Former General Is Undead Knight

Episode VII: Visit to the Count Percilis Territory (6)

Count Percilis finally turned his attention to Lambert after being made to stand by private soldiers.

"Do... what about this armor?

"... He said he was the man who had Master Charles. There are some suspicions… The Count and Charles return to the Hall"

Troinia tells Count Perciris.

"Oh, you were protecting Charles! No, my daughter has bothered you. I don't know how to thank you..."

Count Percilis inadvertently approaches Lambert through the side of Troinia, bowing his head with a peck.

Troinia distorted his expression muchly.

"Count, you are always too alert. And the assurance that he's not an assassin from Dark City Dredda..."

"Ha ha, Troinia, even the outlaws in the Dark City won't be free enough to bother sending assassins to such an incompetent old man. The worse he is, the busier he is."

Count Percilis laughed with ease and returned to Troinia as such.

Troinia's face is tense.

Lambert also intended to already know about the temperament of Count Percilis, but he seemed to be more of an easygoing person than he had talked about, in fact, at present.

"Besides, can someone with a dark spot do such a suspicious thing?"

After a mild laugh, Count Percilis looked back at Lambert like a hack and lowered his head pecking, his bat touching his own moustache looking bad.

"And... I apologize for being rude to my daughter's benefactor. Well... the place was tingling and I was going to soothe it a little bit..."

"... no, I don't care"

Listening to Lambert's words, Count Percilis smiles lightly.

"No, Dad...... Lambert, you sound a little grumpy. Shouldn't you be a little more firmly apologetic?

As Charles struck his ear with a blur, Count Percilis shook his shoulders frighteningly and tried to bow his head wide.

The private soldiers rush to stop it.

"The Count, even though it's not majestic, so stop bowing your head so easily! Whatever we do, we'll keep our heads down instead!

"But..."

"... it's okay, I don't care"

Lambert checked on Count Perciris and thought that at this rate he might not get much useful information from him either.

"Come inside the hall."

"It won't, Count. That's just unacceptable. Play well."

When Count Percilis said so with his head down, Troinia spoke low and leaked so in a grumpy manner.

"I know how you feel, but I need to get up to it now."

Count Percilis says so and winks poorly.

Troinia was narrowing her eyes and staring back at the Lord.

"Sa, Jen of armor. Follow me."

"... no, fine. Even if you invite me now, I'm not comfortable with this one. If you just want to thank me, I'd like to talk a little bit about this territory on this occasion."

"Oh well... I will answer anything I can..."

Count Percilis responds as he scratches his head.

Lambert observes Troinia.

Though his still grumpy face was floating, he seemed unwilling to pinch his mouth at the suggestion from Lambert.

If you stretch your story poorly, you may be anxious to see what your own Lord will say.

Troinia is somewhat extreme in Troinia, but given the lightness of Count Percilis's parents and children, Troinia's harsh words and actions may be its recoil.

With that in mind, his poor attitude was not blamed in general either.

Troinia probably didn't want him to meet Lambert as hard as he could because he knew the lightness of Count Perciris.

Even as Lambert, he believed that the character of Count Percilis was favourable as an individual but not worthy as an aristocrat.

"Count Pursilis, did you know that there is someone in this land who collects magic silver?

Count Perciris blinked his eyes when he heard it and moved his hand to his own mustache.

"… we know that. Maybe... there's something not so good involved."

The answer seemed slightly spicy, Count Percilis said.

Lambert was suspicious that he hadn't even realised it was at this rate, but Count Pursilis just seemed to be grasping the matter.

"I want you to tell me. Who is near this king's capital, buying and fishing for magic silver (Mithril) that can be a powerful weapon?"

If you can buy away Magic Silver (Mithril), it will only become the opponent's battle power, or the value of Magic Silver (Mithril) within the Kingdom of Legions will increase, and the cost of getting weapons and armor ready will jump.

Definitely should have seen the 'whistling demon' involved.

"... Actually, I'm not talking about the last few years. My predecessors… When my father was the Lord, there was already a strange movement of magic silver (misril). Back then, they said it was still slight, do you call it a trend..."

"... what?

"It depends on my father's research… it seems that merchants with a reputation for poor predisposition in the commercial neighborhood are buying magic silver (Mithril) around this territory and selling it to those living in the Dark City. They seem to be buying and collecting Demon Silver (Mithril) at the mercy of Dark Street-based Alchemists... but there is still something that doesn't fall. Because it is inexplicable that the alchemists gather all the magic silver (misrills)... and they do not know where the vast amount of magic silver (misrills) they gather went after all..."

More than I thought, it seemed that the Demonic Silver (Mithril) recovery had taken place over the years.

It was a project that needed to be tackled more quickly and drastically.

"... why did you shut down the investigation?

"My father's private soldiers, who were investigating the Dark City, were all in the process of killing them.... Was my father assassinated just after that?"

Count Percilis speaks sadly.

That's all I heard, Lambert guessed.

Troinia said the story was that the two brothers of Count Percilis were also killed, but only Count Percilis, who was probably three men and not so good, had been missed.

"... have you reported the matter to the Royal Family?

"Yeah... However, there are places that are pinching a lot of substitutions and are just a little bit aye-free..."

"Hey, what..."

"Recently, the collection of purchases of Demonic Silver (Mithril) has become particularly active, and merchants from nearby territories seem to be aware of it... There have been many attempts at countermeasures, but there have been no significant results… No, I am ashamed to say so"

"Count, I don't think we're really talking about talking to the outside world in the dark, though?

Troinia tells Count Perciris.

Troinia, who apparently served from Count Percilis' father's behalf, seemed more familiar with the matter than Count Percilis, but was unlikely to be able to draw a cooperative attitude from Troinia.
