Chapter 354 - 443: Quantum Communication Technology
Chloe Sinclair wasn’t in a rush and watched an episode of a TV drama with the old master.
Thirty minutes later, the episode ended and went to a commercial break.
The old master pressed the volume button, muting the commercials.
His gaze then fell upon Chloe Sinclair, his sharp eyes looking her up and down. An ordinary person would have likely crumbled under such scrutiny, but Chloe kept her back straight, completely unfazed by the old master’s assessing gaze.
"Chloe, I heard from a professor at Emberfall University that you plan on researching other fields?"
Chloe answered, "That’s right. But I haven’t decided what yet."
The old master’s expression didn’t change, but there was a hint of gratification in his tone.
"Not having decided is no big deal. Back when I was your age, all I thought about every day was how to go out and have fun."
The old master was a graduate of Emberfall University, one of its most renowned figures, and a legend in Zenthia.
Chloe Sinclair didn’t believe him for a second.
After all, the old master had entered the field of Physics at eighteen and had already found some success.
Then, a thought seemed to strike her, and Chloe asked directly, "Grandpa, did you want to talk to me about academic matters?"
The old master’s face froze for a moment, then he suddenly burst into a hearty laugh.
"Quentin Sinclair certainly raised a fine daughter!"
The old master thought of his own unaccomplished son and felt a growing sense of envy.
He then admitted truthfully, "I did ask you here to discuss a few academic issues."
He paused, and seeing that Chloe’s expression remained unchanged as she listened quietly, he continued, "Are you familiar with quantum communication technology?"
Chloe Sinclair nodded without hesitation. "I am."
Now, it was the old master’s turn to be surprised.
Before Chloe arrived, he’d thought it would be quite good if she knew just a little about it.
But Chloe’s unwavering gaze and unhesitating reply made it clear that she was even more formidable than he had imagined.
With that thought, the old master’s gaze sharpened, and he asked in a deep voice, "What are your views on quantum communication technology?"
Hearing this, Chloe Sinclair sat up straighter.
Her dark eyes shone like a beacon in the night, impossible to ignore.
"I believe that quantum communication technology is a fraud."
The old master’s pupils contracted. His grip on his cane tightened, but he managed to ask patiently, "How so?"
Chloe asked, "Let me ask you, is the theoretical core of quantum technology intended for the general public?"
The old master nodded.
Chloe continued, "And yet, discussions about quantum technology are all over social media, message boards, and online forums. The vast majority of people are simply asking, ’What is quantum communication technology?’"
"Granted, whenever there’s a breakthrough in quantum communication, many people bring up quantum entanglement. Then, when the conversation turns to quantum computers, they assume it can crack any code."
"Even you, a leading scientist in the field, wouldn’t dare claim to have thoroughly mastered quantum communication. So how can there be any talk of making it accessible to the public?"
After she finished speaking, Chloe Sinclair stared directly at the old master.
Her words were, in fact, incredibly sharp.
Kane Shaw was one of the earliest scientists to research quantum communication technology and was a pillar of the field.
Her words just now were, in effect, a critique of and challenge to the old master’s academic work.
When the old master didn’t speak for a long time, his expression unreadable, Chloe began to feel genuinely nervous.
Just as Chloe’s heart was pounding with uncertainty, the old master suddenly burst out laughing, a brilliant light flashing in his eyes.
"Well said!"
If his good impression of Chloe had previously stemmed from her accomplishments at such a young age, then her words just now had earned his true admiration.
