Chloe Sinclair suddenly paused and said seriously, "You’re an adult now, for God’s sake. Stop bringing up your parents all the time. Look—"

"See? Everyone here looks like they want to kill you."

Ryan Sinclair trembled.

Before he could speak, his eyes met Chloe Sinclair’s cold gaze.

Her eyes were deep, and upon closer inspection, her jet-black pupils shone like dark pearls.

Then, Chloe Sinclair’s lips parted, and she uttered a few icy words: "Get out of my sight."

This time, Ryan Sinclair didn’t hesitate at all. He turned tail and ran.

Soon, Ryan Sinclair had disappeared from Chloe Sinclair’s sight.

Chloe Sinclair let out a long sigh and sincerely thanked the students—strangers to her—who had spoken up for her.

The students were a little embarrassed and hurriedly waved their hands dismissively.

"We just can’t stand your brother. He’s been cooped up at home for so long, does he really think he’s some kind of king?"

"I just can’t stand mama’s boys. He can’t get three sentences out without mentioning his parents. It’s like he can’t live without them."

"Yeah, he’s an adult, but he still says things like, ’I’m gonna tell my parents.’ I didn’t even say that back in kindergarten."

...

Regardless, Chloe Sinclair was very grateful to the students who had spoken up for her.

Otherwise, Ryan Sinclair wouldn’t have been so easy to deal with today.

After the fiasco, Chloe Sinclair realized an entire class period had passed.

Since she’d already missed a class, Chloe Sinclair didn’t plan on going back and just headed straight home.

Shaw Group

Sutton was in the middle of reporting the day’s events to Jasper Shaw.

Five minutes later,

Jasper Shaw was toying with a contract, the paper rustling crisply.

"Ryan Sinclair?"

"Yes. He’s Miss Sinclair’s brother."

Jasper Shaw sneered, suddenly ripping a tear in the contract.

"And he’s fit to be her brother?"

Sutton chimed in, "He isn’t."

Jasper Shaw was silent for a long time, but Sutton could clearly see from his grim expression that he was in a foul mood.

After a long while, Jasper Shaw asked, "Where is Ryan Sinclair now?"

Sutton was taken aback for a moment, then answered truthfully, "We don’t know for certain, but our files show that Ryan Sinclair loves to gamble. He’s probably at an underground casino right now."

"Since it’s on Dr. Dalton’s turf, go and pay them a visit. Show our guest some proper ’hospitality’ tonight. Don’t disappoint me."

Sutton understood instantly and nodded repeatedly.

’He knew it was over for Ryan Sinclair now that he was in the Young Master’s sights.’

’But thinking of the man’s shameless behavior today, Sutton felt not a shred of sympathy.’

After Sutton left, Jasper Shaw couldn’t focus on his work.

Suddenly, he stood up, walked to the door, and glanced at Ian Winters, who was chatting with a female secretary. "To the apartment," he said.

Caught slacking off at work, Ian Winters heard Jasper Shaw’s order and quickly nodded, rushing to the underground garage to get the car.

"Boss, shouldn’t Miss Sinclair still be in class right now?"

On the way, Ian Winters checked the traffic, then glanced back at the man in the back seat.

Jasper Shaw was scrolling through his phone. He replied without looking up, "Chloe sent me her schedule. All her classes for today are over."

Ian Winters: "..."

He slammed on the gas. The silver Bentley sped down the open road, and in less than ten minutes, it slowly pulled up outside the apartment building.

Jasper Shaw said, "Go to the supermarket outside the complex and buy some groceries."
