Chapter 279: Did She Do Something Wrong?
Stanley didn’t say anything and just looked at her. Yvonne felt uncomfortable under his gaze. "Stanley, why are you looking at me?" "You don’t suspect that I did it, do you?" Yvonne asked in surprise.
Only then did Stanley look away unnaturally. "Of course not. Why would I suspect you? I just wanted to tell you not to care too much about everything. All right, it’s almost time. I’m going to the consulting room."
After that, Stanley walked past her and left.
Yvonne stood still. Why did she feel that something was wrong?

Her Aunt Lisa said.

Without waiting for Yvonne to open her mouth, Jane said, "Lisa, would you like a portion of bird’s nest to moisten your throat first?"
Jane naturally had no objection. She said, "Sure."
After giving a few instructions to the waiter and the waiter left, Lisa put down the menu.
She said, "Yvonne, look, you are a daughter of the White Family. Why would you want to go work in a hospital?"

Lisa continued.
"Look at your Aunt Jane. Since she married your uncle, she has grown younger. She is almost 40 years old, and her face still looks 18. Your uncle goes home every day after work and treats her like a treasure. This is a woman’s blessing."
At Lisa’s words, Jane blushed immediately.
"Lisa, why are you saying that in front of Yvonne? It’s embarrassing.", Jane said reproachfully.
Lisa said, "You’re already a mother, why are you being shy? Besides, Yvonne is not an outsider."
Jane lowered her head to drink water and did not say a word.
Lisa continued, "As a woman, you should take good care of yourself like your Aunt Jane. You should make the man dote on you. Only in this way can you live a comfortable life. It is much more successful than going to work. Don’t you agree, Jane?"
Jane naturally knew Lisa’s intention and echoed, "Yes."
Yvonne knew that they were acting for her sake.

Lisa was stunned, but she realized something. She winked at Jane, indicating that she should talk.
Jane got the hint and then said, "Yvonne, you are already 27 years old and you do not have a boyfriend yet. Our family is worried about you."
Yvonne thought to herself, "You’re only worried about your own money, aren’t you?"
She didn’t expose them and spoke unhurriedly.
"Aunt Jane, I remember that Jeanette should be in Grade Twelve this year."
Jeanette was the daughter of her fourth uncle. She was ten years younger than Yvonne, and the other of the only two girls in the White family.
When the topic was shifted to her daughter, Jane paused for a second before saying, "Yeah, she’s in Grade Twelve this year."
Yvonne smiled and said.
"Grade Twelve should be quite stressful. Shouldn’t you spend your time on Jeanette?"
The implication was that she was meddling in other people’s business. How could Jane not understand her? However, she was not a shrew like Lisa was and could not bring herself to argue with her.
Seeing this, Lisa said, "Your Aunt Jane will naturally keep an eye on your cousin, but we can’t ignore you. You lost your mother when you were a child. Your Aunt Jane and I treat you as our own daughter."
Hearing Lisa’s words, Yvonne felt that it was ridiculous that they were lying so blatantly.
"Speaking of which, cousin Brandon should have graduated from university by now."
Yvonne suddenly said.
Lisa was stunned and Yvonne continued.
"Has he found a girlfriend? Is he going to enter the White family business or start his own business? Aunt Lisa, are you not helping him?"
These words touched Lisa’s weakness.
