Chapter 287: He Was A Poor Man Trapped In Love
"James, if you like her, don’t think too much about it. You should learn from Chris and marry her first. Love can be cultivated after you get married."
James sneered, "Can I be the same as Chris? I won’t marry a woman who doesn’t like me. If she doesn’t like me, I will find another girl. Pour me wine." Daniel was speechless. It was James who had been complaining that the girl didn’t like him. What a poor man trapped in love!
Seeing Christopher pouring James a glass of wine again, Daniel couldn’t help but touch his arm, "Why don’t you talk? Talk some sense into him."
Christopher frowned. "He’s all like this. Do you think he will listen?" Daniel agreed. It was useless to talk to a drunk man.
"We just let him drink it?"
"Don’t worry. He will be wasted soon."
Christopher glanced at his watch, and then said, "I’m leaving. When he gets drunk, find someone to send him back."
With that, he got up and patted Daniel on the shoulder, then walked towards the door. "Don’t go..." James stood up suddenly and staggered.
When Daniel saw this, he hurriedly stretched out his hand to support him but was very speechless. What was James trying to do? He frowned, and just as he was about to help him sit back, he saw James lower his head and fall into a drunken stupor. Daniel was stunned and said to himself: Chris was right and James was drunk. The scent of alcohol and the weight of his body were overwhelming for Daniel.
He was speechless. He could only help James out and put him in his car. He fastened James’ seat belt and was about to return to the driver’s seat when his phone rang suddenly. He picked it up and hurriedly said, "Okay, I’ll go over immediately."
After Daniel hung up the phone, he glanced at James, who was drunk and unconscious in the car, frowned, and called Sam. It didn’t take long before Sam arrived.
"Mr. Pattinson."
Daniel handed her the car key and said, "I have something to deal with temporarily. You can send him home for me. I will send the address to your WhatsApp later."
Sam hesitated for a moment before taking the car keys, "If I drive the car away, what should you do?"
Daniel said, "There is another car in the garage. I will drive that one."
Sam nodded, turned around, and drove out. James didn’t wake up until she drove the car to the destination. Sam glanced at James in the back seat, frowned, and got out of the car. She walked around to the backseat. She opened the door and saw that James showed no sign of waking up. She reached out and patted him on the shoulder, "Mr. Taylor, you’re home. Wake up."
However, James didn’t react at all. Sam felt helpless. She turned around and glanced at the door behind her, and after a pause, she reached out and helped him out of the car. It wasn’t until she held him back to the bedroom that Sam heaved a sigh of relief and turned around to leave.
"Yvonne, I’m telling you, don’t expect me to let you go so easily." James suddenly said. Sam was startled. Seeing that he was only talking in a drunken state, she shook her head helplessly, turned, and left. When James woke up, it was already night, and there was a sharp pain in his head. He got up from the bed uncomfortably and walked out. He wanted to pour some water but saw a note on the table.
...
He picked the note up and read it, "Mr. Taylor, this is the sober medicine. Please remember to take one when you wake up." James looked at the writing on it. It was neither Daniel’s nor Christopher’s. He frowned. Who had been here? Looking at the bag set aside, he frowned, picked up the phone, and called Daniel, "Who sent me back?"
On the other end of the phone, Daniel glanced at Sam, and said, "My assistant." "Rob’s sister?" James was surprised, "But Danny, how could you ask a girl to send me back?"
Daniel frowned, "What’s wrong with girls? Don’t look down on them."
James is speechless, "I don’t look down on women, I mean, I am a drunk man, and you asked a girl to take me home. Weren’t you afraid, in case I..."
Hearing him say that, Daniel smiled, "You were drunk and unconscious. What else could you do? Besides, even if you wanted to, you might not be able to do it."
"What do you mean?" James was puzzled.
Daniel smiled meaningfully, "It means... have a guess?" He hung up the phone. James was angry. Daniel was getting worse and worse. How dare he laugh at him? He threw the phone aside bitterly, and there was another pain in his head. He rubbed it, but his eyes fell on the bag of medicine, then took out a pill and took it with water. It didn’t take long for the medicine to kick in and it didn’t hurt so much. James felt much better, and his eyes fell on the note on the table subconsciously.
Speaking of which, he should thank Sam for not only sending him back but also buying him medicine. Thinking of this, he called Daniel again, "Give me the phone number of Rob’s sister." Daniel frowned, "Why do you want her phone number?"
James was a little impatient, "Don’t ask so many questions. Just give it to me." Daniel was speechless with his irritable temper, and he immediately gave him a series of numbers and hung up the phone regardless of whether he remembered it or not. Fortunately, James was naturally sensitive to numbers and had a good memory. He remembered it once and called Sam.
It didn’t take long before it was answered, "Who is it?"
"You sent me back," James said.
Sam was startled, and immediately realized who was calling her, "Mr. Taylor, are you awake?"
James nodded and cut to the chase, "Well, tonight, I’d like to invite you to dinner to thank you for sending me back."
Sam hurriedly said, "No, it was my pleasure."
"Don’t, I don’t like to owe favors to others. At 7 p.m., Capital Hotel."
Before Sam could refuse, the phone was hung up, and she had no choice but to go to the appointment. At seven o’clock in the evening, Sam arrived at the hotel and
saw James sitting in his seat. She frowned and walked over, "Mr. Taylor, you don’t have to do this. It was my pleasure"
James said, "Sit down, please. You are Rob’s sister. Speaking of which, he has found his family, and I should celebrate it for him. But I don’t know what this guy is up to lately. I rarely saw him."
Sam sat down, "Speaking of which, I haven’t seen him for a long time too." James frowned, "It seems that he has been really busy lately. What would you like to eat?"
He handed over the menu gently. Sam declined, "I’m not a picky eater."
James didn’t force her when saw it. He put the menu aside and was just about to order when a familiar figure suddenly walked over. James froze for a moment and looked over and saw Yvonne walking towards the restaurant.
