Chapter 298: How Many Times Had She Picked Him Up?
Through the car window, he watched Yvonne walk into Durotte Square. This was the most concentrated place in the entire Tomaville entertainment venue. What was she doing here? James was surprised, and then got out of the car and followed her. He followed Yvonne into a KTV, but the light inside was too dark, and he lost her after a short while. He was looking around, only to see Yvonne helping a drunk man walk out of it.
Upon seeing this, he hurried to greet her, and his face darkened when he saw that the person she was supporting was Stanley. "Well, you ran out so late to pick him up." James sneered. When Yvonne saw James, she was surprised, and she couldn’t help but frown, "What are you doing here?" She helped Stanley pass by him.
James snorted and followed them. She had some difficulty in supporting Stanley, and he frowned, "I’ll do it."
Yvonne avoided him, "No, I can do it myself."
She helped Stanley stumble on. James frowned, "He is a man. How can you have that much strength to support him?" Regardless of whether she wanted it or not, he took Stanley over. Yvonne’s hand was suddenly empty. She was indeed struggling, so she followed behind. In this way, the two helped Stanley outside. Yvonne said, "I’ll get the car here."
James didn’t say a word and only help Stanley stand there. After Yvonne left, he glanced contemptuously at the drunk Stanley. There was an urge to throw him on the ground, but he thought that Yvonne might be upset, so he decided to endure it. When Yvonne drove the car over, he helped Stanley to lie down in the back seat. As soon as he closed the door, Yvonne said, "Thank you."
James frowned, "You’re welcome. But where are you going to drive him?"
Yvonne said, "I’m driving him home."
Hearing that, James frowned, "I’ll go with you."
Yvonne paused and said, "No, it’s getting late, you can go back." Then she opened the door of the driver’s seat and got into the car. Upon seeing this, James also opened the passenger door and sat in, meeting Yvonne’s surprised gaze.
He said, "You know that it’s getting late. How could I let you a girl send a drunk home alone? Just drive." James fastened his seat belt. Yvonne didn’t object when she saw this and drove the car away. They said nothing on the way until the car stopped at the gate of an apartment. Yvonne unfastened her seat belt and got out of the car, "Here he is."
James followed and saw that she was going to help Stanley in the back seat, he quickly said, "I’ll do it."
With that, he dragged Stanley out of the car. Yvonne didn’t intervene when she saw this. She just walked ahead and led the way. The two entered the elevator and took Stanley to the door of his house. Yvonne was about to find the key in Stanley’s
pocket, but James stopped her, "I’m looking for it."
He rummaged in Stanley’s pocket but didn’t find the key. He frowned, "Are you sure the key is on him?"
Yvonne shook her head, "I found it on him the previous few times."
"The previous few times?" James felt upset for a moment. How many times had she picked him up?
"Wake him up and ask where it is."
As he said, he patted Stanley’s face, "Hey, wake up."
....
However, Stanley didn’t react at all. James couldn’t help but complain. Stanley had been sleeping like a log. "Go to the building management and ask if there is a spare key." James reminded. Yvonne froze, then turned and went downstairs.
It didn’t take long for her to come back, "They asked me to provide identification, but I..."
Yvonne hesitated. James frowned, "It’s troublesome. Or we just send him to a hotel." Yvonne didn’t object, and it seemed there was no other choice. So the two put Stanley back in the car and drove to a nearby hotel. When they arrived at the hotel, they got a room. Yvonne tried to follow but was stopped by James.
"You’re a girl. If you show up at the hotel with two men in the middle of the night, it will ruin your reputation. Just wait in the car." He ordered. Hearing that, Yvonne could only pass the room card over and turned back. James dragged Stanley to the hotel room and threw him on the floor as soon as he entered the room Had it not been for Yvonne, he wouldn’t have dragged such a heavy log around. What a waste of his precious time!
He took a breath and glanced down at Stanley on the floor, then squatted down and patted his face, "You are quite clever. Call a girl to pick you up in the middle of the night and don’t give her the key, why? Want to go to her house again?"
He sneered, "But you are unlucky. You’re not getting your way when you meet me." With that, Stanley suddenly rolled over and pressed himself on James’s feet. James moved his foot and Stanley didn’t respond. He kicked Stanley back to the floor.
James stood up and walked forward with a sneer, "Boy, sleep well on the floor tonight. Next time, if you dare to use this trick again, it won’t be as simple as sleeping on the floor."
James stood up and walked forward with a sneer, "Boy, sleep well on the floor tonight. Next time, if you dare to use this trick again, it won’t be as simple as sleeping on the floor."
He pulled his tie, got up, and walked outside the door with a cold face. In the car, Yvonne was sitting and looking anxiously at the gate of the hotel. It had been a long time since James took Stanley up. Why hadn’t he gotten down yet? Could something be wrong? When she was thinking about it, James came out of the hotel. Seeing this, she quickly got out of the car to greet him, "Have you helped him set up?"
James saw that Yvonne was worried, and suppressed his unhappiness, "Yes."
With that, Yvonne was relieved, and she gratefully said to James, "Thank you."
"Don’t always talk about it. Gratitude needs action," James said.
"Then how do you want me to show my gratitude?" Yvonne asked.
James frowned, "I haven’t decided it yet. I will tell you when I think about it."
He walked straight to the front of the car. Yvonne frowned helplessly and followed him. James sat in the passenger seat, "My car has probably been towed away. I’ll take yours back."
Yvonne nodded and drove away. On the way, when James thought that Yvonne had used to do this kind of thing before, he couldn’t help but ask, "If I don’t follow you tonight, what are you going to do?"
Yvonne was surprised, only to realize that he was referring to Stanley. She was about to speak when James said again, "Take him home again?" Yvonne was surprised, "You..."
Ignoring the surprise on her face, James sneered, "Girls should be always on guard, especially with a drunk man."
