Just as she finished speaking, the doorbell rang.

She opened the door to find Ian Winters, carrying a large bag.

Chloe Sinclair quickly took the bag from him.

"Why did you buy so much?"

With that, she glanced at Jasper Shaw. "Go get a cup of warm water."

Jasper Shaw was quite obedient. Without asking why, he got a cup from the kitchen and started to fill it.

After filling it, Jasper Shaw handed the cup to Chloe Sinclair.

"Drink."

Chloe Sinclair stared at the cup right in front of her. She paused, realizing Jasper Shaw had misunderstood.

"It’s not for me."

Saying that, she handed the cup to Ian Winters. "Assistant Winters, thank you for your trouble."

Chloe Sinclair had a very good impression of Ian Winters.

In her memories from her past life, Ian Winters had always been by Jasper Shaw’s side, unfailingly loyal.

Because of this, Chloe Sinclair naturally considered him one of her own.

Ian Winters took the water in a daze, glancing down at it, feeling rather overwhelmed by the gesture.

Then, he glanced at his enigmatic boss standing behind the boss’s wife. His hand trembled, and he nearly spilled the water.

Jasper Shaw’s eyes narrowed slightly. "You’ve had a hard day. Drink up."

As if granted amnesty, Ian Winters drained the cup in one go and said his goodbyes.

Chloe Sinclair: "..."

Watching Ian Winters’s retreating back, which looked suspiciously like he was fleeing, Chloe Sinclair turned and said fiercely, "You scared him off again!"

Jasper Shaw didn’t offer an explanation, letting Chloe Sinclair lecture him.

Five minutes later, Jasper Shaw stood up and poured Chloe Sinclair a glass of water. "There, there, don’t be angry. I’ll go make you dinner."

With that, he headed straight into the kitchen.

Having tasted Jasper Shaw’s cooking, Chloe Sinclair had to admit that the man was truly exceptional.

’Not only can he make money, he even knows how to cook!’

Before he left, Jasper Shaw made a point of washing the dishes. He put on his coat by the sofa, then paused at the door and turned back. "I’ll come pick you up tomorrow."

Chloe Sinclair froze for a second, then realized he was talking about seeing his grandfather tomorrow.

So she nodded.

"Perfect. I was heading out anyway. Let’s go together."

Time was short, so Chloe Sinclair wanted to browse the nearby shops to see if she could find a suitable gift.

The two of them left together, parting ways at the apartment entrance.

"Master, someone is taking pictures of you from under the large tree one hundred meters to your right."

No sooner had Eight spoken than Chloe Sinclair heard the frantic CLICK-CLICK-CLICK of a camera.

"Reporters?"

Eight immediately shot that down. "No. What reporter would dare take your picture now?"

A glint appeared in Chloe Sinclair’s dark eyes as she stared directly at the large tree in the distance.

Jasper Shaw found it strange and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Chloe Sinclair didn’t say a word, simply taking Jasper Shaw’s hand and slowly walking over.

Under the large tree—

"Holy shit, Chloe Sinclair actually saw us."

"What do we do now? Run?"

"Run? My ass! Where are we gonna run to?"

"AHEM—"

Suddenly, a cough interrupted their conversation.

The two girls stiffly turned their heads and saw the young woman watching them with a wide smile.

Holy crap!

One of the girls cried out, instinctively trying to run.

She only took a few steps before a tall man blocked her path.

The two girls recognized him. He was the man who was so close with Chloe Sinclair.

"Ladies, since you’ve already taken some pictures, why not take a few more?"

The two girls instantly became defensive, clutching their cameras to their chests.

They looked guiltier by the second.

"Who—who said we were taking pictures of you!" one of the girls retorted reflexively.

A smile played in Chloe Sinclair’s eyes as her gaze flickered. "Is that so? If you weren’t secretly taking photos, why did you start snapping away the moment you saw us?"

She let out a dry laugh and continued, "If that isn’t a guilty conscience, I don’t know what is."
