Chapter 313 - 314: Cowardice
"You’re going to end your life over one leg?"
Mia Warren was speechless. She wanted to argue, but Chloe Sinclair’s gaze terrified her, and her whole body trembled.
"Right now, you just have a lame leg. It’s not like it can’t heal. In a year, you can still compete in the Winter Games, the City Games, even the Olympics. Your life path doesn’t have to be paused or abandoned because of one leg."
"In the Paralympics, there are athletes who are blind, who have lost both hands, who have missing limbs. But do you see them giving up?"
"You might face difficulties in the future that are even more serious than a broken leg. Are you going to find a scapegoat every time? The world doesn’t work that way."
Hearing this, Mia Warren’s head snapped up, a flash of panic in her eyes.
’A lie is a lie, after all. It’s bound to fall apart.’
’If it ever comes out, what will everyone think of me?’
Mia Warren trembled all over.
She tried to break free from Chloe Sinclair, but Chloe held her fast, and she couldn’t move.
"Let me go!"
Chloe Sinclair’s eyes darkened. Fortunately, the firefighters arrived just then and pulled Mia Warren to safety.
Mia Warren’s parents were out of town and couldn’t get back immediately.
The assistant coach, standing to the side, was so emotional watching Mia Warren get rescued that he nearly burst into tears.
Although he was disappointed that the young athlete had lost her chance to compete in the Winter Games, he certainly couldn’t condone her methods.
"Chloe Sinclair, why did you ruin me? You’ve ruined my entire life!"
Mia Warren hadn’t actually had the courage to kill herself, and now, thinking back on her impulsive actions, she was filled with regret.

After an examination, the doctor concluded that the chances of Mia Warren’s leg making a full recovery were very slim.
Chloe Sinclair didn’t relay this news to Mia Warren, saying only, "Wait for her parents to arrive before you tell her."
Sutton frowned. "Miss Sinclair, I know this might be out of line, but after how Mia Warren has treated you, why are you still helping her?"
The sports team had initially asked her to handle the training, but Chloe Sinclair had originally refused.
In the end, it was Shawn Styles who had to persistently plead with her to get her to come.
But now Mia Warren was relentlessly blaming Chloe Sinclair for something that was her own fault.
Even though her reasoning was completely absurd, the young woman still put all the blame on Chloe Sinclair.
Chloe Sinclair had fronted the money for her medical bills, pulled strings to get her a hospital bed, and found the best orthopedic surgeon in the city for her.
And despite all that, Mia Warren still thought it was all Chloe Sinclair’s fault.
