Jasper Shaw and Chloe Sinclair practically pulled an all-nighter.

They stayed in the office, one of them on the computer and the other hunched over the desk, writing up data.

It wasn’t until three in the morning that Chloe Sinclair was interrupted by a phone call.

It was from the parents of the two girls from before.

How they got Chloe Sinclair’s phone number was anyone’s guess.

After receiving late-night calls from their daughters, the girls’ parents had gone to great lengths to finally get in touch with Chloe Sinclair.

After listening to one of the mothers plead, Chloe Sinclair replied without hesitation, "I’m sorry, but I support my boyfriend on this. If they had the guts to secretly take those photos, they need to have the guts to face the consequences."

"Our daughter is still young—she’s only a sophomore. What she did today was out of line, but it’s ultimately a minor issue. How about this, miss? Just name your price. We’ll pay you, and we can just resolve this privately."

Chloe Sinclair’s eyes darkened, and an icy aura seemed to emanate from her.

"’Still young?’" she wanted to scoff. Her voice dripped with sarcasm. "Ma’am, do you think I need your money?"

The other end of the line went silent.

While the woman didn’t know Chloe Sinclair personally, it wasn’t as if she lived under a rock.

Chloe Sinclair had been all over the news from major outlets recently, not to mention a frequent face on short-video apps. Even if the mother didn’t know her name, she recognized the face.

It was safe to say that given Chloe Sinclair’s current fame, her level of public recognition was quite high.

After a long silence, the woman on the other end of the line choked back a sob. "But if the school finds out, my daughter’s life will be ruined. She’s only twenty."

"Can’t you just forgive her?"

Her voice was filled with fear and heartache for her daughter.

But there wasn’t a single shred of remorse.

A chill went through Chloe Sinclair.

She felt disappointed in the daughter, but even more so in the mother who raised her.

"Everyone makes mistakes. We make countless of them from the day we’re born to the day we die. Making mistakes is human, but forgiveness is divine. I don’t consider myself divine, so I’m sorry. The law will deal with this as it sees fit, and the university will issue its own punishment. I won’t interfere; I’ll simply wait for the final outcome."

’This day has been absolutely awful,’ Chloe Sinclair thought.

’I finally finished my exams and could get close to my man, only to get secretly filmed by a couple of rats. And now their parents are calling to guilt-trip me.’

Once she had said her piece, she hung up.

Then, she added both numbers to her block list.

When she put down her phone, she felt an intense gaze fixed on her.

She looked up to see the worried expression in Jasper Shaw’s eyes.

"They didn’t give you a hard time, did they?"

Chloe Sinclair hadn’t put the call on speaker, so he hadn’t heard anything.

Chloe Sinclair shook her head. "It’s fine."

Jasper Shaw didn’t look convinced.

Chloe Sinclair sighed in resignation. ’He’s going to be suspicious no matter what I say.’ So she changed the subject. "Did you contact the lawyers?"

Jasper paused for a moment, then replied, "I’ve already contacted our legal department, and I’ve also notified both of the students’ universities."

An incident this major, there was no way the universities wouldn’t be informed.

As for how the universities would handle it, Jasper had no interest in finding out.

He glanced at the time. "It’s half past three. There’s a small bed in the break room. Go get some sleep."

He was often busy, so he’d had a small private room added to his office. That way, when he didn’t go back to the villa, he could catch some sleep in there.

Chloe Sinclair didn’t refuse. Yawning, she found the break room Jasper had mentioned.

Lying on the bed, Chloe Sinclair’s eyelids felt incredibly heavy.

Just as she was drifting off, she remembered to ask, "Aren’t you going to sleep?"
