, he actually didn’t care whether it was a waste of food, he just wanted to take care of Yvonne.
If she was willing, he would be willing to serve her food for the rest of his life.
However, for the time being, he still needed to listen to her.
So James did not continue serving her. He glanced at Christopher sitting opposite him, who has also stopped.
However, Janice seemed a little dissatisfied. "Hubby, just let me eat one more."
Christopher frowned. "No, you’ve already eaten five. The doctor said that you can’t eat too much."
"I don’t eat it every day. I just eat it occasionally. I’m sure it’s okay. Just let me eat the last one, hubby."
She looked at Christopher with a pitiful pout.
Christopher couldn’t bear to see her like this.
He had always catered to Janice’s every whim. As long as he could do it, even if she wanted the moon in the sky, he would try his best to fulfill her dream.
What’s more, it was just a crab.
Looking at her pitiful look, Christopher wavered.
"You can only eat just a little more."
Janice nodded vigorously.
After eating the last one on the plate, Janice was finally satisfied.
"Thank you, hubby. You’re the best."
She did not forget to praise him.
Christopher, however, chuckled helplessly.
After dinner, Christopher took Janice home.
When they separated in front of the hotel, Janice looked at Yvonne and said, "Yvonne, remember to look for me when you have time. I am very free now. Whether it’s shopping or eating and chatting, I promise that I’ll be there at any time."
Yvonne was amused by her words.
"Well, you are pregnant. I wouldn’t dare to ask you to eat and drink with me. Get in the car quickly. Otherwise, your husband will fret."
....
Janice glanced at Christopher, who was standing next to the car. She waved at Yvonne and turned to get in the car.
The car drove out. It was not until it was out of sight that Yvonne retracted her gaze. "Let’s go. I’ll drive you back."
Yvonne did not say anything. Instead, she glanced at her phone. Before she came out to the door, she had already booked a car on her app. She did not know why the car had not arrived yet.
"There’s no need," she said. "I’ve already called a cab and it’ll be here soon." After that, she started to walk to the roadside.
Seeing this, James quickly rushed forward to stop her. "It’s late at night and you’re a girl. How can I let you take a cab alone? Let’s go."
After that, he pulled her by the arm and walked toward his car, regardless of whether she agreed.
Yvonne struggled but failed to break free, so she could only follow him.
James pulled her to his car, opened the door on the passenger side and motioned for her to get in.
Yvonne looked around and did not see the car she had booked.
She paused for a moment and sat in.
James hurried to the driver’s seat and drove off.
As they were leaving, Yvonne’s two aunts came out of the hotel and saw Yvonne sitting in the car.
"Jane, am I seeing things? Isn’t that Yvonne?"
Lisa asked in surprise.
Jane replied, "Lisa, I also saw that. It seems to be Yvonne."
"So, she already has a boyfriend?"
Lisa asked in confusion.
Jane shook her head and said, "I don’t know if he is her boyfriend or not, but judging by his car, he should be from a rich family. I heard from my husband that this car costs tens of millions. Not everyone can afford it."
Lisa was taken aback.
In the car, Yvonne was feeling ill at ease. It was the first time she sat in such a car.
James, in particular, seemed to be a different person after he put on this racing suit.
He seemed less shameless and cooler.
"Do you want me to take you to the race track for a ride?"
James asked.
Yvonne shook her head and said, "Forget it. I’m tired and want to go back to rest."
James did not insist and said, "Give me your address."
Yvonne was stunned. She did not understand what he was trying to do.
When James saw her guarded look, he knew that she was thinking too much. He was a little depressed but still explained. "Aren’t I sending you home? I have to know where you stay."
Yvonne replied, "There’s no need. Just send me to the subway station in front. I’ll take the subway back."
As soon as she finished speaking, James parked the car by the side of the road.
"Yvonne White, is there a point in doing this? Do you need to guard against me as if I’m a thief? Even if I know where you stay, what can I do to you?"
James said angrily.
Yvonne did not speak. She paused for a moment before saying, "You can’t do anything to me, but you can annoy me to death. Since you care so much about me being on guard against you, there’s no need for you to send me home. I’ll get out of the car right here. Thank you for the ride."
With that, she opened the car door and got out.
James was stunned and quickly followed her down.
They were in the middle of nowhere. How could he leave her here alone?
He hurriedly caught up with her and said, "I won’t ask if it’s not okay with you. Just come back into the car."
