Chapter 323: Treating the Teacher to Candy
It was because the only place he’d ever been was the local town.
And it was precisely because he had never been anywhere else that he wanted to see the world.
Maybe the world outside was different from their town.
Chloe Sinclair looked the child in the eye and said earnestly, "When you get the chance, you’ll definitely be able to go out and see it."
After saying that, Chloe Sinclair suddenly asked another question. "Our classmate just said he wants to see the world. Does anyone know what other places exist outside of our town?"
This time, no one could answer.
Chloe Sinclair wasn’t the least bit surprised.
To the village children, it seemed there was no place bigger than the town.
Even when their textbooks mentioned places like Meridia and Grython, they were just names they had heard. Based on the handful of pictures in the book, they couldn’t truly imagine how vast or beautiful those places were.
Seeing this, Chloe Sinclair took out her laptop.
The laptop was the latest model from Jasper Shaw’s company, not set to be released until next year. Chloe Sinclair had modified its internal components, giving it a signal strength on par with technology from the future.
She turned the laptop screen toward the class and played a video she had prepared beforehand.
The video was about fifteen minutes long, showcasing modern technology as well as famous landmarks and locations from major countries around the world.
Although her laptop screen was large, it wasn’t big enough for some students to see clearly, so she had them move their desks aside to get a better view.
When the video ended, the students’ mouths were slightly agape.
Her goal achieved, Chloe Sinclair said earnestly, "Class, the ground beneath your feet is just a tiny speck of this Earth. And the Earth itself is but a drop in the ocean of the universe."
Ever since she had seen Eight’s world, Chloe Sinclair felt that the current level of civilization was simply too primitive.
She wasn’t sure if other civilizations existed in the universe, but she knew that humanity must constantly explore. That was the true mark of a civilization.
"We can’t confine ourselves to our own small world. If you have the chance, I hope all of you go out and explore. Your lives might find different opportunities."
’Perhaps going out to make a living won’t change much, but if you never leave, then nothing will ever change at all.’

Chloe Sinclair hoped her words today could change these children’s lives—even if it was just one of them.
Chloe Sinclair’s lesson was brilliant. The moment she finished speaking, the school bell rang.
Everyone paused for a moment, and then the classroom erupted in thunderous applause.
The director, who was standing off to the side, praised, "That was well said, Chloe."
He looked at the group of children with their innocent eyes and said, "Class, we just want you all to remember one thing: if you have the chance to get an education, you must take it!"
An education might not guarantee a better life.
But without it, they would have no life at all.
They’d just drift through life in a daze, leaving nothing behind in the end.
After class, Chloe Sinclair returned to the office.
Suddenly, a knock came from the office door.
Chloe Sinclair had just sat down when she saw a child at the door who looked to be about eight or nine years old.
"Teacher, may I come in?"
Chloe Sinclair paused for a moment before realizing the boy was speaking to her.
She nodded. "Come on in."
The little boy walked in and, from his bag, took out a candy in a crumpled and poorly sealed wrapper.
"What’s this?" Chloe Sinclair asked, looking with confusion at the small item that had appeared on her desk.
The boy’s face flushed red as he said, "Teacher, I want you to have this candy."
